No one likes going to the dentist, but the staff at Dr. Kim’s office makes it more tolerable. The younger receptionist is super nice and always in a good mood. The hygienist is great, kept it real with me on things I needed to work on (i.e better flossing and using an electric toothbrush). She offers suggestions without it sounding like she’s up-selling. Dr. Kim is also great. He seems very traditional, but really nice and I trust him. Parking is easy!

I don’t think I understood what a good dentist was until I came here. I’ve been here a couple of times now and everyone here is very hospitable, very professional and friendly. They even remember my teeth conditions since the last time I came (6 months ago!). Definitely would recommend. Don’t bother looking at other places just come here. Also free plaza parking is a nice bonus

Moving to Santa Monica From Northern California it was daunting to find a dentist in a town of so many medical professionals.  I have been so happy with Dr. Kim, he is very relaxed and explains things and has the friendliest hygienist. I never feel worry going in for my appointments with Dr. Kim.

I love this dental office, I’m grateful I found them. All their imaging gear and x-ray stuff is super high-tech. Dr. Kim is very warm, very funny and more importantly very smart. He actually stuck a camera in my mouth and showed me on the screen what the problem areas were (i have some old fillings that are structurally unsound) and what he wanted to do and talked through my options. I had not been to the dentist in a couple of years and I needed a deep cleaning. The dental hygienist, Lydia is great. She’s very nice and thorough and very skilled. These people are the A team. No need to fear this dentist. The facility itself is clean, warm, non threatening and has its own parking.

After moving to LA a little over 3 years ago, I needed a new local dentist. One of my best friends recommended Dr. Kim and I am so happy that I listened to her. Dr. Kim is professional, nice, and very knowledgeable. All of the staff are very friendly, and especially the dental hygienist Lydia who is super sweet and personable. If you are looking for a great dentist and dental team on the westside, pick Dr. Kim!

Dr. Kim and his staff are phenomenal. They are thorough but compassionate with their care. Their facilities and equipment are modern and clean. Their hygienists are great at their jobs, but treat me like a person, not just a set of teeth. I see them but twice a year, but they treat me like a good friend, always asking after my wife and my family by name. They are a close knit family of professionals who obviously like what they do, and that comes through in the level of care they provide. And, last but not least, they have a parking lot! No more hunting for meter spots or trying to decipher Santa Monica street parking signage. If you’re looking for a new dentist, I would recommend Dr. Kim and Co without hesitation.

I have been going to Dr. Kim for many years and have had an excellent experience with his care of my teeth. He employs an excellent team of professionals who go above and beyond to make every visit as comfortable and pleasant as possible. His hygienist is the best in the business and they use only the most modern and painless techniques and equipment. Every person, including his office manager and his dental assistant, are kind and patient and incredibly great to work with. I cannot recommendation Dr. Kim and his team enough.

I have been a patient since Dr. Kim took over the practice and I am so very please with the years of service.  The entire team is wonderful and their dedication to their patients always shines through!  I am very thankful to have such amazing care and willingness to work with me so that I feel always comfortable about a required procedure. Dr Kim is a very talented and honest dentist. I brought my son and daughter to Dr Kim on two different occasions after their own dentist said they needed to have some expensive dental work done. Dr Kim examined them and said that there was no need for the dental work to be done and I was able to save quite a bit of money. In addition to that, Dr Kim performed some cosmetic dental work on me that turned an ugly smile into a great smile (I think I’m even in his book of “before” and “after” photos). In addition to Dr Kim himself, his staff is very helpful and pleasant and the office is outfitted with the latest equipment. I highly recommend Dr Kim and his staff to all! 

I’ve been here for three cleanings and about to get my wisdom teeth pulled, and I know like always that they’ll do a great job! The first time I came, they suggested that I do several things, including fix a chip in my tooth, that my other three dentists never even told about. My insurance also covered everything so I walked out paying nothing on top of my co-pay. Would definitely recommend!

I have been to Dr. Kim’s office for a few months now with two cleaning with Lydia, who has been fabulous.  I just had some filling/bonding done and I am really happy with them.   Lydia had very gentle touch but was able to clean out my coffee/tea/red wine stained teeth.  I dozed off during my last visit while she was cleaning, which has never happened before as I normally have PTSD episodes while in a dentist’s chair. Dr. Kim repaired my bonding/filling today.  They looked great and I can immediately sense the positive difference regarding the sensitivity around my gum line.   Furthermore, I was in and out a little over half a hour with no discomfort. Dr. Kim’s office is about a 5- to10- minute drive from my office. Not only they have their own parking lot (which is a rare thing in Santa Monica – I usually Uber to my doctors appointments because the parking at SaMo  usually costs more than round trip Uber rides), everyone on the staff is fantastic.  The receptionist is super patient working with me to find a good time for me to come in for the first time.  After my first procedure here today, I feel I could trust the doctor to help me keep my teeth healthy.  I am so glad to have found this place.  Recommended!

So this review is for my husband,Kip who asked me to write a year ago it since he does not have a Yelp account, but I totally forgot, so doing it now 🙂  Dr, Kim was his dentist for many years until he had to switch insurance plans for work, and Dr. Kim’s practice unfortunately did not accept his new plan.  Which was a bummer since he had nothing but great things to say about the practice.   Always friendly, always did great work whether it was a simple cleaning or a crown (or 2).   He’d be back in a heartbeat if they only accepted his dental plan.

I’ve been coming to Dr. Kim since I can’t even remember! Each visit is full of chit chatting with the dental hygienist Lydia who does an amazing job at making my teeth feel squeaky clean. Dr. Kim is patient and makes you feel at ease. Recently I thought I cracked one of my molars while eating cherries during non business hours and called Dr. Kim on his personal cell for a consultation. He calmed me down with his gentle humor and informed me of how to take care of it through the weekend. Thankfully it wasn’t cracked but even if it had been I know I’d be in good hands.

It seems counter intuitive but, I absolutely LOVE going to the dentist. Dr. Kim and his team are so friendly and professional. His dental hygienist Lydia is the BEST! My teeth are clean and it is an enjoyable experience. I went in just last week and mentioned some cold sensitivity during my regular cleaning and Dr. Kim was able to fit me in that same morning and my teeth feel 100% better. If you’re looking for a dentist in LA, it is worth the drive to Santa Monica to see Dr. Kim!

Listen, I hate the dentist with every ounce of my being and always tried to avoid it at all costs…until I met Dr. Richard Kim and his amazing staff. The office is welcoming, professional, super clean and they put you at ease every time you come in. The office offers the latest technology and when I needed to be referred to a specialist, they couldn’t have recommended better people. I still don’t choose going to the dentist over the movies, but that being said, I couldn’t recommend a better dentist office

I found Dr Kim through an orthodontist I highly respect. Dr Kim was my fourth dentist in 6yrs as it was so difficult find someone who was actually talented and detailed oriented enough to do good work. Other dentists had fancy offices and tech but I had complications every time I had work done. Others scratched to find cavities and things “wrong” so they could make an extra dime. Dr Kim is down to earth, not pushy and conservative in his assessments. He did great cosmetic and filler work. He also had a fantastic cleaner who is thorough and gentle. I finally found a dentist on the Westside I like!

I’ve been coming to Dr Kim for the past 6 years and am very pleased with his work and professionalism. He is very friendly and easy to talk to and keeps his office clean and in order. He always takes the time to make sure everything is in order after my cleanings and squeezes in any quick fixes so that I don’t have to schedule another appointment to come back. He is very knowledgeable and I trust the recommendations he makes to keep my teeth clean and healthy. All of his staff and hygienists are friendly, makes sure my appointments are on time, and provide great recommendations in helping with my teeth sensitivity issues

I’ve been to plenty of dentists, and Dr Kim is by far the best The staff: Every single person on staff is super friendly and really good at what they do. A hard combination to find! The very best hygienist and dental techs I have ever experienced. Dr Kim: Most dentists are either really skilled or really personable. Dr Kim is both. He will talk honestly with you about what you do and don’t need, and help you prioritize if (like me) you need serious work and you’re on a budget. I’ve had a lot of work done here and am 100% satisfied. Dr Kim was available for me in an emergency that ended in a root canal, and even his referral endodontist was exceptional. I’ve never waited more than five minutes past my appointment time and even that’s rare. Lastly, they take insurance and do all the paperwork. And free parking in their lot.
