First off, there’s so many dental offices on Venice Blvd, I have no insurance currently, and yelp reviews are part of the process i used to find the right dental office. I also consider how many years a Dentist has practiced and the school the Dentist has studied at. Coming to Smile Dental under Dr.Rad Radulovich has been a blessing, he and Dr. Forai graduated from USC. The practice has been in Culver City for about twenty year!!! On my first visit, I was able to find parking in their lot on both sides of the building. As soon as I walked in, Susan greeted me with a warm smile. She explained all the paper work to me. She informed me of the General consent for the initial exam, stated that any and all treatment will be explained in accordance with my insurance if any insurance is applicable, she did explain that if I have insurance and a procedure is not covered, the option to proceed with a discount will be discussed. As I was given a tour of the office, one of the friendly assistants, guided me to the room, here she took xrays, and some selfies of my teeth, each one individually which was amazing, I could see every nook and cranny, this is extremely help full because I cant read Xrays the way a Dentist does, so I am able to visually see what the Dentist can see clinically. I was surprised to see for myself, minor imperfections, like my top teeth were not aligned with my bottom, the center line was off!!! LOL. The dentist came in and introduced himself to me. He asked me a couple of questions about how I was doing, how did I hear about us, what I had planned for the day. He asked what no dentist had ever asked me, WHAT I WANTED TO ACCOMPLISHED FROM MY VISIT TODAY!! I was honest after seeing so much build up on my lower teeth from the inside, I wanted to have better teeth and a healthier smile. He explained that Cavities are a priority to remove active decay from damaging my teeth. A cleaning with irrigation was needed because of the excess build up. I didn’t know what Irrigation meant, but I didn’t have to ask, he was explaining to me that its a medication that is placed under my gum tissue in all my pockets to help inhibit the growth of bad bacteria that is there from the plaque. I was explained what the cost for treatment was, I was given a discount. A Care Credit was offered, and I was able to use, VISA, MASTER CARD, AMEX, DISCOVER, or CARECREDIT to pay, Then what ever I wanted to start with, I consented at this time. I was well aware of the cost before the Doctor started. While the cleaning was done, I was also explained area i need to focus ion with the floss and brush. I had excess plaque because my lower teeth are overlapping and cause pockets to catch the food and removing it with brushing and flossing is harder for me. Yes like many other Reviews on here, Invisalign was recommended, but not cosmetically as others assume. The staff doesn’t just say,” hey there’s this thing like braces to fix your teeth”. Instead, you are shown that the benefits of a Correct bite, by having straight teeth you eliminate areas for plaque to build up, you remove an uneven bite with causes UNEVEN PRESSURE TO ALL TEETH, which in my case causes pain in my jaw, as well as minimizing unnecessary wear to teeth that have no problems to begin with. The doctor is honest enough to say what I am doing right and what I can improve on. Some people consider that bad bedside manners, But, you know if you have extra plaque in certain areas, you know your bite is off if some teeth touch and others do not, you know your teeth. Of course a Dentist will give you options. I found my Dentist and I hope you all find yours. I truly feel like home here, and cant stop referring friends and family to Dr Rad.
