*THIS IS A NON-CLIENT REVIEW* Wow, this is the first time I’ve been to this medical building. Had to pick up a delivery and was pleased to see the actions taken by the building and staff in light of COVID-19. The elevators have a main dashboard allowing you to “call” a lift based on the floor number. The computer is an LED touch screen with hand sanitizers adjacent to it. When your loft is ready, you will hear the chime much like a regular elevator. Very cool! Hand sanitizer stations are located at the main entrance and every floor of the building just outside the elevators. The staff at Dr. Sakamoto’s office was friendly and attentive. I didn’t wait longer than a minute to be served. Sanitizer station was also available in the office by check in. Keeping clients healthy and safe is a team effort. WTG!

My boyfriend and I were impressed before we even walked into the office! Tim was so friendly and accommodating & helped us book back to back appointments since both of us avoided the dentist for a good 4+ years. Yikes! We got a friendly confirmation text couple days before that even told us to dress warm as the office can be cold for some. Dr. Ted Sakamoto started by taking my blood pressure which was abnormally high (hopefully just from the nerves). Nonetheless Tim advised I get a general physician since I can’t even remember the last time I went‍. Anyway, no other dentist has ever done that nor taken full mouth x-rays on me. While Dr. Sakamoto looked at the X-rays Tim educated me on dental disease, different causes, and prevention. He’s so knowledgeable too! I’ve never had a dentist explain to me what he saw going on in my mouth. The dental cleaning was painless, as I had been told it would be. After I got to see before and after pictures which was the cherry on top. Their office is newly renovated and clean. There’s no better place to go to the dentist!

I’ve been going to Dr. Ted for dental care ever since I was about 7 years old. Back then, it was a family business over on King St. His dad and him were both practicing dentists and his mom was the secretary. As a kid, I felt welcomed every time I went there with that sense of family. I remember reading Highlight for Kids magazines and children’s books like the Berenstain Bears in the waiting room. After his dad retired, Dr. Ted moved to the current location. It was really neat to see the use of updated technology incorporated into his practice. Everything is all computerized, even local anesthesia administration (which is a lot less painful now yay!). I appreciate the time Dr. Ted takes with patient education, making sure you understand what’s going on with your teeth after he examines it. He utilizes a lot of teaching aids, like models of teeth and pictures on iPads. And he never hesitates to answer the many many questions I have. Haha His assistant is also very helpful and organized. He clearly explains your insurance benefits and options. He also takes the time to answer any questions/concerns I have, and his input supplements whatever info Dr. Ted explained during patient teaching.

Ted is a very knowledgeable and honest Dentist.  I would trust him with any dental work.  I’ve gone to him before on visits to Hawaii, and have been very pleased with the results.  His office has state of the art equipment and he takes great care in working with his patients.  He is very gentle and works great with kids too.
