I have been going to Southdale Dental Associates for about 20 years, primarily seeing Dr. Telander, who is excellent: thorough, knowledgeable, with a kind chairside manner. All of the hygienists I’ve seen have been really good as well. One has retired, my new one is also great, and I saw a different one today due to a schedule conflict (not a common occurrence). They have all been pleasant, knowledgeable, and done a good job cleaning my teeth. My son used to go to Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry (down 2 floors — also a great place!), and now he goes to SDA like I do. Heartily recommend!

I know some people would probably balk at having your teeth examined and cleaned and the appointment taking 2 hours but I truly love the thoroughness that this dental office takes with my mouth. Very thorough, the hygenist I had this time was Lyndsey and my mouth didn’t hurt after she scraped and cleaned my teeth! Plus, when the dentist stopped in she didn’t act like she was in a hurry to be someplace else! That was one of the main reasons I left my previous clinic!

I grew up with the same dentist as a child through mid 20’s and dreaded looking for another office where I looked forward to my visits. I have been a patient at Southdale Dental for over a year and wouldn’t look elsewhere again. I’ve had cleanings with two different hygienists and both experiences were professional, timely and thorough. Everything was great from the time I made the appointment to walking in the door and being greeted by friendly staff to sitting in the hygienist’s chair being worry free to leaving with a friendly “see you next time

The dental office of Cindy Sundet DDS is phenomenal! I have been a patient of Cindy’s since I was a little kid and have continued to see here throughout the years. It is definitely a very friendly warm environment where the staff are definitely courteous, respectful and understanding of your needs. I find that it is a great family dentistry best suited for any age….my sons first visit was when he was 4 and he loved it and he doesn’t mind brushing his teeth now…they did a excellent job. Thank You Cindy for everything you’re awesome! I’ll see you soon!

I have been a patient of Southdale Dental for more than 20 years. I have always received excellent and compassionate care. I don’t believe the dentists have ever suggested dental work that wasn’t absolutely necessary. And the entire practice has been EXTREMELY careful during COVID, being sure that both the staff and the patients are safe. I’d highly recommend this dental practice.

My daughter broke a front tooth at ski practice on a Thursday at 4pm. A dentist from this group returned my phone call by the time my daughter got home, did a quick phone appraisal of the situation and set up an appointment with another dentist in the group for early the next morning. We were seen on time, got a thorough evaluation and x-ray, and came out with a newly formed. lovely composite tooth. My high schooler was very happy and relieved to go to school with no evidence of her accident. We will follow up with the endodontist this group referred us to.  A perfect result!

This was my family’s first visit to southdale dental. The front desk staff were very courteous, we were all seen by the hygienist and doctor at the scheduled time. The cleaning and dental exam were extremely thorough. The hygienist and doctor was both very pragmatic in their treatment approach. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be returning to this practice.

Lindsay was great. She was very patient and thorough with my cleaning, answering my questions and providing me with the education that I’ll need going forth. I didn’t get a lecture but rather understanding about my other current health concerns and the impact on my teeth. Would love to have her care for me again!

I’ve been a patient at Southdale Dental for over 30 years. Each time I go, I always have an excellent experience and today was no exception. Jessica (my hygienist), did an outstanding job. She was very professional, highly skilled and showed a genuine concern for my well-being. She also took the time to explain each step of the process and offered helpful suggestions to maximize the health of my teeth. Then, Dr. T. stepped in to conduct a thorough exam which once again, made me feel confident that my teeth are in great hands. Thank you for the exceptional care I’ve received over all these years!

The receptionist is always very welcoming. My regular hygienist greeted me with a smile (as she always does) and we chatted intermittently about our families while she worked. She is very pleasant and thorough. Dr. Telander (whom I’ve seen for years) came to examine me. He was knowledgeable, gentle, kind, and thorough, as always. Answered my question about how often I need fluoride application (less often than I thought!) Another great experience.

Excellent dental care! I developed a rather bad toothache on Christmas day and by the next day, I needed help. The office has an emergency line and a dentist called me back within 15 minutes of me leaving a message, I had a full appointment scheduled for the next morning and a prescription to start treating the tooth. All of the people on the care team were just wonderful. I would highly recommend this group for dental care.

I’ve been going to Dr. Telander for many years. He takes time out of his patient schedule on Wednesday to see me for my exam with my cleanings (not his usual day to do this). Deb the dental hygienist is also wonderful. My son used to go to the pediatric dental associates on the fourth floor of this building and now he is also a patient at Southdale dental Associates. Update – I saw Jessica for a cleaning due to a last-minute schedule change of mine, and she was also terrific!

Dr. Telander and his assistant Deb are top notch. Went to in to recement a lost inlay (Christmas caramel) and it turned out to need a crown. They quickly set up for the procedure and finished all the necessary steps in a professional and wonderful teamwork way. It is a joy to see these two work so well together. I have been going to Dr. Telander for many years and always have experienced quality care in a compassionate way. This is true for all the auxiliary staff. Highly recommend the practice and especially Dr. Telander.

This is a great dentistry practice. They are so knowledgeable and are always concerned with their patients’ experience. First, you walk in the office and are greeted by the nicest, sweetest desk associates ever. Then you take a seat to wait for the hygienist to come, who always greets you with a smile and a few get-to-know-you questions. It’s nice that the people in the office get to know their patients. And it’s an especially nice distraction if you’re getting a scary procedure done. The dentists, especially, know their stuff. I have receding gums, so they recommended a toothbrush and other certain practices to use to reduce the issue. They also have a lot of suggestions when it comes to tooth sensitivity, things I never would have known but are very true. They’re also good at making scary treatments very easy on the patient. I won’t go into detail, but I absolutely hate dentists in general and I haven’t had a bad experience here. It’d be cool if they made the place look a little less like a dentists office, but whatev. I’m okay with that.

My family and I have been going to Southdale Dental for decades and every visit has been great! I would never want to go anywhere else! They know how to make you feel comfortable and are extremely professional. I think having a positive relationship with your dentist is extremely important, and they really hit the mark! I highly recommend Southdale Dental Associates!

I have had great difficulty in finding honest, kind, reliable, and professional dental services since moving to Edina. My experience with Southdale Dental Associates was perhaps one of the only times I actually enjoyed going to the dentist! My Hygenist was highly capable, kind, and professional and the Dentist was straightforward and made no attempt to ‘upswell’ services or procedures. The whole team felt personable, highly competent, and trustworthy!

I’ve been going here for a couple years now and always find this office to be efficient, clean, friendly, and very caring of the patient’s experience.  I truly appreciate that because I have a terrible phobia about going to the dentist.  Dr. Telander, in particular, does an amazing job and really takes his time to ensure that my mouth is perfect after doing restorative work such as cavity filling or a crown.  My family will continue to go here, just as relatives have gone here years before us.

What a fantastic experience. I was such a dental phobic before I came to this office, but now I enjoy going to the dentist!!! Great people and the dentists there are very gentle and caring. Everyone there treated me with kindness and I felt at ease. Thank you again for the great experience even if it was the dentist.

Southdale Dental Associates has been my provider since 1989. They run a very modern practice. Every few years the equipment is updated to incorporate the latest technology. Most importantly the practice is oriented toward preventive care. In my 29 years I have only had treatment that required care beyond the normal cleaning twice.

I was a new patient and went in for my consultation. Their offices were conveniently located, offered early morning appointments, listened to my concerns and addressed each one. They created a comprehensive action plan with me moving forward and scheduled me right away to come back for my cleaning and next steps. The offices were clean, quiet and staff was so friendly and helpful. I never have liked going to the dentist, but this was a very pleasant experience and i’m looking forward to my next visit.
