I had my 6 month cleaning today. Christi, the hygienist, did a great job! I usually hate cleanings but she made me feel very relaxed. Dr. Downs came in and checked my teeth. She has a wonderful chair side manner! A great overall experience from office staff to hygienist and dentist. Would definitely recommend this office!

Best dentist and dental hygienist in Virginia Beach! Just left Downs Dental and had my regular check up and everyone was wearing masks and following procedures for keeping everyone safe. I see Christie as our dental hygienist and she is very friendly and great at cleaning and checking for any issues. She consistently does an outstanding job. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The office is well organized and very nicely decorated. It was a busy morning but everything kept moving in a timely manner. My husband and I have been going to Downs Dental for some time and highly recommend Dr Downs and Christie!

I have never done a review on anything in my life until now. The reason I am now is because I am extremely happy. I called scheduled and seen the doctor the same day. I was apprehensive to see a dentist because I chew tobacco and I had some problems with my teeth. I’m a grown man I know I need to quit tobacco and didn’t need a lecture she was kind and courteous I would definitely recommend to any and everybody. The staff was unbelievable like I was part of their family.

Like many I have always dreaded dental work, but my mindset changed recently at Downs Dentistry. The atmosphere is more like a comfortable home than an office. I was welcomed with a smile and was surprised when Mr. Downs came out to greet me and take me through the ‘first patient visit’ procedure himself. It was all done on an IPad making it quick and simple. I then went directly back to an exam room ( no typical 20-40 min wait ) and was greeted by a hygienist who was friendly, courteous and made me feel comfortable instantly by telling me exactly what was going to happen before every step. I heard Dr Downs is the best and I soon found out why. Dr Downs spent more time with me than any other Dentist. She examined, explained and discussed a plan to get my teeth healthy. All while being very gentle and professional. Unfortunately I have to return for more work but it will be the first time with no hesitation.

We found out about Dr.Downs from our daughter . Needed a new dentist and waited till I needed one she took me as a walk I next day got me in and took care of my needs. I was able to come right in and the work was completed in a short time. After visiting the dentist from hell, Dr. Shabana Zahir with Ideal Smiles Dentistry, I needed to find a new dentist to get my last 2 fillings taken care of. My husband found Dr. Paige Downs through Google. As soon as we called we made the receptionist aware of my anxiety and my concerns were quickly relayed to Dr. Downs. Everything Dr. Zahir said was an inconvenience or not possible was quickly and easily taken care of by Dr. Downs. I didn’t feel much pain when she numbed me and the actual procedure was surprisingly quick and stress free. All the staff I interacted with were absolutely wonderful! I believe I am one of the first patients Downs Dental Care has seen that has been sent for treatment by the VA, what a great practice. The staff are awesome, I had waited for two months for a different dentist to see me and was canceled at the last minute. But everything happens for a reason, thank you to the staff and the hygienist “Christi” and Dr Miller deserve a separate mention. It is obvious that everyone is invested in giving great treatment, and as a veteran sent for treatment by the VA it is greatly appreciated.

I’m not usually one to review but I HAD to “give credit where credit is due”. Updated insurance & old dentist retired, so had to find a new one. Friend suggested & I made my 1st appointment (thru Mindy) with Downs Dental. Very nervous about going in but was immediately put at ease meeting Jayson, who took care of initial paperwork. Then, getting to the chair, was welcomed by Abbie before meeting Dr. Miller. Took quick, painless & excellent care of my filling concern. Finalizing my paperwork with Mindy. I had a lot of dental work as a kid and as a result am very anxious with any dental visit. I recently broke a tooth and was able to get in quickly with Dr Miller. He was very patient with me and made sure any level of pain was taken care of throughout the procedure. It was the best experience possible considering. Dental visits have given me extreme anxiety since I was a kid. I hate everything from the noises and odors to the way they like to ask you questions when your jaws are propped open & you can’t properly respond. None of this is an issue at Downs Dental Care. The office is like a spa. The chairs are comfortable and face a large window looking outside to a beautiful grassy area with birds. It is actually relaxing, which is a miracle for a dentist’s office to achieve. Dr. Downs and her staff are amazing. I was so comfortable here, I finally had multiple procedures done that I had been putting off for years. Dr. Downs is so sweet and is genuinely concerned with the comfort of the patient. She asks if I am okay, explains everything as she goes along, and gives breaks if needed. She is also trustworthy, and there is no pressure for expensive procedures. She will tell you what needs to be done and what can wait. Dr. Downs is upfront about the costs, and will always provide alternatives, if available. In two years of being a customer, I have never been surprised with any fees or erroneous charges. Dr. Downs is amazing and I am so grateful that she is my children’s first dental experience. They have no fear of the dentist, and I believe it is largely because of this office. I recommend this place to everyone. If you are uncomfortable with dental visits, I believe they will change your mind.

I love Downs dental care. Ther staff is so courteous. I will tell you a little situation Ihad. Dr. Downs was getting ready to go out of town on vacation. I called the office and told them my tooth had broken, and i did not want to have a broken tooth for the holidays. Most dentist would have told you to wait until they get back or simply just don’t answer your call. Dr. downs told me to meet her at her office and she would repair it. She did exactly what she said. I trust her . It took me a long time to find a dentist I like. After finding Dr. Downs I will never look for another dentist.

Today was my very first visit and I can’t express enough the top notch professionalism, knowledge and overall kindness I experienced and received by everyone in the office. Everyone was very respectful and welcoming! Ownership provided a personal tour of the entire practice and provided background information of how the practice started as well as the vision moving forward. Christi certainly deserves special mention as she went above and beyond, displaying passion and enthusiasm during her examination! She made the experience very special and you can tell she strives daily to perfect her craft!! In addition, the facility was very clean and the aesthetics, breathtaking. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the amenities of the office and the environment was peaceful and tranquil. The equipment was top of the line and cutting edge. I cannot express enough how kind and professional the staff are at this practice. I had a dental emergency, I was not even a patient yet, and Dr. Downs answered my questions after hours and fit me in the next day. 2 wonderful staff members called me after 8:30 pm to get my new patient paperwork and set up the appointment. The hygenist who helped me had to be the nicest person I have ever met. She immediately made me feel comfortable. The Office Manager was amazingly kind and explained the payment process, both she and Dr. Downs have a thorough understanding of how dental insurance works. I was very upset about what brought me to the practice, everyone there helped to make me feel better. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who has a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! This is the only dentist I’ve ever been to in my LIFE that I actually TRUST cleaning my teeth, whether I have my braces on or braces off, they always do a good job there taking care of their patients.
