I moved to the area over a year ago from Florida. I was referred by my former dentist to San Marcos Family Dental. I have never been to a dentist office that has made me feel so comfortable receiving services that I’d get so relax during whatever the procedure and almost go to sleep….Ok, so I dozed. From the time I enter the office, to during services and then checking out, the staff and dentists demonstrate courteous professionalism. They are polite, personable, just REAL. I appreciate how they explain what they’re doing initially, during the service, and the time spent covering after service Q & A if needed. They get an A+ and a  for Excellent Customer Service. I enjoy the atmosphere while there and feel as those they genuinely care about providing quality services. Thanks for the EXCELLENT care you provide! San Marcos Family Dental is the best dental place I’ve ever been to. Both Dr. El-Maasri and Dr. Reppas are extremely caring and gentle. The staff is wonderful also. Very clean office and always on time! Best ever.

I moved here from Los Angeles and I was apprehensive about finding a new dentist, lucky for me I found Dr. El-Maasri ! My experience was amazing. The office was modern and luxurious. They take the time to explain every aspect of your examination. Highly recommend if you need an amazing general dentist go here! This is how all dentist offices should be!

San Marcos Family Dental is by far the best dental practice I’ve been to. The staff go above and beyond and are extremely kind, caring and talented. I have never felt more comfortable at the dentist and actually look forward to my. next visit! I highly recommend this practice!! They are down to earth and treat everyone like family. Based on previous experience with dentists, my husband and I are always very skeptical when trying new places. I get home from an 8-5 job and he appears to be doing his own surgery (mirror, gauze, pliers, gloves). He’s cracked his molar (18). It’s hard to find an emergency dentist, but after calling around and checking reviews, I came across San Marcos Family Dental. Called 45 minutes before they closed, received exceptional customer service, then was told that they could see us right away! We jumped in the car and arrived with 20 minutes until they closed. He was taken back immediately while I filled out the paperwork. The entire staff was incredible not just with him, but also with me. We have a tooth extraction and bone graft scheduled for Tuesday. Will update afterwards.

Best dentist appointment ever. Dental hygienist and dentist were thorough and explained everything. My cleaning was excellent. I was asked if I was ok and if I had any questions a few times through out the appointment. I was even offered water. I went in nervous and came out with a cleaner healthier smile. It was definitely not as bad as I thought 🙂 FYI As I was looking for the dentist office, I got lost. I called the dentist office and was told they were located in the City Hall building next to the San Marcos library. The office also advised me to park on the 2nd floor of the parking garage because the first floor is time limited. I went all the way up to the 3rd floor, parked by the elevator and took the elevator down. I’d say leave a little early if you’ve never been here before, otherwise you may risk being late like me. I love San Marcos Family Dental! From start to finish, their service and attention to detail is above your expectations. Quality of their work is superb and have been satisfied with their dental care since day one. All ages served. I was especially happy with my last visit- Katrina, the hygienist, did a fantastic job and also recommended the new Oral B power toothbrush which is a new world to daily cleaning. I took all three of my grandchildren to this facility and they received excellent care. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a local dentist. Not only are they excellent dentists, but their office personnel was very knowledgeable about all the insurance aspects required for their care. Thank you.

The team at San Marcos Family Dental is second to none! Everyone is inviting, warm and welcoming. Even better, these folks genuinely enjoy what they do and are fantastic at their jobs. In addition, the wait times are minimal and cleanings are done effectively and efficiently! They do not suggest unnecessary procedures but offer suggestions and advice when needed. I could not be happier with the service provided by the team at San Marcos Family Dental!

I’ll start this off by saying I’m 24 years old and have NEVER been to a dentist. I was pretty nervous and had no idea what to expect. Upon arrival I was greeted by extremely friendly reception. Their office is SO CUTE, perfectly decorated! You wouldn’t think the small details matter but they do when your mind is racing wondering how the first visit will go. Gardenia the dental assistant (hope that’s the correct spelling) was super helpful and kind! She sat and talked with me while we waited for my X-ray results. She was very knowledgeable about the dental practice. By the end of the visit I felt like I really got to know the Dr. and all the staff I had the pleasure of interacting with. Thank you for making this experience so easy and informative. For a first time patient I am thoroughly impressed!

Dr Joanna is a very gentle dentist and really cares about her patients health. I highly recommend San Marcos Family Dental in San Marcos and Dr Joanna El-Maasri is a great dentist.

Came in for my first appointment yesterday and absolutely loved it! Joanna was my dentist and she explained everything really well as she was checking my teeth. It was the first time I actually enjoyed going to the dentist, would definitely recommend. Update: After being a patient for Dr. El-Maasri for over a year, I decided to do invisalign braces with her to correct a small gap I had in my teeth. Having had regular braces before, I knew the discomforts that came with them and didn’t want to deal with it in my 20s. Doing invisalign was the best decision I made because not only did it correct my teeth in a short amount of time, but also no one had noticed that I even had braces! I 100% recommend anyone to do invisalign ESPECIALLY with Dr. El-Maasri who checked in with me throughout the entire process to make sure I was getting the best results out of them! Highly recommend this office- especially if you’re nervous about visits to the dentist! They do everything they can to make your visit a breeze from your choice of music, a gorgeous office, and even blankets if the office is cold! (I’m not kidding, I just mentioned being cold and then I’m laying back in a chair all cozy while they pulled a tooth and I can’t imagine going anywhere else since). Dr. El-Maasri is so nice and incredibly knowledgeable and her staff are all just as great! Amanda at the front desk is so sweet and accommodating to crazy schedules. The hygienist, Katrina, is very thorough and full of helpful tips to keep your teeth and gums healthy. This office has made me not dread dentist appointments:)

I have had my biannual teeth cleaning, purchased a mouth guard and recently had a crown at San Marcos Dental. I like the fact that Dr. El Maasri is educated and experienced with the most up to date dentistry practice. Clean office, digital x-rays, experienced staff and great location.The mouth guard has really helped reduce pressure from grinding my teeth at night. While I experienced some normal discomfort with the crown procedure, she worked very fast, was very patient and gentle while I had to take intermittent breaks for my tension headaches. She removed my very, very old mercury filling and I feel better that my tooth will be protected by the strength of the crown. She explained everything thoroughly.

Absolutely the best dental office in North County. I’ve seen Dr. El-Maasri in the past, and she couldn’t have been any sweeter. A week ago I started having excruciating pain on my tooth, I called after hours and received a call back within 2 hours (Saturday). Dr. Reppas was able to get me in first thing Monday morning. Turns out I needed a root canal. Dr. Reppas made me feel so comfortable about getting the procedure. He was so gentle and constantly asked how I was doing. I didn’t even notice I had been in the chair for hours. His staff was amazing. I cannot remember his assistants name (I’m so sorry) but she was the best, so kind and warm. Miguel, was also so caring and sweet. I would definitely recommend. Such a gem. (Oh and they play the best music, too)

I would give 10+ if I could! My sister recommended this office as I am new to this area. This office located on San Marcos Blvd., inside the City Hall – on second floor. From the time appointment was made to when I went into the office, communication from this team was amazing. My first consult with the office was also a breeze. Very professional and friendly staff puts you at ease (I mean, who enjoys going to doctor’s office?). Fast forward to today : After my first consult, I was scheduled for a deep cleaning in July. After getting home after few hours, I received a call for a new appointment time which was today! My appointment was scheduled for 2 hours but it really felt like total process only took 20 minutes! Miguel, their dental hygienist kept me informed of each step of the procedure and also kept me calm throughout the process. I can honestly say, I have never been to a dentist offfice where I left with feeling like I made a new friend. I definitely recommend this office and will be booking an appointment for my husband in the near future. Thank you for the warm welcome to this new city and family environment where I know I can count on for my dental hygiene.

First time patient, was very unhappy with my last dental office.  Was seen on time, front office staff was excellent, first met by Dr. Joanna El Maasri, and than had a cleaning by  Miquel, the hygienist.  Treatment & staff were excellent.  Would highly recommend, in fact after I left I text my daughter a copy the San Marcos Family Dental’s business card and said this is your new dentist/office.

I can’t say enough good things about this dentist office!  From the staff, to the dental assistance, to the dentist they are all top notch!  Extremely profession, and friendly and personable at the same time.  I have had my share of poor dentist and am so thrilled to have found San Marcos Family Dentist!  A wife, husband team that are amazing at what they do!  You won’t be disappointed.  The office is bright, clean and a nice atmosphere.  Coffee or water while you wait.

I highly recommend San Marcos Family Dental! Dr. El-Maasri and her staff are the best! The office is very clean and everybody is extremely knowledgeable. Dr. El-Massri is straight forward and tells you what you do or don’t need. Plus, she’s super gentle.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to the dentist. In my experience, a visit to the dentist is not generally the most enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. I was told about this dental office by a friend of mine and I was so impressed that I felt I had to let others know. I never thought that I could feel so comfortable in a dentist office. I felt compelled to write this review because if I can just help one person avoid an awful visit to the dentist then I would make the world a better place. I definitely recommend San Marcos Family Dental because they are the best. Thanks  Dr. El-Maasri!

Dr. El-Maasri has done an incredible job taking care of my family’s dental needs.  The new facility is absolutely state of the art, it also also very cool that she grew up in San Marcos.   Glad to have this resource practically in my back yard !!!  Five stars, as good as it gets, could not pick a better place for my 300th review !

Dr. El-Maasri is very professional but also fun and down to earth. She makes the painful experience of getting my once a year teeth cleaning (I’m trying to work on that) go by fast and as painless as possible. Since my gums are pretty sensitive she used a flavored topical numbing cream that helped soothe my nerves as she scrubbed away at my plaque buildup. Turns out I have terrible bacteria festering under my gums due to my lack of flossing. Well the Doctor whipped out this really cool laser (I’ve never seen one before but it was awesome) and stuck it just below my gums to kill all the bacteria. I couldn’t feel a thing and immediately saw a difference in my inflamed bottom layer at the end of the cleaning and laser process. I promised I would be better about flossing, and with this new dental plan that I’m on because I don’t have dental insurance, it’s really affordable to get my 6 month cleanings and be more regular with taking care of my smile. It is after all the first thing anyone sees when they meet me. I want to thank the staff and Dr. El-Maasri for being extremely helpful, attentive and personable during my visit. I especially like the sweet music tunes that were playing. It wasn’t boring elevator music and also helped with distracting me. One last thing to rave about with this Dental office, it is absolutely immaculate. The cleanest, prettiest and most inviting office I’ve ever been to. Very bright and airy, but isn’t on the first floor. I just hate having people walk by and stare at me while I’m getting my teeth worked on.
