He knows what he’s doing, has a very nice office, has the latest technology for medical imaging and x-rays, and most importantly, when it comes time to replace a filling, or get drilled, he is gentle, and doesn’t over do it on numbing agents. I’ve been searching for a dentist in silver lake for a long time and I am so happy I found Dr. Josh – I will be recommending him to my friends.

I cannot recommend this practice enough. Dr. Barkhordar seems to genuinely care about the health of my mouth, and took a lot of time to help me understand what was happening and make sure I was comfortable. He’s thorough and super personable- I felt like a friend was taking care of me. Isabel is also professional and sweet. I have had experiences with dental offices where it seems like a money grab, and they don’t care at all about your dental health- this was the opposite. I felt totally at ease. I am so glad I found them. This will be my family’s dentist from now on. Oh! And the safety protocols they have in place made me feel really comfortable.

Dr. Josh is an excellent dentist! I would recommend him to any friend or family. He is kind, professional with great bedside manner, and does a great job. I had my first cavity filled and it was painless. The office is beautiful and newly renovated, with TVs to watch while having cleaning or procedures done. The staff are wonderful. Amazing!!! I emailed Josh at 5:50PM (they close at 6:30) and he told me to come on by. I made it in by 6:15, and for FREE he looked at my tooth AND gave me an X-ray to figure out the cause. He was diligent about asking my dental and medical history, and instilled confidence that my tooth would be okay. He gave recovery tips and encouraged me to followup. This is all at the end of the day when most people would just close up!! Thank you so much Josh!!!

If I could give Dr. Josh, Dr. Nicole and Isabelle 10 stars, I would. I walked into this office about two months ago unexpected in terrible pain, terrified of the dentist because of past experiences and with many issues that needed to be addressed. Josh was the most compassionate dentist I have ever encountered, his sister Nicole has been so patient and flexible with my issue and Isabelle has been nothing but kind during these past few months of treatments. I have a busy work schedule and they work around that. I have terrible anxiety and they help reduce that and make sure every time I visit I am as comfortable as possible. It’s a huge plus I live so close, but the office is is clean, they make each visit better by offering something to watch on TV and check up and confirm appointments via text, which makes it better. Thank you all so much for everything you’ve done for me, I truly appreciate it and I am loving my smile again!

Dr. Barkhordar treated me. He conducted a thorough dental examination and explained his findings with me, providing digital images of his findings which I appreciated.
Dr. Barkhordar was pleasant, knowledgeable and very accommodating. I felt very comfortable with him. He made my visit pleasant, eliminating the general dental visit fear.His office is small but clean and conveniently located next door to a lovely café. This is the best dental office I have ever been to! There’s plenty of parking in the back and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. He also set me up with a custom mouthguard at nighttime to prevent any further damage from grinding my teeth – fits perfectly! Welcome to Silverlake Dental Group, office of Joshua Barkhordar, DDS. I really look forward to taking care of you and your families dental and oral health. As a private practice dentist, I am also the owner and running the practice. Dr. Joshua Barkhordar graduated from University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry in 2007, and completed a two-year advanced Dental Implant residency in Chicago at University of Illinois (UIC). Dr. Josh comes from a family of Dentists, including his father and two sisters. Since most family dinners consist of discussing teeth, his passion never quits! He loves being a dentist because he can improve someone’s health, and make them smile and feel better than before. He keeps up to date with continuing education in Invisalign, Laser treatment, Dental Implants, Air Abrasion (fillings without a shot or drill), Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Surgery & wisdom teeth, Endodontics (root canals), Periodontics (gum care), and Prosthodontics (crowns and bridges).
