Dr. Romano has been our family dentist since the 80s. I had terrible experiences with dentists prior to finding Dr Romano. His gentle manner and patience overcame my fears and I no longer grip the chair until my fingers turn white. Dr. Romano’s staff is exceeding kind and gracious as well. The atmosphere is calm and gentle, a great first impression for the apprehensive Dr. Romano also had to overcome some challenging dental issues as well as my fears and together we worked to build a healthy smile. I highly recommend Dr. Romano and his incredible staff.

If I could give this dentist and his staff 1 million stars, it still would not be enough, I have been going to him for almost 20 years and he is painless, yes, you heard me correctly. Just as skilled as he is, he is kind and a very caring doctor. I cannot thank him enough for his outstanding skills and kindness during my recent root canal. The tooth was so painful and such a problem until Dr. Romano did his magic. I would never go to another dentist, he is one in a million. Also, his dental assistant (I don’t remember her name) was so kind and skillful. She made me feel so comfortable during the procedure and genuinely cared about me and my comfort. Of course, I adore Kay from his office, who cleans my teeth. She is absolutely my favorite hygenist in the world. In sum, Dr. Romao has a very special office and it begins with him.

We have recently moved from Madison, NJ and are realizing how much we will miss Dr. Romano and his wonderful staff. For the past 20 years my husband and I have been his patients. Sam truly enjoys working with his clients, and it is obvious that he loves his work and the challenges it presents. He and his office are up-to-date on the latest technology, and he thoroughly explains the work he will perform. Sam and his staff really get to know their clients thus creating a relaxing visit. Various times my husband and I have had need of emergency dental care, and he and his staff made sure that it was received either that day or the next day. Sam or a staff member always then followed up to make sure everything was OK. Speaking of his staff, I have never encountered one who was not professional, competent and welcoming. Over the years, our primary dental hygienist, Kay, did a superb and thorough job, and she, too, became a friend. How wonderful it is to know you are in the hands of professionals who are so caring and totally able to provide the highest level of care. By the way, Sam continues to volunteer his services both locally and in other countries. Both of us agree that our experience with him and staff was “as good as it gets!”

After past bad experiences with my former dentist, I did not go to a dentist for over 20 years. My former dentist told me the novocaine could not reach the nerve, due to scar tissue in my gum. Anyone’s worse nightmare not being able to get numb during dental work. Last year I was having dental problems, but fear stopped me from seeking a dentist. What a weight on my shoulders knowing I had to go, but was too afraid. My cousin who lives in South Orange travels to Madison to see Dr Romano. She too was afraid of dentists. She told me ” I would never be afraid again” if I went to Dr Romano. So I made the call. Dr Romano and his entire staff are caring attentive and professional. Dr Romano listened to me and my fears. After a thorough examination he assured me he could ” numb me up” pretty good, and he has multiple times already. It is such a relief now to go to the dentist without being afraid or anxious. I have sleep apnea and snore, probably since the last 15-20 years. I have had multiple sleep studies found to confirm the apnea. My wife can has confirmed to me that I snore. I have tried a CPAP device to remedy the apnea multiple times, as recently as 2013. I found I did not like either the idea of wearing that contraption for the rest of my life, not did I like the feel of the device itself. I could not get used to air blowing into my airway all night or the headpiece. After pushing for other options, I was recommended to go to Dr. Romano as it looked like I might be a candidate to use an oral appliance. I had tried one of the cheap “do it yourself” appliances you see in the back of magazines a few years back, with no effect on my snoring let alone my apnea. I went to see Dr. Romano in 2014 and he felt based on the results from the sleep studies that an oral appliance might help me. Dr Romano fitted me with an oral appliance designed to address both the apnea and the snoring. It was a painless process to get fitted. As of March 2014, I started wearing the device. After about four weeks he did another sleep study (a simple process you can do at your home) to confirm the results. The result have been very positive, both from the quantitative apnea data he tested me on, as well as the qualitative data I have been collecting myself since I started wearing it. My wife tells me my snoring is almost completely gone, even when I’m on my back (when I used to snore the most). Overall, I have been sleeping better and felling better in the morning. My sleep apnea index is down almost 68%. The number of times in a night when my oxygen level falls below the acceptable level is down 93%. As part of the treatment program I signed up for, Dr Romano is working with me to see if we can take those apnea numbers down even further. I consider the oral appliance a big success, and want to thank Dr. Romano for his work. This solution may not be from everyone, but if you suffer from sleep apnea or snore, I would suggest going for a consultation with Dr. Romano to see if you are a candidate. He uses modern tools and techniques, so he should be able to quickly determine if he thinks he can help you.

Not only does he provide terrific “maintenance,” but on at least two occasions, he’s helped me with dental emergencies such as cracked teeth and dislodged fillings. Dr. Romano is awesome! I have Sjogren’s Disease which can get tricky regarding dental issues. Also, I have another condition with nerve damage that affects nerve pain in my face. I was referred to Dr. Romano by my Family Dentist when I needed an implant so I reached out to Dr. Romano his staff could not have been more professional or helpful with the insurance and the payment options and the scheduling of the implant. I moved to NJ about 4 years ago and of course I did a wonderful job of putting off the task of finding a quality dentist in the area. I had the same “family” dentist my entire life, so I was a bit apprehensive about going to a new one. I found Dr. Romano, who seemed to have wonderful reviews, so I figured I would give him a try. When I called to schedule an appointment, I found that it was very simple and accommodating. They used text messaging and email (or however you prefer) to confirm the appointments, which I liked. The office was spotless, the staff was amazing, Dr Romano is very thorough and knowledgeable. I would consider myself a kind of “professional patient “, as I have a huge medical history and about 7 specialists as my physicians. I know doctor and dentist and orthodontist offices all too well. I would rate Dr. Romano’s office as highly professional and second to none. He is able to combine the “human touch” with the latest developments in electronic communication and dental practice technology. Moreover, he seems to find time(when he’s not volunteering his services to third world countries) to take the latest classes each year in dental medicine. I don’t know any medical professional who does that, besides Dr. Romano.
