I had braces for 3 years when I was a teenager but then didn’t wear my retainers, like most people, so my teeth moved. Even though my teeth weren’t horrible, my front two teeth slowly started sticking out more and more to where when I smiled and closed my mouth, my teeth sometimes still stuck out! When I got engaged, I decided it was time to fix my buck. There are so many dentists out there and it’s hard to know who to trust. When I walked into Dr. Chuck Carlson’s office, I immediately felt welcomed and completely at home. His staff are friendly. The space is modern and just rad. He is so down to earth, and is a walking encyclopedia. I got my braces off in 8 months, just in time for my wedding and absolutely I loved my results. I would 110% recommend Dr. Carlson to any of my friends and family in a heart beat! Go check him out and see for yourself.

Dr. Carlson & his staff are very compassionate & professional. My daughter’s braces are complicated because she has a fake front tooth, from a skateboard accident. Her case is sensitive & again, complicated. Dr. Carlson exerts a lot of efforts to coordinate treatments for an implant & matching fake tooth along with her braces. Her results & outcomes are outstanding. Dr. Carlson has talent, creativity, and passion to treat his patients to have a great smile. Was referred here by my brother-in-law, who had his braces done by Dr. Carlson, and we’re both very happy to have found his practice. I’m one of the unlucky few that needed to get braces twice because I never wore my retainers, but if must get braces again, I’m happy to to it here. First of all, the practice is beautiful! Great location in HB, and from the minute you walk in, you are at ease. The staff, Tara and Kaylie, are very welcoming and friendly, and Dr Carlson has excellent bedside manner. I felt like they all listened and genuinely cared about my concerns, especially since this is the 2nd time I’m getting braces. My first visit was easy to schedule, they were flexible with my busy schedule and very accommodating. Dr. Carlson completed a detailed evaluation, and gave me different treatment options to fix the crowding of my lower teeth. Treatment thus far, has been easy and painless, and I’m confident I’ll be very happy with my new smile. Overall, I highly recommend Surf City Smiles!

Highly recommend this office! I was dreading taking my 10 year old son in for his ortho consultation, long story short I was so impressed that I ended up getting all three of my kids braces here. The office is beautiful and inviting. The staff is extremely accommodating. They were on schedule and didn’t make us wait. The doctors consultation was very thorough with photos and x rays. All of our questions were answered and I felt very comfortable, fully trusting their opinion and expertise. I’m very happy that I can get all of their appointments at the same time and make our visits even more time efficient. Financing was very flexible, easy-and fair. My three kids absolutely loved their experience and were all so excited to start the process.

Dr. Carlson and his team are amazing! The office is beautiful and everyone is so friendly and helpful. I never had braces when I was younger and was finally ready to straighten my teeth. My consultation was very easy to schedule and was very thorough. I was initially considering Invisalign but after my consultation, Dr. Carlson recommended clear braces for 18 months. Went in here for a consultation with Dr. Carlson for my daughters braces. He and his staff were very nice and walked us through all of the steps and answered the various questions we have. The office is really designed well and has a great look. I am happy to have found this orthodontist and look forward to my daughters new smile!

We LOVE Surf City smiles! Dr. Carlson and all the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and like you’ve known them forever. Dr. Carlson is upfront and honest with his treatment recommendations and the patients needs come first above all else. Two of my three are currently receiving treatment and the third isn’t far behind! My kids deal with high anxiety relating to any medical/dental treatments and Dr. Carlson and staff go above and beyond to put my kids at ease by talking them through the process of what to expect before, during and after treatment. Surf city smiles is amazing! If you are thinking about having your best smile, just go!!! They are wonderful- Dr Carlson is honest, helpful and has so much knowledge. He truly listens to your concerns and needs, and individually tailors your treatment plan to fit. Tara- she reminds you of why you to decided to take the step of improving your smile, and celebrates with you! Kaylie is supportive and available- to answer questions and work within your budget. They are a wonderful team- I cannot say enough good things. They literally make you feel like family!

I was blown away with Surf City Smiles from the moment I walked in the door with my daughter.  Kaylee was extremely welcoming and accommodating. This office was very clean and had a millennial feel.  Dr. Chuck was very professional and did not make us feel one bit rushed. Not to mention he was very thorough in explaining the process as well as expectations. The best part was it was not a hard sell.  After going to a couple consults with different doctors hands down he was by far the clear choice. Besides his staff being fabulous they use the most state of the art equipment that the other Orthodontist did not. This place will not disappoint. This friendly office even puts braces on adults…who knew????
