I have gone to Sonterra Dental from the very beginning, and Dr. Woods Woolwine is by far my favorite medical professional! He is so friendly, takes the time to get to know each patient personally, explains what he’s doing on any procedure, and sincerely cares about his patients – more than just their oral health. Dr. Woolwine uses state-of-the-art equipment in a comfortable setting. I have had numerous simple and more complex procedures at Sonterra Dental over the years. In every case I was treated beautifully and had excellent care by both Dr. Woolwine and the Dental assistant. I also had Invisalign orthodontia with precision work and an excellent result. Pam is my long time hygienist at Sonterra Dental. She is thorough and attentive as she does her work, and always encourages me to have good dental habits! Like Dr. Woolwine, Pam takes the time to get to know her patients personally and cares about their wellbeing. Ashley and the other front desk folks are cheerful, friendly professionals who help make the total experience at Sonterra Dental so pleasant. I will continue to recommend Dr. Woolwine and team for the best dental care in town!

Never keeps me waiting, always professional. Lana is a top notch hygienist and Dr. Woolwine is wonderful dentist. The front desk is extremely efficient and courteous, and address any concerns one might have. Would recommend Sonterra Dental without reservations to both friends and family!

This place has a very impressive staff and has the top of the line technology with all the modern gadgets. Be prepared, it’s not going to be a quick process, but the Sonterra Dental team will guide you through each step. I was apprehensive as I thought it was going to be excruciating, but Dr. Kara and her ace assistant, Ashley made the whole experience pleasantly painless. It helped that these two brilliant, proficient ladies are genuinely caring and have a great sense of humor. Yes, it’s a big expense, but it’s all about priorities. Don’t put it off as it’s such a vital part of your well being. The longer you wait, the more negative impact on your health. So, make a savings plan. Perhaps, skip that Starbucks latte, or pass on that brand name purse. The money you’ll pour on those material things will come and go, but your implanted teeth, will be one of the best investments in your life. Having teeth to chew with, makes food taste so much better! It doesn’t matter how good the chef is if you can’t savor all that deliciousness; chewing is an essential part of that process. So, have your implants done as I assure you that juicy steak will taste so much better than you had imagined and salivated over. CAUTION: Getting teeth implants may cause you to gain weight, but YOLO!

This office is so efficient, warm and welcoming. The energy to make a good impression on every single patient is amazing. The bright waiting area offers snacks, even if you need to wait . The office has the most advanced technology. The entire staff is beyond kind and helpful, Thank you Dr. Woolwine for your patience with this always frightened patient.

1st time to office, nice, new with high tech machines. Enjoyed my 1st contact with receptionist she introduced herself( sorry don’t remember name). Then Lauren my hygienist showed me the office, then sat & asked questions about me & my teeth. Ok now time to start cleaning. Was a good process. Then on to X-ray meet doctors asst nice as well. Now to meet Dr. T. I did love her very friendly. Plus she said no Cavities yay!! That means I get my free Whitening trays for life. So 1st appt was long but worth it, but once established.. time wise shorter. Highly recommend their office. Thank you … c u soon for my Whitening Trays!!

When I realized Sonterra Dental wasn’t in our network, I was discouraged and actually left. When Dr. Woolwine heard, wheels were set in motion to make things right and I happily returned. While I was waiting, Dr. Woolwine came out and personally apologized for the lack of communication and introduced himself. Thank God I returned, or I would’ve never had the honor of meeting Dr. Tapangan and Ashley who were utterly amazing! I’ve seriously never laughed as hard as I did with any medical staff- let alone a dentist! Not only are they both polite and courteous, they sought out my goals as they pertain to my dental health and educated me while going through my examinations. I felt heard, respected and cared for. They found errors in my teeth from previous dentists and worked with me to correct them. I won’t hesitate in recommending this practice, but Dr. Tapanga and Ashley will go far in this profession. My husband and two children all feel the same after each had their individual appointments with them as well! Great choice in your new dentist, Dr. Woolwine!

Sonterra Dental is the best dental office! The office staff are always so polite and helpful. They always greet you with a smile, and have been patient and accommodating anytime I’ve needed to schedule or reschedule an appointment. Dr. Woolwine is fantastic, he is patient, thorough when explaining procedures, and very professional. I’ve been seen by a couple different dental hygienists and they’ve both always done a phenomenal job.

I am always terrified as most to go to the dentist. However this visit was exactly the opposite. From the moment I walked in the door I was treated by two ladies with a warm and welcoming smile. Just a heads up, if it is your first time in there you will have you picture taken, so do your make up and hair. Lol thankfully I had actually done so this morning. The receptionist offered me coffee or water and asked if there was anything they could do for me. This made me even more comfortable. Once they call you back they give you a tour of the office which helps ease some anxiety. I am horrible with names, but my Hygienist was so sweet and got to know me first. While she is talking with me and us getting to know each other I feel my anxiety slowly fade away. Once it was time to get down to business my hygienist talked to me through the whole procedure. I will be going back for some more work, but I would definitely recommend Sonterra Dental to anyone and everyone. Best experience I have had at the dentist. The BEST dental office I’ve ever been to!!! I’m actually sitting in the chair here at their office as I write this because they were so great, I didn’t want to forget! I usually hate the dentist and avoid it a couple years at a time, but I can confidently say that won’t be happening again if I keep going here. The staff is SO friendly and EVERYTHING they do is thorough! The receptionist (Mary) gave me a tour and the dental assistant (Allison) explained each X-ray + everything she was doing! The doctor (Dr. Woodline) was so friendly, thorough, and answered every question I had! I’m so impressed by this staff and their setup! Will definitely come back in August (and April for my wisdom teeth removal!) and won’t be dreading it like I used to!

Great dental office! I will be making them my dentist office permanently moving forward. I have been to many dentist offices to find the best one that was friendly and honest. There are many dentists that will tell you that you need procedures when you don’t. I definitely recommend!

From the initial phone call and the detailed explanation of my insurance coverage with Ms. Monica, the kind words of Ms. Jess while she took x-rays and prepared me for the evaluation, and the calm, genuine approach by Dr. T so that I would understand each procedure and feel comfortable with the upcoming treatment; my experience with this team was wonderful! Each staff member I encountered as well as Dr. Woolwine were so welcoming! I do suffer from high anxiety when visiting the dentist. After a visit to Sonterra Dental I feel confident of their care and much more at ease. I highly recommend this caring, professional dental team!

Ive been under Dr. Woolwines care for about 2-3 years now and him and his team have proved to be very welcoming, personable and meticulous with their work. I never have to wait too long for an appointment and the office is very organized, never mistaking a request or appointment. Highly recommend his care, for excellent cosmetic solutions and simple routine cleanings.

Sonterra Dental is the best!  I have been going there for over 8 years and have not changed Dentists even though I had moved out to Los Angeles and then back to Austin. I have always gone to Sonterra for my dental care. I did search for local dentists wherever I was but not one compared to the detail, the depth, the knowledge, the cleanliness, the punctuality, and simply the friendliness that I have constantly received in the care from Sonterra Dental.   A+ on the whole package!

Outstanding service! I’ve been a patient since 1999. The practice was purchased a few years ago and they continue to provide 5 star treatment and care. My drive is about 25 minutes each way and I wouldn’t change if there was another dentist 5 minutes from my house.

Dr. Woolwine is phenomenal. He has done 2 beautiful crowns for me. He is very gentle and caring. His work is exceptional. I would know, I am a retired Dental Hygienist from New Mexico. His front office staff and assistants are friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend Sonterra Dental, if you are looking for a great dental experience.

After being told by my dentist that I needed to have implants & a bridge, I decided to get a second opinion. The high cost of my treatment & the time I would have to invest warranted this decision. I’m so glad I took the time to see Dr. Woods Woolwine. During my consultation, Dr. Woolwine & his office manager were not only extremely gracious, but most importantly they gave me a comprehensive explanation of the treatment that would address my dental problems. The visuals gave me a good view of the plan Dr. Woolwine recommended. That alone convinced me that I would have him do the dental work I need. I have to travel from New Braunfels to San Antonio to get my treatment and that will be somewhat inconvenient because I will need to ask friends to drive me. But I’m confident that it will be all worth it. Thank you Sonterra Dental staff!

This was my first time at Sonterra Dental after a recommendation from a co-worker. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. My hygienist and I had wonderful conversation during a thorough, but gentle cleaning and evaluation. I’m used to my gums bleeding terribly during the entire cleaning and then being uncomfortable for hours after. Other than the smooth feeling of my teeth I barely noticed I even had a cleaning done. The dentist was even nice enough to squeeze me in for a repair of a filling the same day. What an awesome group. I highly recommend them!

Hands down the best dentists around! The entire staff – no exceptions – is a group of the nicest, most caring medical professionals you can ask for. They genuinely care about their patients and their lives and they’re fantastic dentists and hygienists on top of it. (Extra special shout out to Pam and Lana.) Dr. Woolwine is so thorough and explains everything so clearly. Last week I had a procedure and Dr. T knew I was nervous so she gave me her contact information to follow up if needed. I became concerned over the weekend and she (happily!) met me in the office to take a look. I grew up in a small town where everyone went to the one local dentist and he knew us all, and this practice reminds me of that in a big city. If it sounds like I am gushing, I am…because Sonterra Dental is worthy of that! Make these folks your dentists ASAP!

Today I went in for a routine check up and cleaning but also as a new patient!! Before even arriving, the office sent an email that allowed me to do all my new patient paperwork online. It was easy and efficient. When I arrived for my appointment, they only asked my name and told me I’d be seen in a few minutes. No additional paperwork! Oh yeah snd they offered complimentary water, coffee, etc. in their waiting area. I was promptly seen at 9:00 a.m., my appointment time. X-rays we’re taken and I was immediately seen by a hygienist, Lauren. Lauren took a few minutes to just talk, asked about me, my family, what I liked to do, etc. Very nice! She was very thorough with her examination and cleaning. Every step of the way she explained what she was doing and identified areas I need to focus on. After Lauren, I was seen by Dr. Tapangan who reviews x-Rays with me and talked about the health of my teeth. She had a great way with me and I’m guessing with all her patients. I think I’ve found a new dentist!! Before leaving, Ashley reviewed billing, insurance info, etc and helped set up a next appointment. The office was clean, everyone was polite and they used modern equipment. If you’re looking for a dentist I highly recommend this office.

Very thorough examination by the hygienist Pam. Patient, explanatory, knowledgeable and very helpful. Made great suggestions/ recommendations. Including a wonderful homeopathic treatment for a canker sore.

I have been spoiled by this dental group. I am always, and I mean ALWAYS, greeted with huge smiles, friendliness and absolutely promptness. From the moment I walk in, I feel welcomed, appreciated and I know I’m going to get the best care ever. They have consistently met my expectations for 3 years now. My hygienist is always knowledgeable of where we last left off, from personal conversations to the status of my teeth. I absolutely love my dentist and the team. I wouldn’t consider any other dental office ever. Sonterra Dental is the best!

At 75, I have finally found my dentist. I knew going in that I likely would need a route canal. I was right. But I was surprised how easily it went. NO PAIN for the shot and the rest was a piece of cake! I appreciated the way he talked me through his procedures and what he was about to do. He was personable, even humorous, and worth whatever the procedure cost. “Unfortunately” I have to go back because I have other teeth that have been neglected for 3/4 of a century. But I KNOW he will take care of me.

So I am over a year late on writing a review for this place. I do not ever write reviews but this place is worth it. I just want to say as far back as I can remember I have had dental problems. Dentist after dentist filling after filling. Once I moved here to San Antonio I found a dentist with great reviews. I went and was seen by her each time I went the price would change and they were never honest and only wanted to fix what they wanted to. Due to me not having much money and a lot of problems with my teeth I got scared off. Now about five years later here we are. I went to this place to get prices of a full set of dental implants because I didn’t think my teeth were able to be saved. Doctor Woolwine came out into the waiting room and set down to talk to me. That right there was just amazing no doctor ever comes out to the waiting room and definitely not to sit down and have a one on one conversation. Now a little over a year in I still have my own teeth but they are looking a heck of a lot better. (Still need a lot more done and will have it all done here) From surgery to just cleanings this place is the best. Always so welcoming and never judging. The entire staff are just great people. After procedures Dr. Woolwine text to make sure you are feeling okay and not in to much pain. I literally could go on for days about how great these people are! Thank you Dr. Woolwine and your entire staff for being so great!

I hesitate to share how AWESOME Sonterra Dental is because I want them to always be available for us! Alas, they deserve five stars and more, so I must share. We’ve been there several times now – I for a cleaning, a crown and fillings, my husband for more extensive work, and my son for an extraction – and we all agree, this team is the best. Mary and Ashley at the front desk are caring and personable, and all the hygienists and assistants gentle and friendly. Dr. Woolwine is amazing at what he does – he’s considerate and careful and extremely communicative. Also, the equipment they use is all state of the art. I didn’t even know about the advances in dental care until I went to this office, but somehow, they’ve managed to turn an experience that used to be torture into something I actually don’t mind at all now. This is really saying something because the dentists I visited in the 80s and 90s almost had me scarred for life with their crappy and sometimes brutal work. Sonterra Dental has completely cured me of that fear. I could go on about how great they are, but I’ve probably gushed enough already, so I’ll just say this – if you’re scared of the dentist or you just want someone who will really care about helping you with your dental health, this is the right office for you.

I had an emergency dental issue. Called 11 dentist office none would see me that day. I called Sonterra dental and dr Tapangan had me come in even though they closed in 30 minutes. She and her staff stayed an hour late to take care of me. Later that night she followed up with me. I do not write reviews often but you have to give people credit when they go above and beyond for their patient’s.

Dr. Woolwine is an incredible dentist and Sonterra Dental is a very good practice. The staff is very friendly and makes the annual cleaning a very pleasant experience. Pam and Lana have been here since the previous dentist, Dr. Jackson, had the practice. Both are very thorough and friendly. Sonterra Dental also offers some very fancy technology (I will not disservice the business with inaccurate descriptions) but it appears they do offer a wide range of services with innovative equipment. I would 100% recommend!

Great first experience at this dental office. I was greeted warmly when I walked in, and made to feel welcome and comfortable the entire time. Dr. Woolwine is a fantastic doctor, and took time to visit with me and discuss some options related to my care. Great location with plenty of parking. I will be back for sure!

Dr. Woolwine and his staff are first rate! On Sunday evening I broke part of a crown I had received from another dentist when I lived in The Woodlands. I called Sonterra Dental on Monday and they worked me in within a couple of days. The procedure was painless and I was treated with the upmost care from everyone at Sonterra Dental. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking dental care!

My husband and I have been patients for more than 4 years and have always been treated with respect, dignity and in a timely fashion. I have never waited more than 5 minutes upon entering their office and am greeted by name and a smile every time. My cleanings are quick and pain free by the dental hygienist and the head dentist is always kind and prompt. When I have had questions dealing with my children and their dental history, the dentist has answered my questions promptly by phone or email. They are not even his patients but he cares for us and has helped us. On a personal note, I just called to ask for recommendations/advice about new dental care. I didn’t have to be put on hold, or wait 5 minutes for someone to assist me, but my question was answered promptly and I was satisfied with their answers. I really do feel like a respected and well cared for patient.

Probably the best experience I’ve had for dental visits in a long long time! I highly recommend this place! I was scheduled for root scaling with an in-network dentist office and decided to on different dental offices based on Google reviews. Sonterra Dental had great reviews so I called to check on the possibility of them accepting new clients. Amber was so helpful and was very knowledgeable about my needs and scheduled me for a consult the next morning. Once I got to the office for my appointment on Thursday morning I completed the standard new patient paperwork and was given a tour and introduced to Dr. Woolwine and the rest of the staff. Pam the Hygienist on staff was excellent on my follow-up for cleaning on Tuesday morning and Pam got to work right away. Even though I am a new client, I feel very comfortable with everyone in the office and certainly look at this as a long-term relationship for my dental health. I love the direction they are going in keeping current with technology. After my “deep cleaning” appointment I expected to have sore gums but didn’t experience any pain or soreness throughout the day nor the day after. I am very happy to have found this calm, profession, and exceptional dental office to visit regularly and look forward to hopefully many years with them. Pam, the hygienist, was amazing! She was so patient and made me feel comfortable the whole time! I usually absolutely HATE going to the dentist, but I will at least be going back for my general cleanings now.

New to the area, it’s always intimidating to choose a new healthcare provider. Sonterra Dental was the best choice I could have made. Not only did my teeth get some TLC, my CT scan showed I had a sinus infection I wasn’t even aware of. Dr. W got me connected right away with an ENT to ensure my sinuses got the care they needed. Friendly, organized, on time, so refreshing! I’ll for sure be bringing the rest of my family here.

The staff at Sonterra Dental are wonderful, friendly and informative. Dr Woolwine is very knowledgeable and looks out for my best interest. He is very professional. We have a good plan in place to meet my dental needs.
