Dr. Nevins was my original dentist, best of the bestest! I had the privilege of seeing Dr. Tim Elder as a new patient, thru the efforts of his administrator coordinator- Leanne, who excels in customers service skills & dental expertise! Dr. Tim’s bedside manner is beyond excellent, he treats you like you are the only patient he has ever treated! His compassion & knowledge is top-shelf. He truly is an outstanding dental physician….whatever he advises is the route to go, his pivotal interest is not financial, but the welfare of his patients…..Kudos to Leanne & Dr. Tim Elder!

Dr. Elder is a fantastic clinician and professional. I was in DC for a gala where I was getting a national award with 1000 people present. I chipped my front tooth and it was very noticeable. I called his office-having found him by proximity and good reviews-and they got me in that afternoon. He fixed my front tooth with a temporary filling that looked fantastic. My pictures were great because of this. It is so wonderful to find a wonderful clinician in a new city who took me in on a moments notice. His whole office had the same demeanor-service. I can’t recommend him enough.

I’ve been to Dr. Elder’s office three times now and each one has been a friendly and comfortable experience. The front desk staff greets you by name, the hygienist are nice and gentle. Dr. Elder is thorough and takes time to have a conversation with you. Would definitely recommend Dr. Elder.

I’ve been going to Dr. Elder for just over 11 years. Him and his staff are fantastic. You can tell they are dedicated professionals who truly believe in great care and health for your teeth. They’ve even watched my kid the one time I had to bring her with me. Dr. Elder is easy to talk to. Tomy is a delight and Shirley is always driving good care points home. Even though I no longer work in DC – I make the trek in because it is so worth it.

After searching for a dentist I like in the district for 3 years, I finally found one!! Everyone is so kind at this practice and they do a fantastic job cleaning your teeth and answering any and all questions. Plus, for once I didn’t get the feeling that they were trying to push any procedures or charge me for unnecessary add-ons. Definitely deserve 5 stars!!

Such a kind and informative dentist! I needed a broken filling fixed, and had very limited time available to fit in a visit to the dentist because of work. Thankfully, Dr. Elder was able to fit me in to his tight holiday schedule around mine. He was so personable and quick. He listened, examined, then explained everything he was going to do to me clearly before and during the procedure. He even adjusted it to feel more comfortable for me after he finished. And to top it all he gave me a discount because I did not have insurance coverage for the work.  I highly recommend Dr. Tim Elder to anyone needing a dentist in the heart of DC.

I just realized today that there are 2 Dr. Elders  in two separate offices, in the exact same building. There is a son [Tim} and I think his grandfather [Gary]. I was kind of confused at first, because Dr. Tim[the younger] is in a brand new office one floor up, in suite #306. That is the dentist I always have seen, in the past. The staff looks the exact same, and it is a beautiful office. They took digital x-rays, so as soon as the x-ray was taken it showed up on the computer screen. I love this new office and Dr. Tim Elder. I highly recommend this office.

Dr. Elder is a caring and experienced professional. I went twice – once for a checkup/second opinion, and the next for 2 sealants. Both times, he greeted me personally. I hate it when healthcare providers just do stuff to my body with tools I’ve never seen before, and expect me to be okay with it. Dr. Elder does a fantastic job of explaining all the tools he’ll be using at the beginning of the session, and also explaining what he’s about to do and what I can expect to feel, every step of the way. Two sealants took less than 20 minutes — including him making adjustments to ensure my comfort as well as the sealants’ durability. At no point did I feel like he was rushing. Leanne, the receptionist, is organized, warm, and communicative. As the first face that I’ve seen, she has really set the tone for the high quality experience I’ve gotten both times with Dr. Elder. I am so happy I found his office.

I have been going to Dr. Elder for over 10 years and my experience with the front line staff has been nothing but positive. Tomy is very personable and is very helpful. I have never had any issues with her. Dr. Elder has a great personality and down to earth. Hillary is very thorough and personable. Just a lovely environment that helps since going to the dentist is hardly ever a pleasant experience!

I love Dr. Elder and his team! — friendly, informative, fair pricing, and thorough, and always helpful.  They make you feel like an individual, not like part of an assembly line as at so many DC dentists these days.  I give them a very enthusiastic five stars and highly recommend.

We have been going to Dr Tim Elder since he has been in practice, and prior to that, his father, Dr. Gary Elder, now for about 40 years. Our children started with Gary Elder as children and now go to Dr. Tim Elder as adults.  We drive down from Rehoboth Beach, DE to see Dr  Elder.  Teeth are important and can be expensive to maintain if you don’t have the best dentist. My 6 upper front teeth implants, which required extractions and implants at age 41 because of a childhood accident, would not be holding fine, at my age at 66, 25 years later, were it not for the dental expertise of Tim and his father.  He and his staff are excellent.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Elder’s for over a decade; before that his dad was my dentist. I left DC a few years ago and I have not met a single dentist like him since, and I’ve tried! I actually schedule trips back to DC from New Orleans specifically to see him, or rather have him see me. Dr. Elder is skilled, professional, and kind, always working around your needs. For me, he represents the best of two worlds: the attention, care, and trust one gets from visiting an old-school family dentist married with a modern and efficient approach that uses all the latest technology and practices, reducing time, cost, and yes pain. Most dentists where I live now have big practices with dentists that have no idea who you are, offering more of an assembly-line experience than that of a family dentist office. Noe of them have the light touch Dr Elder uses to avoid pain and provide detailed work; I never really knew how good I had it. Most of the dentists I have seen since I was a regular patient of Dr. Elder comment on the work I’ve had done, how well it was done, and how good it looks. If you were to ask them, I’m sure all of his other patients would say the same thing. You’d be lucky to have him as your dentist.

Fans of my reviews have followed my painstaking quest to find a dentist I would not mind sticking with for more than 2 visits. Today was my first visit to the office of Dr. Elder and Elder. When I first called in for an appointment, the receptionist told me that they were booked up until November, but she asked me if I was willing to take a cancelled appointment–which I gladly took. The hygienist, Barbara, was very sweet and her lively chatter distracted me from her rummaging in my mouth. Instead of the water and suction, she scaled by hand which I prefer. Both her and Dr. Tim were very thorough with the examination and I felt like I was taken care of and not just another paycheck. In addition to the wonderful service, I loved that they didn’t push any unnecessary procedures on me. In fact, they confirmed that I don’t need enamel fillings (or bondings), like one of my previous dentists had recommended. I grind my teeth so Barbara went over all the different types of mouth guards I can try. They answered all my questions very thoroughly and did not rush me out at all. Absolutely pain-free and wonderful visit. Yes, I’m describing a dentist’s office.
