My appointment at Distinctive Dentistry today was great. I was able to be seen for a broken tooth in less than 24 hours as a new patient! Dr. Gemmel, his hygienist, and office staff we’re very experienced and informative. They quickly and painlessly assessed my needs and put together a plan for treatment. I’m happy I chose this dentist office and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist in area!

About a year or so ago I had to look for a dentist in Eugene. I was very nervous about finding one on my own (I am a college student who has only ever used my parents dentists) as dental offices can be kind of scary. That being said, I am so, so happy that I chose to give them a call. Their staff has amazing customer service. Their grounds are beautiful and they work to keep their patients calm and comfortable. I have had nothing but good experiences here and would most definitely recommend them to a friend.

As you can see from my Facebook photo, my teeth were in bad shape. I had severe anxiety, but Dr. Gemmell came highly recommended. I’ve been a patient now for several years, and I can’t say enough about Dr. Gemmell’s shop. Not only am I unafraid of going, but the people there make me comfortable and cared for. Even during cleanings, Dr. Gemmell will often make the time to check in on me. His new partner did the same during my last visit. I need a lot of in-depth, multi-stage work done. The team there made a plan and went through it with me, showing me what needed to happen when, and why, including costs. From there we set up a timeline that would help me use my insurance to advantage, and they’ve even discounted their own work to make the project affordable. On top of that the work they’ve done is amazing. I’m not afraid to smile any more. I’m also not afraid to go to the dentist. For that I kindly thank the staff of Distinctive Dentistry.

I really like my dental hygienist and I love going to the dentist. My teeth get so fresh and so clean after I go. It is awesome and they are totally friendly. I like that I feel welcomed when I come into the office. I have to go every three months because I build plaque very fast so they have to clean it but I am getting better about flossing everyday.

I have been a patient of Dr Gemmell’s forever! His staff are and have always been exceptional. His interest and personal connection invites open and transparent communication while maintaining a professional relationship. I feel safe and well cared for every moment I spend with his practice and recommend them to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

I had a dental emergency after calling literally every where 1-800-dentist found these wonderful people who saw me the very next day , and set me up the extraction next day after that I can’t wait to have this done . The prices were beyond reasonable and they work with you . I can’t thank them enough ! Even though they don’t take my insurance I’ll happily keep paying cash because they were there for me when I needed it the most .

Dr. Gemmel is a Great dentist, and our family really appreciates his services. His dental prices are fair, and he works with each patient to ensure that they get the quality care they need. His staff is SO friendly, and warm, and they know what they’re doing. They called me by my name when I first walked in, and that was a really nice surprise. � They work with you regarding your scheduling needs, and try their best to make appointments that are best for you. (example- I am NOT a morning person��) so for me, we make later appointments. They just really care. Absolutely beautiful building with floor to ceiling windows in the rooms so you have something to look at while you’re sitting in the room, with privacy bushes and lovely greenery. The hygienist was very gentle during the scraping part which made the whole experience a lot more pleasant. They were very thorough during my initial appointment with the amount of x-rays and photos they took, and were even able to squeeze in a cleaning, which was unexpected but very much appreciated. The doctor (Ty) was super talkative and polite, made me feel comfortable and at ease. Would recommend!

Amazing! I have had dental anxiety for awhile, and had not been in quite a few years due to bad experiences. I decided to get my dental health back on track, and am SO happy I chose Dr. Gemmell’s office! At my first appointment I was amazed at how kind and caring my hygienist was. I knew I had quite a few problems but she helped me feel like it wasn’t the end of the world and explained what the next steps would be. I have gone back now for a deep cleaning, and could not have had a better experience! Again, very kind and caring. They explain everything to you and really make sure you are comfortable. There is even options for those who have high anxiety like myself! Would definitely recommend to someone who is hesitant about going back to the dentist after not going for awhile.

I was recommended to Dr.Gemmel after my dentist recently retired and he is absolutely awesome! I’m so glad I went here! Everyone is super nice and fun especially Rebecca Tracy and Michelle! I also had to have a crown put on a tooth and they did such a great job, I would highly recommend them!

I always enjoy my appointments here at Distinctive Dentistry. I’ve met both dentists and they are wonderful! I love how they explain everything that is going on and what the plan is. They feel like they have time for you and your questions without making you feel like you’re inconveniencing them. All the dental hygienists and assistants are wonderful as well. Professional, knowledgeable, and quick with their jobs. I also enjoy speaking with the front desk staff, always patient and professional. Not to mention the building and landscaping is beautiful. No other office in town would take me for an emergency appointment on a Friday. They did an extraction, and I’m someone who’s very very scared of the dentist and for the first time in my life I was not terrified the entire time. It was actually a really smooth process. They didn’t shame me for how awful my teeth are like every other dentist I’ve been to. They just found the problem, offered a solution, we agreed on a plan, then they did it, I feel much better, and now I think my dentist phobia might be cured. Thank you guys!

Dr. Gemmell and his team are a great asset to the community. Every staff member I have encountered is friendly, informative and patient. I have some anxiety around dentists due to previous experiences and after explaining this it really felt like Dr. Gemmell made it his mission to thoroughly explain my treatment plan and every step. Additionally, I felt that he took extra care every step of the treatment to ensure that I felt calm, comfortable and pain free. I cannot give enough kudos and would not hesitate to recommend all friends and family to Dr. Gemmell and his team at Distinctive Dentistry.

If your looking for a dentist in the Eugene area, this is the one for you! Everyone you come in contact with at this office is not only professional, but very personable! I have always felt comfortable when I have come in for dental work. not only has my anxiety gone away about dentists, but the staff is so friendly and comforting that it makes my time getting this necessary work done stress free. They also do their best to get you right in for any urgent dental work that comes up. I just can’t say enough good about them. Go see them, they will not disapoint!

I have been seeing Dr. Gemmell for five years. He has done some extensive work on my teeth taking over a year to go through all the stages to complete the work. At no time did I have any complications. The atmosphere in the office is very welcoming and friendly and they are always on schedule. Go see them, you will not be disappointed.

Really amazing work today. Dr Gemmell conserved a broken tooth for me. Now the titanium post awaits my new crown. So efficient and skillful. And a shout out to office staff who collaborated with one another to help make it happen.

I am a new patient at Distinctive Dental. I had an great first visit.The staff, I met, were friendly and kind. Dr Gemmell did an excellent job explaining what was going on with my teeth. I left the office like I was well taken care of. In addition, the waiting room was a calm and comfortable place to wait, especially before seeing the dentist!

I just had my first appointment since the pandemic, the DD Office was very clean and I was in my chair in less than 5 minutes. The staff have taken every safety precaution so I felt super comfortable throughout my appointment. My dental hygienist was very friendly and professional, she also worked efficiently to keep things moving. Dr Gemmell is the best dentist I have ever had!

I’ve been coming here since 2015 and have had excellent patient experiences every time. I have a lengthy dental history (cavities galore!) and frequent this dental office at least 3x a year. The hygienists, assistants and dentists are all so professional, friendly, and patient. They are gentle on my mouth and always explain what they will do prior to doing it (as a healthcare worker, I understand the importance of this and how easily you can skip this). I recently had an exceptionally good experience with a dental assistant named Gina. She was so good at explaining the reasoning and purpose of each part of my procedure. I am always happy to recommend this dental office to all my friends in town.

Fantastic practice. Professional, courteous and timely. I find more to be impressed with every visit. The amazing skills of the dentists and hygienists are augmented by efficient, friendly and reliable support staff, utilizing the best and latest equipment and techniques. This is the perfect office.

I have had great customer service from this office. Every time I go into the office the front office staff are very friendly and helpful. I recently had a crown completed and 2 more teeth prepped for crowns and am very impressed at how well Tracy works with both Dr. Holland and Dr. Gemmell. They have a wonderful system and things seem to go very smoothly every time.

Great Dentists and everyone in the office is nice and personable. Best coffee table books (I know seems silly but really…they have a selection!) in waiting room, comfortable atmosphere and you feel like they really care and want what is best for you and your health. 5 star!! Oh, and they reward you for referrals and your referral also gets a reward. Tell them I sent you…..!

This is the best dentist experience I have ever had. Being someone who has anxiety when it comes to the dentist, doctor Gemmell and his staff are patient and take the time to explain exactly what they are doing which really helps ease the patient. We have had major work done and the office has been kind enough to allow us to make payments. Best in town by far, they truly care about their patients!
