I hate dentists but let me tell you if you go to the dental spot as soon you come in and see the chairs where you are going to get your mouth fix, the floor shining and everything so clean that relax me a lot and when Doctor Nick and his assistant start explaining me the procedure the last thing i realize i was paying and ready to go home and out of pain and no pain at all!!!! So i will keep going to the Dental Spot. Thank you guys and keep up the good work.

Finding a dentist in a new city sucks, but sometimes you get lucky. So thankful I found this office after moving to LA. I barely had to wait, the staff were all so cool and the dentist spent almost 30 minutes talking to me about my teeth and explaining my options to me. I didn’t feel like they tried pushing anything on me and on top of that- the hygienist gave me one of the most thorough cleanings I’d ever had and took the time to explain I HAD BEEN FLOSSING INCORRECTLY MY WHOLE LIFE… when I did remember to floss, that is. Bonus points: SO easy to park and surrounded by great food. Overall 10/10, thanks Dr. Matthews!

My husband was afraid to see a Dentist until we discovered Dr. Nick Mathews and his amazing team. I had a single visit crown done in about an hours time, I even got to watch the crown being made right in front of my own eyes super techie…. The office is like a spa, our entire family feels completely at ease with their friendly staff. Its a super high-tech facility with flat screen TVs along with 3D dimensional pictures of your teeth while you recline in comfort the team will answer all your questions. My 5 year old and 10 year old look forward to seeing Dr. Nick and his friendly team and by the way all still cavity FREE!….. Thank you Dr. Mathews for your gentle touch, one of the best referrals I have ever received. I’ll keep on referring you based on all the wonderful feedback I get from family, coworkers and friends whom have visited you as well over the last 5 years. .

I am the biggest chicken when it comes to going to the dentist and after being treated by The Dental Spot, I can actually say that dentist appointments are something I look forward too. I have had plenty of work done and it has been done with such care and thoroughness that I have learned a lot about taking care of my teeth along the way. The work is superb but the atmosphere and staff that work there are the BEST!! The doctors and staff are the biggest reason I make my doctor appointments. They are professional and take the time to explain and answer any and all questions you may have. Some may find it hard to believe this business has so many 5 star ratings, but once you walk in, you understand why. The entire staff is extremely professional and friendly. The office is welcoming and comfortable and you don’t have that stinky ‘dental office’ smell that makes you even more sick to your stomach waiting for the dentist. Both doctors are meticulous and thorough, explaining every step and action they take. They take the time to tell you what to expect when you go home and follow up to make sure you are okay.
I’ve referred a handful of people to them already and I continue to hear “I love our dentist!” I recommend The Dental Spot to anyone and everyone needing dental work.

My wife and I met the Matthews’ when we were neighbors. After listening to him talk about equipment in his office I’d never even heard of before and picking up on his and her level of excitement, yes excitement about what they were doing, I had to go give them a try. That turned out to be the best decision I have ever made regarding quality people and dentistry. I have a crown done by him and one done by her. His is 8 years old approx. and hers is 5 months old. I have to remember which teeth they did because I cannot hardly detect either crown by feel or appearance. They both exude a subtle confidence that led to the most relaxing dental experiences I’ve had, and I’ve had PLENTY! We moved to Fallbrook and weren’t happy with our ‘new” dentist mostly because we were spoiled by the quality of work, chair side manner, organization, and sanitation of The Dental spot. Knowing what was attainable and then not receiving it here, when some large dental issues occurred I decided driving for hours back to the Dental Spot was going to be necessary. Thank goodness! The results have exceeded expectations every time! Fast forward to last Wednesday 9/2/2020. My wife had a 25 year old crown pop off during the COVID pandemic of course. The Matthews’ are out of the office taking care of their young family as they should be. They have people covering for them in the office. Dr. Christine offered to come in especially for my wife but she needs more work than just this so I couldn’t ask or expect her to do this several times for us in the future. She told me the people covering were colleagues they’d been trained by or trained with or whatever. My wife is a bit of a dental phobia person. As suggested, Dr Campbell was every bit the quality person and dentist as are the Matthews. I will not hesitate to go to the other dentist helping either. I am sure she will be the same quality as we are now accustomed to in their office. Have NO concern about COVID protection either. That office was sanitary before the virus, now its waaaay beyond that even. No worries! Don’t be fooled. Just because someone has the equipment (Cerac, etc.), doesn’t mean they know how to use it. These people are technical artists in my opinion not to mention perfectionists and sweethearts. We love you guys, Jesse and Jodi

I met Dr. Matthews and his assistant Stephanie back in 2011 when they came to my job, an elementary school, to give a presentation to my colleagues and I during lunch time. They even catered lunch, Daphne’s Greek. Dr. Matthews was very professional and was quite personable. He was thorough and answered the many questions my colleagues and I had. I’ve had been experiences with dentists (the bad dental work as well as shady business practices), so I was kind of skeptical. After the presentation/informational, we had the option of setting up an appointment for a free consultation. When I arrived to my appointment, I was amazed how modern and clean it was. There is a television in each room with headphones for you to watch while you are having your dental work done. The TV monitors also used to view real time images of your teeth/mouth. Dr. Matthews’ office is definitely state of the art! Dr. Matthews explains everything he is doing. He makes the dreadful dental experience a breeze. He and his assistants do a wonderful job. Since coming to him in 2011, I have had cleanings, root canal, and cavities filled. And thankfully, I haven’t had to come back to have the same work done on the same tooth because of improper dental work done. I forgot to mention, his wife, the other Dr. Matthews is just as great and professional as he is. The lady (sorry I forgot her name) that solely does the cleanings, does a magnificent job. I’ve never been to the dentist where they give you a low key neck massage to check your thyroid. I’ve referred 2 people here and they have had the same great experience as I.

Dr Mathews is simply the best Dentist hands down. He is a young dentist with a fresh approach of how to do things which is great. His staff is also very knowledgeable and makes you feel at easy throughout your visit. The office is state of the art with only the latest and greatest technology available. Each room has its own TV, remote, headphone AND X-Ray machine so there is no need to move, just simply lay back with your apron on, don’t move and get instant snapshots of your teeth. Dr Mathews links the TV in front of you so both of you can review the X-Ray images together and thoroughly explains what his plan is for your teeth. Once he’s done with that, he then examines you teeth wearing Peppermint flavored gloves!! LOL How cool is that right?!?!? The Hygienist here is also young and very thorough, leaves my smile sparkly clean every time. I would definitely recommend Dr Mathews and his staff to anyone looking for a great Dentist.

Me Before Dr. Mathews: I hate the DENTIST! Who doesn’t? Me after my 1st visit: That wasn’t so bad, I guess I will go back for my root canal. They seem legit. Me after part 1 of my root canal: I love these people! When can I come back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, I was referred to The Dental Spot by a co-worker. She only had great things to say. I was looking for a new place…so I decided to try it out. What the hooo! The first visit consisted of my 2 kids (8, 12) and myself. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with the friendliest medical staff ever. I was impressed. There is a huge mounted flat screen TV. YAY! After filling out paper work we were shown to our rooms (very hotel like). There are flat screen TVs in front of you, a remote, and really nice noise blocking head phones! YES! I measure how well a dentist is by the times my 8 year old sheds tears. Yes, he will cry when getting X-rays. He did not cry at all. A+++ 2nd visit: The most painless dental visit of my 33 years on planet EARTH! The anesthesia was amazing. I did not feel one thing during this root canal. I couldn’t believe it. In the other room, my son was having a many break down, as usual. What do you know… Dr. Christine Mathews offers him a “homemade” cookie and the bribe works. “WINNING” After my procedure was done, I was offered a cookie and so was my daughter, who was patiently waiting. Both Doctors are amazing. I really can’t write all the amazing things that went on. If you need a dentist, this is the place for you!!!!!!!!!!

Dr Matthews is the only dentist that I haven’t absolutely dreaded going to. I’m a big baby when it comes to dental work (especially needles), but I’m actually able to relax when I go in to get dental work done. The Dental Spot seems to have all of the latest technology. Normally, I wouldn’t care much about stuff like that, but in this case it means that my visits are as comfortable and painless as possible. The visits go beyond the standard doctor/patient “small talk” dynamic; I actually enjoy talking to him before and after appointments. I’m an east coast transplant, and the first dentist I visited out here (Fred E Stuart, DDS, see my review) definitely left something to be desired. Rarely do I find myself recommending things like dentists offices to friends, but I’ve done that on more than one occasion with The Dental Spot. If you’re new to the area (or your current dentist just sucks) do yourself a favor and make an appointment here.

With state-of-the-art equipment and techniques it was different getting my cleaning and work done at The Dental Spot. So happy to leave this review. Then, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I met Dr. Matthews’ better half, who is also a dentist. She fixed my chipped front teeth and she’s even better than her husband, which I didn’t think was possible, but her level to detail with cosmetic dentistry for front teeth is outstanding. I went to The Dental Spot to get a lot of work done. I had neglected my teeth and so had my old dentist as it turns out. In my initial meeting with Dr. Matthews I sensed a very up front gentleman. He was not pushy or looking to make the most money off me he could by giving me any unnecessary procedures. He just laid out all of my options for taking care of my teeth. And he discussed how to handle the insurance side of things that would be best for my pocketbook. The next time I went in he was very clear about what he had to do and how it would be done in simple layman’s terms that I could easily understand. When I had some problems breathing at first, because of a device he used, he quickly removed the device and said, “Okay, let’s use something a bit more old school”. Once the procedure started again I was able to breathe more easily and get back to watching the retro 50’s Godzilla movie on their digital TV (complete with stereo headphones!) I will be going go back three more times to complete all the work, but believe of not, I am actually looking forward to getting the work done because it was such a pain free pleasant environment. This is dental office is far and away the best I have ever been to! I highly recommend Dr Matthews.

I have been in the office a few times already since unfortunately I came to them needing a large amount of dental work. The office staff has been very professional, kind, and accommodating when making appointments with me and also when I arrive in the office for my appointment. I have had the opportunity to work with both Dr. Nick Matthews and also Dr. Christine Matthews. Both are very professional, patient, competent in their skills and take the time to show and explain to me what their dental plan is and what they will be working on. Of course a trip to the dentist is never “fun” however they make sure you are comfortable throughout the appointment. (not to mention those amazing comfy chairs they have to lay in, oh and the TV’s!) also I know I am getting excellent quality work. At the end of the appointment they go over what was done and show you pictures of your teeth while explaining all this to you, which I think is pretty cool! Overall, I completely trust both dentists with my dental care, which says a lot because I’ve had bad experiences in the past with other dentists. Honestly, if you want the highest quality dental work in a beautiful, clean office with genuinely nice people then this is your place! !

The Dental Spot should be THEEE one and only spot you go to for all things teeth related. I’ve been coming here for years and I wouldn’t dare to go anywhere else. Cavities, crowns, wisdom tooth extraction, teeth cleanings, you name it – they’ve take care of it for me. And yes, I still have teeth. Call me crazy but, I look forward to my Dental Spot appointments. TEETH CLEANINGS are my jam ! You brush, brush, brush then floss but there’s only so far you can reach. Leave it to The Dental Spot to get into every nook and cranny you can’t . You’ll walk out not wanting to eat because your mouth has never felt so fresh and so clean. I’m not afraid to admit that I’ve had a few crowns placed in my mouth, ask me to open wide and I’m sure you won’t be able to tell which of teeth are false and which ones I’ve had since they were replaced by my baby teeth. That’s how amazing both Dr. Nick and Christine are. Not only do they have the top of the line equipment, but they’re very good at what they do. Let me not forget about my wisdom tooth extraction, Dr. Christine Matthews removed my top wisdom tooth faster than you can say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Everything about THE DENTAL SPOT is wonderful. I walked in feeling nervous about my first dental appointment in AGES, and was immediately put at ease. The location is lovely, and the workers were always very friendly. The dental hygienist got my teeth cleaner than any hygienist ever has- and they were very careful about not going too rough. Dr. Matthews was wonderful- he explained the major cavity I had between my two front teeth, and the problem areas that could grow into a cavity. He fit me in the very next week to take care of my problem cavity, and now my front teeth look, and more importantly, feel healthy. Will definitely be returning to Dr. Matthews. The Dental Spot really made me feel well-cared for, and the work they do is top notch.

Loved the personalized touch. Very hands on care. This is how a dental visit should be. Needed relatively major work done, all of my options were discussed with pricing. Nothing was forced on me. It was great of Dr. Matthews to explain why he was doing what he was and even took the time to show me photos of the procedure. Before and after. It’s nice to see and understand why a procedure is needed. Had a couple other visits here this time for some “major” work that I have been putting off. I had to have a few crowns done. Dr. Matthews was great in getting me in, giving me an accurate estimate of associated costs and doing the work properly. I love that he can get me in and build a crown in the same day. I’ve had friends at other places that need multiple visits with their dentist to get a crown done. Dr. Matthews has a crown machine in his office that is capable of scanning your tooth, and recreating the part that needs replaced. It may cost a little more to get this porcelain (?) crown done over other materials but the ease of only being numbed once and walking out complete is certainly worth it. I don’t think you can have a pleasant experience at a dentist by nature but this is as close as it gets. He photographs everything and explains and shows what work is needed and why. He is quick but extremely effective in the work he performs and there was zero pain. I’ve never had a dentist in 35 years not cause any pain until now. His staff does a great job in assisting and making me as comfortable as possible. So glad a friend referred me to him while I was visiting. No way anyone else will touch my mouth again.

I have been going to the dentist since i face planted on concrete as a kid, so I know a thing or two about dentists. Going to the Dental Spot is like going to a spa for your teeth. The staff is all very personable and professional, the equipment is all state of the art, AND you can watch TV while they are working on your teeth. I can honestly say that I have never had a great dentist until I started going to the Dental Spot. I refer all my friends and family to Dr. Matthews (Mr. & Mrs) and the staff. So far I’ve been very impressed with the service I’ve received from The Dental Spot. I was a little bit cynical at first, because Dr Matthews sounded somewhat like a nagging car salesman, pitching a plan to basically rebuild my mouth from the ground up. But then he showed me high resolution digital pictures of the inside of my mouth on a TV screen hovering right in front of me and I was able to clearly see for myself the mistakes that my previous dentist had made while attempting to repair cavities. My biggest concern was the cost, of course, but he is actually very up front with his cost plans, which I respect a lot, and his pricing is actually very reasonable considering that he is using the latest materials and procedures (and yes, I admit that it helps that I have good dental insurance as well). Even so, the cost to fix all of my cavities was noticeably less expensive than the cost of the original work done by my previous dentist, who used outdated materials and painful procedures. And the most important part: now all of my teeth look and feel great!! The service is quick and painless, and the facilities and equipment are indeed state-of-the-art as described in other reviews. They are also very punctual with their appointment times so far, which is another thing that I greatly respect about them (i don’t think I’ve had to wait in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes on any of my visits thus far). I’ll be sure to update this post if my opinion of them changes over my next few visits, but so far I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a new dentist in the area.

I would definitely recommend this dentist office to anyone who is looking for a dentist. Dr. Matthews was focused on conserving my teeth rather than jumping to a procedure, such as getting a crown, that would eliminate most of my tooth when there’s still a chance to save and conserve it. Dr. Matthews will explain and show you what’s going on in your mouth, and the equipment the office uses is superb. I finally found my dentist.

This is the best dental spot I’ve ever been to! It smells nice, it’s super clean, and the entire staff is super friendly. Both doctors are very personable and welcoming. I’ve had my cleanings done here, my fillings and my whitening. My teeth look and feel great!! These are the only doctors I look forward to visiting. If you’re looking for a dentist, you should check this place out. The reviews might make it seem expensive because it’s new and nice but don’t let that deceive you! The prices are all reasonable and competitive — they’ll take great care of you.

I really enjoyed my experience. Dr. Matthews explained my tooth sensitivity by showing me real-time images of my teeth and how they interact with my sinuses which was kind of crazy. He didn’t try to up-sell me on a bunch of dental work and was honest about what I could do/when I should do it and how much it cost. I’ve never had a Dentist stay in the room with me so long to go over what I need. Other highlights: Clean/Bright, Hygienist is really thorough, they don’t keep you waiting and there’s great parking.
