I have a severe phobia of needles, and I have never felt more comfortable than under Dr. Yu’s care when I needed a cavity to be refilled. He is very personable, and his calm confidence got me through the worst part of the operation – the Lidocaine injection – without any issue. He went slowly and checked with me continuously, but still finished early (probably due to his technical proficiency). I truly felt he cared about how I was feeling and did his best to make me feel comfortable from start to finish, something I have (sadly) scarcely seen in this line work. He generally seems down to earth and has no issue explaining what he is doing and why. This is obviously subjective, but I felt he was far more honest than any other dentist I’d been to. This is how every dentistry practice should run – who needs to upsell when being honest brings in a bigger stream of patients? In summary, thank God I have insurance that allows me access to such a great dentist. I still can’t say I like getting dental work done, but Yu is absolutely my first choice now.

I cannot be any happier and thankful that I finally found a dentist that I completely trust. I have been going to him for the past 3+ years and he always delivers above my expectations. The most remarkable experience is for the permanent fix of the two crowns that I had to get redone over and over again when I was as my previous dentist from TX. He explains the whole procedure so that you are left with no questions and also provides a very thorough examination when you go for your regular check-up and follow-up. It is hard to express how much I appreciate this man as all the great experiences are continuously being added incrementally (which is the reason why it took me so long to write a review when I want the world to have the same great care as I am getting). I will always go see Dr. Sean Yu as long as I can!

I’ve been coming to Dr. Yu for dental work for almost two years now. Prior to my first visit I hadn’t been to a dentist in years so I have to admit I was a bit worried, however Dr. Yu’s professionalism and kindness put me at ease. I initially came in for a tooth extraction and since then I’ve been back for checkups and cleanings and I always feel like my teeth are in good hands (now there’s a weird phrase). Dr. Yu is friendly and knowledgeable, and referred me to a great orthodontist when I decided to get braces. His office is clean and his staff is also very friendly. I am confident in my 5 star rating of him, and I’m happy to find that other (internet users) feel the same way. Would recommend.

Dr. Yu is awesome. Very personable with great Bed side manners. Staff is great and very professional. They don’t try to take advantage and play games to upsell maximize out of pocket costs for their patients like some offices that I have gone to. He is a Family man with a beautiful family. My 3 girls and wifey are all under his care. Don’t mind going to see Dr. Yu because I know I will be under great care and helps to know that I won’t blow the bank seeing him. =) Actually have scheduled to see him this Wednesday about a chipped molar X0.

Dr. Yu is the best! He does not push treatments that are unnecessary. He is very personable and very pleasant. He treats you so nicely that you will feel guilty not flossing your teeth every night (NO ONE EVER MADE ME DO THAT). The fact that he have some Saturdays open is also perfect for me. During my cleaning (yes, he does my cleaning too!), he would let you know ahead of time what he would do, would explain what it does, and would constantly check on how I’m doing. How amazing is that?! I’ve been to hygienist who will keep going despite the fact that I’m choking on my own blood and saliva already (gross, I know). The little extra i pay for a (my dental) insurance is definitely worth it. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Yu is the best dentist! He is extremely nice and as a perfectionist, will make sure you get the best results as possible for your teeth. I used to hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Yu always makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. He even sent me a card after I got my wisdom teeth out at Dr. Kim’s which was very thoughtful. The only thing is that this place gets really busy so make sure you make an appointment way in advance!

This review is long overdue..I have been a patient of Dr. Yu for over 2 years now. I cannot say enough about him or his amazing staff. service as the other dentist that I went for consultation previously. Dr. Yu even offered me for a free second check-up to make sure that my tooth condition is not getting worse. All the staff are very friendly and professional especially the manager, Angela. Dr. Yu and staff are the best in the universe! Our family has been going to him for the last 4 or 5 years. He’s gentle, compassionate and skillful. I needed a lot of work recently. He did a superb job fixing my complicated dental issue and then worked on making a bridge and 2 crowns. I just had it finished this morning. Everything about it is perfect. Even the color is an exact match to my adjacent teeth. His front office assistants are wonderful. Angela is an “angel”. It may be difficult to get an immediate appointment but the wait is definitely worth it!

Dr. Sean Yu is as good as they come! Him and his entire staff are really professional, and he never pushes treatments that you don’t need. He is very honest, upfront, and conservative… so basically, he will do what’s necessary to get you treated, but won’t get too crazy with his recommendations. When we come for dental cleanings, we leave with a goody bag of toothbrushes and floss too. Because he is so popular and well-liked, it can be hard to get appointments, and I usually have to get scheduled out months in advance. However, for emergencies… like one time I bit down too hard on a chicken bone and my tooth chipped, I was able to come in that very day and get the whole thing taken care of within the hour. We really couldn’t be happier with Dr. Yu as our dentist – he is the best!

Sean is the best dentist I’ve ever had. He is truly outstanding! I found Sean on (the internet) a few years ago and decided to give him a try. Another dentist recommended hundreds of dollars worth of work, and I wanted a second opinion. Sean confirmed I really didn’t need much done at all, and suggested flossing to get rid of a cavity that was forming. He said he could fill it, but it would probably save me some money and remedy the issue if I simply flossed better. He even did a very small filling for me and wouldn’t let me pay him. Who does that these days!? I’ve recommended him several times and every single person who’s seen him has told me they couldn’t be happier. If you need a very knowledgeable, honest, and professional dentist, Sean’s your guy.

Dr. Yu completed his undergraduate education at UCLA, and graduated with honors from New York University College of Dentistry in 2003. After graduating dental school, he completed a general practice residency at Maimonides Medical Center, New York. Since 2006, Dr. Yu has maintained a private dental practice in Orange County focusing on comprehensive dental care, including cosmetic, implant, and preventive dentistry. Dr. Yu is an approachable and friendly doctor who is easy to communicate with. He believes that sincerity and finest quality of care to be of upmost importance in the treatment of his patients. He pursues a family practice that builds long term relationships by providing excellent service with empathy and compassion.
