So last week I was noshing on a particularly bone filled piece of fish and *chomp* I felt something weird in the back of my mouth. I go to check and it turns out I chipped a tooth. Oh crap, this means I have to go to the dentist. Well, I haven’t been to the dentist in awhile, and by awhile, I mean 10 years or so. On the bright side, I do floss and brush regularly. So to say I was experiencing a bit of anxiety would be an understatement. I found out my insurance provider assigned me to a random practice with horrible patient feedback, so I started to do some searching around on my own, and wow, there are a lot of dentists in “my network” with horrible reviews. Thank goodness I stumbled upon Stansell Dentistry, another 10 calls with my insurance provider and I was ready to make an appointment! I have to give Dr. Stansell extra points just for dealing with my insurance provider, I can only imagine what a headache it must be for them if it was this hard for me. So Tuesday rolls around and I arrive for my appointment. Amanda immediately puts me at ease upon check-in as I prepare myself for the medieval torture that I have imagined is to follow. Carmen takes me back and starts a series of x-rays. All of which are painless and apparently the news is pretty good. Dr. Stansell comes and goes over each one of my teeth and gums with me. She also cleans off all the buildup with the Cavitron, which wasn’t painful at all and now my teeth look and feel brand new! Turns out the chip is minor and doesn’t go through the enamel so I don’t have to do anything crazy. I do have a filling that needs to be replaced. Carmen finishes up brushing and flossing and getting me ready to go. Amanda gets me setup for my follow-up appointment and I’m out the door. Relatively painless and now my smile is looking good again. If you are looking for a smaller practice with a very personal touch, this is the place. Everyone is super duper nice and they do a great job. No one will give you a hard time if you haven’t been to the dentist in ten years and billing is very straight forward. I liked it so much I’m going back next week, but every 6 mos should be sufficient if you don’t need any work done like me 🙂

Had my teeth cleaned by Cat, who was super friendly. She did a great job and did not cause me any pain (I tend to be a baby when it comes to dentists and cleaning). Dr. Stansell (in a follow up appointment) filled one of my fractures. The entire procedure was done in less than 30 minutes. I had a device that kept my mouth open the entire time, didn’t feel a thing, and I watched Netflix with some pretty awesome headphones. She even fixed some of the previous fillings done by another dentist that was a bit high. Best dentist work I’ve received.

My wife and I went for the first time today and we are both in agreement. The entire staff is knowledgeable, personable, thorough, organized, helpful, and understanding. They take time to answer questions and we felt that they genuinely care about you. They are flexible in scheduling and we both had a very pleasant experience. Fully agree with all the comments posted by the other 5-star reviews. My only disappointment was that they have a poor collection of magazines.

Stansell Dentistry is EXTRAORDINARY! My family and I relocated from GA where he had a horrible dental experience earlier in this year. I knew we needed dental visit but was fearful of the outcome. The ENTIRE STAFF @ Stansell was so patient, polite, professional and knowledge about all of my family and my dental healthcare needs. The Office Manager Ms. Shannon set down and took out time to help me find an in network provider for my oldest son additional dental work. Midori, the financial coordinator gave us a complete breakdown of deductibles and out of pocket expense with was so reasonable that I call our insurance company and was told the exact same thing. The office was so clean and immaculate.The entire experience left such an astounding impression up my husband, two sons, and myself. We are happy to be apart of the Stansell family! THE BEST DENTIST I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! Everyone was so nice and friendly the office. My hygienist (Ashley) listened to all of my concerns about my teeth and made me feel so comfortable as soon as I got there. I couldn’t agree more with the previous reviews posted for Dr. Stansell. New to the Durham area, I was apprehensive about finding a new dentist that I could trust. From my first phone call to Dr. Stansell’s office, her staff was more than pleasant and helpful, dealing with insurance questions, straightforward about payment/costs, and able to fit me into their appointment calendar for the very next day. Dr. Stansell herself spent a good bit of “facetime” with me – more so than other dentists I’ve experienced – and thoroughly accommodating, answering all my questions and putting me at ease with my treatment plan. I have been most impressed by my visits to Stansell during the pandemic. Speaking as a working RN, they appear to have implemented every form of precaution. Dental staff are wearing PPE from head to toe, and I’ve seen air purifiers, and specialized suction equipment chairside to capture the spray created by procedures. They even have a separate exit to minimize the flow of patients through the waiting room. Most impressive! My hygienist is caring and works hard to educate her patients, and the fillings and recent crown placed have been relatively painless. I wholeheartedly recommend Stansell Dentistry @ Brier Creek.

Let me be clear, I hate going to the dentist. HATE it. But I absolutely love Stansell Dentistry. I’ve been a patient here for about three years and I’ve had cleanings, fillings, crowns, etc. from a variety of doctors and hygienists and it’s always a great experience. The office is clean and tidy, the receptionists are always friendly and accommodating, and they even ask if you want to watch Netflix or listen to Pandora during your service. Bottled water and coffee for patients in the lobby. Look no further for the best dentist’s office in the triangle.

I had my first appointment here in early January 2018. I had to switch because my previous dentist was no longer practicing due to a serious illness which has left him incapacitated. I had been with him since 1991, so it was hard for me to think about changing and learning someone new. He was a good dentist and was very conservative about doing treatments that may not be necessary just to make a buck. But I didn’t like the dentist who bought his old practice. I only saw her once. So I had read the reviews on Stansell and determined that they were close by to where I live. I decided to give them a chance. They are a great bunch! I had a list of questions to go over and they answered all of them. Since I was new they had to take a lot of x-rays. They were digital. I have never had digital x-rays of my teeth. I have certainly moved into the correct decade, century, and millennium by moving the care of my teeth here. My next appointment is in early July. It should go just as well. I cannot imagine why it wouldn’t.

I have been a patient with this office for some time. I have always received great care from all the staff. Everyone has always been very friendly and welcoming. I recently had to move to Baton Rouge and I needed to transfer my Invisalign treatment. There was some miscommunication between me and the office about this transfer, which left me very frustrated. Dr. Stansell gave me a call- explained the process and offered to help me, so the transition can happen smoothly. She took a rather frustrating experience and helped me feel at ease. You don’t always find such great service and care for patents everywhere. I really enjoyed my experience here. I was very sad to leave them. Great place!

After some trial and error (one major error!) I found Stansell. Finally somewhere I felt good about going and felt well taken care of. No matter which office I went to I found friendly, happy people who wanted nothing more than to make me feel comfortable and take good care of my teeth. Their equipment is cutting-edge modern with lighted images on the ceilings so that you have something nice to look at. There’s also the option of listening to the music of your choice if you prefer that. Teeth cleaning has improved by leaps and bounds and what once took nearly an hour (yes, I remember those days!) now takes, it seems, just minutes. They have this sonic water tool that blasts off the tarter painlessly. Wow! And there’s a $99 special for anyone without insurance. I’ve been going to them for 4-5 years now and I’ve never walked out of their office disappointed. Going to the dentist has never bothered me at all, even when I needed a root canal. But Stansell would make even the worst scaredy cat feel at ease. I sent a good friend to them and she loves them! Even if it’s a drive for you, it’s well worth the time.

I recently moved to the Triangle, after a few years as a Nomadic fellow and a failed attempt at nurturing a business venture that used teams of Platypi to work fields of cranberries for harvest . It had been no less than 3 years since my last visit to the dentist. I had erupted all of my wisdom teeth, however dropped out of Graduate School. Received a root canal before my Junior Prom from a man who resembled a Drunk Plumber/Mall Santa, who steadies your mandible by swaddling you against the doughy confines of his abdomen, and had been told I was cursed with “soft enamel”. You can understand that I had my reservations about another dentist, albiet, with fancy gadgetry and peri-exam Netflix. The plot thickens……. I called yesterday afternoon, and was in the office by this morning at 0900. A clean interior greeted me as did a host of pleasant, friendly dental health professionals. The new patient paperwork was completed on a touch-screen tablet in less than 5 minutes, and I was escorted to an exam room. Extremely clean, Fung Shui-y, and technology to the Max, Jack. I sat down under the exam lights, prepared to have at least 1/3 of my jaw removed due to my habits of chasing my Chocolate Chip cookie breakfast with a nice cigar and a can of Surge. Carmen was very polite, professional, and bottom line, a really nice person. She took x-rays in the same room, and they were immediately displayed for my viewing pleasure on the flat screen in front of me. We bantered about as she probed my neglected molars, talking about everything from ACC Basketball, the housing market, and how my lack of “game” probably contributes to my recent extended “celebration of solitude”. After a quick cleaning and gum check, all while enjoying Season 3 of Arrested Development with personal headphones (I KNOW!:D) Dr Stansell glides into the room with the grace of a thousand doves, her soul exuding sheer awesomesauce. Turns out Surge isn’t a suitable hourly rinse (Ricky at Whole Foods is a downright LIAR!) and my smile needs some mason work. They were very pleasant while telling me what I need to have done, reviewed my x-rays, and scheduled me for Molar Madness 2012! Mary Paige at the front was a delight to talk to, incredibly personable and admirably tolerable of my nervous not-so-funny-jokes. I walked out an educated man, armed with a Shiny New SonicCare toothbrush that makes my mouth feel as fresh and pure as a Legion of Evergreen scented Snowmen on a virgin slope of the Himalayans where it rains York Peppermint Patties. I actually look forward to my next visit, which I find almost absurd, and the exciting possibilities that await my canines. When you check out, give Mary Paige a High Five. Really, a good old fashioned one. Your day will never be as bright.

I’ve been twice to this office, after 4 years of skipping Dentists. It is not that Dentists are bad people, but I find that most of them are just insensitive boors who tend to treat their patients and employees lousy. Dr Stansell is not like that. CLearly she and her team truly enjoy working there. They are on time, polite, and sensitive to your needs. Dr Stansell also treats her people with respect, and me like a human being. I’ve been to 2 other dentists here in the Triangle – one who treated his team like trash in front of patients, and another who was so bad, I got up and walked out on in the middle of my appointment. If you are looking for a dentist who is state of the art, and is sensitive to you, and has hired a team that projects the same, go visit this team. You will not regret it!

I have terrible anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. In the past I have had to take medication and even have sedation for any work. My FIRST visit into this office I already felt better then I did anywhere else. From being greeted by the most friendly young lady at the reception desk, to the sweet hygienist who talked just evenly and calmly to keep my mind distracted, to the amazing. Dentist who complimented and gave advice how to better my teeth. You can tell they all get along and love what they do. Which made for such a pleasant atmosphere! Also. The hygienist is a saint and barely had to make that terrible scrapping on my teeth because of the updated tools and technology they use. All around AMAZING experience. Hands down the best dentist I’ve ever been to. I’ve now visited both Raleigh offices on multiple occasions and the experience is about as positive as it gets at both places. I really don’t like the dentist; unfortunately it creates a lot of anxiety spikes for me. The staff at Stansell are well trained in awareness and empathy. They pay attention to any signs of discomfort, both physical and emotional, and are quick to pause and check in. The receptionists are always incredibly friendly, cheerful, and (presumably by referencing your photo on file) always address you by name when you come in. They are at the ready to choose a netflix program or pandora station for you to watch/listen to during your appointment and they are incredibly efficient and effective at their jobs. I know the dentist is generally no one’s favorite place to go, but for the first time ever, this office has inspired dental loyalty from me.

Visited Stansell Dentistry today after a number of years of neglect of my teeth. I’ve always hated the dentist and was not looking forward to this visit. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel comfortable from check-in through checkout. The X-rays, cleaning, and final check/review by Dr. Stansell were all efficient, painless and they kept making sure I was surviving the experience. I would definitely recommend Stansell Dentistry to anyone looking for a new dentist. One of big pet peeves with previous dentists was their immediate suggestions that I schedule an appt for elective or cosmetic procedures. Nothing was ever necessary (I haven’t had a cavity for 30 years), but it was always recommended that I seriously consider these extra procedures.

Went back for my filling and loved it. Well, as much as you can like a filling, I guess. I got an email ahead of time with a coupon that gave me $25 off my service (yes, please!), and their procedure during the filling was unique and really awesome. They used some sort of mouth contraption that kept my mouth open while the filling was being done so I didn’t have to worry about anything aside from remembering to swallow every now and again. The only slight downside was that the dental assistant almost said I couldn’t use it because my mouth was too small. Dr. Stansell told her to try it again and thankfully she did, because it made everything way easier on me, which I appreciate. Still didn’t try the Netflix/Pandora thing. Perhaps next time.

Of all my interactions with healthcare providers I must say Stansell was the best. I worked with Karen (I hope I spelled her correctly 🙂 ) on reception and Stephanie (Dental Hygienist) and they were amazing. This was my first appointment so I had to go through the new patient registration which was as simple as they could make it. I received reminder call the day before and a follow up call next day of my appointment. They have tightly integrated their service with technology and I love that 🙂 All the staff was friendly and caring. They were quite through with their work and knowledgeable. The doctor explained me everything in detail and made sure I understood why he had made his decisions which made me quite comfortable. I would highly recommend Stansell Dentistry.

So convenient. So clean. So professional. So friendly. Additional Comments (12/22/2020) I’ve been coming here for quite a while now. It wasn’t until yesterday that I realized this place is so much more than a dentist’s office. I walked into get a filling and new Invisalign trays fitted. As I was getting in and out of the chair, I completely through my back out. Legit, could barely move. The ladies (including Dr. Stansell) were so helpful! They helped me get up on my feet. Helped me to get into a comfortable position. One person, I believe her name was Jasmine) tried getting me a wheelchair from upstairs. The pain of sitting back down prevented me from accepting it, but the though was amazing! Everyone really cared about me being comfortable. I was even walked out to my car by a tech. She wouldn’t leave my side until someone came for me. I’m so touched! Very happy to be a patient of Stansell Dentistry. Highly recommend!
