Dr. Roman Shlafer has helped me tremendously with my severe TMJ problem. I was in constant Jaw pain and needed a Dentist that specialized in this problem and was willing to take the time to analyze my situation. I found Dr. Schlafer on the Internet. He took me seriously, worked with me and carefully analyzed my problem and made the corrections that I needed. My bite is even now and I am out of pain! I have the most beautiful teeth and smile! Thank You, Dr. Shlafer!! I would highly recommend Dr. Shlafer to anyone with a TMJ problem AND to anyone that appreciates excellence in Dental care.

I don’t usually read or write reviews but my experience today is worth writing and worth your time to read. Dr.Shlafer and Mary Beth were both very kind,patient and knowledgeable. This is my new dentist! Staff was all great and left their office after my cleaning with Venice feeling very confident in my choice.

I was referred to Dr. Roman Shlafer by a co-worker, who had been seeing Dr. Shlafer since she was a small child. I felt so comfortabale on my first visit, I knew immediately I would no longer have to seek another dentist. Dr. Shlafer and his staff have such a wonderful presence and they are completely committed to their profession. They go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and if you are feeling and discomfort during any procedure and they explain everything fully what is going on. Sharon is the dental tech that has performed my cleanings, she is absolutely amazing. After my first visit, I immediately made an appointment for my fiancée who was also seeking a dentist. This is our second year using Dr. Shlafer and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have also encouraged my adult children and their families to use Dr. Shlafer. Thank you Dr. Roman Shlafer, DDS!

Dr.Shlafer has been our family dentist for over 15 years. We like the staff, everyone is always so welcoming and polite. They try their best to help you out with any questions or concerns you may have. Besides regular dental care, Dr. Shlafer also does great cosmetic work, always using latest dental techniques and technology.

Dr. Roman Schafer is 100% by far the best dentist you can go to. I was experiencing terrible jaw pain to the point where I could barely open my mouth. I was in constant pain 24/7 & thought that I would never be able to get rid of this excruciating pain. I went to numerous TMJ doctors around Michigan and they wanted me to spend thousands of dollars on methods only to temporarily get rid of the pain without addressing the issue. I felt like no one understood my pain & that no one could help me. However, when I came to Dr. Shlafer, I knew I was strongly mistaken. Dr. Schlafer was immensely kind & extremely educated about TMJ and many jaw issues. He also has helped various people before with issues of jaw pain. He fully listened to me & made me feel very comfortable. He thoroughly explained to me what my options were & what he recommended. In only a short amount of time, he had completely fixed my jaw pain with a procedure called equilibration (which was completely painless). I am now able to bite correctly & to open my jaw effortlessly with zero pain. I am so beyond grateful! —For anyone who is dealing with terrible jaw pain or TMJ, I 100% understand what you are feeling/ going through. It is a scary feeling & it is very painful BUT THERE IS AN END! For someone who had suffered with this pain for almost a year, trust me on this: GO TO DR. SHLAFER! He can help! I can not thank him enough!

I was going to another dentist who didn’t quite get it… after switching to Dr. Shlafer I now know how THE BEST DENTIST ever operates! Dr. Shlafer first treated me for a bite-issue that would not go away. Soon after my first visit I was pain-free! Recently I had an area where food often got stuck – after Dr. Shlafer worked his magic I no longer have that issue. I drive all the way from Highland Township to see Dr. Shlafer — and, it’s well worth it. No matter where you live Dr. Shlafer is the ONLY dentist that I’d recommend. Thanks Doc!

I love Dr. Shlafer’s office. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is so kind and caring – they truly treat you as though you’re family here. From the ladies at the front desk, to the hygienists, to Dr. Shlafer himself, you are always welcomed with a warm smile and a caring heart. I’ve been coming to this office since I was a little girl and now, going on 27, I still feel the same love for this place. Sharon is very gentle on my teeth when cleaning and always so great to chat with! I now have Medicaid and don’t like change. I was quite worried I would have to switch dentists when I got it; however, it turns out, it’s actually cheaper to pay out-of-pocket for my care here than I was paying with my previous insurance. I now know I can stick with my awesome family dentist and not have to go to a corporatized, medicaid dentist who might not give me the same quality of care. If you’re looking for a caring, affordable family dentist – look no further. They’re not out to take your money here, they simply care about your well-being, as doctors should. I will *always* be a client here and I will always recommend that family, friends, and even strangers come here!

I am the world’s worst dental patient. As a child I had a terrifying experience at the local dentist, which left in me a fear that was debilitating. Dr. Shlafer has worked on me many times, and each time I am impressed more than the last, because there is virtually no pain with anything he has done. He is very in tune with his patients and knows just by a person’s body language if they are getting uncomfortable. I had three crowns done the day before Thanksgiving a few years ago and was pain free for the holiday! He is truly amazing, and his work is far superior to the work of others. His hygienists and assistants are friendly, gentle and caring and take all the time needed to make their patients comfortable during cleanings. I highly recommend Dr. Shlafer, he’s 10 stars in my book!

Dr. Shlafer has been my dentist since 1999. He is truly great. When I needed to have my wisdom teeth extracted, I trusted him to do it, rather than going through oral surgery. I have an even deeper appreciation for the quality care and service Dr. Shlafer and his team provide after living out of state for a few years. Dr. Shlafer attention to detail and mastery of his craft is commendable. When I moved back to Michigan, I without hesitation returned to his care. I highly recommend Dr. Shlafer.

I had a very good first visit at Dr. Shlafer’s office. His assistant Mary Beth was very thorough in making sure my medical history was well recorded. The front desk welcomed me upon my arrival as well as the rest of the staff. They were all super nice. Dr. Shlafer gave one of the best preliminary exams I’ve ever had, checking bone degeneration and scanning for cancer. My dental hygienist Sharon was very good in describing what she was doing and what things meant in my dental history. Before I ever left the dental chair, Sharon had my next cleaning appointment set up. Julie at the front desk was also gracious enough to call the Dental Surgeon I was referred to, to help set up my appointment there. All in all it was a great experience and I’m looking forward to getting my dental care from these fine professionals.
