I love going to the dentist but what I love more is going to a place that is so warm, welcoming and so detail oriented. I spoke to Gloria first over the phone and she sounded so cheerful which nowadays is hard to find. I was able to get in the very next day. As I walk in there is an adorable purple roll up blanket and a card with my name on it. My cleaning was super comfortable and my dentist was awesome, funny and attentive to my needs. They go above and beyond to make you feel taken care of. Most definitely recommend this place and will be returning.

I had a chip tooth and a cavity, they did an xray and found the problem and solution right away. Dr. Stangeland told me what needs to be done. Once I gave him the go he didnt hesitate, he went straight to work and fixed my chipped tooth and gave me a filling in less than 2 hours. The most gentle handed dentist. I highly recommend these folks.Also, Super nice people in the office. I live in Redwood Shores didn’t even know they were there, atleast now I do. I hate visiting the dentist based on fear, but with there positive attitude and professionalism I am scared no more.

Dr. Stangeland’s office has given me a WOW experience! I’m a new patient and had my first general dental cleaning and deep cleaning here. The entire team are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I enjoyed the family-like atmosphere and never felt lost. On arrival, I saw a card with my name on it and was immediately greeted by Gloria’s smiling face. She guided me through the check-in process and even provided me with an umbrella for the unexpected, heavy rain. For following appointments, she always reminded me a day before and recognized me when I walked in. The hygienist, Marrisa, is really considerate and thorough. I didn’t have my teeth cleaned regularly; hence, it took much more time and efforts in the scaling and root planning. Marrisa kindly reassigned her next patient and didn’t rush through the treatment. In addition, she advised me to listen to music to calm my nerves and kept checking on me to ensure I don’t experience any pain. My gums are no longer bleeding after the treatment! Dr. Ross spent time getting to know me and reviewing every tooth on x-rays. He explained my oral health status and how to improve it. He’s very professional, attentive, and non-judgmental. I’m so glad to find this place!

I loved my experience with Dr. Stangeland and his awesome staff (especially Gloria and Marissa!). Everyone was simultaneously warm, kind, and professional. I was brushing way too hard on a couple of teeth and actually putting myself at risk of long term damage, and although I’ve been to the dentist regularly all my life no one ever explained in-depth the fine details of exactly what is going on when you brush and exactly how to maximize your efforts. I know we all think we know that, but Marissa (the hygienist) enlightened me a lot! I’m all for prevention versus intervention when possible, and as I leave I’m feeling relaxed (who knew you could leave a dental office feeling relaxed??) and positive about my ability to make sure I continue to have a great smile for years to come. This is a great place!

Dr. Stangeland and his entire staff are awesome! Dr. S. really knows his stuff. And he’s so conscientious about pain management. No one likes dental work, but if you need a filling or crown he is extremely careful to make sure you are sufficiently numb before beginning the work. Pain free every time. Janice is a great hygienist! I was having issues with my gums and she educated me and kept giving me tips and tricks until we finally got my gums and “pockets” under control. She is helpful without being judgmental. Gloria at the front desk is so friendly and professional. She is on top of appointments and billing. She’s great about letting you know if there are cancellations if you want to be seen sooner and if you have an emergency they will always get you in. Everyone is super friendly and top notch!

Voice and Choice are the two most important things that makes this office so special. I am extraordinarily happy with the service and atmosphere of Dr. Stangeland’s staff and office. I am very pleased with the thoughtful kindness and professionalism put into all aspects of my care. I was greeted warmly. I shared that I have physical impairments that are not visible and many accommodations were made for my needs. The thing I am most appreciative of is being given choices in how I would receive information. I was told that some people prefer not know a lot of detail while others do. I am a person that wants a lot of information and they took the time to explain things to me and let me know that there are different avenues that can be explored based on my wishes. I really liked that they focus on what’s specifically important to their patients. I was treated with respect. I appreciate that the office has huge windows to look out of during appointments. Looking at the plants and trees was calming. I was able to go back the very next day to get some fillings. I needed two and Dr. Stangeland was flexible with whether to continue with the second filling based on my physical comfort. He was very efficient and thorough. I was able to sit for both fillings while listening to an audiobook.

I had a bad experience at another dental clinic in the city so I reached out to a friend to get their recommendation on dentist. They recommended Dr. Strangeland’s office which was a bit out of the way for me as I had to take Muni to get to the CalTrain and then a Lyft to get to the office but I feel the elongated trip was well worth it. Upon arrival I was greeted in a friendly manner and had a welcome card addressed to me waiting with a water bottle. The receptionist, Gloria, was extremely friendly and the dentist and dental assistants were also friendly. They actually took the time to get to know me personally and not in a small talk manner. They squared up with me and asked questions about my life, where I was from, personal interest and more. Then when the next person walked in the room they would repeat these things when introducing me to them. Based on some of the more common customer service experiences of “give me your money and get out of here” or “I’ll read a greeting script that I’m required to say but don’t really mean what I’m saying” Ross Strangeland’s office was a refreshing change. After the visit I found that my dental insurance didn’t cover X-rays once a year but it instead it covered X-rays every 12 months so because I went in December of 2017, they didn’t cover April of 2018. Dr. Strangeland’s office waived the charge indicating the amount wasn’t a big deal and they like to take their own X-rays rather than rely on other dentist work who may/may-not have gotten things right. For me this was truly a great experience and even with the commute I’ll be going back when my next cleaning is due.
