I found Dr. Sal through a referral from my sister. I was looking for a dentist who could do a thorough job of cleaning and I found it. His office assistant Esther is so kind and great! I have asked to take my daughter who is 5 and my husband to Dr. Sal this year. Highly recommend Dr. Sal for anyone looking for a great dentist!

Best dentist you will find. Is professional and explains everything clearly and helps make plan of attack. Also compared to the Beverly Hills dentist I went to before is a very reasonable deal for work done. Thanks!

Dr. Sal provided the best dental experience I have had since receiving prizes for being cavity free as a kid. Trying to find a trustworthy and proficient dentist as an adult, off of my parents’ insurance, has been a struggle. I recently purchased dental insurance and my provider listed Dr. Sal as my nearest provider. My first contact was Esther, who helped me make sense my policy’s coverage, was knowledgable, and patient with in answering my questions. Dr. Sal approached me, the patient, in the way a good professor would approach a student. He gave me an overview of what he was doing, checking, and looking for; provided me with much more data about my teeth then I had going in; gave me his professional opinion, and then gave me ownership of caring for my teeth (I.e.; make informed decisions based on the information provided). After leaving the office I felt like I had just sat through a good lecture or podcast. I am now equipped with knowledge about tartar vs plaque, the impact of bacteria to my teeth, real time visuals of my cavities and why addressing cavities early on is beneficial, etc. He really lifted the veil from the face of dentistry that often created fear and critical speculation for me. I highly recommend Dr. Sal. Seriously, how often do you hear someone say, “I went to the dentist, and…I kind of liked it.”? I know it is a bizarre concept, but…yeah, I went to the dentist and I kind of liked it.

My son and I have been going here for more than a decade now. I like how Dr.Sal clearly explains all the procedures. He gives all possible suggestion to help you keep a healthy dental hygiene. My son likes it here because he gets to feed the koi fish after his visits. Esther always have a goody bag ready for us before we leave.

Dr. Sal is a dentist who goes above and beyond! He explains everything he’s doing in regard to procedures and makes going to the dentist seem less scary. He also provided a nice baggy with floss, a toothbrush and toothpaste. Overall, I would definitely recommend Dr. Sal to everyone, especially for children and people looking for a new and reliable dentist.

Dr. Sal is my favorite dentist ever! He is kind and gentle. Before I started seeing Dr. Sal I never actually had a dentist clean my teeth. The dental assistants were always the ones who did the cleanings. I love that Dr. Sal does everything himself. Also, there is never any waiting and he never overbooks. Ester at the front desk is a great gal too!

Don’t you hate going to dentists? Not only is it a pain to get an appointment that will work for you, but having to go midweek during your lunch hour cost time, money, and causes stress. Then there’s the fear of physical pain that you may have to endure. Well, those were always my concerns for years – well, until I starting coming here. Now the office is not “In-network” for those with dental insurance, which means you’ll pay more out of pocket to see him, but let me explain why this is worth it. Most of my company sees the same dentist, and they ask me why I see Dr. Pimentel – I say I see him because I’ve never had a problem with him, he is very friendly, and talks you through what he’s doing so he’s keeping you very well informed. After giving in to their “you’ll save a lot of money” badgering, I went to see their dentist. Well, 2 longer than 1 hour appointments later, a tongue that bled for 4 days, and being terrified of stepping back into a dentist’s office again – NO THANKS. I’d much rather go out-of-network and pay a little more to see Dr. Pimentel and NOT be terrified, not have to come during the week (Saturday appointments!) and not have my tongue bleed because of other DDS’s unsteady hands! All that makes my Saturday morning trips to see him that much more worth it. One last thing – when you make an appointment here, you aren’t sharing an appointment with other patients. You have his undivided attention, unlike other dentists who shuffle around between 5 patients – which is why the appointments are way over an hour.

I was Dr. Pimentel’s patient from 2004 until 2017, when I moved away from the area. I have been very pleased with the quality of care for 6-month checkups, x-rays, and and couple of fillings and crowns.

Excellent dentist who evokes a very personable and professorial demeanor. Dr. Sal is friendly and explains his work in detail. He also spends the time to explain patient responsibilities and dental hygiene in a very educational format. His office is very caring, and front office staffer Esther also serves as dental assistant. What is unique is that it is a small, personalized experience. Dr. Sal’s office is self-contained and feels like a community dentist from a small town. He does all his own work, including cleanings. Positives: Dr. Sal has a great foundation of knowledge with his stellar educational background. He also dedicates himself to helping others: In his office I saw a placard of recognition for his charity work in underserved communities helping provide access to dental work. He has a great deal of experience from which to draw. I’m giving Dr. Sal a 5 because that’s how good he really is. That doesn’t mean there aren’t considerations, though. You may want to consider whether you’d like to go to a smaller, traditional office, like his, or to a larger, busier office with the latest technologies. Technologies are great, but they certainly don’t have an upper hand to skill, as I learned through experiences, sadly. With a bigger office one may also encounter very well trained dental hygienists who offer their own benefits with a different perspective. You may also just simply pay more in one of the newer offices. All-in-all Dr. Pimentel’s office provides a great balance between service, skill and patient comfort. Thanks Dr. Sal.

Got referred to Dr. Sal by a coworker, and have been going to Dr. Sal for 6 to 7 years. From fillings to veneers to regular cleanings, I am very satisfied with Dr. Sal! I have referred friends to Dr. Sal and they are also very satisfied. Prices for services are very reasonable, compared to other dentists I’ve had in the past. Dr. Sal’s assistant and secretary, Esther, is just as nice and welcoming as Dr. Sal!

I like going to this office.  The service is top-notch.  The office is on the smaller side so you receive very personalized care.  Dr. Sal does all procedures himself and he explains everything that he is doing.  The office is very punctual and in return, they ask for your timeliness as well.  Appointments can be tough to get, especially at year’s end. Bonus: office is open on Saturdays!  If you are looking for an excellent dentist and staff, you must consider Dr. Sal!

Bonbon H. from Pasadena, CA (Source: Yelp)

Dr. Sal is fantastic! I’m very paranoid about my teeth due to bad genetics and have had my share of bad dental experiences. Have been going to Dr. Sal now for years, with a break in the middle when I had an HMO policy that covered dental care–turns out, it was a terrible experience! Not only did the in-network dentist try to upsell a ton of procedures I did not need, it also ended up costing more with all the fees! Overall, Dr. Sal is incredibly patient on explaining all procedures and costs and Esther is a sweetheart. I love that the office is small and they really take their time with the patients. Highly recommended.

I’ve had the same family Doctor for over 20 years and the same tax professional and optometrist for 10 years so I don’t think I’m necessarily the problem when it comes to Dentists. I’ve gone to 4 different dentists over the last few years and my experiences have varied from barely acceptable to awful. Most of my displeasure has not been with the actual dentistry but the “used car salesman” feel of the up charging and office management. There was only 1 yelp review for Dr. Pimentel and it was positive. With the combination of my company insurance being accepted and the location nearby I gave him a try and I am so very happy that I did. It is a very small office with a family feel and only 2 work stations. Dr. Pimentel does the cleaning and prep himself and is very friendly and professional. Ester both runs the office and assists with procedures and she is delightful as well. He explains everything that he observes and what he is doing and how much longer it will take. He is also extremely alert to what may be uncomfortable and makes every effort to correct. He is an educator at heart and gives the background and variables on each situation and goes out of his way to be anything but pushy. I have a lot of dental work that needs attention and had a fear of both pain and embarrassment with concern for the costs but not anymore. He has explained what he thinks is important and what can wait with respect for my schedule and expense. My only concern about this writing is that he may become so busy that I will have to make my appointments further in the future. Howard H
