Dr. Huang is – by far – the best dentist I have ever had in my entire life. He is incredibly skilled and has made every procedure I’ve had at River Dentistry (cleaning, fillings, and Zoom) painless…and with optimal results. I never have to wait: here, a 1pm appointment means I am actually seen at 1pm! Sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference. I’ve had 4 appointments here so far, and each one has been great. Above all, I love this dentist office because they are skilled, honest, and upfront. I’ve been to so many shady dentist offices in the past that felt more like used car sales lots. Dr. Huang’s office is nothing like that. Only good things to say about the Dr and the entire staff

I just had Zoom! teeth whitening done at River Dentistry because I had excellent results with an Invisalign treatment earlier this year and they were offering an $89 special for the whitening. I was not disappointed. The technician knew exactly what she was doing and did it efficiently and professionally. Best of all, I love the results. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and it’s always easy to get an appointment. If you’re looking for an excellent dental office, check out River Dentistry with Dr. Charlie Huang and staff. They’re outstanding!

Okay like most out there I dread going to the dentist… I know I know the dentist is your friend right!! We’ll let me tell you I am not longer a dentist scaredy cat I happened to google dental offices in the Los Angeles area and found Dr.Charles Huang. I called the office and was greeted by professional calm front desk. I asked the front desk if the office took my dental plan and she was able to answer all of my questions. I then scheduled an appointment with Dr.Huang, wow least to say I was nervous but Dr. Huang or Dr. Charlie as he is referred to put me at ease and performed the best cleaning I have had in a long time. He then did my full exam and told me I had a few cavities( remember I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while due to my fear). But instead of a lecture which some doctors give Dr. Charlie put me at ease and reassured me the cavities where not a big deal and could be taken care of in one appointment. Soo needless to say I have an appointment with Dr. Charlie in a few weeks and I even have booked my next six month cleaning. What can I say I  have found a great dentist and to boot he is open late and on the weekends which is great for  me and my crazy work schedule. So if you are looking for a kind, professional, knows what they are doing dentist Dr.Charlie is your guy. Thanks again Dr.Charlie and River Dentistry staff for making my dental experience a great one!

Dr. Charlie and the River Dental team continue to surpassed my expectations with each visit.  Dr. Charlie performed a root canal on me and he and his team were so friendly and professional that I was not nervous, at all.  The awesome person at the front desk helped me with all of my insurance related questions and Dr Charlie went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable.  I used to be nervous to go to a dentist for something as simple as a cleaning, but because of Dr. Charlie and his amazing team at River Dental I look forward to my visits because I know with each visit my smile becomes brighter and more confident

It has been years since I visited a dentist. I am considering getting Invisalign braces, I wanted them done correct so i purposely searched for the best and most expensive dentist in L.A.. To my surprise I found a few in fact  many offices were willing to take me once I told them I wanted Invisalign. They totally ignored the fact I haven’t seen a dentist in years a need work prior to getting them, they insisted to do my consultation for my braces first, and I can come back later for cleaning and everything else. Dr. Huang is conveniently located downtown L.A., he has Saturday appointments, when I scheduled I unknowingly had the pleasure to speak with him myself, he got minimum info from me and I attended my first appointment on sat 01/04/14. His staff was so sweet, Vanessa the receptionist is beyond helpful. Jose, student tech ( I can’t believe he’s a student). He’s really gentle and he answered all my stupid questions, and informed me of a few things while taking my x-rays. Dr. Huang is more than awesome! He asked me exactly why do I want braces, and everyone knows invisalign is expensive, however he told me It’s possible for me to get it but because of a bad habit of when I swallow I tend to push my tongue forward & it will only cause my teeth to go forward and having braces will be pointless and a waste of money. He even insisted I think it over for a while, in the meantime I have 9 cavities to take care of. I have a PPO plan where my insurance pays 60% I am responsible for the rest. Vanessa came up with a plan where we divided it up and I do a few at a time plus they gave me a 50% discount on my portion to pay it all totaled to a little under $500. Vanessa told me that my benefits from last year I didn’t use so i have an extra $2000 I can use and if I want apply to my current charges or hold off. My visit was beyond amazing and quick. I’m glad I made the right decision. Dr. Huang is inexpensive and he’s honest; I trust him greatly. The one thing to keep in mind is Dr. Huang, has a strict attendance policy. Before making an appt. make sure you can keep it! He values his work and he does take his time. He spends the appropriate amount of time per patient for everyone needs are different. I have already recommended this offices to 2 people so far and I am dying to show off my results!

Dr. Charles is the best dentist I’ve ever seen. He is kind, patient, and skilled. Those qualities are very important to me since I needed a lot of work done and really had been put off by the bad dentist in North Carolina. He always makes sure I’m not in pain even when my appointment is going over the four hour mark(which is super important since I have a high tolerance to local anesthesia). He worked with me to create a treatment plan that was manageable and reasonable. I’m also happy to say I did not feel judged or shamed for my the condition of my teeth. I really can’t express how grateful I am to have found him since he has vastly improved the quality of my life

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Charlie. Him and his staff have been so great.  I had gone to a previous dentist in Long Beach where they offered me free teeth whitening for going in as a new patient. When I mentioned it to the dentist she said I could do it at home.  It did not take me long to realize I was lured in with a false offer. Well needless to say I only went back to get my x-rays after finding Dr. Charlie. You would not believe when Dr. Charlie reviewed my x-rays he picked up on them placing them backwards. I guess they wanted my new dentist to fail like they did. Boy were they mistaken. I am currently getting a root canal and crown which I was informed was a very painful process. I don’t get the horror stories people warned me about when it came down to getting a root canal and crown. I have had a great experience. Dr. Charlie is so gentle and truly cares about his patients.  Dr. Charlie and his staff will keep asking you throughout the whole visit if you are in any pain, if you have any questions or concerns. They are very professional, friendly and make you feel at ease. They are very thorough in informing you of your options regarding your dental care and needs.  What can I say other then I love the dentist now. Highly recommend you come by

Sometimes the 3rd time is the charm.  After the BS I went through with the two previous dentists I had since moving to LA last year, I found Charles Huang via my insurance directory.  Dentist #2 didn’t do root canals and was a jerk about it, so I had to find someone who did.  That was Charles Huang.  He is fantastic!  I didn’t feel my root canal at all, and he was very meticulous about it. He listened to my sob stories of bad dentist experiences in LA, and was very helpful in showing me what my problems were, and how to fix them.  He has great bedside manner and is gentle, and listens when you need more anesthetic.  And whoever he sends crowns to be made to also does great work.  I had a shoddily-made crown by dentist #1 replaced today with a crown that fits better than a real tooth.  He seems to be an individual motivated to really help people, rather than just help money escape their wallet.  No arm-twisting, upsells or pressure for services you don’t need.  If you have a cavity, you actually have a cavity, no worries with Charles. Lastly, Charles and Adele have been very great in helping me navigate the labyrinth of insurance coverage.  If I could give him 100 stars, I would!

I dreaded the moment when my friend was harping me about going to the dentist; I haven’t been for at least eight years and suffered through both bottom wisdom teeth pushing out out my gums. I already knew I had to get an extraction sooner than later. I may a pact that once I have dental insurance, I will see the dentist, no ifs, ands or buts. Lucky for me, Alana G. went to Dr. Charles beforehand, and I love the work that was done to her. All five times that I went to River Dentistry, and all five times I was pretty satisfied with the results. Why did I waited this long to write a review? I wanted to see if there was a change in pattern during all five visits, and it’s hard to judge something that is dealing with your health in one visit. 1) May 2014: X-Ray and teeth cleaning. I had already warned Dr. Charles that I haven’t been to the dentist in over eight years, and he already could tell the damage that was done. The initial visit was painless, and told me what I needed to have done to get my teeth to tiptop shape. I hesitated about hearing the wisdom teeth extractions, but already knew it had to be done. He managed to clean out a lot of gunk in my teeth and I had a weird empty clean feeling in the back of my bottom front teeth. 2) June 2014: Fillings, left side. I had this schedule on an experimental Sunday, with a different doctor. This doctor was a trial run, yet the doctor was pretty nice and gentle when she was drilling and putting the plaster into my teeth. People were surprised that I had to get numbed for fillings. Afterwards, I kind of figured out why, Dr. Charles wants to minimize as much pain for the patient, and possibly the drilling may have been painful, if one was sensitive to pain. 3) July 2014. Fillings, right side. Dr. Charles personally checked the left side, to make sure the previous doctor’s work was meeting to his standards (which they did). And it seemed that Dr. Charles was a bit quicker than the previous doctor, as my fillings were done in less than 45 minutes. He did warn me if my teeth was slightly uneven after the fillings, to let him know. (There was a small gap before I left, and he managed to fix it. Since then, no problems.) 4) October 2014. Wisdom teeth extraction, right side. The dreaded day of getting both top and bottom wisdom teeth pulled out. Somehow, the process wasn’t as painful as I thought it may have been, granted I was numbed up, maybe a bit too much than I should. Dr. Charles mentioned even if I feel a bit of a tingling of the nerves, to let him know, so he can increase the dosage a bit. Top wisdom tooth came out like a dream; bottom wisdom tooth had some problems, and he did noticed that I did flinch a bit, and gave me a bit more of the shot without me letting him know. After a loud crack (“it’s okay, it’s normal!”), my bottom tooth came out. He quickly moved to stitching the loose flap of my gum with the old-school stitches, because he mentioned it’s cleaner and less of a chance for the stitches to come out. After the entire ordeal, Jose took some time to explain to me how to keep the new holes clean, as well as how my diet will change the next couple days, until my wound/stitches heal. Dr. Charles prescribed some antibiotics and painkillers for me to take the next couple days, just in case. 5) November 2014. Teeth cleaning and check-up of wisdom teeth extraction. Quick and painless.  Just a check up to see how the extraction was healing and to cut off the remaining stitches as well as getting my yearly cleaning. After listening to Dr. Charles six month ago about changing my dental routine (electric toothbrush, flossing every day, mouthwash, the works), he noticed a big difference and mention to continue the healthy habit. He did mentioned a few more things that wasn’t brought up during my initial visit, and I’m considering his opinion, as he has taken care of me during this entire year. Because I recently changed jobs, my dental insurance is kind of in limbo, and I have let the clerk (Vanessa) know about this. She was more than happy to assist me on what I needed to do to continue seeing Dr. Charles. In addition, there were some cancellations in the past, and Vanessa alerted me as soon as possible (phone call and e-mail), and gave me a reschedule date that works around my schedule, and even alert me if and when an earlier time slot opened up. River Dentistry made me less scared about going to see the dentist, and I would highly recommend this place for those who haven’t been to the dentist in a while. From my five visits, I never once felt pressured to do all the procedures that Dr. Charles recommended, and the staff is understanding about the different situations in my life that they are willing to work around them. Best of all, open on Saturdays, so I can use my sick days for “sick days”
