You can’t find a more kind, professional and knowledgeable dentist than Dr. Dan Schweitzer. I really can’t say enough about him, you just get that feeling from beginning to end that you are in the best of hands. He’s conservative with his treatments, operating from a deep source of experience and expertise as both a professor of dentistry and third generation dentist. I know it is hard to love a dentist but I really do love this practice. When I started going there, I went to Dr. Bob. He retired, so now I go to Dr. Dan, and sometimes, Dr. Ken takes care of me. Everybody in the office is kind and helpful and professional. I am always taken on time. Their prices are top-tier but so is the work, and if you need to pay in installments, they’re willing to work something out with you. I could pay a lot less if I went to a DMO via my dental insurance, but I wouldn’t switch for the world. I give Schweitzer & Schweitzer 5 stars (now, can somebody please invent a painless Novocaine needle?).

Schweitzer & Poole is a family owned dental office that I believe consists of three generations of Schweitzer’s with the eldest now retired. I started off here since my parents went, then my brother, and now me. Though costly if you’re paying out of pocket, my elderly parents who have been through enough dentists, know these are the ones they absolutely trust, and are thrilled. I have to agree. All the doctors and nurses/assistants in this office are professional, patient (very important especially when dealing with dentists who are about to drill into your mouth as you sit there nervously), and kind. I have not found any of the doctors to be stuck up – they consult with other doctors if needed, speak kindly to each other, and thus, are kind with you. Excellent magazine choices in the waiting room – parents, teens, gossip, elderly, home related, fashion.

The staff and doctors are very welcoming, professional and knowledegable. Going to the dentist is something I dread, however this office makes me feel comfortable each time I do go. I have been to their office for more then 10 years and have never had a bad experience. It’s easy to schedule an appointment and wait time is not long, making things easier for my busy schedule. I went to see Dr. Daniel Schweitzer because I had to loose my front tooth. As horrifying as that was, I had a wonderful experience. Dr. Schweitzer and his staff are skilled professionals. His assessments were accurate and treatment options were appropriate. I was impressed with his knowledge and advice, as well as his friendly attitude and people skills. The staff was attentive and helpful and a pleasure to be around. In particular, Cookie, the clinical assistant, was caring and knowledgeable. And Orlando, the lab technician, was a total pro. His attention to detail when making my new tooth was unbelievable. He was able to recreate both the perfection and imperfection of my tooth, so my smile looks completely natural. Overall, great, positive, and even enjoyable experience at the dentist.

I’ve been using Schweitzer & Schweitzer for more than 20 years. Their family’s been in the dental business for three generations, and I’ve worked happily with two of them. Of all the dental practices I’ve gone to-which is quite a few–S&S is my favorite. Dan, my dentist, never suggests work that isn’t necessary. When I have a problem, it’s always resolved quickly. Dan is careful, thorough, conservative and nice. So is my hygienist. Actually, everyone is really pleasant. And I trust everyone. In addition, the office is conveniently located, near lots of subways. That always helps. All things considered, S&S is a find.
