I’ve lived in several big cities over the past 14 years for work, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and San Francisco, and established relationships with dental offices in each before recently relocating back to the Philly area. I must say that Rittenhouse Dentists is by far the best practice out of them all. I had an emergency a few months back where a crown that I had done in California fell out, and left me frantically googling and calling all around the city for a practice that could see me with such short notice (day of). I called Rittenhouse’s Bala Cynwyd location and they were able to squeeze me in that same day! Both ladies at the front, Rudi and Christy, are very pleasant and always helpful. My dentist, Dr. Abdulla, is amazing. She’s in process of having a new crown built for me, and is always super pleasant and personable during my visits. The hygienists are great as well. The office is always very clean, which is more important than ever right now given the times we are in, and the equipment throughout is modern. They even have Netflix goggles that you can wear during your treatment, which is a very nice touch, and was offered to me today during my visit. I could go on and on about this amazing practice. Look no further if you’re looking for a skillful team, pleasant staff, and modern facility. -Chad G

I struggle with anxiety when it comes to the doctor’s office, dentist being pretty high up there on the list. I can honestly say I actually enjoyed my visit. What seemed scary turned into a pleasant experience filled with considerate staff and pain free and effective dental work. I don’t think I’ll be able to go to another dentist again after experiencing Dr. Abdullah and the Rittenhouse staff. I highly recommend.

I absolutely love this place. It is very relaxing, friendly, everyone there is so professional. Dr. Abdulla is awesome and so comforting and always make sure you’re okay and takes her time and makes you feel at ease. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I definitely recommend. This is from my own personal experience.

I’ve been going here for 6 years and recommend it to everyone. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming- always needed when you know what’s coming. While mostly in for check ups- they are never behind- they’ve even called to see if I wanted to come early and have evening hours. I’ve had a few services- while getting a filling I’ve used the googles which allow you to watch Netflix during the procedure- this made it so much more pleasant. They have even given me a paraffin hand wax. Spa water, Keurig and mints on the way out Your lucky if you spot the dentists chihuahua on the way out 🙂

I have been going to Rittenhouse Dentists for over a year now and I have had many issues with my teeth! They have always been able to schedule appointments around my busy schedule and squeeze me in when I had an infection in my mouth. Recently, I had a cleaning my Susan and she did a great job! I am currently pregnant and she gave me recommendations to help with my sensitive gums 🙂 The office is beautiful and they do little things like put vaseline on your lips before doing any dental work and you can watch Netflix during longer procedures with special TV glasses, they know how to make you feel well taken care of and comfortable, I would highly recommend!!

I have to say I hardly ever write reviews but after a life long fear of the dentist they’ve put me at ease. Elise did my cleaning and I mentioned my sensitive tooth to which she said she already knew and had read my chart before speaking with me. This is the same tooth that had given me problems and I had been at another dentist who was ready to do a root canal that same day!!!! Also with the way they schedule, you can opt in to get last minute updates on cancellations so you can come in at an earlier convenience if your schedule works out that way (mine is usually erratic so this was great for me to pop in after my shift). Overall an amazing experience, with wonderful and attentive staff. Looking forward to my twice yearly appointments.

The staff at Rittenhouse Dentists are a talented group of professionals. They will take great care of you. I’ve been to others and felt that they were ripping me off by finding every procedure under the sun to do… and right away. At Rittenhouse they had more focused procedures, and executed them well. The equipment is state of the art. I’m used to ugly old offices in the burbs, and the dentists I used to see in CC seemed barely evolved from that. This place is just awesome. These new gadgets and equipment allowed me to see my mouth in a fuller way than at any previous dentist. I felt much more in control of my overall dental health. The initial exam is very thorough, they discuss with you the findings and if needed, any subsequent courses of action that would be taken. Especially soft touch when it comes to poking around your mouth with needles. The hands worked like magic wands. After procedures they detail how to best care for yourself over the recovery period. Best experience I have ever had at a medical office. Medical or dental. Period. Why it took me so long to arrive at their doorstep…? Just glad I found them.

I was seen as an emergency patient at Rittenhouse dentists, I had a bad toothache for months and when I finally could not take it any longer I called to see if I can be scheduled the next day. To my surprise I was informed that emergencies are treated on a priority basis and I could be seen the same day. Dr. Abdulla did not seem rushed or irritated, in fact she took her time and was thorough. I am relieved to be out of pain after putting it off for so long, and I am happy to have found a dentist I can trust.

Very professional, quick, and friendly service. Before visiting Rittenhouse Dentists, I saw another group that I later discovered did not accept my insurance. However, they had already done an initial assessment and said I would need to have two cavities filled and the sealant on my molars redone. The bill would’ve been >$1k. When I went to Rittenhouse one day later, they told me my teeth were totally fine (I’ve only had one cavity, ever), which was more like what I would’ve expected. $50 copay and I was out the door. Honest and good dentists, I’d say.

Frankly speaking my dentist experiences hav been very bad until I found Rittenhouse Dentist (Pine Road branch). I thank God for that. I always had emphatic crew who treated me like human and that is why I am recommending including all my family members to this place. To be more specific I recently had Deep cleaning done, Anna ensured with her tedious follow ups to get me scheduled as early as possible to prevent my issue to get more worse. She is the best they have. Also my last hygenist (Eurice) with her assuring nature and calm demenour did thorough work which made my overall experience just awesome. I don’t mind the traveling time as I know I finally found the best dentist! THANK YOU JESUS! Cheers!

I hadn’t been to the dentist in about two years and was so nervous about going back, but the entire team at Rittenhouse made me feel comfortable and relaxed. My hygienist and doctor explained the state of my teeth in plenty of detail and made me feel knowledgeable about my dental health. There were also so many pleasant touches throughout my appointment – chapstick, a hot towel, etc. Best of all, the staff was extremely focused on making sure the space was clean, they even disinfected my credit card and the pen I used to sign the receipt (for context, my visit was in July 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic). Overall, a fabulous experience and I wish I could give them a million stars.

I went here after not being to a dentist in a few years. I have been moving around the east coast but have finally settled in Philly permanently and it was time to find a good dentist. I was looking to just get my teeth cleaned and let me tell you I was certainly impressed with the work they put into my teeth. I went to the Bryn Mawr office since they had availability and that will be the location I continue to visit. It’s the newer location and it is so pretty. It was very neat and well kept and the staff were so nice. I met my hygienist who took xrays of my teeth before we started the cleaning. The technology they have is state of the art and is awesome. I got my teeth cleaned by a really great lady who gave me tips on how to help my gums stay and get healthier and she showered me with compliments which was amazing and really made a not exciting thing relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend visiting this office location if you are in the market for a new dentist.

Let me begin by saying I hate dentists. That was until I was looking for a new dentist and found Dr. Abdulla. The reviews were spot on. My initial exam was thorough and painless. Then is was discovered that I had an issue with a loose tooth. Dr. referred me to an endodontist who was honest and said that the tooth was not worth saving. So it was the Friday before Christmas and I needed to have that tooth pulled and a titanium post put it in that would need to be embedded with bone graft in the open space. I called Dr.’s office and they said come right in the doctor can take care of it all. Really ?? Doctor took me at 11:00. The assistants were great. They started me off with a paraffin wax of my hands; very soothing. They then prepped for the extraction. At this point I had put on the Googles glasses and was watching old episodes of The Office. I honestly never felt a thing. I was so distracted that before I knew it the whole thing was over! So I still am not fond of going to the dentist but for me I’ve found the dentist that makes a uncomfortable experience just the opposite. Needless to say I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Abdulla.

I have had really great experiences with Dr. Shimma. I have some dental anxiety, and Dr. Shimma and her staff have always been very helpful with that. I also haven’t felt pushed to get things I didn’t need, and always feel welcome at the office. A few weeks ago, I had an old filling replaced, and the whole process was both quick and literally painless. I couldn’t believe it! I’m really glad to have found such a wonderful dentist.

I am so impressed with Dr. Shimma Abdulla! It has been the best and just experience I’ve had in my life. The office is very clean, she takes time to explain everything that she’s doing as she’s doing it. She called me by my name the entire time m, which I don’t normally care about, but it certainly made me feel like a more personalized experience instead of being streamlined through like most dentists. I had a cavity filled, and in the past, this has been a very painful procedure. Here it was completely painless! I was seen at my appointment time both times, instead of waiting around in an office and watching people going as your appointment time comes and goes. I highly recommend this dentist office! The cherry on top was having chapstick offered and applied mid procedure for my comfort. Plus enjoy the complementary coffee, mints, floss in the waiting room.

Today was my second visit to Rittenhouse Dentists and I feel like this will be my go-to dental practice for years to come. My hygienist was Elise and I cannot say enough about her gentle touch and friendly banter! Seriously, these are the qualities you look for during those 20-or-so minutes of twice-a-year cleanings. The waiting area is modern and comfortable, and they get you in and out as quickly as possible. I love that they apply lip balm so your lips remain plump and pouty. It’s the little things, friends. If you’re looking to upgrade your dental game, this is the spot to do it.

I have been a patient of Dr. Abdulla since she first opened her practice. She has filled my cavities, extracted a tooth, whitened my teeth and created the perfect denture for me to use for my wedding so that I wouldn’t have a gap in my smile. My husband has used her for fillings, cleanings and most recently to replace an implant that he had chipped. We travel over 2.5 hours to see her because the service is truly unmatched. The experience is like a dental spa. If you are having a filling or tooth extraction or any type of procedure that makes you shift in your seat a little Dr. Abdulla and her staff will hook you up with movie goggles that you can watch anything off of Netflix on. Once you’re set up with your favorite show or video they will offer you a nice paraffin wax treatment for your hands. Before they start working on your smile, they put Vaseline on your lips to prevent that drying and cracking that happens to your lips every time you visit the dentist. You walk out of here with nice teeth, feeling relaxed and with the best service you can ask for at a dental office. The office is spotless, the decor is refreshing and the technology/ equipment is best in class. Dr. Abdulla is a perfectionists and she will spend as much time as needed to make sure your smile is perfect. She never makes you feel rushed and truly listens to her patients. I have sent my husband here, my mother, my father and they all would take the drive to see her. She makes sure you are at ease and comfortable the whole time. My only wish is that she had an office in New Jersey so we wouldn’t have such a far drive! But when we get there we realize the drive was definitely worth it – plus it’s nice to have an authentic philly cheesesteak every now and then .

Office was clean and organized. Service was beyond any expectations I had. Everyone was exceptionally polite and courteous. The doctor explained the reason for each procedure to ensure I was comfortable with the work being completed. Everyone was very knowledgeable and professional. I was notified of the cost of the procedure before it was completed so when I was leaving I knew exactly how much I would owe. This is the best dentist office I have ever been to. The office was recommended to me by a friend and I will be sure to recommend this place to others.

I was very happy with my experience at this dentist today! I am one of those people that grew up hating the dentist, so much so that I didn’t go for five years. All the ladies in this office made my experience so comfortable and positive. I am so happy I made the choice to switch to this dentist! Thank you Kris for making my x-ray experience quick and painless! Thank you Jamie for talking me through my teeth cleaning and making it so positive. Dr. Abdulla and her wonderful staff are the reason I will be returning and referring them to everyone I know!

I had made an appointment for March as a new patient in their Bala office. Before I was even seen once, I cracked a tooth. Since I’d already left my other dentist, I called the Bala Office and asked if they could fit me in. It was a Friday afternoon and the office was closing in 30 minutes. They tried to see if a doctor could stay, but unfortunately they couldn’t. Rudi called their Bryn Mawr office for me and the doctor there was willing to stay and see me. What a wonderful practice! All of the staff members there was so helpful and kind. Luckily it was a broken crown, and not a tooth. I go back to Bryn Mawr for my new crown this week. Can’t say enough about how professional and caring everyone was. I might even stay with the Bryn Mawr location instead of Bala (which is closer to my house). Thanks everyone!

Everyone in this office is super friendly, accommodating & professional. The office is immaculate and includes small luxury details like l’occitane soap & lotion in the bathroom, an essential oil diffuser, and a Keurig machine and water cooler for the patients to use. The front desk staff are super friendly and get you checked in/out quickly and efficiently. The hygienists and dentists are so gentle & considerate they even put chapstick on your lips before they begin working so that your lips don’t get dry. They go above and beyond to be sure you’re comfortable the whole time you’re in their chair. My fav. thing though is if you have to get dental work done they give you video goggles to wear so you can watch a movie or tv show while they work on your mouth!! This is awesome and makes the time fly by. Overall the staff are honest and straightforward, they do great work, and the appointments run on schedule with little to no waiting around between hygienist and Dentist.

I felt in control of my appointment from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. The complimentary hand massage was an extra huge treat(!), and they even had time to do my Night Guard molds at the end of the appointment when I decided to do that last minute! I’ve wanted a new retainer for a long time, but never been able to afford one – Dr. Abdulla worked with me to find something in my range and said I could always call in later to have my bite molds done. There was no pressure to get one today or from her office. The best part of my appointment was that I got along excellently with the hygienist who cleaned my teeth–I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing!  This was the best visit I have ever had to a dentist.  I feel like the atmosphere, the knowledge and the customer service at Rittenhouse Dentist is all catered to making the visit comfortable for me.  I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Abdulla.  She was so comforting and knowledgeable when she spoke.  The procedure I had went smoothly for me.  All the ladies there smiled and had a great attitude.  I found my new dentist! Dr. Abdulla is hands down, the best dentist I have ever had. It’s a pretty easy statement to make too, if you have ever been her patient. After reading a few yelp reviews, I decided to go there for a cleaning. It totally blew me away. Netflix, Parrafin Wax treatment, I mean come on! I would come here just for those 2 things! Dr. Abdulla has a really wonderful way of explaining my oral hygiene to me, that no-one has ever really been able to do. It’s a strange thing to want to go see your dentist, and somehow- this place has done it. Anyways, I wanted to thank the entire staff and a special thank you to Dr. Abdulla. My teeth have never been whiter, brighter, and happier.

Dr. Abdulla is the most attentive and caring dentist I’ve ever had! My boyfriend accidentally threw out my invisalign on Labor Day weekend. I quickly wrote Dr. Abdulla an email, she responded instantly and told me not to worry and that I could just move on to the next tray. The only problem was that I didn’t have my next tray. So on Monday (Labor Day) she openeded the office just so she could give them to me. SHE’S THE BEST!

I was a patient at this practice before it was sold. I didn’t love my dentist but could deal with seeing him every six months for 5 minutes when he stopped in to pry my mouth open after the hygenist did most of the work. I found that the practice had changed hands since my last visit but figured a dentist is a dentist and just made an appointment. And I’m so glad I did. I really like the reincarnation of the dental office at 1801 Pine Street. It’s refreshing to go to a dental (or doctor’s) office where customer service is a priority. I didn’t wait long at all which I appreciate, feels like my time is respected and deemed as important as theirs. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everything was high tech but not intimidating. It was just a really nice experience. Dare I say “chic”? Let’s face it, no one LIKES going to the dentist. But for a practice to go out of it’s way to make it as an enjoyable and as pleasant an experience as possible means a lot. And it says a lot about their priorities. Which is their patients. I’m a fan. Hardcore. Kind of looking forward to getting these cavities filled 🙂

This was my 1st visit to this practice and I was so impressed with the thorough nature of the paperwork and COVID questionnaire that was able to be completed online. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hygienist who did my preliminary exam and cleaning was extremely thorough and explained everything in advance to me. The dentist then came in to meet me and explain what my plan of treatment will be. The practice annual dental plan is comprehensive and gives a significant discount for most major dental procedures. All in all…an excellent beginning to what I hope will be a long relationship with this dental practice. Thank you Rittenhouse dentists!!

I came here for a second opinion and Dr. Abdulla was so friendly and explained everything really well. She also recommended a more conservative monitoring of the issue which saved me money and double checked with my insurance to make sure any extra X-rays would be covered. As a bonus, the office staff are SO friendly and went out of their way to call me back to move my appointment up after they had a cancellation. Highly recommend this place and love to support a practice that is all women!

I had been going to the same Dentist for over thirteen years before I moved to the city and had to look for another one. Based on Yelp reviews, I tried Rittenhouse Dentists due to its proximity to me and the stellar reviews. After having multiple appointments with them, I definitely recommend this office. They were extremely friendly and it was an efficient and easy process. After my first visit, I needed to make another and they were able to fit me in the next day. My only wish is that they had some later hours, but I can still make their current ones work!

I recently had my initial patient appointment with this practice and have no complaints — in fact I recommend them highly. As a licensed dentist, and recent dental school graduate, myself, I’m always balancing this inherent skepticism and benefit of the doubt mentality when it comes to assessing other healthcare providers — not only dental related. This practice passed both the “look test” i.e. is it clean, do they use proper barriers/infection control, are the right people doing the right jobs within the practice, and are they using updated technology in line with the standard of care, as well as the “like test” i.e. are things explained well, do they make you feel comfortable, is everyone professional and friendly from dentist to office staff, etc. In both areas they pass with full marks. My initial exam was standard — assessment of goals, extraoral and intraoral photographs (with the dental assistant) full mouth series (X-rays with the dental assistant), cleaning and flossing (by the dentist), examination and review of X-rays (with the dentist), a thorough head and neck/oral cancer screening (by the dentist), and finally areas of improvement (with the dentist). They use digital radiographs (over the old fashion plain films) which are key diagnostic tools, ultrasonic cleaning devices as well as hand instruments for cleaning, and are on an electronic health record. All these things help keep a practice up to date as well making record keeping easier for the patient. As a benefit they accepted my insurance making my initial visit $0. You also can easily find what insurances they accept on their website which is not the case with many healthcare offices (but something I appreciate when screening where to make an appointment). As someone with a sordid history of dental cavities and other issues I anticipate likely needing more extensive dental care in the future and look forward to seeing this practice continue to impress and excel at other aspects of dental/oral care. Of note: I debated whether I should mention being a dentist as well since I didn’t want it to impact the exam/appointment, but in the end I decided to mention it as a professional courtesy. The entire visit was professional, amiable with all parties, and thorough — I don’t think it would’ve been any different had I been anyone else. I’ve already recommended this practice to multiple people in my friend circle and will continue to.

Words cannot express how unbelievably amazing the office is! I am absolutely terrified of the dentist…but the level of comfort and at home feeling you get from the amazing dentists, and tech’s is out of this world. Its like a spa day at the dentist. Dr. Abdullah is absolutely wonderful. Above all things she cares for you; you’re well-being before, during and after the procedure. Every time ive gone ive gotten the same tech, but i dont know her name…Either way she’s just as amazing as Dr. Abdullah. Its not just another procedure for them. You’re a patient and your treated as such. Everyone is patient, you’re greeted with a smile, everything is literally painless, your given entertainment [movies], among other things, to keep you occupied and ease the worry. I’ve had alot of work done in the past few weeks, and they could not have been more accommodating financially. If your looking for quality work and outstanding service please do yourself a favor and book an appointment at Rittenhouse Dentist. I HIGHLY recommend this office…for families and people of all ages. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!

I rave about Rittenhouse Dentists to anyone that will listen. I actually enjoy going to the dentist now because of the experience they provide. The staff members are kind and extremely knowledgeable. You are in and out quickly and even if you have to wait for a bit you can enjoy complimentary wine or coffee. The first time I went in for a cleaning they offered me a moisturizing hand mask and they offer you chapstick after your cleaning. I honestly wish I could go to the dentist more often because Rittenhouse Dentists is awesome!

Very professional!! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I really do not like going to the dentist, so I was very anxious. The Dentist and hygienist were AMMAAZZINNGG. They provided tons of complementary services and provided excellent care. The Dentist has me excited to come back as she numbed me up real good to avoid feeling the pain. Even the next day my mouth was not sore and I went on with life as usual. They offer wine and can keep you entertained while you are there. This place is very classy, upscale and everything you could want in a dentist office. My coworker recommended and she definitely did not disappoint.
