I have been a patient of Dr. Beal since 1992 and he is by far the best dentist I have ever had. He explains everything thoroughly and is very kind and friendly. His staff are also wonderful, very flexible when the need arises to change appointments and for those of us who work full time during the week, there are early morning, late afternoon and Saturday appointments available. The office is located on beautiful Newbury Street and inside is lovely; lots of bricks, plants and personality. Helps if you enjoy classical music, which I do!!! Visit Dr. Beal & Associates if you need a new dentist!!

Mark Beale has been my dentist for over a dozen years (he is also dentist for two adult daughters). Dr.Beale and his staff have taken excellent care of my teeth — and in the process helped repair damage left over from earlier dentistry. Dr. Beal is a very kind dentist. When the crown on my front tooth came off, I was referred to him by another of his patients. His very friendly and accommodating administrative staff fit me in for my emergency, and he took care of me the same day. Knowing that I would need a lot of work from a car accident and neglect I had been putting off going to the dentist. Dr. Beal immediately made me feel comfortable and that over time I could return my mouth to good health. We are half through my treatment, and I can’t recommend him enough.

I’ve been going here for around 3 years, the big draw is that they’re open on Saturdays and that works with my 9-5 schedule so I won’t have to take time off work. They gave me a great recommendation when I needed a root canal and then finished by installing a crown on my tooth. Very friendly and courteous staff, I couldn’t recommend them more. Also it’s not my cup of tea to go shopping nearby but it is located on Newbury St so if you want to go shopping before/after everything you could want is right there.

We have been patients of Dr.Beal for over 10 years. Cannot say enough of good things about him. Best dentist, great person. For the office in general – receptionist and office admin are doing a good job. Yes, there is usually a wait of 15 to 30 minutes, but I believe it is due to Doctor’s attention to details and desire to do a perfect job (I spent more then scheduled time in the chair on several occasions, and result was flawless!). So, if you are looking for quick in and out visit – maybe this is not a place for you. If you are looking for a lasting quality – then you are in the right place. PS. Never been treated by Dr.Chu – so have no opinion on her service.

I love this dentist!! His office is in a great location right off Newbury Street. All of his staff are friendly and really make you comfortable. He has no problems answering questions about dental care. Best of all, he’s not anxious to sign you up for dental work you don’t need. He told me about a couple of things I could do in my mouth but let me know that they could all wait. I’m skipping the cheaper dental HMO option next year so I can continue to see him.

I met Dr. Mark Beal years ago. He was just starting his practice, and did all the cleaning himself. He fixed a tooth — a front one — which to this day he keeps an eye on. Today? I have been going to this dental office for many years now (close to 10 years). When I come through the door, it feels like I am visiting friends. I don’t think I have enough good things to say about this practice and specifically Alana and Dr. Beal. This was my first dental cleaning in Boston and I came in with very high expectations. All of these were met…and then some! Alana was my hygienist. She’s smart, thorough and I felt so very comfortable. It was such an educating experience and more than that I never once felt pressured time or money wise. Dr. Beal has excellent bedside manner and took the time to go over my questions along with giving great advice medically. I only wish more dental practices were like this one. Fantastic team.

This place has completely changed the way I view going to the dentist. Admittedly, I avoided the dentist for many years due to some rather unpleasant experiences. I found Mark Beal and Associates through google and found that they accepted my insurance so I decided to give them a shot. I’m so glad I did! Alanna made me feel very comfortable right off the bat. She’s very sweet and has a great sense of humor. She’s very knowledgeable and always informs you of what she’s doing (and what you should be doing too). My dentist, Dr Balaban, is probably one of the coolest doctors around. Very down to earth, honest and super informative. Not to mention, my teeth look better than ever! The office staff is great too. Scheduling is convenient and they are very good at it, so it’s rare that you even have to wait to be seen. All in all, very happy I found this place!

Dr. Beal was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! He didn’t do much work, but that’s one of the reasons he was fantastic! Instead of jumping right in to do a ton of expensive work, he took a great deal of time and care to hypothesis test and see what was REALLY going on with my teeth. He also explained everything from a medical perspective (from what he was seeing on the x-rays and why, to what he was doing and why, to even what the chemicals were that were being place don my teeth and how they work), which I find is unusually rare with dentists. I have a lot of anxiety about dental appointments and he made me feel better than any other dentist has. I will be back for sure!

I’m not sure how you could have a bad experience here. Sure, it’s a dentist. But Dr. Beal and especially the hygienist Alana are so sweet and kind and – most importantly – do an amazing job cleaning without causing pain. Really what more do you want? Like absolutely any other doctors office (or plane flight, or dinner reservation), the later in the day your appointment is, the more likely it is that the doctor is running late and you’ll have to wait a little. It’s worth it to have a great dentist.

The dentists here are perfectionists, and do everything they can to save a tooth structure, rather than immediately resort to a root canal, implant or removal. I’ve been going to Dr Beal for years now. Not to knock the care that I’d had in the past, but he’s the first dentist I’ve had that really made me feel comfortable, relaxed, and personally cared for. He’s fantastic. Recently, I saw Dr Ly for a couple of appointments, and she has unbelievably met the high bar set by Dr Beal. Very kind and friendly, unrushed, and I again felt comfortable, relaxed, and personally cared for. As another reviewer noted, she’s got a very good, soft touch delivering numbing needles. Honestly, I can’t say for certain that I had gotten a needle, but as I had two fillings done and wasn’t in pain I must presume that she was just that good on both occasions. The friendly atmosphere doesn’t stop at Drs Beal and Ly, however. Everyone across the board is wonderful and always has been since I started seeing Dr Beal in the mid-90s. You can’t go wrong with Dr Beal & Associates. The only way I will stop seeing them is if I move too far away. Even then I might try to find a way!

I am in Boston for work and broke a tooth this morning.Being in pain and 300 miles from home I called the front desk at my hotel who told me to try Dr. Beals office. I called and a wonderful woman named Aimee answered who listened to my problem and asked where i was, I told her and she said”Good get a cab and you will be seen in a 1/2 hour” I did as I was told. 37 mins. later i was in a chair where this “Angel” Dr. Chu was fixing all my dental woe’s.They fixed Me up,sent me to the Walgreens and even called back later to check on Me. How did I not review this place already? I’ve been coming here on and off for years (depending on where I work, sometimes it’s just easier to get a cleaning near my office), but I always get top notch service from start to finish. Dr. Beal and Dr. Ly are both incredible. I just switched over to this dental office two months ago from my dentist in California after coming to Boston, and I had a series of fairly urgent fillings done. Dr. Beal has been my dentist for about 30 years. Back in the 1980’S when the AIDS virus condition was hardly known and unstoppable, Dr. Beal knowingly suited up to examine and work on my 20 year old cousin’s teeth– this is the man he is! I am a patient of Dr. El-Hadidi, an Oral Surgeon, around the corner from Dr. Beal. Dr El-Hadidi recommended Dr. Beals’ office based on my insurance coverage (MED TAC). I have a new implant and need a dentist to take over where the surgeon stops. First off, booking; Dr. Beals office has been very thorough about my appointments. In my experience Dr. Beal or Alana the Hygienist will mark off a time in their personal schedules via PC at their stations and on your way out you will get confirmation in writing, email and snail mail. Solid and professional. Thank you. The Hygienist Alana does excellent work. I have somewhat sensitive teeth and while there is a slight tingle I must say that I credit her attention to detail and dexterity to my comfort and rapid recovery after implant surgery. I am a smoker and was told there was a 33% chance of the implant being rejected. One Month out and my gums are doing much better. There is a new x-ray machine that is very convenient. No more cardboard film trays. Digital x-rays right from the seat. No more waiting for film and then a reshoot, all in real time. Have not had to deal with billing yet but I will wait and see. I’ve been looking for a top quality Dentist and I have found his office. I’ll update my reviews as I return more and more. UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! Dr. Beal and his team are incredible. They provide comprehensive service, outstanding care and extremely accurate foresight when it comes to dentistry and oral health. I see some reviewers have made negative complaints about the timeliness of the appointments and I must ask, Do you want to be treated like a fast food customer? Dentistry done well should be done with accuracy and this takes careful consideration. Gentle Dental will get you in and out in no time and you will suffer the consequences down the road. Dr Beal is the maestro of dentistry and his team from the front desk to the back hygienists to the billing department and so on are an orchestra in perfect synch. Bravo PS, they are so good I went to an appointment on the morning of my birthday as a gift to myself. It’s a pleasure to be treated there.

I’ve been a loyal patient of Dr. Beal’s for over 10 years. We’ve been through thick and thin together – multiple crowns, replacing old fillings, cracked teeth, you name it. And he lets me choose the music when I’ve got a long procedure going on. He even doled out advice over the phone once during a hurricane on a Sunday when we were all supposed to “shelter in place” and my temporary crown had shattered. Everyone at the practice is great to deal with. Alana is a particularly awesome hygienist. Please, never retire, Dr. Beal.
