I was referred to the smile center by my friend many years ago. Initially, I had my own dentist for over 10 years, so I only took my children to see Dr Frey. Dr Frey’s warm and caring demeanor was welcomed and appreciated. Within a year, I switched dentists. Now, my husband and ALL 3 of our children see Dr Frey at The Smile Center. Sharetta and Rebecca are wonderful dental hygienists. Theresa helps answer all of my questions about insurance coverage. Also, my children didn’t have to go to a separate orthodontist as Dr Frey is also certified in orthodontics.

Dr. Parr and everyone at the Smile Center were amazing! Long story short, I had some heart arrhythmia happen one night and ended up passing out, hitting my face on the counter and breaking my front 3 teeth. I went to my local dentist in Suffolk and he recommended The Smile Center for crowns. I called them after my appointment and not only did they get me in right away but fixed everything the same day! I couldn’t believe it. They were wonderful. Dr. Parr fixed me up good as new, I have my teeth again!

We are a big family with six kids. Yes Dr Frey is a great dentist but she also employs and manages a great team. We are able to communicate via phone and email to confirm, adjust and reschedule appointments. They work tirelessly to hold insurance to their responsibilities regarding billing. STOP!! Look no further for dental/ortho care. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Smile Center. The office staff (Theresa, Lauren, and Crystal) are so warm and friendly from beginning to end. I LOVE Dr. Frey and her team (Megan and Mallory) they treat you with patience and gentle care, but most of all, they definitely guarantee their work. They have a lovely view of the outside in their treatment room and if you don’t want to look outside, you can look at HGTV while they attend to your oral needs. I have been going to The Smile Center for over a year and it’s not only for the treatment of my oral health, but also for the warm and loving reception I get every time I walk through the door. When you’re there, you don’t want to leave. They treat you better than family do!!

The staff and Dr. Frey and Dr. Parr will treat you like family! Your questions will be answered in a timely manner and you even get a copy of your treatment plan! They are very transparent as well as very detailed about what you need to have done and how much it will cost. My family and I have all been pleased with the cleanings and fillings we have had done! They also have state of the art equipment and are up to date on procedures.

Short wait time, clean restrooms, experienced, friendly, respectful and attentive- and I’ve been helped by both doctors. They are priced fairly for services rendered. Call them to find out about their package … I forgot the name of it, but for people without dental insurance this package is a bargain! It gives 2 cleanings, the x-rays and I forget the rest. Also, they offer the Dental Care Credit Card which makes it a nice monthly payment plan if you so choose.

I have been going to The Smile Center for the past five years. When I first started going to them I found them through my insurance. After I did not have it any more I signed up for their Smiles for Life program. This offers two cleanings a year and x-rays. It was the perfect program for me because I have not needed to get any procedures done. I pay for a year ahead of time and get a month free.Throughout the time I have been going to The Smile Center Sharetta has cleaned my teeth. She is the type of person that lights up a room when she walks in. I especially love how she always remembers the things going on in my life. Doctor Parr is my Orthodontist, and is just as pleasant. Anyone that you meet in that office is willing and able to help you have a pleasant visit. They have warm drinks like coffee and tea, candy, and flowers for their customers to take, as well. I always look forward to The Smile Center experience when I get my teeth cleaning. <3

I came in for a tooth extraction (my current dentist does not perform them) and left out feeling like I had been to a family member’s home. I was not in the market for looking for a new dentist, but unexpectedly I think I found her in Dr. Frey. My first impression experience was top-notch. I honestly don’t think it could be matched. I encourage you to just have your teeth cleaned. Your experience will change your notion on what you thought dentistry should be like.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! I’m extremely terrified of the Dentist.. I have had the worst experiences when it come to dentist… to them shaming me for be scared to still operating even though I wasn’t numb yet… Not with THE SMILE CENTER!! they have changed my life!! Thank You Anna (the best suction person EVER!!!) Jessica and Christy are Very Helpful up front! And last but not least Dr.Frey she is sooo caring I never meet someone so understanding… I had A LOT of things done. If I could describe The Smile Center in one word it would be PHENOMENAL!! From the front desk to the dental chair, you’ll receive the best service any business can provide. The facility is superbly clean and the atmosphere and environment is very comfortable and welcoming. Dr. Parr knows his stuff, to say the least, and is incredibly friendly, patient, and caring. The rest of the staff also have the most friendly and professional personalities I’ve ever seen. The tools and techniques they use are advanced and top notch. I recently had a cleaning and a consultation for an implant. Rebecca did my cleaning and did an absolutely amazing job which I could not have asked for better. Susan was the other hygienist who did my crown and also did an amazing job and made me feel very comfortable and calm as I was visibly a bit nervous. Lauren helped me with my consultation for my crown/implant and made it an easy and stress free experience for me as well. Overall, I give them 5/5 stars and would give 10 stars if I could!

the entire place. from the moment you walk in to the minute you leave. Everybody that works there are always smiling (no,pun) laughing, and they treat you like family. I was and still am afraid of a dentist and work, BUT with their smaller lights, over head tv, and how gentle they are, it makes my experience easier. This place is outstanding! it’s like going to a family member’s house to get your teeth checked. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. I have seen both dentists for a checkup. The only difference is gender. I’ve been going to this practice for a little over six years. I used to commute from Northern Virginia when I was working as contractor. I equate my experience to a visit to Chick-fil-A. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I would not change a thing!

I have been going to the smile center since I was a little kid. I moved away from the area and tried a few other places…. Big mistake and I came running back to the smile center!!! My first consultation back in almost 15 years and all of my worries and concerns were validated and understood. All of the staff members treat you like family and genuinely care from the second you walk in until the second you leave. I had some staff members remember me from over 15 years ago! They are still asking about how my family members are doing from when I was a kid. I HAD terrible dental anxiety due to another experience at a different dentist… and I have overcome my fear since returning here! I do not feel like I am ever being judged when getting my teeth cleaned or any type of procedure. I have had cleanings (Megan is my hygienist and she is great!!), a crown, and multiple fillings and they have all turned out great! I remember my first day retuning back here almost a year ago and I was telling everyone about how I enjoy going to the dentist now. And I was so happy to see they still give out a flower on your way out….I always look forward to getting one! This will be my dentist for life!

I always expect something wonderful to happen everyday of my life; with the exception of ALL THINGS DENTAL… A few weeks ago I finally gathered up a nerve to reach out to THE Smile Center. I sent the email and thought nothing more of it. I received a follow up call the very next business day from Janine. She scheduled me and sent my new patient paperwork via email… a few days passed and she followed up to make sure I received the paperwork and answered any questions in anticipation of my appointment. She even offered to resend the paperwork so I wouldn’t have to go searching through my emails (WOW). Today I went to my appointment and from the moment I walked in, it was like I was THE ONLY PATIENT in the office. The attention, care and concern extended was remarkable I have EXTREME DENTAL ANXIETY and within 5-10 min, no lie I didn’t even remember I was in the dentist Every single person was personable, genuine and intentional about their service level. It was like being at a spa with a few great girlfriends. Dr. Frye thoroughly explained my treatment options Theresa answered all my follow up questions and was even able to get me scheduled for a cleaning today too. I mean they left no stone unturned and I was completely blown away. Sharetta the dental hygienist referred to them as “FANTASY DENTAL ISLAND” and I couldn’t agree more … seriously I have legit been smiling since I left…. Best experience ever and just as I was walking out Theresa was like hey take some flowers on your way out… WOW! WOW! WOW! I’m telling everybody I know GET HERE!!!! Perfect location for me. Dr. Parr, and the staff are wonderful! His mannerism is exceptional! Warm, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Detailed explanation of what your procedure will entail. I am soo grateful that I was able to be seen at an urgent and last minute situation. My implant procedure is almost at it’s completion, but with my temporary, I’ve taken advantage of EVERY opportunity to smile!!! I had my first visit to the dentist in years yesterday. I HATE the dentist. I have memories of pain and drills and sounds that keep me up at night lol… But, the fear of neglect and of course, being toothless drove me to make an appointment. haha! I chose The Smile Center because of the other reviews I read online, their use of sedation dentistry (lol) and the friendly faces on the website. I also loved the user friendly aspect and patient portal section of their website. The office is very clean and inviting and I was suprised to find that it smelled soooo good. Not exactly what I thought I would find walking into a dentist office. I loved the windows in each room and the televisions above each chair. Some people may not like to see the doctor’s point of view but I thought it was pretty interesting. Clearly it’s been way too long since I was at the dentist, but I have never seen anything like that before. I’m sure I will still have some anxiety once the work gets started on my next visit in a month, but I feel I made the best decision coming to The Smile Center. I honestly do feel better already, which is saying a lot! Everyone is super friendly and clearly loves working there. That means so much. After the work is done, I will be getting my teeth whitened, which I am very excited about. I want sparkling teeth like everyone at The Smile Center!

I don’t ever leave reviews for places, however I do feel that the team at The Smile Center is worth it. I have been to numerous dentists in the past and never had good experience, always experience some kind of pain with every visit. The team at The Smile Center do an amazing job of making you feel welcome and comfortable. All of the ladies at the front desk are super friendly and treat you as if they care to know you on a personal level, not just all business. Dr. Frey has done two dental procedures on me and I really think she must know magic because she is gentle, caring, and my experiences have been painless. I can not recommend this place enough! When you walk into The Smile Center you know you’re in the right place. You are immediately greeted by the friendly, welcoming staff. Everyone knows your name. The waiting room is not your typical waiting room, it is big, open and airy. Not that you spend much time there anyway. The staff at The Smile Center are punctual, they have respect for your time and don’t leave you sitting around looking at your watch. I am the third person in my family to go to The Smile Center. We heard such good things about The Smile Center that we took our oldest son there for braces. We were so impressed by the professionalism and attention to every detail from Dr. Frey and her entire staff that we took our youngest son there 6 months later. Now I am a client of The Smile Center, in braces. Also, our whole family has switched to The Smile Center for general dentistry from a dentist our family had seen for 20 years. One more thing: Last month I had a problem with the wire on my braces causing pain. The Smile Center was closed. I called and within an hour I was met there by the young lady that usually sees me for my braces and my problem was solved and I was out the door in less than ten minutes. Impressive. If you’re in the Virginia Beach, Norfolk area, and looking for a dentist, there’s no place like The Smile Center.

This is the ONLY PLACE TO GO TO IF YOU HAVE A FEAR OF DENTIST!!!!! The staff is beyond knowledgeable, helpful, and walk you through every step. The entire staff is like having your best friend there, from the beginning to the end. Words cannot express what a great place this is and this is coming from someone who is beyond terrified of a dentist and their office. Don’t believe, go in for yourself for a consult and find out. The chairs are comfortable, no weird dentist light, a direct light that is never in your eyes. While Dr. Frey is working on you. Just sit back, literally relax, and watch TV. Any cable show you want. Everyone stays up on their education and they DO NOT JUDGE YOU if you are not a twice a day brushing and a flosser. They educate you and encourage you not make you feel as though you are a child being scolded. Absolutely only place I will ever go, even if I move, I will still be coming here!!!!

Thank you so much! I called yesterday to get her an appointment to have a filling done by Dr. Frey and the receptionist was able to get my daughter in today @ 4:00pm. We were driving from Deep Creek Chesapeake Virginia (usually a 29 minute drive that turned into a 45 minute drive or so) so I called them at 3:50pm to them know that we would be late and GPS indicated that at that time we would arrive by 4:15pm for my daughters appointment! The receptionist said that was fine! She would let Dr. Frey know. We arrived at 4:21 pm and as I walked in I’m thinking that we will have to reschedule due to being so late, And they close at 5:00pm , instead to my surprise, they were so happy we arrived and got my daughter to the back promptly, as well as, did a filling on a cavity and a tooth extraction for a baby tooth that would not fall out on its on! I am so pleased with the way that always ,no matter when we come in, Dr. Frey truly cares about her patients, her staff as well in return her staff cares about her patients. They do have up to date technology and the up to date expertise to handle the one part of your body (your teeth) that we all hate and 90% of patients either put off work either because of fear or its so uncomfortable, I would highly recommend Dr. Frey to anyone who needs a Dentist that listens, cares, will work with you because of your budget, calm all your fears, and knows what she is doing when it comes to beautiful teeth, filling cavities, tooth extractions, cleanings, bridges, crowns, veneers and braces or any dental work that you may need done. Bring the whole family you will be pleased. My daughter didn’t like her last dentist at age 5 because he rushed and had very big hands and her fillings and mouth would hurt for days after procedures. Dr. Frey calmed her fears and works with my daughter to make her comfortable during procedures and has even worked on my teeth and made me very comfortable. The quality of work is 100%. Dr.Frey and her staff definetly deserve 5 stars or more thank you so much for making a big difference in my child’s life as well my life and my husbands! All is very much appreciated! I wouldn’t trust another dentist now that we have you working on our teeth! We do have a lot of issues that she has corrected, and she will be correcting in the future!

She takes the time to get to know her clients and their needs. She also does great with clients who are fearful of dental procedures. She really takes the time to elevate those fears and concerns.
