I couldn’t ask for a more relaxed and friendly experience. Hadn’t gone to the dentist in years and I chose this office randomly when I first moved to Nashville for my wisdom teeth removal and now I stuck around because of how friendly and personalized my visits are. Missi is the best and all staff do their best to really get to know their patients. Go here!

Barbara and Missy are always a joy to deal with and have always provided a stress-free experience. The dentists are quick and efficient. Barbara will take a look at what your insurance allows and help you come up with a game plan that works best for you depending on what you are comfortable with spending and having done. They have also been really good at staying COVID-safe throughout the pandemic. Thanks for making my mouth healthy again!

Dr. O’Neill is the best! After taking a new job, I did not have dental insurance. I was so nervous about having any dental work done because I knew I would have to pay out of pocket for everything. Dr. O’Neill offers his own Benefits Plan for people without insurance…my cleanings and x-rays are covered in his plan, and I also get a discount on other procedures, which ends up being very similar to actually having dental insurance. What a relief! He is very knowledgeable, easy-going, and he truly cares about his patients. What a testament to his faith! His staff is always friendly and very helpful. I never dread going to see the dentist.

These are the best group of people to work with in Nashville. I had a massive medical emergency my first visit with them and they responded faster than I could have imagined and the ambulance was there in under five minutes. Upon my return visit they were already at the door waiting for me, as they are for all of their patients. They are the best. If you considered using them and didn’t, you made a mistake. Edit- I returned again to have some fillings and crowns done. For anyone that has not done this before, it’s a long process. The amount of equipment and different techniques they know to make everything easy is insane

Great experience at this dental office. I am so happy to have found my new dentist since moving to Nashville this year! Dr. O’Neill is kind, professional, & has a beautiful office with a friendly staff. This is the first time I have gotten a shot that I couldn’t feel!! No pain at all, plus they gave me a blanket and headphones during my treatment….wait! is this a spa?! I give Dr. O’neill & his office my highest recommendation!!

Dr. O’Neill and his staff do quality work. Very impressed with how well they communicated my different treatment options- not every dentist is this transparent. The staff was helpful in setting up appointments- could not have been easier. Would definitely recommend Dr. O’Neill and his team to others.

Just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone in Tennessee Family Dental. From the moment I walked in they took great care of me start to finish. They do their best to make it as pain free as it possibly can. Had my tooth extracted took about 5 mins. Dr. O’Neil said all done thought he was joking didn’t feel much and it happened so fast! Tennessee Family Dental has done a lot of work with my teeth and have taken Very good care of me every time. Wouldn’t go anywhere else… HIGHLY RECOMMEND

No one really ENJOYS going to the dentist, but I actually love this place and the people who work there. Everyone here treats you like you are family and remembers your name. They make the necessary trip to the dentist quick and easy, and they listen to any concerns you have. They also take plenty of covid precautions and process insurance quickly and correctly. What more could you ask??

I am a new patient at Tennessee Family Dental and went in for my typical teeth cleaning. After taking x-rays of my teeth it was revealed that I needed a root canal (eeek!) from a recent fall that had occurred. After scheduling my root canal, I came back in ready for Dr. O’Neill to do what he needed to do. I was very impressed first with his ethical approach and double checking that I did in fact need a root canal. After confirming the need, Dr. O’Neill did the root canal and it was not bad at all! He was careful and precise and double checked all that he did. I highly recommend this office and Dr. O’Neill. He knows what he is doing and also seeks the best for the patient. I have received the best patient care by Dr. O’Neill and his staff! They care deeply and it shows. This practice is ethical and efficient!

This place is great! I took my child here and we had a very positive experience. No tears, which is a first. Dr. O’Neill and his staff are very friendly and very good at what they do. AND they are open on Saturdays!!! What? No dentist I’ve ever heard of is open on the weekends…they all play golf haha

I live in Chicago and my son is a student at Belmont University. Unfortunately he was in an accident on a Friday evening that left him with his two front teeth broken off! Needless to say, he was faced with finding a dentist on a Saturday to do an emergency root canal and crown fittings. Not an easy task. Tennessee Family Dental was recommended to us and they made time to see him that day!! Karen, from the front desk, was so good to me as I was trying to coordinate my son’s needed care between their office, the insurance company and our family dentist in Chicago. She took care of everything – which was so comforting as I couldn’t be there with my son! The staff was great with my son. He left the office without pain and a set of teeth 🙂

They are so kind and hospitable! Definitely the best dentist around. They go out of their way every time to make sure I’m comfortable and satisfied. Dr. O’Neil always takes the time to ask about what’s going on in my life. He truly cares about all of his patients. I got a filling today and I always hate to hear the drilling. They gave me a blanket when I mentioned it was cold in the office and let me use fancy headphones to listen to music from my phone to distract me from all the drilling

My visit was not what I expected. The staff & dentist LISTENED to me. It had been a long time since my last dental visit & I sensed no judgement or criticism. They addressed my immediate reason for coming to see them. I felt no pressure to continue seeing them after my tooth is removed & the usual follow-up. They did point out some other concerns & WE will discuss later what it could look like to incorporate improvements in my dental care in my hectic, crazy life. I feel respected & accepted as a person, who is less than perfect, but wants to do better. This is way different from my past experience.

This is the most thorough dentist office that I have ever been to. When asking questions about what was being done, the dental hygienist, Jenna, explained everything in detail. This office was very welcoming, kind, and relaxing. By far the best dental experience i have ever had. I highly recommend them!!

Today I visited the Green Hills office of Tennessee Family Dental for the first time and I don’t think I’ve ever had a more pleasant dental experience in my entire life. I was greeted immediately by two very friendly and welcoming staff members. I knew it would be a different dental experience when I was asked if I preferred a warm neck wrap or warm blanket while in the chair! All Covid protocols were being followed. Hygienist Missy was super. Explaining every step and consistently making sure I was comfortable. I enjoyed the fact that we were in a corner space and I had floor to ceiling windows to gaze through. I highly recommend this dental practice.

After moving to Nashville from out of state, I needed to find a new dentist. Dr. O’Neil and Tennessee Family Dental were recommended by a few friends. I couldn’t have been more pleased by Dr. O’Neil and his staff’s work. They are kind, take the time to explain what is being done and work efficiently and with care. I’d highly recommend Tennessee Family Dental to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I have been a patient of Dr. O’Neil since he took over the practice from my former dentists Dr. Dale Pettinger, and Dr. William Matthews, so I have been going to the same office for more years than I can remember, and over the years I have come to expect fabulous care and excellent work. Dr. O’Neil and his staff have met my expectations perfectly. My dental care is always explained to me in a way that I understand what work is being performed, why it is needed, and what it will cost. Dr. O’Neil is friendly and personable, and his staff is always a pleasure. I have had three crowns and the work is excellent. The temporary crowns are great, I don’t have to worry about them coming off before the permanent crowns are in, the care is gentle and painless, and the office looks better than it has in years. I would highly recommend Dr. O’Neil to anyone looking for a great dentist.

I am not a fan of dentists or their “trade” but I have to say that has changed now that I go to Tennessee Family Dental. They are a great team of professionals that do everything in their power to make a patient comfortable no matter what the procedure. Everything is thoroughly explained and they make sure you understand it all. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Just like everyone else, I dread going to the dentist. In fact, before I went in to this place a few weeks ago for a consult, it had been 15 years. Needless to say, my teeth needed some attention. Deep cleaning, a couple of fillings, and a recommendation to pull the old wisdoms. Too this wimp= HELL! But I knew I had to suck it up and get it done or it was all gonna get worse. I puffed up my chest, brushed my teeth extra good (like it matters at this point) and walked into the lions den to get chewed up. First was the deep cleaning. I remembered cleanings when I was younger. The scraping (the SOUND!!) and the occasional needle. I think it was the needle I always feared the most. It really hurts. But I was first given this grape-ish flavored goop on a Q-Tip and it was rubbed on the old sensitive gums. Here it comes…the needle…and then it never came. I mean, I was needled alright. But I felt NOTHING! Not even pressure. What was I afraid of?!? Once I learned that all I had to do was sit there and make jokes with the staff and trust they wouldn’t lemme bite my cheek and tongue, it was smooth sailing. Drilling for cavities, no prob. Took about 2.5 hrs for all the numbing to wear off. But what a trade off. A no-pain dentist? Yes please. I asked why they had a pretty mediocre YELP rating and it seems that a lot of the staff is new and not the culprits of the bad reviews. I go back in two weeks for more work and I can honestly say, I ain’t scared anymore.

Incredibly thankful to Barbara (office manager/insurance) for the time she took to work with me in scheduling my son for a consult with Dr. O’Neill. Went above and beyond to work around my son’s schedule and the limited time frame we had. She was mindful with what our insurance would cover and helped navigate the waters of a treatment plan that worked in our budget. Truly a blessing. Dr. O’Neill helped up my son at ease (who has dental anxiety) while also respecting him and his feelings regarding treatment. I like how he approached the treatment plan as “partners in oral health” and not subserviently. Humble, confident and competent doctor indeed!
