I had a first class experience at Dr. Steven Hecklin and Dr. Brittany Burd’s Office and I definitely plan on being a repeat patient. They quickly got me an appointment within a week and at a time that worked for me. Their online new client on-boarding process was super easy and quick. I just needed to give my basic information and compete a quick medical history questionnaire. It only took about ten minutes to complete everything. This eliminated having to do a formal check-in and filling out paperwork on the day of my appointment. Great communication and reminders via email and text about my upcoming appointment. They even sent me a calendar event for my appointment so I could automatically add it to my calendar on my phone. Since we are in COVID they had me call from my car when I got there the day of my appointment. Once they told me I could come in, I was greeted by a friendly staff wearing a mask. They sprayed my hands with sanitizer and took my temp then walked me straight back to my room. The office was bright and clean and friendly. The dental assistant Ashley was very friendly and professional and Dr. Brittany Burd was awesome! I was there for a cosmetic procedure to fill a few small gaps and file down some ridges on my front teeth. It was painless and I was out of the chair in and hour. These are things I’ve wanted to fix about my smile for YEARS! I always assumed it would cost $1,500+ and require a retainer or invisaline. I already had braces as a kid and didn’t want to go through that again. I’m SO glad I consulted with Dr. Burd and she told me about bonding as a solution. This was a game changer for me. Now I have the smile I always wanted. I couldn’t be more pleased or impressed with my experience at their office. In summary, go see Dr. Hecklin or Dr. Burd. They are awesome. They do great work. Great staff. Affordable. Just do it!

I have a fear of going to the dentist. Without a doubt, Dr. Hecklin’s office made me feel comfortable and at ease . From clearnings to a recent crown, I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Hecklin and his staff. Kind, caring, compassionate and professional If anyone is looking for a great Dentist, I would highly recommend him!

I’ve been going to Dr. Hecklin my entire life. He is loved and respected by all of his patients. We’ve had multiple emergency dental situations, and he has always been willing to help us even when it has been outside of office hours. I know that I can trust him with my teeth which is a huge comfort every time I walk into their office. I’ve also seen Dr. Schlessel which has been an equally comforting and successful experience. Highly recommend both of them for cosmetic and routine dentistry!

When I unknowingly bit down on a cherry pit and crushed my molar I panicked: I was in SO MUCH PAIN! I called Dr. Hecklin’s office but they had already left the office for the day. I called his emergency number and was extremely relived to hear his voice. I told him what had happened as best as I could through so much pain. He told me to come on into the office now; it was after hours. He and his sweet wife met me there. He took one look at my crushed tooth and said you need an oral surgeon RIGHT NOW. Within the hour he had me lined up for oral surgery, and within 4 hours my surgery was done and I was back home recovering. This was a harrowing, painful and unexpected experience, but I am forever grateful to the compassion and kindness Dr. Hecklin showed to me along with the patience and caring of his wonderful supportive staff. Circumstances don’t make us who we are, they reveal who we are…..when the chips are down, you can count on Dr. Heclkin and his staff. They are the VERY BEST!!! Now that its for my implant to replace the molar, 3 guesses who is doing that? EXACTLY!

I’ve known Dr. Hecklin for many years….and I must say…he is among the very TOP of those dentists that is knowledgeable, conservative, passionate, patient, laid back, and a pleasure to have as my dentist! The office is inviting, relaxing and FUN!…yes, FUN! The staff is equally as knowledgeable, passionate, welcoming, laid back! It’s so calming and refreshing to know I am well-taken care of and that I matter in this fast pace of “next” in the service industry. Thank you Dr. Hecklin for taking such GREAT care of me and my mouth!

ATTENTION! If you’re looking for a great dentist in Nashville TN, go see Dr. Shawn Schlessel! First off, let me begin by telling you about the nightmare I had before someone recommended going to Dr. Hecklin and Dr. Schlessel’s office. I had not been to the dentist in 5 years, so when I got a flyer in the mail for a $60 cleaning at different office in the neighborhood, I figured it was time to make an appointment. I went in for a cleaning an was told that I had 6 cavities that needed to be filled costing total of $1,539. I was shocked. Even though it had been quite some time since I visited the dentist office, I practice good oral hygiene and felt that they weren’t being completely truthful with their diagnosis. I am currently a graduate student with a limited budget, so I tried going to a local dental school for a cheaper second opinion. The student who saw me appeared to have no idea what she was doing. It took an hour to get my x-rays completed and she kept stabbing me mouth with the equipment throughout the process. After the painful examination was done, the student and her teacher told me I only had 2 cavities that needed to be filled, but I sure as hell wasn’t going back there to let them do the fillings. Finally, someone recommended I go see Dr. Schlessel and praise Jesus Hallelujah that they did! First off, the receptionist there was very sweet and helpful. We had to go back an forth a few times on the phone to get my X-rays sent over from the other office and she was always quick to call me back. She even sent me a link so that I could fill out my paperwork online before I arrived to my appointment which was convenient. Dr. Schlessel, who was super friendly and professional, looked over my previous X-rays and paperwork, then did a thorough examination. Guess what, he determined that I actually was CAVITY FREE!!! However, I do need to get my wisdom teeth taken out so he referred me to an oral surgeon whom he trusts. I also appreciated his patience and time spent answering any questions I had while I was there. Bottom line, Dr. Schlessel is a dentist you can TRUST. He isn’t trying to deceive you and convince you to go through with dental work you don’t actually need, unlike the other 2 places I visited. My experience at Dr. Hecklin Family and Cosmetic Dentistry was awesome and I plan on using them for my dental care as long as I’m living in Nashville.

I have been seeing Dr Hecklin since we moved to TN 18 years ago. You will not find a better dentist (and person) anywhere. I was a dental phobic person, but he was understanding and always took time with me, now I look forward to seeing him, and all the wonderful ladies who work there! He also has a wonderful new associate Dr. Sean Schlessel whom I have also seen and he is very cool too! I love these guys, they have worked wonders with my very challenging teeth!

I have been a patient for 20+ years; oral hygiene to restorative procedures; evident is great leadership by Dr. Hecklin; the entire staff is exemplary clinically and their systems are patient-centric; Steve has also built a referral network that is exceptional when needed; I have referred others whose experiences have been exceptional as well; Steve quickly demonstrates competence, compassion and is excellent communicating. This office has been dependably capable of turning experiences that many of us become anxious over into a collaborative discussion and an outcome that is what a patient seeks in every dimension: communication, compassion, outcome and follow-up. Simply exemplary.
