I would recommend anyone looking for a kind, competent and professional dentist to visit Dr. Halaka. A very friendly staff greets you at the front desk staff. Dr Halaka staff is extremely thorough, gentle, and true professionals. I have been a patient for over eleven years and each appointment/consultation is always very comfortable and any work that has to be done is always professionally explained for the maintenance of good oral health. Dr. Halaka explains all procedures well, consults with insurance companies, and then explains in detail exactly what everything cost. The costs of all procedures are never overpriced, the workmanship is of high quality and the Doctor is meticulous to details.

like most, I hate dental visits…. especially after not going for a few years, it can be somewhat intimidating and expensive. I think the word “spa” eased my mind but this place isnt about glam. The staff at St.George helped me feel as at ease as possible and they were very clear with explaining the condition as well as requirements to get me back on track with my dental regimens as well as being thorough in the break down on pricing.

I have been to st george dental last week..I had a pleasant experience….as soon as I arrived on the time they appointed me on, I was taken for an x-ray by an assistant named mikee who was respectful and nice…then a few minutes later I was seen by dr halaka who said I needed some cleaning and filling for my cavity…he did it for me quickly and I almost had no pain at all (im so senstive too pain…so having no pain with dr halaka really impressed me). I also had other questions …he was so attentive and answered all my questions clearly…I had no insurance but their prices are reasonable…I would recommend dr halaka as a dentist to anyone

I have nothing but good to say of this business. I’ve been a patient for MANY years (since mid-90’s). My teeth were in rather bad shape (cosmetically speaking) when I first arrived. I had a chipped front tooth & mild discoloration (heavy coffee drinker back then). In my line of work, I deal directly with clients & speak in numerous meetings. As such, your smile is your first impression on others. You don’t exude confidence when your teeth are unattractive. Over the years, I’ve had LOTS of dental work done at this facility. Crowns, fillings, cleanings, root canals (2), whitening ……….you name it. Most recently I had the LUMINEERS procedure done which has given me a “flawless” smile. These veneers look amazing ! As someone who was once rather self-conscious about his smile, I’m always grinning now. I’m periodically told by complete strangers during a conversation “you have such pretty white teeth”. Believe me, I NEVER heard that before coming to St. George Dental Clinic. Dr. Samir Halaka ( “Doc” as I’ve come to call him) is a consummate PROFESSIONAL. Personally, I wouldn’t go anyplace else (have NOT since first coming to him with a raggedy mouth years ago). He has improved my dental hygiene/appearance immensely whereas it’s just about regular maintenance at this point. I’ve never experienced any pain while he works (which keeps many people away from other dentists). He often asks about your comfort level while he works in hopes of alleviating any potential pain. He has a wonderful staff (especially his assistant Galena who is so nice & cheerful). Also, a newer member of the team named Rebecca who is quite attentive to your needs. I will NEVER seek any other dental service as long as “Doc” is available. I’m his patient for life…….by choice !

I went to St. George dental yesterday. Doctor S. Halaka did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. I am completely satisfied. He did everything I needed very fast and with almost no discomfort. He is my favorite dentist in US and I am so happy I’ve found him a year ago. That time he had done a great job with my wisdom tooth, deep cleaning, some cavities. I always feel so comfortable there, even though my teeth are pretty sensitive and I was always afraid to go see a dentist. But Doctor S. Halaka is different. He is extremely professional and he does all the work very quick. So as soon as I start feeling discomfort – everything is already done. But the quality of cleaning is really good and my teeth stay clean longer than usual. Before him I was doing cleaning only with many shots freezing a full mouth. I just don’t need it with him! I am so surprised. And he is very straight to the point and honest. I feel that I can trust him completely. Their prices are really reasonable, and Galena (his assistant) always finds a way to save my money. By the way, Galena is an absolutely amazing person. She is so attentive, caring and understanding. It’s a pleasure just to talk to her. I need to put crowns soon and I know I will do it there. So I definitely recommend St. George dental clinic to everyone. Great service, prices and attitude!

I hadn’t been to the dentist in 7 years, and when i went in for my x-rays, they found 4 cavities. I was extremely nervous to get them filled because I HATE needles. And pain. But the staff and doctor kept me calm through it. It was amazing. The staff was so friendly and attentive and did everything possible to calm my nerves. When it came time for my shot, Dr. Halaka kept talking to me and kept my mind away from the needle. Didn’t even feel a thing. I would recommend this dentist and his whole office to anyone who asks. Seriously. Very good job.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Halaka for some six-seven years, and feel fortunate to have met him. Some doctors treat their patients like quanta to be processed, so many in a set schedual where tempoal concideration holds precedence over what’s neccessary to do the job right, with a minimum of discomfort.; they might as well be working on a car engine for all the care they take with their patients very sensitive teeth and gums. A brisk, impersonal manner with little regard for their their patient’s comfort. Dr. Halaka, on the other hand, has a warm, calm, and confident manner, which is also evident in the near family-like feel to the closely integrated and highly proficient staff; and that he keeps up with the very latest developments in dentistry is evident from the thoroughness with which he describes your options. I walked in Dr. Samir’s office years ago. For me, that was the end of frustration and the start of getting good health for my teeth and a good run for my money. Dr. Samir is very knowledgeable and caring. He took time to explain exactly what I need, no more, no less. He took time to show me (upon photographing all my teeth) colors and shapes and options and the level of gravity for my teeth. I felt pampered. I was incredulous. So, after all this parade of kindness, I asked him about the prices. I asked about my payment options. I asked if he can give me a little discount. And I got more than I expected for!!! All the dental work is perfect, and I can’t be happier with it. Doctor Samir is charismatic and gentle when he works on my teeth. He is a great family man and a great doctor! Last time I was there, he told me my teeth are doing just fine. I smiled and said “that’s because I have a great dentist.” His staff is like a family. Galina, his long-time assistant, is a wonderful lady with a warm heart and remedy for all your problems; she will hold your hand and tell you a joke. She is very good at teeth cleaning. I had just flown into LA from Dallas, broke my tooth as I was driving (bit into a Mentos candy and heard a crunch)… I happened to be driving by his office as it happened .. I saw an Open sign. This is at 4pm on a Saturday! Got in just as they were about to close. They agreed to stay open and do the work. Just a temp fix until I can get home next week to have it properly addressed. I was desperate! While it could not be billed to my MetLife, the cost was still affordable. I wish I didn’t have to pay out of pocket but at least it was an amount that I could afford. He was kind and accommodating. I am normally terrified of the dentist but I felt at ease under his care. His front desk manager was a sweetheart. His dental assistant Mike was great. I am as psycho as it gets with dentists, having been tortured and ripped off, and all around scared. When I visited Dr. Samir B. Halaka at the Van Nuy office suffering from a tooth ache, I was a ball of nerves. I hadn’t seen a dentist in close to two years and I was petrified of what he might find. But alas, Doctor Halaka and his team were remarkable. Both the Van Nuys and Sunset location were clean, organized and provided exceptional service. Polite, highly skilled and very attentive. They had answers to all of my questions, were sure that I was comfortable and worked with me to ensure my dental visit was as seamless as possible. The receptionists kept me informed of my insurance so that I wouldn’t have have to worry about anything once my procedure was done. They showed me my x-rays and described what was wrong with my teeth, and what I would need to fix it. I’ve heard that root canals are nightmares, however my experience at St. Georges Dental Clinic proved the exact opposite. Believe it or not the procedure was painless. Dr. Halaka checked in to make sure I was comfortable and feeling at ease. I slept well that night and returned to work the next day. I absolutely recommend Dr. Halaka and will continue as a returning patient.

Let me start by stating that prior to visiting Dr. Halaka, I had not visited a dentist in almost 10 years for pro-active dental treatment, and only visited in cases of emergencies. By the time I visited Dr. Halaka, I had three teeth in need of serious treatment. I was ashamed that I let my dental hygene deteriorate. However, Dr. Halaka was not judgmental and there was no talk about what I should have done but he was focused on what we could do to make the situation better. I was extremely thankful about this approach because I had enough shame and did not need any additional commentary. I visited both the Van Nuys and Hollywood offices, and the Van Nuys office is very nice and had most of my hard dental work done there. The Dr. offers deep sedation in the Van Nuys office and was able to get my bridge work done practically pain free. I highly reccomend Dr. Halaka as he is kind, knowelgeable, effective, and non-judgmental. His office staff is also very friendly and helpful. Thank you Dr. Halaka for giving me my smile back!!!

I went to the dentist’s office for a cleaning and an estimate for a proceedure a couple weeks ago. Again it was a totally pleasant visit. Beginning with Galina making the appointment and welcoming me to the office. Dr. Halaka was not there as I had a Saurday appointment, but I soon felt comfortable with the younger Saturday dentist—I momentarily have forgotten his name but he was really fantastic! I have never really had much of a problem with my teeth. One cavity ever until I turned 18. But once I stopped going to my original dentist years later I needed a dentist fast!! Spent months ignoring the on and off pain on one side of my mouth. So once I couldn’t stand the pain any more I decided to randomly go to a dentist. Ended up going to Western Dental since it was the only place that I could find that would take me as a walk in. Horrible staff, the Dr himself was nice and easy to talk to. But I got recommended to go see Dr.Halaka, and I am so grateful. Turns out I needed a root canal, worst pain in my life besides labor. But I love going to them. Dr.Halaka is amazing!! The office staff is great, super friendly and helpful. He took care of me right away, even though my stubborn roots were deep and curved he made sure that I wasn’t in pain. I have found my new dentist. I want to send a big thank you to everyone at both locations. I will see you all soon and I highly recommend them to everyone and anyone looking for a dentist.

I first came to this clinic in 1998 and I am still going there for anything I need with my teeth. I am sure that Dr. Halaka is a top-level professional. He has saved several of my teeth including wisdom. I had 4 root canals (or, may be, more?) and there never was any problem. More of that, Dr. Halaka repaired some teeth that were treated in Russia at the time when there were no proper dental equipment or procedures. In 15 years I have not lost a single tooth though I have been having bad caries problems all my life. And I fully attribute it to Dr. Halaka’s skill and care. Every time I am being treated by Dr. Halaka, I am almost completely relaxed because there is usually no pain and I fully trust in his decisions. He has just finished one more root canal and, as usual, I feel great and ready for my trip to Europe. Thank you, Doctor!

Hello, I have been going to St George dental office for a little over 1 year. So fare I have to say I have been happy with the staff. Dr. Halaka and his wife accommodate around your schedule and I only have waited no more than 10 min. before being called in. The staff are very nice; they treat you like a family member not a number. I have done lots of work on my teeth and they assisted me with payment plans and did an amazing job on my front porcelain veneers. It was all worth it, I have recommended this place to my co workers and they have been pleased as well!!! Sticking to this dental office for sure !! and the best thing is that Dr. Halaka gives the best shoots , I have felt pain, and his technique is very smooth!!

This is my first review ever on Yelp! I just wanted to say how pleased I am to have found this office. I just got dental insurance and did a lot of research before choosing a provider for dental care. I also was looking for an office that would accept care credit because I would not be able to afford costly procedures without it. I was in a pretty bad state when I first walked into his office with a puffy face and infected tooth. I ended up having to have a root canal before my insurance became effective because my tooth was in such a bad state. Dr. Halaka is amazing and has a lot of experience. I feel like I am in very good hands with him and he is very attentive to making the experience as pain-free as possible. He was able to give me the root canal and then hold off on the post and crown (which I just had done today) until my insurance started to help me with the cost. Galena has been so very helpful with sorting out my insurance and helping answer any questions I may have. I know I may not be the easiest to deal with considering all the phone calls and questions I have, but Galena always takes really good care of me, and that means a lot to me. The dental assistants are all very nice, too. It’s a very homey atmosphere, reminds me of my dental office from home that I grew up with. 🙂 Also, two other great things – there is free parking in the lot below the office and they are open Saturdays.

I had only ever been to the dentist twice in my life, and that was when i was a little kid. They told me my teeth were perfect, and since i never had any tooth pain or issues, i never bothered going to the dentist as an adult. One day, a huge hole opened on my back tooth from acid reflux and i realized it was definitely past time. I went into some dentist on groupon and he told me it would be like $20k to fix everything wrong with me. I left and went to UCLA dental school and ended up getting up and leaving in the middle of a procedure because i was having such a bad panic attack. I avoided the dentist for a long time, thinking that i would have to be put under to get a cavity filled because my anxiety was so bad. I finally caved and came to Dr. Halaka and he was super gentle and patient with me. I honestly dont think i would have been able to get all the work done that i needed if it werent for him being so soothing during the process. I’ve been going to St.George since August 2016 after years of not taking care of my teeth. I’ve gotten multiple fillings, root canal, deep cleaning and most recently a dental implant. I have been to many dentists over the years, I’m one of those unlucky few who just have bad luck with cavities despite meticulous cleaning of my teeth. I have been to expensive high end dentists and this is by far my favorite. They are incredibly gentle, kind and helpful. Mosts dentists I’ve been to are very rough end I end up in more pain than necessary but not here….and not to mention they’re very affordable! I’ve been visiting this dentist’s office for about 3 years, since I moved back to LA (previously I lived in K-town, where there are many fancy, shiny new looking offices covered by my insurance plan). My last visit I had some serious cavities to get filled (some required porcelain) and I didn’t want to go to an office just because it had a nice lobby and expensive rent, so I researched doctors with excellent reviews, credentials and experience. I found Dr Halaka to be just who I was looking for, his staff is friendly and has gotten to know me over the years. Galina and Rebecca are the 2 I remember from my last visit, they were awesome, got me to laugh and kept me in great spirits, despite Dr Halaka preparing some pretty sharp tools for my cavity filling.. When it came to doing the fillings, the doctor continually checked with me to ensure he wasn’t causing excess pain and did a great job. No complaints, quick and efficient, am happy to have found this guy! Oh and in the 3 years I’ve been coming here for teeth cleanings and other work, I’ve never waited more than 5-10 min for my appointment, I VERY much appreciate this, this is NOT the norm with doctors/dentists… Thanks again guys, I’ll be back!
