A friend recommended this practice after I expressed having dental anxiety. They’ve always taken great care of my teeth and my anxieties, asking for feedback about my comfort levels during cleanings and procedures regularly, explaining procedures and advising of unexpected noises or sensations more than any other dentist I’ve ever visited. I don’t have severe anxiety pre-appt. anymore!! From the front desk staff to Dr. McKenny himself, I love them all and travel down still despite not living or working in Seattle proper anymore.

I have been going to Dr. McKenny’s office for several years, when Dr. Gallgaher used to be in charge. They have always been thorough in my treatments and reasonable cost. They are also very courteous and don’t keep me waiting and I don’t feel rushed. My hygenist has been Suzannah for several years and she is pleasant and efficient.  One last thing. Dr. M. was the first physician who noticed I had a bone spur in my neck. This was about 10 years ago. Suzannah told me informally that she had a patient who had successful surgery. So  when it got to point where it affected my swallowing and air passage, I had it shaved down this past summer. But Dr. M. was the first one who diagnosed it, and I’m grateful for that.

I can’t really say enough great things about Dr. McKenny and his staff. My kids, husband, and in-laws are all in his care and I would recommend him without hesitation. He is an excellent dentist, but also cheerful and compassionate. My previous visits have been just for routine cleanings, but this time I suspected that I had cracked a tooth. I called and they fit me right in the next morning. Dr. McKenny sized up the situation right away (the tooth had to come out) and referred me to an excellent oral surgeon in the same building. Regarding the “upsell” comments from other reviewers, I have not felt pushed at all to get any service or product that I did not need or ask about from his staff or Dr. McKenny. The staff is very clear about what is and is not covered by insurance, so I appreciate that they set expectations clearly.

I’ve been going to Dr. McKenny’s office since I moved back to Seattle about 5+ years ago. I have also recommended him to all of my friends and coworkers when they are looking for a new dentist. I’m one of those people who loves going to the dentist, much to the dismay of my peers, so they’re often curious why I enjoy it so much! I just find their staff to be efficient, friendly, and super accommodating.

I love this dental practice. They do a great job, are accommodating and aren’t continually trying to practice “add-on dentistry”. Dr. McKenny is friendly, good natured, and explains procedures in a very non-threatening manner. His hygienists and chair side assistants are top notch and gentle. I always leave thinking I had a pleasant time and usually some laughs. What more can you ask of a dentist?

Just had a cleaning with Zuzana: she is the anti-plaque super hero! I have had regular cleanings three times a year for longer than I can remember. I am not the easiest patient at the dentist. My oral hygiene and my teeth are important to me, so I take it seriously. However, it’s still hard for me to sit in the chair. Wow! Zuzana shared more knowledge while she worked than I have ever experienced, and all with a highly engaged personality, kindness, caring, and ninja-like skill.

I wanted to find a very good dentist in Seattle downtown, so looked on Yelp, I chose Dr McKenny because of his outstanding reviews. I had previously had root canal treatment at a different dental practice so my tooth needed a crown, I wanted to choose my dentist carefully to make sure it was done well. Dr McKenny did a very good job, his assistant helped with it too, and he was very nice and both are professional. Dr McKenny was very friendly and helped answer my questions. I would definitely recommend Dr McKenny!

Dr Mckenny has been overseeing my teeth for the past ten years. He and the staff are very professional and have a great touch when it comes to cleaning teeth. Most recently I was experiencing some jaw pain, he recommended a custom night guard as the least evasive treatment. The guard did the trick and I’m now pain free.I highly recommend their dentistry practice.

I started seeing Dr. McKenny last year after not seeing a dentist for…too long.  I normally dread the dentist — especially after a long break from regular cleanings.  Dr. McKenny was super kind though, no scolding or shaming.  We just worked to get me on the right track again with dental care and visits and I now actually look forward to going to the dentist —  unbelievable!  Dr. McKenny takes a very macro approach to oral health and referred me for a sleep study as a result of some of my issues.  It turned out I had sleep apnea — the diagnosis prompted big changes for me and I am happy to report I’m apnea free now, thanks to a super adorable mouth guard thing and some lifestyle changes.  I am so grateful Dr. McKenny goes above and beyond typical dental stuff!  I can’t recommend him enough, best dentist ever.  His staff is great too, they’ve gone out of their way to make sure my insurance matters were handled well.  Go see him!

I have been going to Dr. McKenny for years now.  I will always go to him!!! I have reffered many of my co-workers to go to him as well. He and his team are friendly and helpful.  I dont floss as much as I should yet i dont get punished ..instead  I am educated on proper brushing and flossing ! I always get a thorough breakdown of what my insurance pays and what i pay so I can budget and plan which is excellent! I highly recommend the team here at Dr. McKenny’s

Dr McKenny’s practice is accommodating, HELPFUL, professional and incredibly friendly! I had an amazing check-up and one of the most thorough cleanings I’ve ever experienced. My son also had amazing service, arriving with several cavities and a broken filling, leaving 2 visits later all taken care of! Bravo to Dr and all staff!!!

After an unsettling visit with my previous dentist (drilled the wrong teeth), I turned to Yelp to find a new one. DDS McKenny’s office is a 45min-1hr drive but after reading the gleaming reviews, I decided to give them a try. The office was difficult to find (it’s next to Bartell Drugs, hidden in the same building as the Cherry Street Coffee shop). . . mostly because I’m still unfamiliar with Seattle and the parking garages, so get lost easily. Even though I was a few minutes late for my first appointment, the office assistants were still cordial and the genuine air of friendliness in the office put me at ease. The dental rooms are clean and provide a lovely skyline view of Seattle. The woman who cleaned my teeth was amiable, thorough, and left me with a pain-free bright smile. Dr. McKenny answered any questions I had and was kind about my concerns. After experiences with dentists that either gave little explanation or went into a daze of prolix exposition, I was elated by Dr. McKenny’s attentiveness (bedside manner). After my visit, I can finally say that I enjoy my dental checkups! If you’re considering switching dentists or looking for a new one, I highly recommend Dr. McKenny!
