I had Dr Louie as my DDS after  he took over the practice from my dentist almost 2 decades ago. He was & still is a phenomenal dentist because he listens to his patients (I am a big cry baby so he was extra super gentle with me), my genes are bad (grandmother lost her teeth at 35) so he was always searching for new products that might help reduce my gum recession, and he kept my cavities in check. Not only that, when my mother had a DDS that was suggesting implants, Dr. Louie spoke to me about the likely rejection that would occur as my mom was a smoker, & that’s exactly what happened! She spent all this money for nothing & had to have a bridge built which was what Dr. Louie suggested right away when he saw her on a consult. Need I say more: a DDS that tries to SAVE you MONEY! Recently, I drove down to LA & saw Dr. Louie for a consult as my Fresno DDS was recommending invisiline treatment for my rotating teeth. Dr. Louie immediately said WHOA don’t do anything because if you’ve had enough bone loss the invisiline will make it worse. He is reviewing my old xrays & will tell me what to do that is best for me. He is so OLD SCHOOL in the best possible way: excellent CURRENT best practices (prof at USC DDS school!), looking out for the patient’s health & pocket book. I tried many DDS’s in the Visalia./Fresno area & no one can compare to Dr. Louie: his knowledge is unmatched, he thinks outside the box for the best remedy & works to save his patients from needless expenses. His staff has always been so kind & gentle (just tell them you’re a cry baby like me) and Alla is a dream: knowledgable, a great teacher, efficient, kind, funny. You’ll enjoy the view from the top of the building as you look out on LA, which is gorgeous, but more importantly, Dr. Louie is always looking out for his patients, like family. Take care of your teeth as you only get 1 set: Dr. Louie is the best.

I just completed the process of receiving a single tooth implant.  The process took about one year which I appreciated so that each phase of the process had time to complete its development.  I had been a patient of Dr. Scott so was not automatically sure I wanted to transfer to Dr. Louie.  Because of the cost of the implant process I sought a second exam and estimate from a dental surgeon trusted by a good friend.  The diagnosis, treatment plan and price were all consistent with Dr. Louie’s.  I also asked many additional questions about the process and received complete and understandable answers.  The work was excellent, careful and even after a few days, the implanted tooth feels like it belongs.

I have never written a Yelp review before, so this goes to show how happy I am to have found Dr. Louie and Dr. Naiman! Both doctors are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and professional. They both took the time to introduce themselves and talk with me about all of my treatment options. I have never received such outstanding care! Dr. Naiman walked me through every step of the final treatment plan very thoroughly, which made me feel so comfortable and at ease during the procedure that it was over before I even knew it! I was so impressed with her care and will definitely be recommending her to friends and colleagues. Juliann was also so lovely and personable and Angie was so welcoming and helpful when I walked into the office. This office is the perfect example of exactly how a dental practice should be!

Angels!! 0:) Every single person that works at this place! Especially Dr. Louie. There are no words to express my gratitude for their genuine care and support. You cannot put a price on compassion. That comes from the heart 🙂 I could simply say that he’s a great dentist, and end this review – but that wouldn’t come close to expressing what I actually feel. I hate long reviews – but can’t help writing them – LOL – so if you want to stop reading here – then PLEASE – JUST GO TO HIM. He is painless, compassionate, and does beautiful work. If you want to read more, about how I got into trouble in the first place, and how they saved me, here’s my story. No matter what you’re going through, don’t be hard on yourself or embarrassed. Dr. Louie and his staff are really wonderful people, and they will help you reach your goals, in your time frame. For the whole story …. I’m sure there are multiple reasons why people neglect their teeth, but I suspect money and fear are the top two reasons.We all have problems in life, and mine ( like most ) came unexpectedly. I worked for a major airline for 22 years, and I had always taken my twinkling smile and fabulous insurance for granted. In 2008 I found myself in the position where I had to leave my job to care for an aging parent with Alzheimer’s. Overnight, I lost my livelihood and insurance at pre-retirement age, during the recession. Because I “quit” , I also lost all my long term benefits. After 22 years, I left with nothing. It was tough. But I did what I had to do, what I wanted to do, and I don’t regret it for a second. From 2008 forwards, life got even more complicated. In 2012, I was diagnosed with cancer and my husband almost died in the same year. I was worn to a frazzle. Needless to say, with all the various factors in my life, my stress level was off the charts and my nerves were shot. There was no time (or money) to care for myself, and I couldn’t even think about going to the dentist. After my cancer diagnosis, my fear of anything medical was also completely out of proportion. Anything medical terrified me. I was really stuck. In 2015  (not 2016) I finally started researching dentists. I read online reviews for 3 months, and kept returning back to Dr. Louie’s website. My gums were bleeding quite a bit and I knew I had other issues that needed attention. I made a consultation visit, and Dr. Louie took a gentle peek inside my mouth. He praised me for having such good oral hygiene without seeing a dentist in over 10 years. He did everything right, but I was still stuck. I couldn’t move forward with getting the work done, and I stayed paralyzed another whole year. The rational part of me completely understands that good oral hygiene is important for all aspects of your health. After cancer, you become even more aware. So I made a promise to myself. The 5 year mark 0:) Last week, I celebrated 5 years cancer free. (my husband is doing good as well) So it was time! (way overdue) Last Wednesday, I had my first cleaning in over 12 years, and Dr. Louie saved the teeth that were in trouble. 0:) His staff understood that I was a nervous wreck, and his assistants actually came in and held my hands. After the visit was behind me, I felt the weight of the world off my shoulders. I realized there was nothing to fear. It was ALL in my head. Dr. Louie is truly painless. Does beautiful work. Has great bedside manner. And a big heart. He is absolutely everything that all the other reviews say, and more – and his staff is beyond amazing. Of course I realize that I should have gone much sooner – but I did it when I could do it – mentally, and financially. I am so grateful that I found this office. From the bottom of my heart – from the front desk, to the dental hygienists – thank you ALL for being patient with me through my long journey and helping me getting my mouth healthy again. I live between Los Angeles and San Francisco and travel almost 4 days a week for a large part of the year. In my line of work I need someone who treats me like a valued patient, not like an insurance card. I was the victim of several dentists before I met Dr. Shervin and each time I couldn’t believe the runaround I was put through. Dr. Shervin recently did an AMAZING job matching a front tooth that I broke playing hockey. The entire procedure was painless, VERY affordable and the tooth was a perfect match! I have recommended Dr. Shervin to many satisfied friends and I was reminded how great his work was when I caught an elbow in the mouth today playing basketball, I am happy to say that the tooth held up perfectly and yes, I will remember to wear the mouthgard he made me from now on!!!

When one of my upper molars broke, leaving a sharp fragment above the gum line, I was dreading a painful tooth extraction that I expected would leave me in agony for a solid week or more. However, I absolutely had to see dentist right away, so I did a web search and decided to give Dr. Louie a call. I spoke with Angela, who answered all of my questions in a friendly, professional manner, and, best of all, she scheduled an appointment for me right away. When I arrived at the office, Dr. Louie’s assistants Mina and Alla took x-rays and prepped me for the procedure, explaining each step along the way. Their high level of competence and concern for the patient’s comfort really put me at ease. Dr. Louie reviewed the x-ray results with me, and outlined all the possible treatment options clearly. His administration of anesthetic was by far the most skilled I have ever experienced—at no time during the procedure did I feel any pain whatsoever. And, much to my surprise, the extraction took only a few minutes to perform. Dr. Louie and his team are true professionals who really know what they are doing, and I give them my highest recommendation.

My former dentist retired, and Dr. Louie took over his practice.  Dr. Louie was a relatively new dentist at that time, but I gave him a chance.  I’m glad I did.  He has performed a variety of services for me over the years, including crowns, implants, bondings and routine care.  I have great confidence in his abilities.  He is knowledgeable, up-to-date on dental techniques, and considerate of his patients.  In the evening after a significant procedure, he calls me at home to check on me.  When issues arise, Dr. Louie responds quickly to make sure I am satisfied.  He identifies developing dental problems before they become serious.  He gives advice and discusses options without being pushy.  He’s not inexpensive, but he’s worth it.  I live in the San Fernando Valley but make the drive to Larchmont because of the care and attention I receive.  And his staff is great; comforting, friendly and competent.  Highly recommended.

June 22, 2011 As a woman at the tender age of 39 I had to come to terms with the fact that I would have to lose seven of my front teeth due to advanced gum disease etc. Pretty scary stuff. I went to another dentist in Los Angeles and was told I wouldn’t be able to have implants and if I did they would look too long due to gum shrinkage. I was looking at wearing a temporary appliance for the rest of my life. Now I’m really frightened.
I was referred to Dr. Louie and from the day I first met with him I stopped being scared. His attitude was so positive that I walked out excited about what my new teeth would look like. It was a long road and a lot of work but with Dr. Louie’s wonderful mix of professionalism, thoroughness, perfectionism and humor I was able to get through what could have been a traumatic and stressful experience. Other dentists were daunted by my case but not Dr. Louie. He was determined to give me a smile that would be lovely and natural. When everything was done my happiness was matched only by how proud Dr. Louie was of his work. He should be – I look pretty darn good and these new teeth will outlast me! Also, I can’t forget his wonderful staff. Everyone was so friendly and they made me feel comfortable and secure from day one. Thank you Dr. Louie and your staff for everything. I can honestly say I now look forward to going to the dentist!

Dr Louie has been my trusted dentist since i moved to Cali – he’s done so much work on my teeth and there’s no other dentist I will trust in terms of skills and aesthetics! I used to have baby teeth all around with no adult teeth underneath and a very gummy smile. Ive been told by many dentists that my situation was rare and a lot of dentists made horrible recommendations because they were unfamiliar with such a case. If i had followed through, i would’ve ended up with messed up teeth! He recommended me to opt for gum surgery & a set of veneers to protect my baby teeth which honestly has not only saved my teeth and changed my smile sooooo much and i get compliments all the time for halving a great smile! Not only is him and his whole staff patient & compassionate to his patients, they’re all fun to talk to and make all the procedures painless and easy to go through. No other dentist will have this high level of expertise but still be so caring for his patients – definitely the best dentist in la!

I am a new patient at Dr. Louie’s office–and I couldn’t be happier about the expertise and attention that Dr. Louie provided during my appointments for a crown replacement and a new night guard.  His work is absolutely impeccable–and he truly cares about making your experience as positive and comfortable as possible.  Dr. Louie’s dental assistants are all exceptionally kind and skilled, and his reception staff are hands down the most helpful and efficient that I have ever encountered in any doctor’s office.  All in all, I feel very fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Louie’s and his incredible support team!
