I was early but they had me in the chair quickly. Having my service dog with me, they were VERY accommodating in getting her some water. It takes awhile to properly fit dentures and Teresa made sure the animal got to potty. The temporary teeth feel weird but it is because they’re new to ME. Thank you Alex for having a great staff. I’ll see you ALL again in 6 weeks

Excellent service and care! I had a very thorough cleaning and training session yesterday by Catherine!. This was the first cleaning visit where the dentist was called over to check my xrays and teeth in 3 years. It was also the first visit since January. Because of the Pandemic, I was not able to get a cleaning at a three month time period in more than 10 years!

I am a HUGE chicken when it comes to going to the Dentise. I literally will have a panic attack because of horris experiences in the past. But this past labor day weekend my tooth cracked, and the pain was horrable. Dr. Alex not only got me in asap, he and his amazing staff quickly calmed me down and gave me such a pleasent experience ( even though I got my tooth pulled & prepped for a implant) . I actually was so calm I started to fall asleep during my extraction ( yes I realize, hard to believe right!!) But the truth. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND any & all people go see Dr. Alex, he truly has the gift of gentleness, and patience. And his staff is as great as Dr. Alex. If Dr. Alex can make me WANT to go back for more dental work….well let’s just say, after 50 years, I finally found a dentise I can trust!!

This is my 2nd time visiting Smiles By Alex. I have an unhealthy fear of the dentist as most people have. The 1st time I visited I had to have a bottom tooth extracted. Alex worked on me and talked me through it the whole time, asking if I was ok and how I was feeling. He reassured me the entire time along with his assistants. So when I had to go back for a 2nd visit, a little over a year later (I have no insurance that’s why the long wait). I was naturally a little scared to find out what was wrong but not nervous about how I would be treated. Seen Dr Day who was super sweet and very reassuring and put my heart at ease. Nice to know that the dentists (not just Alex) care deeply about their patients. Thank you to all the Doctors, assistants and staff, you are amazing!

My teeth are already beautiful just with the temps I’m wearing. Tuesday they will put my crowns and bridge and I’ll be forever grateful. For some reason, my previous 5 star review from 1-25 only shows up when I log in to my Yelp account like it’s a Draft but not otherwise. Not sure why that is or found any way to assure that it actually posted properly …..so I’ll do it again in hopes it works this time. Anyway, had the pleasure of another great appointment last week to remove an existing crown and install a temporary for two weeks until the new one is fabricated. Doing the work was Dr. Ross Day, a very skilled Dentist who I met for the first time. I found him to be very personable and highly skilled as all the staff at “Smiles by Alex”. The entire ordeal went smoothly and was painless….which was great. Crowns can be difficult to remove and I never felt a thing. As I’d mostly gotten used to Dr. Alex and his exceptional ability, Dr. Day was a testimonial to what a great and well rounded experience you can expect when you go there, which I’ve been doing for nearly 2 years now and NEVER been disappointed in any way. I very highly recommend “Smiles by Alex” to anybody….and this is coming from someone who used to dread the Dentist due to bad past experience. Dr. Alex really cares about his patients, and it shows.

Honesty is very hard to find in dentistry these days, but I can vouch for dr Alex – he is a good man and a good dentist. After visiting Beachside Dental and getting a quote of about $6,500 worth of work needed (total scam) dr Alex was able to fix my teeth for under $1,000. He did everything he could to save me from getting any extra work done and after slipping him $100 for his honesty, he made sure it was delivered back to me. He wouldn’t take the tip and was incredibly humble and sincere. I would recommend him to everyone I know and will fly back from Australia to see him on a regular basis. Ask for Dr Alex when you go- and book early- he fills up fast.

As much as I appreciate yelp reviews, I am one of those guilty of not providing as much feedback as I would like to. I had such a great experience that I’m taking the time to write a review for my experience with Dr. Alex and his wonderful staff.
From the partking, there was plenty of parking in a plaza with lots of convenient stores around. Equipment is up to date and the xray process just took literally a minute. Didn’t have to bite on any xray cards (really used to hurt my gums). My procedure consisted of repairing a broken cavity and the removal of my last 2 wisdom teeth. Dr. Alex was very thorough on explaining the precedure before he began and even asked me several times during the extraction if I was feeling any pain. The procedure was painless and I could never be this thrilled to talk about a dental visit. His prices are very fair but most of all the technique and his patient consideration was just superb. Highly Recommended to anyone that needs dental service or just a simple check up.

On my last visit to Kat for cleaning about a week ago, it was found that I had a severe root infection under a back bridge crown. Today we started the planned remediation procedure which included extraction and oral surgery/bone graft and will end with implants for 2 of the 3 bridged teeth. Since I had similar work done on the other side in the last 2 years by Dr. Alex, I knew what to expect.
AGAIN and AS ALWAYs, it went perfectly and painlessly!! With Liberte assisting as before, Dr. Alex performed his magic while I remained calm and comfortable during the entire ordeal. I have been a patient of his for over three years now, and have NEVER had an issue that would make me apprehensive as years before where I dreaded going to the Dentist. (And put it off because of that.) In my opinion, Dr. Alex is one of the all time best, and a great human being who totally deserves “5 Stars” all day long!!! Highly recommend without reservation!

Dr. Luong Nguyen is a graduate of the Boston University, School of Dentistry. He is a respected member of ADA, CDA,OCDS, and has fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. In addition to being a Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Dentistry GPR and Hospital Dentistry Program, he owns a state-of-the-art private practice in beautiful southern Orange County. Dr. Nguyen has extensive knowledge and experience in placing implants since 2005, and is always at the forefront of implant dentistry by Continuing Education, various study clubs, and inventing his own surgical techniques. As a strong advocate of providing quality dental care, Dr. Nguyen has an upscale practice that is equipped with 3D cone-beam computed tomography, use of laser dentistry and CEREC.
