I was vacationing in Oceanside and broke a tooth with no idea where to turn. I selected Dr. Carmichael from many Google offerings, for his proximity to my location and his good Yelp reviews. To my surprise, even as a new patient he was able to see me the next day, a Saturday. The repair was done quickly and effectively, and with a friendly chair-side manner. I highly recommend Dr. Carmichael.

I‘ve been going to Dr. Carmichael for years after my parents switched from unpleasant and shady dentists. He and his staff are kind, knowledgeable, and – I haven’t seen it mentioned here yet – FAST. They definitely operate smoothly. Most importantly for me, I always feel comfortable in their care. Dr. Carmichael has a soothing way of talking while his hands are at work. It means a lot for a dentophobe like me.

Dr. Carmichael is by far the best medical professional I’ve been to. His staff is great, the wait is always short, and there’s things for kids to do in the waiting room. I almost didn’t want to recommend him since he might get too popular and stop taking patients.

This place isn’t super fancy, it has your local small town feel. First off, let me say this dental office has the nicest and the most helpful staff I have ever met. I came 15 minutes early and right when I stepped into the front door they already knew who I was. They both introduce themselves to me with warm smiles. Minimal paperwork and they don’t rush you with insurance information or co-pay. They make sure you have all the information you need and that you understand it as well. I was lucky enough to know one of the dental hygienist, Michelle, she is a total sweetheart. The other hygienists were very friendly as well. Dr. Carmichael came into the exam room immediately after I did, he had a big smile and friendly attitude. I went into this dental office with the fear of needing some costly dental work according to a previous dental office I went to. He took a 10 minute look at my teeth and explained to me that I had a discoloration of a filling and it could have easily been mistaken as a cavity. I asked him to take some x-rays for my peace of mind. He’s very gentle when examining and working on your teeth. I would also like to compliment him on not giving me a hard time for my piercings around and in my mouth. Too many times have I been harassed about them. He doesn’t try to slap patients with unnecessary procedures. He’s honest and you can tell that all he wants is you to have a healthy mouth. The prices are extremely reasonable. I didn’t feel ripped off and I didn’t feel neglected as a patient. Don’t go anywhere else!!! This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Many thanks to Dr. Carmichael and his awesome staff!

2nd time visitor, first time reviewer. Came in for routine cleaning on both occasions. Be forewarned: $75 for cleaning off you don’t have insurance -or- they don’t accept the one you do have. In my case, I had Kaiser Permanente insurance which they didn’t accept, and so I paid 75 DOLLARS to have my grill polished. Service was genuinely friendly and very speedy. I even got a gratis toothbrush and some floss at the end. I’d definitely return if I switched my insurance out.

Our whole family sees Dr. Carmichael!  He is wonderful.  I am an extremely nervous patient.  However, I am so at ease in his office. He is very kind and gentle, even my two boys can’t wait for their checkups.  When I first went to see him I was quoted by another dentist thousands of dollars in dental work I did not need. He is genuinely invested in caring for his patients’ well being.

Dr. Carmichael provided me a great service as I called his office to see if I could get a veneer re-bonded. His office was able to get me in on very short notice. He is careful, thorough, friendly and honest. I walked out half an hour later, with the veneer being more comfortable than it was before. The staff is courteous and caring. The office itself is unpretentious but perhaps that is why this dentist is affordable. I consider this dentist a very fortunate find. Many dentists today seem to be more about upselling un needed treatments than doing what is right be their patients.

I just recently retired from the Marine Corps so I had to find a regular ole dentist since the United States Navy wasn’t providing one anymore. I had heard from a few friends that Dr. Carmichael was great. So I made an appointment for a cleaning and a check up. I have to say that it was by far the best dentist experience I have ever had. Trust me on this one, because I hate the dentist office. I have avoided them from years. But not any more. Thanks Dr. Carmichael and staff!

This place was great. I wasn’t bombarded with a bunch of fancy furniture, flat screen tv’s. You know, when they show you how they’re spending your money. Im a cash patient because I don’t have any insurance and I was very close to driving down to TJ for some cheap work or pulling it myself. These guys gave me an extremely fair price to extract my tooth and didn’t fill me with a bunch smoke trying to extract even more money from me. They saw me the same day, and the dentist was very friendly.

Dr. Carmichael and his staff are on time, very friendly, thorough and efficient. He is one of the most honest dentists around – you can really trust that he cares about your dental health and isn’t going to rip you off. His recommendations are reliable and fair – he is very upfront and friendly. I always have a great, quick, easy experience at his office and leave with squeaky clean pearly whites.
