I am notorious about not going to the dentist for years at a time, because the experience usually fills me with dread. Dr. James changed that for me–I’ve never had a more pleasant series of appointments, and am so thankful I found him and Dr. Tiffany. The two deep cleanings I received were a painless breeze–I couldn’t believe how quickly and efficiently they worked! They also fixed two chipped teeth that no dentist I’ve had in previous years have been able to repair. My teeth look and feel better than they have in years. Their offices are meticulously clean and professional, and their receptionists have always been upbeat, kind, and explanatory. THANK YOU Dr. James and Dr. Tiffany for helping me love my smile again!

I have been coming to Dr. James Nguyen for the past six years, I have always had a pleasant experience with him and his entire staff. I really like how honest and knowledgeable they all are . They always make sure that you are comfortable prior to any procedures and your always aware of any out pocket expenses before the work is done. I feel Dr. Nguyen is always caring for you and the care he provides. He also has a fabulous sense of humor. I enjoy refereeing his Dental Office to Family members and Co workers all the time

My overall experience about my dental visit with Dr James was phenomenal . I have had a worse toothache infection with migraine headaches coming in earlier today . The office staff and doctor at Redondo Beach Smile Dental were the nicest people. They were very helpful comforting me and caring all throughout the treatment. I hated getting shot in my mouth but I didn’t even feel the needle at all . Amazing doctor and very professional staff ! I love my new dentist. Thank you so much Dr James ! I will never go back to my old dentist again .

James is without a doubt the best dentist I have ever seen, A craftsman, artist and dentist all rolled into one. Very concerned about your comfort and fears, (my wife has very sensitive teeth) Would recommend him to anyone. Had my 1st root canal last year and had heard the horror stories about pain and discomfort, I have had more pain during a cleaning from my previous dentist that from that root canal, The guy really without a doubt is the Best I have ever had!
Yes hes expensive, but you get what you pay for!

I like Dr. Nguyen because: 1) office is super clean 2) has all the latest technology 3) if you get any work done, he can tell you exactly how much it will cost you after insurance. Most dentists have no clue how much it will cost, then they send you a generic bill. Dentists that do this always make me think they are running a scam. 4) has a digital camera where he can show you exactly what is going on with your teeth by displaying the image on a computer screen 5) has great hands and has never slipped and injured my teeth. 6) he is knowledgeable. 7) front desk is polite

I was very impressed with Dr Nguyen and his staff.  I took both of my teenage sons there since I was less than impressed with their last dentist ( I moved to the area two years ago and chose a dentist recommended by a friend)  who had very dirty offices and rude staff and antiquated technology.   Dr Nguyen’s offices and staff were a breath of fresh air.  The office hours are great as well.  The Saturday appointments are very convenient for my family (I don’t have to take off work and the kids don’t have to miss school) The offices were very clean and contained the latest technology!  Dr Nguyen was very imformative and upfront about the costs of  every procedure!

I’d been putting off my dental check up since I’d moved. After checking reviews of dental offices in the area, decided to come to Redondo Smile Dental. Upon entering, the office itself seemed to reassure me I’d chosen right. It was already better than my previous one. The warm reception promptly made me feel welcome and it didn’t take long for me to be ushered into the back. The machines are very high tech. I was surprised by the digital x-rays! Dr. James Ngyuen was very thorough and patiently walked me through the x ray. The cleaning itself went so well that I didn’t get nervous at all like we all do when we go to the dentist. And the best part is that I didn’t have any cavities or any issues to my relief. So I’ve gone ahead and scheduled my next cleaning. Needless to say, I think I found my new dentist.

(cross post from yelp) I’ve been lucky to find good dentists and stay with them over the years. When I moved to Redondo from VA, I needed a new dentist. I chose Redondo Smile based on convenience and insurance. I have been extremely happy with my choice – so happy that even though I moved across the LA basin, I still make the drive to see Dr. James every 6 months. He is a good dentist, and an interesting person, well worth talking to beyond the mechanics of your dental health. The office is modern and clean. The office staff are professional and friendly. I have never had to wait for my appointment. I get a good quality cleaning, done quickly, with modern equipment (not a metal pick.) I’ve had two more significant procedures done, and both were very satisfactory – proper pain management, up-front disclosure of costs, discussion of options. I’ve received good advice for how to improve my dental health. I do not understand the very negative reviews on this site. Make sure to read all the reviews, not just the ones that show up on the 1st page. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Nguyen to a friend or co-worker.

Dr. James has been my dentist since 2007. No hour waits for service! That’s a plus.Quality products and quality workmanship. I’m always comfortable and welcomed with bright smiles and friendly attitudes. Everyone is personal and knows you by a first name basis. You can definitely tell that the passion of this office is patient care and DENTAL maintenance. Every treatment your reminded about the importance of dental care. If there is a treatment required he give you several options and the related consequences/ benefits. Hands down the best dental experience. I love my dentist!!

Oh yes, forgot to say that I didn’t have a Yelp account, but created one to write and post this review. I find it odd that the only review shows is negative. Look at the “filtered” reviews. All but one are glowing reviews. Came here after my regular dentist had diagnosed me with gigival disease. Dr. Nguyen took a look and said, “wow, must have magically healed itself. You actually have abfractions.” He’s professional and methodical. Great chairside manner. Always on time. Very clear about costs before he does his work. Paperless office, which means never a misplaced record. He reviews your record and can speak in great detail about any of the work he’s done with you. He takes high resolution photos of the work before and after, so you can see exactly what was done. My wife also goes here, and is also very satisfied. Best dentist and office I have ever been to.

Just visitied Dr. Nguyen’s office today.  I had chipped off a piece of my back teeth where my filling had to be redone.  As usual, I had a great experience going there.  I did not have an appointment since my little accident happened on Sunday during the weekend.  I  just went to his office to get help in getting my teeth fixed and I got the service the same day.  Been going to this office for over the last 4 years and been very happy with the quality of dental work.  The quality is well worth the money I have spent.  I have learned my lesson before with cheapter dentists.  The workmanship and the quality he puts in to assist me with my dental issues has my full approval.  Thank you again for a great job today.

Absolutely love Dr. Nguyen and his staff! Everything from addressing the insurance aspects to evaluating the health of the teeth and what if anything needs to be done is extremely efficient, thorough and well organized. Also everyone is very friendly. Dr. Nguyen fitted two crowns on me I am very pleased with the results. As he says to him working on a tooth is like working on apiece of jewelry. It shows, my crowns look like actual teeth. Since I have needed lots of dental work done over the years I have been a patient of several dentists. I must say I like being Dr. Nguyen’s patient the most; happy I found him :).

I was recommended to Dr. Nguyen by a friend after a sudden serious tooth ache. Dr. Nguyen was AMAZING on so many levels. I had a tooth infection under an old crown that required a root canal. Dr. Nguyen not only explained the process fully, but the reason why my tooth was infected. He took x-rays and photographs of the tooth before he started and once the old crown was removed. Throughout the process there was NO pain whatsoever. After the process, I was given a prescription for pain and was told exactly when and how to take the medication so I could alleviate the pain as much as possible as the anesthetic wore off. Next steps for the temporary and permanent crown were explained fully. That evening, I received a call from Dr. Nguyen to make sure I was doing well. Dr. Nguyen left me feeling secure and safe. His office has state of the art technology for dental care. There are films and presentations that explain procedures fully. The office is comfortable, peaceful and immaculate. Dr. Nguyen’s staff is lovely and they work together with the doctor like a well oiled machine. I have since finished the entire procedure for my root canal, new crown, a few fillings and I can say that I will never see another doctor other than Dr. James Nguyen ever again. He is the BEST and I have already recommended him to many friends.

I was referred to Dr. Nguyen by a friend of mine and was completely satisfied with my visit! When I first stepped into the office, I was impressed by the modern decor and the friendly office staff. Dr. Nguyen was enthusiastic, personable, and very informative about my treatment. He gave me a full mouth examination and thoroughly explained the diagnosis and  treatment plan options with me. I have never been to a dentist that spent so much time with one patient; he really takes care in giving each patient what they need on an individual basis. I was also impressed that he took digital photographs and used them as a visual aid to show me what was going on in my mouth. He was professional and most importantly, gentle! I highly recommend him. Overall, had a great experience at redondo smile dental.

Dr. James and Dr. Tiffany are hands down the most professional Dentist that I have ever visited. The office staff is very friendly and so are the Doctors. I am confused as to why people have posted less than 5 star reviews on yelp, this office explained my treatment plan in full detail and worked with my insurance company. Also, office is very clean and modern and makes patients feel right at home! I would recommend this office to anyone whom is in need of a great dentist in Redondo Beach!

I was referred to Dr. James Nguyen a number of years ago when I needed some dental work done. At first I was very nervous, but Dr. James and his entire staff was extremely gentle with me knowing how I felt. He explains everything clearly, and makes sure that I am as comfortable as possible. He makes sure to show me pictures of my mouth so that I have a clear and complete understanding of what needs to be done. He is extremely knowledgable, and is a perfectionist with his work. I have been going to him now for a few years, and he and his staff continue to be professional, gentle, and efficient. If you are a dental chicken, this is the dentist for you! He gets an A+ for patience!!! The office is clean and his staff is always accommodating. Thank you Dr. James for always putting me at ease, and for keeping my teeth/gums so healthy.

I saw Dr. James Nguyen and we discussed many options and decided on a course of action for my dental care. James was very professional and when I started getting the work done, James always consulted me during the procedures and checked for how I was doing and comfort level. I was impressed with his skills and he uses the latest in dental technology. The staff was always very courteous and friendly. Today I can now smile with confidence and my teeth look great. When I think about how my teeth looked when I first went into his office compared to today, all I can say is that I’m blessed to have such a great dentist. I would highly recommend Redondo Smile Dentist to anyone who wants caring and professional care.

My family and I have been  patients of Dr. James for many years.   He has always been courteous and considerate when doing any procedure.  I have had a lot of problems with my teeth throughout the years and he has done an excellent job of helping to restore my teeth.  In fact, he does such a great job I actually fall asleep in his chair while he is working!  I have had more than one root canal and I have never experienced any pain.  He is very thorough in consulting with me about my options for treatment.  I would recommend him to anyone.  I travel over 50 miles just to have him treat my family and I.  I wouldn’t do that if he wasn’t one of the best dentists
