As someone who is very picky with their dentists; this is the best dentist around. The young ladies at the front are extremely nice and were very organized. I went there for a cavity but they cleaned the tooth completely instead so that I didn’t have to get a filling. Very good, friendly staff, I strongly recommend them to everyone.

Dr. Matthew and his staff are amazing!!! My father is a dentist ( not local ) so I grew up knowing what a good dentist’s office is run like. ( They are actually hard to find..at least in CA) Look no further. Dr. Matthew’s office and entire staff are exactly how a dentist’s office should be run. The office is spotless, the waiting room is comfortable and warm, and everyone in the office is a joy to deal with. The office is conveniently located right off the 405 on Sepulveda. Parking is under the building and easily entered right off Sepulveda. You are immediately greeted by either Glenda and Lorena and they are both awesome!! They are the most friendly and welcoming staff I have ever come across!!! I did not wait long for my appointment which seems to always happen for previous dental visits at other offices. Dr. Matthew and his hygienist are both fantastic and extremely talented at their respective crafts. If you’re looking for a dentist this is the place to go!!!! You will not be disappointed!!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Matthew and South Bay Smiles. The office is very clean, the staff very professional and you are always taken in a timely matter. I have been going to Dr. Matthew now for over 5 years and have always had a good experience. He is very thorough and honest with his diagnosis and I have never felt like I was being charged for work I didn’t need which is important to me. Whether it be a cleaning, x-ray, filling, or other work done, I have always been satisified with the care Dr. Matthew and his staff have provided me. In addition, there are little perks like flat screen televisions in each room, an extensive movie library, and validated parking which makes the visit to the dentist more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Dr. Matthew and South Bay Smiles to anyone looking for a new dentist!

Dr Mathews office is all around the best place to have your teeth taken care of . From the front desk staff to the hygienist and the doctor, they all go above and beyond . I had a bad accident and cracked my two front teeth on vacation. I was so scared and upset and called the office and left a message on a Friday night . Dr Mathews himself called me back after hours and let me send him a picture of my teeth and then comforted me and assured me he could fix it and got me in first thing Monday morning . I mean talk about customer service ! I also feel like he treated me like a good friend . I will never go to another dental office .

Dr. Matthew is THE best Dentist EVER! I’ve been a patient for many years now. My review is definitely long over due. I initially came to him for a tooth ache but have had several old fillings replaced and two of my wisdom teeth extracted. I now enjoy going to the dentist office for my cleanings. I’m not afraid of feeling any pain, discomfort or judgment like I used to at my old dentist office. I was always embarrassed to come in for my cleanings so I’d always end up rescheduling. Now I come in to see Deanna, their fantastic hygienist, every six months! 😀 Dina, his dental assistant, is very sweet and makes you feel very comfortable. She always has an answer to any questions you may have. Extremely helpful! The front office staff, Glenda and Stephanie, are always great at sending appointment reminders and accommodating my follow ups to best fit my needs. Great service! Everyone in this office is amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Matthew and his awesome team!

I have had such horrible experiences with dentists in the past and Dr.Matthew and his staff are amazing- they made me wish that I came to see them sooner! From the minute I called and spoke to the office manager Lorena, I felt at ease. She took the time to answer all my many question and even sent me registration forms for my first visit via email. After I made my appointment, Lorena confirmed via email as well and gave me clear directions to the office and made sure I knew that they validated for parking! While I was waiting for my appointment, I took advantage of the free wifi available to clients while Lorena processed my paperwork. Once in the chair, I didn’t have to wait an eternity to meet the dentist, which I really appreciated and doesn’t seem to be the norm with other dentists. Dr Matthew and his dental hygenist took very good care of me. Dr Matthew listened to my concerns very carefully, he had a lot of empathy and helped bring my anxiety level down immensely. He explained what was a priority and exactly what he would be doing in that visit. He and his hygenist got me through 3 fillings as best they could with specified “chair side” techniques that put my needs first as a patient. Dr Matthew really took his time & made sure I was comfortable. I trusted him to handle my highly visible front teeth. I felt he did a thorough job. I liked everything about this office: highly efficient scheduling and communication, great website, free wifi, clean exam rooms w/TV/DVD, clean waiting room, even their summary of services page is awesome as it actually details what teeth they worked on for what issue and it summarizes estimated costs/insurance payments. Most importantly, each staff member treated me as a person first, not just a patient ID number, and I felt very well cared for. I’m actually looking forward to returning for a teeth cleaning next month! I will definitely be referring others to this dentist and office. PPO insurance.

I’ll echo the sentiments of many previous reviewers and say this was easily the best dental experience I’ve ever had. The location is convenient, the office is beautiful with amazing views, and everything seems immaculately clean. My hygienist (Deanna) was thorough, gentle and friendly and Dr. Matthew was very professional and courteous. I also consulted about doing ortho and they gave me some options and referred me to the proper specialists. Very impressed with this office…as long as I’m living in SoCal, I’m going to be a patient here.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in a long time and was honestly a big anxious to go. I was really worried that I had a few caveties since it’s been so long. The appointment was easy to book, when I arrived the receptionist was very friendly. I only waited about 10 minutes, then the hygenist took me back. She was one of the best I’ve ever been too, professional but friendly at the same time. She answered all my questions about how to clean my teeth and even taught me how to floss properly, in a way that doesn’t hurt! Dr. Matthew met with me after the assistant took x-rays and went over the health of my teeth. I did need 1 filling and he took care of it very quickly, he made sure to numb my gum with the gel before using a needle which helped a lot with the pain. He is professional and thorough. I highly recommend this office.

I honestly love coming to Dr. Matthew’s office. The staff here always makes me feel very comfortable and at home. Their service is always gentle and quick. I come here for all my teeth cleanings, cavity fills, and they even recommended me to a great oral surgeon when I had to get my wisdom teeth removed. If I have any questions or concerns they take the time to answer them and explain them to me. Glenda is the receptionist and she is also great at communicating with your insurance to see what your coverage is. I highly recommend Dr. Matthews office. They take care of you and are very professional.

Dr. Matthew and his hygienist Deanna are both awesome. They always are friendly, efficient and very professional. They are one of the few dentists I have gone to in the past 25 years (as an adult) where I have never gotten charged for anything extra or unneeded. It takes a lot of the stress out of going to the dentist to know they are truly on your side and not just trying to make money off you, and if they do recommend any work is truly in your best interest to get it done. The office staff is very pleasant as well – all around a winner!

The Hygienist is a sweetheart and the rest of the staff is great! Broken tooth and new crown and had it replaced with no pain. When I was home that day and after it was still pain free! Reading the past reviews I don’t know what some of you are taking about Dr. Matthew continued to check on me and offer more for the pain and sensitivity. Also, if you are complaining about the insurance rates then change your insurance! Hands down I will definitely continue seeing Dr Matthew!

I have been a patient of Dr. Matthew’s for years and would recommend him and his office to everyone I know! The are incredibly warm, caring, and knowledgable. When my daughters reached age 3 it was time for them to visit the dentist and I was so excited that this office would also treat Pediatric patients. Dr. Matthew and Deanna the BEST hygientist did everything that they could to make going to the dentist a fun experience for my little ones. They were able to choose the flavor toothpaste that they preferred for the cleaning and were so excited to visit the treasure chest at the end of the visit. The experience has been so great that they actually cannot wait to visit the dentist again! The ENTIRE office staff are so helpful and caring I have never had to wait but a couple of minutes in the waiting room for my appointment. If you are looking for a new dentist or a dentist for your little ones this is the place to go!!! You will not be dissapointed!

Over the years Dr. Matthew has filled a few of my cavities, fixed a few flaws and chips, and generally kept me happy with my smile. Deanna is talented and very nice. Glenda and Stephanie are good with appointment reminders and always work with you on billing and scheduling. The only downside is the parking garage has a low ceiling, so my SUV doesn’t fit.

Let me start by sharing my truth: I AM A BIG OL’ DENTAL-WORK COWARD. So, naturally why my tooth started hurting 6 months ago, I did what any reasonable American would do …I hoped it would “magically disappear.” That’s good logic, right? Fast forward to the end of July and The Pandemic is STILL raging and my toothache has decided to do quite a bit of raging on its own. It would not be denied! So, after a week of investing heavily over-the-counter 20% benzocaine cocktails, my river of denial had run dry and I called Dr. Matthew. I was able to get a same-day appt. Good News! I needed a root canal! I know what you’re thinking, “What manner of masochist would be excited about a root canal???” This gal! Not happy about the dental work, per se. (To reiterate, I’m terrified of the dentist.) Dr. Matthew clearly explained everything to in layman’s terms. I felt quite comfortable during the procedure. In short, I was well taken care of. This coward highly recommends Dr. Matthew! #bestrootcanalever!

I called my dentist in a panic last night after chipping my front tooth during dinner on my salad fork. I left several messages and called all morning to no answer. I searched yelp and found the amazing reviews about Dr. Matthew, Deana, and Glenda, and decided to call. Glenda immediately put me at ease, letting me know they had a cancellation and could see me immediately. I gave her my insurance information and she called to find out the extent of my coverage while I was driving over. It was difficult to find (I even had to call them – I have private insurance and it’s difficult to get answers sometimes), but she found out I have PPO and I’m covered. She even helped me with some of the charges until the insurance reimbursement. Deana and Dr. Matthew were also phenomenal and so incredibly personable. They listened when I had requested and exceeded every expectation. Not to mention, they validate your parking in the garage and have gorgeous views – loved watching the planes come in, the stadium, and the slope of the land up to Ladera Heights and Kenneth Hahn. Thanks for making this experience so smooth and beautiful – I’ll be back!

Dr. Matthew and his staff wowed me from the moment I walked in the door! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They talked to me while I waited and were very efficient in getting my paperwork processed and me in the chair. Deanna cleaned my teeth and she was very friendly and talkative which kept me engaged in the process and the cleaning flew right by! It was difficult to keep from laughing during my cleaning and XRays with all the fun going on! Aside from being an upbeat and friendly office, they are all professional, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to make your experience the best you have ever had. I mean – who wants to deal with insurance? I literally didn’t have to do anything. I just told them my insurance provider and sat back and relaxed. Dr. Matthew was very attentive and really listened to my concerns. I was rambling off a laundry list of concerns and services I wanted and he really put me at ease. He assured me we would take care of all of it one step at a time while providing me many cost effective options to accomplish what I wanted. If you are looking for a new dentist, I don’t care where you live… this is worth the drive from anywhere. I have recommended Dr. Matthew and his staff to all of my friends! At 10am on weekday I was sitting at my desk about to have an entire day of client meetings when my front tooth broke. My experience as a first time patient: I drove to my destination, pulled into the parking garage, and there was an attendant as I entered. I pushed a button to receive a ticket and I parked. The garage is nicely laid out and has plenty of parking. I took an elevator up to their office, walked in, and the office had a nice, warm, and welcoming vibe. I was warmly greeted by their staff. Both Glenda and Lorena are lovely!! They are the most friendly and welcoming staff I have ever come across!!! I filled out the new patient forms and waited until the dental room was ready. I didn’t wait longer than 5-7 minutes. I walked into the dental room and was greeted by Dina. She is also lovely, very friendly, and welcoming too! She is definitely an awesome dental assistant. She took my x-rays and answered all my preliminary questions. Soon after I was greeted by Dr. Matthew. Another friendly and welcoming professional! Very sincere, genuine, filled with integrity, and knows his profession! He discussed my conditions and treatment options with me and I was more than satisfied!!!!!! Soon after I was handed my treatment plan with estimated costs, a clean retainer, (I brought in for reference) and I scheduled my next appointment! Dental visits even for just a cleaning aren’t comparable to a spa day! But this place isn’t as scary and painful as you would expect. Got a nice cleaning from Deanna she is friendly and has a gentle hand! She warned me saying I would be sore and sensitive for a couple of days… But I was a bit sore for just a few hours! Love her!!! Met with Dr. Matthew as well …but I wasn’t able to take X-rays (might be pregnant so he wanted to wait to be on safe side) he gave me a visual exam and was able to point out an issue on a tooth I forgot was a bit sensitive from time to time! That was impressive! I will have to wait to get some work done but look forward to going back! Invisalign is something I look forward to once everything else gets taken care of first! Great location and they validate your parking! 🙂

I went to get a tooth extracted, it was a particularly difficult tooth but it went very smoothly, can’t complain at all. I am already recommending him to all of my friends. Everyone there is great, the receptionist is super friendly and helpful, the dental techs are all great with patients, and of course the Dentist himself is superb.
