I went to Dr. Shimizu on a recommendation from my dentist. I had postponed getting my teeth straightened since my teens for over 20 years, and suffered from poor gum health due to overcrowding. Other orthodontists recommended extraction of 4 teeth and expensive re-doing of an existing bridge. Dr. Shimizu advised that he would be able to achieve the same end results with only 1 tooth extraction, and preserving the existing bridge. After nearly 2 years of successful Invisalign treatment, I am very happy to say that he achieved everything that was promised. Family, friends, and my dentist are all amazed at the transformation. He is someone who is extremely good at what he does, and takes pride in his work. The staff is very knowledgeable, and courteous. Highly recommended, worth every penny!

I only reserve five stars for the very best, consistent experience. Dr. Shimizu and his staff are very professional. He clearly puts effort into making his practice effective and patient-friendly. I was in one morning very early, and I could overhear some of his morning staff meeting. People were LAUGHING. What staff is laughing at 0730? These were happy people, and it showed in their work. Every step of the way, Dr. Shimizu told me exactly what was going on, in words I could understand, without being condescending. I recommend Dr. Shimizu’s practice.

Dr. Shimizu is AMAZING! Not only is his office location super convenient, he offers the latest technology. But most importantly, he obviously LOVES what he does and it shows! You will receive the highest level of patient care at every step of your treatment, and Dr. Shimizu is a MASTER with Invisalign. You will be so happy you chose Dr. Shimizu if you’re in the Bay Area- I HIGHLY recommend him!

This is the first time I’m recommending an orthodontics establishment online… But Shimizu Orthodontics is so AMAZING that I would gladly SING their praises from the highest rooftop!! Dr. Shimizu and his dedicated team work MIRACLES trust me!! They do an OUTSTANDING job – which everyone can/will see by their miraculous results. The team must’ve been hand-selected and composed of some of the finest human beings on earth. They SINCERELY care for their patients’ well-being, and for their patient’s families. Such a wonderful team that works together like a very-well oiled-machine geared towards creating happiness to anyone that is fortunate enough to be in their presence. Me and my wife have been here many-a-times, for our son, they took care of him like he was their own child, they took care of us – like we’re part of their family (which I realize now – we are)… This place is full of wonderful souls, and on each visit we’ve got to experiences each and everyone’s kindness. I love their honesty, their sincerity and their warm/kind personalities – Dr. Shimizu’s aura reflects across the entire office which is always super-clean, very well furnished and super inviting (just like the staff). I have felt nothing but ‘LOVE’ and true INSPIRATION from them each visit – Just by seeing how well they treat everyone (and each other) – I’ve always left truly inspired with a feeling of “how wonderful this world is!”. It’s rare to find so many beautiful human beings and kind souls under one roof – who sincerely care and do a FANTABULOUS job: Here is a wonderful place that does JUST THAT! Big shout of respect out to the staff: Kelly, Gabrielle, Sarah, Daisy, Charlotte, Pam, Jaime, Rachel, Iesha, Susi and of course the main man himself – Dr. Shimizu If the ratings allowed it, I would give Shimizu Orthodontics 100 stars!! – Highly recommended by me and my family… They’re AWESOME!! You’ll see why!

Dr Shimizu and his staff makes the braces a very pleasant experience. My kid looked forward to his appointments. He did a great job with my kid in straightening his teeth. He was also always available on calls in the first couple of weeks which is the hardest when my kid started his brace to answer any questions or give suggestions on how to manage the pain.

Dr Shimizu is an excellent orthodontist. Very calm, competent and professional. His office, the staff are all top notch. We visited a few orthodontists before making our selection — We were very impressed with the doctor and his team, and were pleasantly surprised when the price quote came in lower than the others. We have been very pleased with the high level of care provided. A wonderful office to work with, always responsive, easy to get in for an appointment in case of emergency. He does not nickel and dime you – they charge you a flat rate upfront, but offer the cadillac of care for what they charge. Some orthos charge extra for xrays (or send you to a third party where you have to pay extra). Here we paid a flat, pre arranged amount up front, and a year later (endless appointments later) we have not had to pay a dime more for anything. What we love: – Dr Shimizu and his staff are experienced, friendly, calm and very professional. Everything seems very calm and organized. – They charges were fair, and in line with other quotes we received – you never feel nickel and dimed – in fact the price seems fair for all the time they give you. – Doctor is very experienced and competent. He knows his stuff! His staff is also excellent. Friendly, caring and good at their work – They never push extra treatment or services – With the ortho treatment, we find ourselves here at least once a month — and love how clean, calm and modern the office is. They always have fresh coffee, tea. cocoa and warm cookies (ironic for a dentist!). These little touches make the kids excited about coming in – and are a convenient and thoughtful touch for parents on the go. Lots of little touches make this a special place. We have been very pleased with our experience here. I wish all doctors were as pleasant and wise as Dr Shimizu. Highly recommend.

My son had his braces put on here and is now going through the motions of his appointments and adjustments and such. The initial consultation was great. I met with Jamie and she was professional and knowledgeable. She explained all options and what treatment would be best for my son. She was very helpful. Dr. Shimizu is also great and a pleasure to deal with. He is great with the kids and tells them exactly what he is going to do. Front desk staff is also friendly. The whole staff is really great and accomodating when it comes to booking appointments. Forrunately, I have dual insurance with the hubs so the fee was less. A big plus is they have a fully stocked coffee bar! They have a keurig with an array of coffee, chai, teas…hot water for hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies for the kids after their appointment. I can’t help but to indulge in a coffee or chai when I take my son to his appontments. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

We interviewed three different orthodontists for my daughter and felt the most comfortable trusting her treatment with Dr. Shimizu. His office is really nice and actually fun to go to. All the employees are extremely cheerful and professional. They even serve warm cookies. The whole team does a great job of catering to the kids and making them feel comfortable. Also after talking to all three orthodontists, I had the very highest level of confidence in Dr. Shimizu’s experience and expertise. We’ve only been going there for about 6 months but so far it’s been a pleasure!

It was the first time we visited Dr. Shimizu.  He gave me the impression as a very competent, professional and truth worthy doctor.  My daughter really likes him as well.  I got all the information I needed by the end of the visit.  I’m impressed with his straight forward, honest and efficient style.  He told me my daughter doesn’t need any orthodontic work at this point. Looking for a great orthodontist? Well look no further, Dr.Shimizu is best. Our son had his braces on and off in 9 months! He had a great experience and was so happy to have his braces off before starting high school. Our daughter is now in her second phase of braces. She started there when she was 9 and had her braces on for 12 mos. Even though she was a little scared at first all the assistants made her feel so special and Dr. Shimizu was so gentle with her,she would get excited to go to the office. Her treatment went so great the first time that when it came time for her second phase she wasn’t worried at all. Dr. Shimizu and his staff are amazing! I have referred several of my friends and family and they all love him too.This office is top notch and we are glad to have found Dr. Shimizu. Oh and they have a great little coffee bar for the parents and cookies too!
