Dr Thompson is amazing and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs braces no matter what your age! From day one when I first walked into the office I have had nothing but great things to say about him and his incredible staff! They’re all very professional, personable and friendly! I love walking into their office and they immediately call you by your name before you even sign in! I got my braces on in my mid 30’s and was hesitant at first because of my age, but instantly felt like I was being taken care of and that my age didn’t play a factor in it at all! I even had to have a pallet widener which was a challenge, but Dr T and his staff made sure I felt comfortable and confident in my braces!! After my two year treatment of braces, I received clear retainers and I love them!! My nieces and nephews had amazing experiences here as well with their braces and I have several friends (of all ages) who have loved going there also! They have great incentive programs that make it fun for everyone! You earn “beach bucks” for every time you wear your cool (free) T-Shirt that they give you to each appointment and they can be redeemed for cool gift cards! They even provide an awesome Summer Party for you and your family!! Seriously, they go above and beyond! Had my braces done here, and what an amazing staff! Dr Thompson is very good at remembering each of his patients, and treats them like they’re the only ones in the room. His staff are very respectful and easy to communicate with. I had my braces on for 29 months, but partially because I had a hard time with the rubber bands. If you do what you’re told consistently, everything goes much better. Would highly recommend to anyone needing orthodontic work.

We needed to get my son braces so his tooth could come in–he had crowding on the top. We have been so happy with Thompson Orthodontics! They were the most friendly, the most knowledgeable, and the most thorough out of all the offices we checked. Plus, their office atmosphere is amazing! My kids would stay there all day every day if I let them–the decor is welcoming, there are toys, movies, popcorn, drinks, cookies, and really friendly staff. And Dr. T has done a great job with my son’s teeth–not only did his tooth come in correctly, but he has a great looking smile now! And the Beach Bucks and extra contests have also scored my son $75 and an iPad Mini, as well as several fun parties with other Thompson Orthodontics customers. Really great staff, so funny and kind, full of banter etc. Always willing to talk about their life story, does their job quick and efficiently. You will not regret a trip through the braces at the incredible Thompson Orthodontics. Be aware that they are remodeling currently however, so there are not as many fun decorations. I also love how this staff is a group of individuals who are all friends, always talking and gossiping, it’s really fun. Where’s Erica going after work? Is Morgan moving? This office also has Netflix (a popular choice) as well as Mario Kart in the front. A theater can also be found in the office with popcorn a plenty though both have been out of use for a while. They do so many fun things, including Beach Bucks, pool parties, etc. This office is also unique for its beach theme and it’s surfer trademark “Straight Teeth Rule!” If you are currently trying to choose an orthodontist, try Thompson.

I was a patient here for about a year of treatment. This is, unfortunately, my second round of braces (first time was not here though), but they were way better than my first round of braces. I went through my second set of braces with Thompson Orthodontics. (My first was with another orthodontist.) The experience I had at Thompson was by far more personable, comfortable, and I they did more to help me long-term. While the previous orthodontist informed me that I’d need corrective surgery for my bite, Dr. Thompson was able to correct the issue by having me where rubber bands throughout my treatment, saving me the cost and uncomfortable experience of having the corrective surgery the first orthodontist had informed me would be unavoidable. Throughout my teenage years and especially through high school I really wanted straight teeth but couldn’t afford it. I got into my early 20s and finally decided to just go for it and my parents had recommended Thompson. I definitely didn’t want braces in my 20s so I got invisalign. Thompson is affordable and such a great environment. I should’ve been done with my invisalign in 18 months but I wasn’t satisfied after that amount of time so Thompson was so patient with me and allowed me to do extra trays until I was absolutely happy with how my smile looked. That is so important to me and I’m so grateful for how they took care of me through the long process! Highly recommend!

Despite what another reviewer said, Dr Thompson gives you a free set of retainers the day you get braces off and then covers any damage for the first year with no cost. After that they are only $50 ea to replace (most Ortho’s charge $200+!) Unless the person is being careless, retainers should easily last 5 or more years with zero “wear and tear”. He is extremely good with patients and cares a lot about their long term care. (Hence the cheap retainers) I would 1000% recommend going to Thompson Orthodontics!

Thompson is an orthodontic specialist, which means that after receiving his dental degree, he completed an advanced university training program. He first graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science, then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington and Master of Science degree from the University of Louisville. He is a member of the Utah Dental Association, the Utah Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists and the Pinnacle Study Club. Dr. Thompson regularly attends seminars to update his knowledge and skills in the orthodontic field. He possesses the expertise to not only straighten your teeth, but to correct irregularities of the bite and jaws. A native of Washington, he practiced in Arizona before moving to Orem, Utah. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Thompson is a sports enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his wife Donnell and his three little boys. Dr. Thompson is very involved in his community, family and church.
