Today I had some dental work done by Dr. Phan and even though she’s been our dentist for 3.5 years, today was the first time I had actual work done. Dr. Phan and her assistant Carolyn were very good and knowledgeable. Dr. Phan was gentle and I barely felt the shot. My crown prep, and 2 fillings went pretty smooth, especially since Dr. Phan had her work cut out with me. I was completely shocked to hear that my permanent crown will be ready for me by tomorrow, which was great news to me. Hats off to Dr. Phan and her assistant Carolyn too..thank you so much..5++++++ stars from me… I would like to give a shout out to my favorite hygienist, Stacy, she has not only cleaned my teeth for at least 25 years, and she’s the one I ask for, I feel very comfortable when I’m in the chair with her as she is very gentle, funny, and takes the time to bond with her patients, and on top of it, my teeth look so shiny and bright afterwards…Stacy gets all stars in my book. 5+++++++ Mara is the person who runs the show, she is kind, informative, and I have known Mara for almost as long as I’ve known Stacy, whenever I need to call the office, I’m always very glad when she answers the phone…hat’s off to Mara at the front desk…5++++ stars for Mara !!!

Words cannot describe how grateful I am for Dr. Phan and San Mateo Dental Arts. I suffered a traumatic injury which displaced two teeth on a Friday night. Dr. Phan opened the office for me at 8:00 AM on a Saturday to perform an emergency procedure. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to have to sit around for another day with literally two of my front teeth pushed back into my mouth. She saved me from a considerable amount of pain and put me very quickly on my road to recovery. The care was not only medically exceptional considering the injury, but also invaluable to my emotional state. Everyone in the office was sympathetic and supportive during a very traumatic time and I could not have asked for better patient care. I am extremely grateful that my follow up and further procedures will be with Dr. Phan and San Mateo Dental Arts. Gillian

Dr. Phan has been my dentist for the past several years. I’ve always had such a great experience with her. I’m SO glad to see that she’s finally open her own dental office in San Mateo! The location is so much more convenient for me. Easy to get to by car and free parking structure for patients! Marah, the receptionist, was super kind and made me feel at home. I love the state of the art technology at the office. She has an intraoral camera to point out all of the problem areas that she sees in my mouth. Pretty cool! She also has digital x-rays, which is more eco-friendly and shoots out less radiation. Unlike other dentists that I’ve been to, Dr. Phan actually takes the time to get to know me and to discuss the treatment options with me. I’m not exactly a fan of going to the dentist…but I needed a lot of dental work done and Dr. Phan took good care of me. She’s always been very gentle and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedures. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a new dentist!

In addition to the good cleaning, I received some good information on a probable cause of some very mild tooth sensitivity that the Dr. had picked up in reviewing my previous x-rays. I feel much better informed about the probable cause and know now what would need to be done if it were to get worse.

Came here to San Mateo Dental Arts because my dentist was still closed due to the SIP and was not planning to open until Aug. Found this place in thanks due to the glowing reviews posted by fellow Yelpers. When I called, I lucked out and they had a last min cancelation and was able to see me the next week for a teeth cleaning! Prior to my visit, there was plenty of communication and follow-up from the office. They will email and text you reminders and address to make sure you know where and when to go. For those new and looking, they have moved recently to150 N San Mateo Dr. Apparently they have a parking lot you can use at Monte Diablo Ave, however street parking was plentiful when I arrived so that was a non-issue. Everyone in the office was polite and friendly. Dr Sheena was very knowledgeable and thorough in explaining to me my x-rays and making some suggestions. And Stacey was a great hygienist who kept the whole procedure there entertaining and fun. Although this new office is now a bit farther away from my house, I will definitely consider them for all of my future dental needs!

As a first time visitor, I had a seamless experience with Dr. Phan and her team. From registration, to cleaning to x-rays, the team was super helpful and helped me get in and out – while understanding what steps I needed to take next to keep my teeth and gums in good health. They were gentle on my teeth and always updated me with what they were about to do – something small, but it meant all the difference.

Excellent experience here, and I’m looking forward to returning. Clean, beautiful dental office where they practice impeccable safety protocols without removing warmth. The dental hygienist was thorough but gentle, and my dentist gave me very helpful insight about how to better preserve the health of my teeth. They didn’t push products nor recommend any unnecessary procedures. Overall a wonderful experience and I’m happy I found them.
