When I had my teeth cleaned at South Lake Dental, I was warmly greeted by Pat and Amber. I waited very few minutes before Tania got started on cleaning my teeth. She has the most gentle touch, yet really gets your teeth super clean! Dr. Balikyan checked my teeth, in his usual professional but friendly way. He also answered questions about front teeth caps, and put me at ease about seriously considering doing it! Checking out, Pat helped me, again to figure out a 6 month date that didn’t conflict with a Fall vacation. (She’s done this many times before) Truly, everyone in that office is very helpful and friendly. It’s a pleasure going to the dentist there!! Margaret V

I’ve been coming here for several years and I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. They have been amazing before Covid and even more so since. They’ve done five root canals and crowns and they even still have Nitrous available (I am a 2D6 poor metaboliser so painkillers and local anaesthetic have never worked for me, to the point of having five fillings done in one sitting at the age of 8 with no Novocain… just Nitrous, so this is a MUST for me) and dental gold. After having my porcelain crowns chip and need replacement, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my teeth, period. My bite has been off ever since my orthodontist got arrested halfway through braces and as of today they’ve managed to fix it by carefully aligning my crowns, and for the first time in over a decade I can bite all the way down. Hallelujah!

When I told Dr. Balikyan about a molar that seemed to have become worrisomely sensitive to pressure, they took extra X-rays, and he did bite-tests, over and beyond my regular exam and teeth-cleaning. It was embarrassing that nothing showed up, and that my sensitivity seemed to disappear in the dentist’s chair. But of course, this was the best of all possible outcomes for me! Careful, conscientious, conservative dentistry.

I have been with Dr. Balikyan (Michael) and his staff for about four years now. The Dr. And his staff always make me feel …like a person and comfortable… I am a pretty tough dude but when it comes to drills and stuff I am sissy… but Michael and his staff are always so sensitive to my needs and concerns. Noemi and the front office staff work their magic on your insurance to code things correctly, and his other staff are skilled and careful my usual hygienist Tania is awesome! Super friendly and great at keepin my pearly whites, pearly and uh… white! Lol… Dr. Balikyan makes recommendations based on need and will timeline it to suit your pocket book… While I am not a fan of dentists… ( drills and stuff) I am a fan of South Lake Dental, and their talented professionals!!!

I’ve been a going to South Lake Dental for 3 years. I highly recommend them. I’ve never had to wait very long for an appointment. The staff is great. My dental hygienist does a very thorough job and my teeth feel great after a cleaning. When I had to get fillings done they always scheduled them within a few days. Dr. Balikyan even replaced one of my old metal fillings for me while filling a cavity on another tooth since they were both on the side of my mouth that was numbed. He always discusses things clearly and I think he does a good job explaining when a procedure is necessary or whether you should wait and see on something.

Dr. Balikyan took the time to explain to me what my situation was, offered few options including the costs and benefits of each choice, and offered his recommendation. After I decided on the plan of treatment, he quickly and painlessly took care of my problem. The guy has amazingly light hands – you do not even feel like someone is working inside your mouth on your teeth. His quality of work is superb. Very clean place with up to date technology. Staff are warm and welcoming. Parking is validated (free) – always a nice bonus for LA. I highly recommend South Lake Dental. Dr. Balikyan treated me with sense of compassion, integrity, and highest quality of care.

Best Dentist Experience!! Dr. Michael Balikyan and his staff are friendly and professional. I have been with this dentist for about 3 years and he is one of the best dentists I have been to. Dr. Balikyan is so kind and informative. We’ve been with him over 2 years now and plan on staying! Their new office is wonderful and I love that they have diffusers everywhere which really make me feel relaxed. From cleaning to cosmetic dentistry, I truly trust them.

I’ve been going to this office for about 1 1/2 years now and find the staff extremely helpful, nice, and accommodating. I especially like the dental hygienists – they are sensitive and always check in with me about how I’m doing as they clean and do their thing.

I’ve been to so many dentist’s since I moved to California trying to find a place I can trust and get outstanding care. A friend referred me to Dr. Balikyan, South Lake Dental. I went for a teeth cleaning and felt comfortable with the staff and Dr. Balikyan. At the time I was living with a broken Monroe for my two front teeth while trying to find a good dentist. Aesthetically and functionally past dentist’s had repeatedly failed me on my needs of replacing my front teeth which I broke when I was a child. I needed something lasting, healthy, and attractive. Dr. Balikyan listened to my concerns and gave me solutions for fixing my situation. I chose to have an implant and the other tooth replaced with a crown. This cost me a lot of money because the procedures were not covered by my insurance, so I was nervous to see the final result. I had many visits and steps to get the work done and not once did I have to wait past my appointment time. I finally have my two front teeth fixed and looking better than they ever have. The gums even look better than before! It took over 20 years to get to this point and BE HAPPY with the result. I’m so grateful of his ability and the teamwork the staff showed to make all of this possible! I had a complex situation and they made it happen! Total positive experience!

I am a total baby when it comes to visiting the dentist. Bad experiences after having lived on a few continents, I have been left with appealing English teeth doctored by socialised healthcare. You can imagine the result. Anyway after researching I found Dr balikyan and he took all fear away. He spoke to me thoroughly about my fear and why- pain- and dealt with me in a fantastic manner. I had no pain, was given some minority report goggles and headsets to watch netflix on and 1.5 hours later, he notified me we were done! This was after three extractions and bone grafts FYI… His nurses and receptionist are kind, knowledgable and professional. You always get a follow up phone call to check how you are doing with pain etc. I cannot recommend him and the practice highly enough. I’m lucky to live in the area but can promise you if I lived out of state- I would travel to him.

Dr Balikyan is like any other Dentist I I have been to. Wow. My tooth broke over the night and they got me in that next morning right away. They had to extract the tooth, but I honestly didn’t feel a thing from the numbing to the pulling of my tooth. The massage chairs and the friendly knowledgeable care I received was exceptional. I can’t be more grateful as this all happened 4 days before Christmas. Thank you South Lake Dental for your care and concern for me from the time I walked in the door that see receptionist Nomei to Dr Balikyan. I will recommend you to anyone and everyone. Thanks again!

I recently went to see Dr Balikyan at South Lake Dental. Unfortunately I went in there as an emergency after having a terrible toothache. I hate going to the dentist because of my past bad experiences. Dr B was wonderful, his staff was so nice, and the office was beautiful. They had high-tech digital x-rays, which was so amazing because I could see the images within seconds, without having to wait 30 minutes for the film to develop with the old school way. Dr Balikyan was amazing. I was in so much pain. He listened to my concerns, explained what was wrong with my tooth and recommended treatment. He discussed my options with me. He was so gentle, took his time, answered all my questions. I did not feel a thing during and after the treatment. I was so amazed by Dr Balikyan and his staff that I even took my wife there for her check-up and cleaning and she was so amazed too.

Very happy with this Dental Offive. Just recently started coming here from being unhappy before with as another dentist. Very little wait time excellent dentist and staff you completely explain as in everything. A completely wonderful office dentist and staff

This facility has a kind, understanding staff. Dr. Balkayan has taken care of my elderly mom’s dental needs for the past 6+ years and has provided outstanding, stress-free care. From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted and helped quickly. This has been helpful to me since I schedule my mom’s appts around my lunch hour. I highly recommend South Lake Dental for patients who are looking for excellent care for all their dental needs.

This is Your Dentist if you are afraid to go to one. Dr. Michael Balikyan is an gem of a person and an exceptional dentist with a personable staff. This dentist is very gentle and detailed. Those of you that have had horrible experiences, will welcome the warmth and skill he and his staff provide. With flexible hours, and his office manager responding even when the office is closed, you are in great hands. His office has the latest in technology, taking x-rays in your chair seemingly quick, and is very forthcoming of explaining everything! He has been my dentist for years, and I know for many more.

Excellent, professional, and thorough! Dr. Balikyan is very nice, and goes through your X-rays in detail with you, explaining every issue with your (horrible in my case) teeth. I went in for a deep cleaning which was on the pricey side but well worth the results, thanks to all the very patient and attentive hygienists! The front desk staff is also great, friendly and will go over all your options as far as insurance goes, to help you pay for all the damage you’ve done to your chompers over the years.

I’m a dental patient with a long history of specialized dental work given I had an accident when I was young that compromised my front teeth. Kids out there, be careful on those bikes! With that being said, over the years I’ve had numerous dentists due to moving and changing insurance plans. I first decided to see Dr. Balikyan based on a patient recommendation I had from a friend. Dr. Balikyan was younger than most dentists I had been a patient of in the past. This gave me some doubt on his experience and being able to meet my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that his knowledge and his abilities were the best I have had to date! I’m not the easiest patient(skeptical after being to so many unsatisfactory dentists) and he will take the time to explain his suggested work needing to be done making sure you CLEARLY understand. Over the course of being his patient I’ve had teeth cleanings, night guard, cavities filled, amalgams replaced with composite fillings, crown, temporaries and a dental implant all completed by him. It’s VERY important that the crown and implant were to look FLAWLESS along with keeping the gums looking ace (they are my front teeth after all and highly visible). I’m very happy with the results and during the procedures he is concerned with making you comfortable and your time. He is FAST! Not only is he fast I’ve never had to wait for my appointments to be seen and on occasion when I have arrived early I’m seen early! WHO is on time or early nowadays consistently?!

Dr. Michael Balikyan is professional, caring, clear in his explanations, and up front about procedure costs. I hated going to the dentist prior to starting at South Lake Dental with Dr. Balikyan. My two children, currently 6 and 8, like him too despite my 6 year old having to have a cavity filled. He is gentle and explains everything that he is going to do. The staff is nice and the massaging chairs are a definite plus too!!

I chose South Lake Dental based on Michael Balikyan’s professional experience, reviews from other patients and their availability during weekends given my busy schedule throughout the week. When I came to the office, I was greeted by pleasant friendly staff that were attentive to my needs. After I met with Dr Balikyan, he have me an accurate assessment of my dental hygiene and made recommendations that were reasonable based on my prior dental history. The dental office is well maintained and they have the most up to date equipment. If you are searching for a new dentist with a good moral work ethic, I would recommend this dental practice.

I was referred to Dr. Balikyan by my friend who is a patient of Dr. Balikyan’s for years. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Dr. Balikyan when my front tooth broke and I had a job interview in the morning. My friend called Dr. Balikyan and he came and fixed my tooth on his off day!!!! I have never seen a more amazing patient care than what this dentist showed me. He was very professional, caring, and compassionate. He fixed my tooth and I left the office with a huge smile. The next day I went for my job interview and didn’t have to worry about my tooth and could focus on the more important things like the interview. I can’t express how greatful I am to Dr. Balikyan for taking such great care of me during my emergency tooth issue. I would highly recommend Dr. Balikyan to anyone who is in search of an amazing dentist. I have referred him to all my friends and family who needed a good dentist. Thank you Dr. Balikyan.

I saw Dr Balikyan at South Lake Dental recently when my toothache became unbearable, I could not eat, talk, sleep – it was just the worst pain ever. I went to see this dentist with the recommendation of my co-worker who also goes to dr Balikyan. I was so amazed to see such a clean, beautiful office. They use Digital X-Rays and I got to see the pictures right away on the screen, that was really cool. The staff was so nice, the dentist was so nice, he took his time to explain the treatment and what was going on with my teeth. I had a wonderful experience, which is weird to say about a dental visit, but I really had a wonderful experience at this dental office. I am pain free now so i can write this review. I would highly recomend this office to anyone.
