I’m just happy that Dr. Sohrab and the lady who cleaned my daughters teeth were successful. My daughter is usually difficult with physicals so I was sure that they were gonna have a hard time with her. Her being able to see the other children encouraged her to allow the tech and dentist to do what they do freely. He sang to her while he did his stuff and the tech talked and talked with my two daughter who is only 2 (who still does a lot of baby talk). She felt acknowledged. Like a big girl. I was very grateful. Definitely gonna deal with all my daughters dental needs here. Office staff a little unfriendly but like I said, I’m happy with the dentists.

I feel so lucky that we found Dr. Sohrab. Your child will not have a better first experience at the dentist anywhere else. Dr. Sohrab is so incredibly patient and caring with the kids. He takes his time with each patient and you never feel rushed, like other dentists might make you feel. The atmosphere of the office is so light and happy — kids love being there. So grateful for Dr. Sohrab and his amazing staff!

It was great!! They know what they’re doing and know how to deal with the children. Took both my boys and they had no complaints. My oldest went in there saying he didn’t like the dentist and left saying it was easy and nice. Haha . i was able to stay with them while they were being seen and they made sure i was ok and comfortable too. Loved the staff, the Doctor, and the whoñe experience altogether.

Okay so im am 14 going on 15 and today i went to the star kids dental. And let me tell you, from the outside, before i walked in i was like, “Wow, this place is pretty small.” but as soon as i stepped in, it was like a wonderland for kids. There were 5 tvs in the waiting room so the kids can watch tv while they’re waiting, 3 of the tvs are really small because those tvs are for playing the xbox and the other 2 are for watching tv. As soon as i came in, i went on the rocking pony. This place brought the inner 5 year old in me. It is soooooooooooooo clean and it smells minty inside. The lady in the front was super nice and you could tell that she loved her job very much. When you go further inside, it is SUPER huge. There are more tvs in the back were the chairs are so when kids are getting their teeth checked they can wath tv also and when they work on your teeth such as fillugns or sealents their is a tv on the cieiling where kids can watch. The numbing paste tastes like strawberry. hmmm. this place is awesome and the Dr. was super gentle and nice. PLEASE take your kids here. Ooh and after they gave us a bag with a free toothbrush and some floss. we also got to pick a prize from their prize wall!! Also if you refer a friend, you can get a FREE pillow pet!!

Star Kids Dental was by far the best dental office I have been to 🙂 super clean, the staff was wonderful, sweet and very attentive Britney, Nancy, Amy, Manny thank you :):). As for the wonderful Doctor he took his time to explain each and every process and tool to my daughter in the most fun way so she doesn’t get scared, and Literally sang to her through the whole process making her feel so comfortable and happy she was done in no time. 4 words to summarize my thoughts: AMAZING DENTIST! FANTASTIC OFFICE! Now more words as to specify exactly why I felt this way. I first entered the office and noticed how clean and organized it was. The staff were ALL friendly and seemed like they actually wanted to be there (which doesn’t seem as common these days). They had toys, video games, a clean restroom and a huge WALL OF TOY PRIZES that even made me a little excited. I wished I could take one home, but I guess we live our joys through our children sometimes. My son was very comfortable with the environment and the friendly staff. Poor Dr. Sohrab had to patiently work through 11 cavities for my son. My son turned out to not be as easy of a patient, understandably so with 11 cavities. Dr. Sohrab was patient, loving, sang songs during the procedure and spoke to him like a human and not just like another number to fill a quota. Keep in mind all the while my son would move his head, try to close his mouth, cry at times, wiggle, etc. He truly cares about the child and you can see his staff respect him for that. I earned a new level of respect for dentists after this experience. I made the longer drive to visit this doctor and I would not hesitate to do it again. Also I used Dr. Sohrab as a 2nd opinion from our other more local pediatric dentist (both offices’ have Delta Dental through my Kaiser plan). The other doctor didn’t get good x-rays of his canines and Dr. Sohrab found another large cavity. Also the difference in the other dentist’s demeanor and bedside manner was 180 degrees different from Dr. Sohrab. The other dentist was impatient and felt like he was talking down to us and our child (maybe he was having a bad day). He didn’t seem like a person that liked children. I later checked his Yelp page and noticed about 1/3 of the reviews stated the same thing, so my feeling was confirmed. Some people were born to be naturals in their line of work, others are just trying to walk the walk.

Dr. Sohrab of Star Kids Dental is really something special. I’m so happy I crossed paths with this pediatric dentist. In the first few minutes of talking to Dr. Sohrab I was exposed to so much education and important tips that could help prevent future cavities for my children. In fact, as soon as I left the office today I immediately told a couple important tips to my friends on the phone of what I learned, which they had no idea about… how cool is that. I’m sorry to say that my poor child of three years old, Luke, has five cavities that I didn’t know about. I wish I’d met Dr. sooner because this could’ve been prevented. We thought we were getting the proper care and information from our previous dentist, Dr. Levy of Encino, but I was completely misled in our child’s healthcare and now Luke is suffering because of it. It might not be very polite to call out this dentist. But I feel like it is my duty to let other parents know that they need to find the right dentist that actually will help prevent pain and suffering… and of course cavities. This dentist is a gift to our family and I’m very happy I met him. Thank you Dr. Sohrab. Oh… did I mention this dentist sings to the kids? Its awesome… That in and of itself is worth the price of admission.

I would recommend Star Kids Dental & Orthodontics to anyone, and if you need a dentist look no further. From the moment that I called in to schedule our initial appointment I felt that Star Kids Dental really cared about our 3 kids. The front office was so kind and professional. Dr. Sorhab was amazing. My wife and I did what many might never think of, we brought all 3 of our kids ages, 2, 4 and 8 for an appointment together. Dr. Sohrab was recommended to me by our children’s dentist (whom we love!) outside Boston. Having just moved to California I have spent a lot of time carefully selecting doctors and dentists for my family, and feel good to know that Dr. Sohrab can treat my children, who are 3 and 1, all the way to 18. Both the female and male techs were outstanding and gentle even when my one-year-old was unhappy having his teeth cleaned. Nancy in reception is helpful, patient, and kind. Dr. Sohrab is enthusiastic and wonderful with the kids, and he was thorough in his explanation of my daughter’s first X-rays and in his response to my questions about the effects of fluoride. I am fully confident in his knowledge of dentistry and his ability to serve my children and would find a way to pay out of pocket if insurance didn’t cover our visits. I would not take my children to anyone else.

Dr. Sohrab is extremely professional, amazing with children, patient and has a great personality. My daughter, almost 3 years old needed to see Dr. Sohrab for her 1st visit and follow-up visit because she had 2 cavities. I was very nervous and so was my daughter. He put us both at ease. Him and his staff helped my daughter calm down so they could take X-rays and examine her teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Sohrab’s pediatric office. He’s very patient with kids and enjoys being around them. My daugther can’t wait to go back!

This place really has everything to have 10 stars, the atmosphere of the place is quite friendly and extremely clean. The office has different activities (books, toys, tv games) for children so that they do not become anxious in waiting, inside the exam area it is quite clean, with television screens for children to distract while they check their teeth, the staff is really quite friendly and kind Dr. Bonny took the time to review my son and explain to me very well the procedure that was necessary to do my son, because it was a procedure that needed asap treatment they did everything possible for my son to be treated that same day. In the procedure my son was a little restless but Dr. Bonny was very patient and kind to my son the service that Dr Bonny gave my son was quite professional, thank you so so much Dr Bonny

We took our son to Start Kids Dental for his first check up. The office is very clean and modern. Dr Sohrab seemed very knowledgeable in his field of expertise. He is great at making kids feel comfortable and his singing seemed to sooth our son. He gave us guidance on what to do and what not to do at the early stage of our child life so he can grow up cavity free. He also went over the sequence of development of his teeth in the future and what to expect. We didn’t require anything major at this visit but will definitely be back for his next 6 month checkup.

I truly feel like we hit the jackpot with Star Kids and most especially with Dr Sohrab. He was 100% kind, thorough, thoughtful and skilled. He explained everything we needed done which was unfortunately a lot. We’ve had prior dental experiences with so many child dentists as well as a variety of others that were not much short of awful. All of the staff was accommodating, even getting us in on the first visit for treatment later on that day. There was virtually no wait time and genuinely interested and attentive staff who truly cared. Thank you from a very happy mother who had nearly given up hope on finding a quality practice. You made all the difference and i have a very relieved daughter who even thanked the nurse and doctor after a tough extraction!

I dont know where to begin. Dr. Sohrab and his staff are amazing. The office is extermly clean and kids friendly. Everything is designed to appeal to children and their taste. I took my nephew for his first check up. He is one years old and my sister and I wanted to make sure that his teeth are taken care of properly. I am not sure how many one year old will be excited to go to a dentist or a doctor but my little nephew was so happy when he saw the toys and the books that we could read to him. We were greeted by a nice front lady who took all of our information. Later on, we were called by the dental assistant who greeted us with a smile and started to entertain my little nephew. She patinetly explained the inital visit. My sister sat on the chair and held my nephew while She cleaned his teeth. He was not too happy but we were able to distract him with hanging monkey. The best part was when Dr. Sohrab came. He was wearing funny jackets that make him approchable. My nephew was not scared to see a Dr. He sat down and explained to us what we need to do to take of his teeth properly. Later on, he started to sing to my nephew and my nephew was mesmeried. The entire vist was amazing. That was not the ending. My nephew was allowed to take a toy from a wall of toy and a ballon. We also recived a care package such as toothbrush and toothpaste and floos. We are so happy to find this amazing place and will be your patient until you kick us out. Big Thank you to Dr. Sohrab and his amazing staff. God bless you guys.

As a dentist myself, I’m very critical when visiting other establishments. Star Kids came highly recommended, so I had high expectations. The visit for my 2 year old daughter’s exam definitely did not disappoint. The waiting area was clean and well-maintained. The receptionists were friendly and welcoming. I’m not really the type of person who rights review but the amazing experience I had at Stat Kids Dental needs to be shared with the world. I went in to get my wisdom teeth removed, and as some of you would know this is an extremely painful and difficult operation. However, this is not what I felt during the procedure. Initially, I was extremely terrified sitting in the chair, who isn’t when they are about to get operated on? But as soon as they began the procedure I knew I was in amazing hands. Terrified of the pain I was going to experience, I was shocked when I didn’t feel a thing. Additionally, Dr. Apel was so professional and caring that throughout the procedure he kept asking me if I was okay and as the procedure was coming to an end he informed that we were almost done. I was shocked at how fast and amazing this experience went given the fact that I was getting all four of my wisdom teeth taken out. The recovery process was probably the hardest part of this procedure, however, anytime I had a question about what I could and couldn’t eat or absolutely anything else the staff was very responsive to me and did so in a timely manner! Overall thank god all my wisdom teeth are out I wouldn’t go through it again but if I did best believe I am going to Star Kids Dental. With Dr. Apel and Dr. Sohrab’s professionalism, hard work, and care for their patients everyone is in good hands! Thank you Star Kids Dental for making my worst fear the best experience it could be!

The five star rating tells the story. Star Kids Dental is wonderful. The atmosphere is perfect for kids of all ages. The employees are fabulous, caring, and genuine. So if you are looking for a dentist for your child that is the best, look no further than Dr. Sohrab. Take my word for it do your child a favor. I took my daughter elsewhere first and had a terrible experience that haunts me for picking that office. My daughter was terrified of the dentist. Unfortunately my daughter had 4 cavities and was complaining of pain so I knew I had to find another dentist. Dr. Sohrab, our Savior. He informed me that my daughter had 9 cavities and that he could get the whole job done in an hour if I give him the chance. He and his assistant are soo caring and patient with kids it is unreal. Half way through the Xrays my daughter said ” Papa, if I get another cavity by accident, can I come back here? I like this Dentist.” As stressed out and worried as I was, that was music to my ears. During the 9 cavity repairs including 5 caps, Dr Sohrab sang to my daughter which was so endearing coming from a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist who is yet to become a father. I can imagine what a wonderful dad he will be some day. So read all the reviews you want, but if you want the best for your kids. Dr Sohrab is THE MAN!!! It has been three days since my daughter had her teeth fixed and she doesn’t stop raving about how much she LOVES her Dentist Office. They are the best. God Bless this office for putting together such a wonderful group of people.

I must say I have never experiences anything like this. At least not when I was a child. Wish they had offices like this when I was growing up. I just wish I could be seen at the office. I loved everything from the moment I walked into Star Kids with my daughter. She is only 4 but I thought she would have a hard time. The helpers were so nice to my child. The doctor even sang songs for her while he did a few filling that she needed to get done. I was expecting my child to cry since they usually do at her age but I was so impressed by my own child and just everything surrounding the experience. Definitely a 5 star office overall in my book! Great trustworthy pediatric dentist! My 7 year old daughter and 3 year old son love going to the dentist thanks to Dr. Sohrab or Dr. S..as they call him. Last visit my 3 yr old literally greeted him in the waiting room with a hand shake then opened his mouth to show his teeth 🙂 He has made them feel so comfortable and secure since day one. The office is beautiful and very child friendly as well as the staff. Almost makes a child forget they are at the dentist.I would definitely recommend this office to any parent looking for a dentist they can trust for their child! Absolutely amazing! I’ve been bringing my kids here since they opened and every time I’ve been to Star Kids Dental, my experience has been consistently incredible! The staff is professional, courteous and wonderful with my kids. The office is always clean and super kid friendly. Dr. Sohrab is great with kids. My kids always feel welcome and at home at their office. Dr. Sohrab and his staff really go the extra mile to make sure that my kids feel comfortable with their cleaning, x-ray, procedure, etc. My kids left Star Kids Dental with a great big smile and so did I. It’s taken me too long to review Dr. Sohrab. My poor little daughter saw a different dentist who missed a bunch of truly massive cavities. We had DentiCal at the time and I was very disheartened looking up the doctors who took that insurance. Dr. Sohrab found 4 more cavities. That’s 8! He was so patient with me and even spoke at length on the phone to my father who is also a dentist but on the other side of the country. It’s a terrible experience for a 4 year old to have 8 cavities filled. So it’s not like it wasn’t a miserable experience. But he did this truly difficult job, and never feared that he wasn’t doing enough, or that he was doing too much. He’s very smart and trustworthy.

Sohrab has been practicing as a specialist in throughout the San Gabriel Valley, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, and South Bay for many years. Dr. Sohrab always wanted to open practice close to where he calls home. He always had a vision of how he could create a fun loving environment where children would enjoy coming to the dentist. Our pediatric specialist, Dr. Sanah A. Sohrab was born in La Canada, Flintridge, California. He attended the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) for his undergraduate studies and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California (USC). He went on to complete additional training at the New York University (NYU), earning a specialty degree in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Sohrab has many years of experience in the field of dentistry. Dr. Sohrab is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentists recognized by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry which is the only certified Board recognized by the American Dental Association for the specialty of pediatric dentistry. Being board certified validates the knowledge, application, and performance requisite to the delivery of exceptional care in pediatric dentistry.
