Dr. Pilar & her staff are wonderful! I first saw her for a cavity which she promptly fit me in, filled it & advised me on all of my dental issues. Today I went back for my cleaning and Hardi, the hygienist was gentle, thorough and so kind in explaining my need to floss more. She even gave me a floss sample & explained a better way to floss. (I was reluctant fearing I’d pop off a crown.) Hardi recommended a cordless waterpik for me which I just ordered. I’ve had a few dentists in my life and Dr.Pilar and staff top the list! We are so lucky to have her here in Nutley. They even checked costs with my insurance in advance so there were no surprise expenses. Also this is during the pandemic and their protocols, masks, call before entering and plastic on the chairs was very reassuring & protective.

I have been bringing my young son here for 5 years. They have always been professional, clean, efficient and thorough – showing him with the model how to properly brush his teeth over and over so he doesn’t forget. They also referred us to an orthodontist for further worked to perfect his smile. I highly recommend this practice! Great for kids!

I am very happy with the work I have gotten done at smile today . Dr Pilar and her staff are very professional and make you feel at home . Like many others I do not like the dentist (sorry Dr Pilar ) but about 4/5 years ago when i moved into town and was looking for a dentist and found Dr. Pilar’s office & haven’t left since . From the moment I walked into Smile Today I felt a sigh of relief. Today was my second time visiting the office and Dr. Pilar. The office smells nice and is kept clean. I was referred to Smile Today, by a close friend, and I am so grateful for making the switch. The receptionist and front staff are super pleasant and helpful. They took extra time to go over payments (what my insurance did and didn’t cover) and upcoming schedules. They were patient with my many questions, and that’s even before seeing Dr. Pilar. Once in the chair other hygienist come and introduce themselves and talk me through the procedure. Today was my first ever root canal, to say I was nervous was an understatement. Dr. Pilar and her staff made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions and concerns. They gave me the remote to the tv to help calm me down. During the procedure, Dr. Pilar talked me through every step, and offered words of encouragement to me, “you’re doing great,” “we’re halfway through.” She had a calm demeanor which helped my nerves. I suggest going to her office and making the switch. I had been at my old dentist since I was a teenager, and I never knew what he was doing, or specific terminology. On my last visit, I was shown my x Ray’s and was surprised at how much I had learned from one cleaning! I am telling all of my friends and family to go to Dr. Pilar and visit Smile Today!

I always have a pleasant experience every time I’m here but today I got exceptional customer service from Yeli! I have an impacted wisdom tooth and since they don’t do wisdom teeth extraction Yeli took the time to help me find other offices that do wisdom teeth extractions ASAP bc it really started to hurt me. I didn’t even come in person, this was all through the phone and she was super helpful and patient. Definitely recommend Smile Today, the staff is super nice, caring, and helpful!

Dr. Pilar and her staff provide A1 top notch service from making your first appointment to procedures, to follow ups to teeth cleanings etc. They take the time to listen and answer every single one of you questions and never make you feel like you’re being a burden. I have never had a dentist that I loved just bounced around, but from this point forward I will always stay with Smile Today .

Such a friendly office. They make sure to get to know their patients and make you comfortable. I moved to NJ from PA and was looking for a new dentist and stumbled upon Dr. Pilar. I since moved to NYC and still make the commute out to see Dr. Pilar because I love her and her staff that much. I highly recommend them to anyone in the surrounding areas.

This dentist office the best. From the time you come in they very nice and it’s clean you will know right away that you’re safe. The hygienist Elizabeth the best never experiences in my life to have a dental cleaning like that you can feel the your teeth really clean and to top you will not feel you been judged. The dentist Dr. Pilar so good too explained everything what you need to be done and the problem, and they she explained it you will understand those medical terminology. The girl On the front very accommodating. This place the best 100% recommended.

I have not been to the dentist in over ten years, talk about dental anxiety! This was my first time at Smile Today and I must say what an excellent experience. I am BLOWN AWAY. Yesterday, I went in for a teeth clean, check up, and did molds for a night guard. I had the pleasure to get my teeth cleaned by Hardi who made me feel like I was at home. I then met Dr. Pilar. What a kind, compassionate caring doctor. Denise did my night guard fitting and was very patient, kind and really funny! At the end, I got Yeli at the desk who helped me right away with a new appointment. I just want to add that during my time there all of my insurance options were explained to me down to the exact cost. I was not pressured to buy anything extra and was also given alternatives. Most importantly, I did not feel ashamed for my teeth. 10/10 would definitely recommend this clean, safe space!

Let me start by saying I am absolutely terrified of going to the dentist due to horrible experiences at several different offices, I finally had the courage to go for a consultation due to sensitivity on my front teeth. I wanted to have it checked out and Find a primary dentist to fix my teeth. I think I have found her!!!!! I went into the office and was greeted by a nice receptionist who handed me an iPad to fill out med hist and several other questions. Not 2 mins past after I gave the iPad back and I was immediately called for a clean up and X-rays with the hygienist, she was so gentle and very nice. Not once rude she was so pleasant to talk to. She took several X-rays in which she later explained with details and demonstrations on the condition and the work that had to be done. She proceded to do a clean up and she was so gentle. I really appreciate her efforts in trying to comfort my nervousness down. After the cleaning Dr, Pilar came to the room to check on me and evaluate. she was very nice and explained with details what needed to be done I asked several questions which she gladly and pleasantly answered. I have major work that needs to be done including Root canals, root canal retreat (referred to Endodontics) crowns and fillings. So far I’m very grateful i came across her Office everyone was so welcoming and helpful. I will update once I get work done., but from my experience on the first meet I feel comfortable and confident in dr Pilar’s office.

I was just in today for a cleaning. However, in the past I have found Dr. Pilar and the entire staff to be excellent. They are very professional and accurate. Dr. Pilar has assembled a great staff. It’s one big happy family. I have been going to Smile Today ever since Dr. Pilar assumed ownership of this practice. Dr. Pilar is an excellent dentist and you can expect the best of care and results regardless of what dental issue you have.

Smile today is the best dentist office I have been to. I am incredibly terrified of going to the dentist due to past experiences. However, it was time for me to go. I was looking for a dentist that could make me feel comfortable and reading the reviews, I decided to go to smile today. I couldn’t have made a better choice. I was first seen by Elizabeth who is a hygienist. Elizabeth is amazing! The moment I sat on the chair she could see how scared I was but she was very comforting. She listed to my concerns and was very informative and honest about the procedures going to be done. Dr. Shefali was also amazing! She was also very comforting and informative about the future plans for my smile. These ladies were understanding, patient, sweet and caring. Everything I was looking for in a dentist. I am very grateful I found this office. I would recommend without a doubt.

Smile Today is exceptional in every way! Dr. Pilar is incredibly advanced in her approach to Dentristy offering the latest technology and advancements to anyone who is lucky enough to be one of her patients. Her offices are clean and bright, and her wait time is minimal! Her entire staff is lovely, and always accommodating. It should also be noted, that during the initial onset of Covid-19 Dr. Pilar outfitted her offices and patient rooms with the best devices available for air purification, while also supplying her technicians & staff with the highest quality PPE to protect them and her patients. It was so comforting as a patient to walk in (finally) for a routine cleaning and see first hand how a business owner put her own staff’s safety as a priority as well as her patients. I am so thankful that she is my dentist and highly recommend her.
