I’ve not been to the dentist since the pandemic but had a dental emergency. The safety protocols they’ve implemented at Suffolk Dental Group are top notch. This will be unsurprising to anyone whose been there before. Beyond the COVID protections, like so many other reviewers, I cannot say enough about how amazing Dr. Hsu and everyone who works there are. The care is so thorough and gentle. Everyone is so patient with people who have anxiety about dental care. Everyone is treated with such dignity. Dr. Hsu and his team are so engaged and curious, always learning and sharing such helpful information. They truly see patients as whole people. So appreciative!

All the staff at Suffolk Dental are friendly and well oriented. We have the feeling like home without any pressure. They take all the necessary procedures to make the clinic as a safe area during the COVID. I have been working in NY and NJ since 2015 and still keep Suffolk Dental in Boston as my choice.

Dr. Hsu and his staff are very knowledgeable, skilled, prompt, and friendly. They patiently and clearly answer questions and do not try to push any type of services and products on you, like my previous dentists (e.g. tooth whitening). The office itself is very clean and the equipment is new /state of the art. I’ve had bad experiences with other dentists in Boston being late, not doing a good job and requiring “fix it” visits, having rude & incompetent staff, or being unfriendly or unhelpful themselves. I’m so relieved to have found this place finally and will probably commute here for my cleanings even when we move away. Parking around the office (across from Boston Commons) is tough, but this is the best dental practice I’ve ever been to.

I’ve been with Suffolk Dental Group for nearly five years and have not ever considered going elsewhere. Dr Hsu and his staff deliver great, caring service: he wants to get to know you and is very attentive to your needs. I’ve probably done the whole gamut of dental work and can speak about all of them: – Fillings: Dr Hsu is meticulous and explains to you from the x-rays what needs to be done and why. – Root canal: Dr Hsu and the endodontist were a great team. The whole root canal process was painless (no throbbing after procedures, I didn’t take any painkillers); Dr Hsu without complaint or admonishment put back in the “spacer tooth” (while the crown was made) when I had accidentally popped it out flossing. Great service! I have not had any complaints with the root canal since – Invisalign: Took a little less than two years to do but that’s because Dr Hsu wasn’t happy with the results the first time round – he’s a perfectionist – now I have perfectly aligned teeth! They’re very knowledgeable and I came to him -after- a consultation with a regular (aka wire braces) adult orthodontist who insisted on pulling out two teeth to make space. Dr Hsu managed to get my teeth aligned without any teeth pulling – he listened to my concerns about not wanting any teeth pulled and conveyed that to Invisalign (who had also initially recommended pulling one tooth). Right now I’m looking at dental insurance that will allow me to still be his patient because I don’t want to go anywhere else! You can’t go wrong with Suffolk Dental!

The ultimate caring and educational dental practice I have ever been to. I have been a patient for at least six years. Even after moving out from Massachusetts and relocating to other states I return to this practice. Dr. Hsu is painless, thorough and thoughtful as is his entire staff. If you are searching for a place to have great dental care this is the place!

FEAR NO MORE….   After years of not going to the dentist because of fear I have found a wonderful dentist.  I went in office for a cleaning exam and xrays.  After my appointment I did get a treatment plan and it was explained to me in detail for the services I needed.  THere was no pressuring into doing any treatment that was unnecessary.  Dr Hsu and his staff are absolutely superb and very friendly.  They are simply the best.  The office is very professional and convenient and affordable……

Highly recommend this dental office and doctor Hsu! It has been about two years I go to this office for my dental treatment and I don’t regret a second or a penny I have spent there. This dental office is by far the best dental office I have experienced. Doctor Hsu is a very knowledgeable and a very ethical doctor. In my experience he never charge extra or recommend any unnecessary treatment. Also the result of treatments are always great. He has done filling and crown for me and all services and treatments have my highest satisfaction. He is very kind, attentive, friendly, professional and a great listener. He also gives you great suggestions about health and hygiene. in general all staff in this office are very caring and professional. They have a great dental cleaning team as well. I just wish Dr Hsu was my dentist since the beginning of time! and the same for his dental cleaning team! Highly recommended!

I was visiting Boston on a Saturday afternoon in Oct 2016 when I had a dental emergency. Using yelp, I tried to find a dentist that was still open. Suffolk Dental was only going to be open for another half an hour when I called them. The wonderful dentist, Dr. Hsu and staff stayed open and took care of me- my visit ended an hour and a half after they had closed. I highly recommend them and if I was in Boston, they would be my dental practice of choice. You cannot go wrong using them!!!!

I needed a second opinion for an old root canal that my other dentist thought has an infection and I called in last week. They were able to get me an appointment in a week (today) and I saw Dr. Hsu in the afternoon. Now i understand why fellow yelpers rave about this place. Besides being very nice and patient, Dr Hsu explained the difficulties of my situation to me (two root canals done a few years back, but now with not much tooth structure left, and I need invisilign to correct the front teeth crowding). For the first time after seeing many other dentists, Dr Hsu said I didn’t need to get my root canaled teeth pulled out (my regular dentist suggested and insisted so) to do the invisilign and explained why it might be better to leave them there as long as there’s no infection. Also for the first time, a dentist is saying something I always felt true “there’s no infection in the root canal”, since it hasn’t bothered me in the past 9 years, while my other dentists have claimed that there’s an infection based on the denser appearance of the bone from the X-ray. Moreover, after suggesting I do a temporary crown in order to get the braces done, he Recommended and Referred me to another dentist, the best orthodontist he knows, a professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, to double check the root canal for me. He made sure his assistant sent my x-rays to the orthodontist he referrred to and instructed me on things to prepare before seeing that dentist. It was a truly professional experience. I highly recommend Dr. Hsu.

When looking for a new dentist (I moved 2 years ago and have been putting it off until now) I really felt like it was suspicious to see so many 5 star reviews for a dentist. I read through them and decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you, this is the real deal. This place is super patient-focused and is all about making you feel comfortable. That’s a big deal especially in a place that so many people feel very stressed and uncomfortable. The staff is personable and helpful. The hygienist was very gentle during my xrays and the cleaning but my teeth still feel super clean. She put a little vaseline on my lips so they didnt get irritated by her gloves and they give you a little hot towel at the end too. I know those don’t seem like a big deal but the little touches really make you feel more comfortable. The hygienist did a great job answering my questions and giving me little tips about how to improve my dental health. Dr. Hsu came in to check on everything and was also very friendly and helpful. I love that they really explain what they’re doing and don’t make you feel rushed. I can’t recommend them enough.

Best experience that I have had with a dentist in a long time –Dr. Hsu took the time to answer my questions, he didn’t pressure me to perform unnecessary procedures, and most importantly he did an excellent job completing my filling. I am very impressed with his work, his office atmosphere, and the friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend him…

Typically I would say it’s difficult to rave about a trip to the dentist but Dr. Hsu and his staff make it quite easy. He has a great bed side manner and is incredibly educated. He takes the time to explain things so that you understand and alleviates any anxieties before you leave his office. His front desk staff and hygienists are equally as wonderful. I was recommended to Suffolk Dental by a coworker and honestly loved my experience! My hygienist Jalila was very thorough and Dr. Hsu addressed all of my concerns, giving not only advice for dental health but also advice to improve general health and wellbeing! I will definitely continue care here, and highly recommend the group!

I’ve been a patient at Suffolk Dental for over ten years now. Super convenient location right near the Park Street T. I also really appreciate the Saturday hours. When I worked outside the city and lived downtown, this was one of the only dentists I could find that had Saturday hours at all. Would highly recommend!

Professional and friendly dentist and staff. I’ve been seeing Dr. Hsu and his hygienists for a few years now and now my family (husband and 2 kids) get/will get dental care here as well. Almost forgot – convenient location (Park street T stop) and scheduling flexibility (Saturday appts) guarantee I’ll never look elsewhere.

This place is one of a kind! I’ve never been to a holistic dentist before or even knew that they existed! Dr. Hsu thinks about all things that can be impacting the oral microbiome in one’s life and addresses them. He helped me with my breathing, acid reflux, and insomnia. He has an MPH and gets the whole picture and treats each patient as an individual. Every experience there is a good one from the check-in to the cleaning. I also love my hygienist because she gives me very specific and actionable tips on how to brush, floss and when to drink water, and I use them every day!

I’ve only wrote yelp reviews for restaurants & bars here, but this place definitely deserves a good yelp review…scratch that, the BEST yelp review. I’m terrified of going to the dentists and get super nervous when I’m in a dental office but I had a dental emergency so I needed to be seen right away and they were able to squeeze me in for the same day. (I ended up having an infection where my wisdom tooth was growing in so I looked like a chipmunk and needed medical attention right away) When I got there, I was nervous but Ann, the practice manager, greeted me with a smile and explained to me what was going on and had me fill out new patient forms. I noticed it was pretty busy so I was grateful that the Dr. agreed to see me. I waited for a little while, which I didn’t mind about because of the fact they were seeing me with such short notice. When I was seen by Dr. Hsu, he was so gentle and so friendly, he made me feel at ease and not so nervous anymore. He prescribed me antibiotics and pain killers for the infection, and gave me referrals to oral surgeons to book an appointment. He explained everything to me in an easy manner so I can understand and also not freak out. I like this place and will definitely make it my go to dentist because everyone is so nice. Even if it seems hectic, they don’t rush you…they actually sit and talk to you and help you out with whatever’s bothering you. They seem so genuine, I’m happy I chose this place to go to for my dental emergency and will def. be coming back in the future!
