What an office! Truly all of the staff here is incredible. If there was more than 5 stars, Dr. K and his staff would get! My crown fell off and I needed a dentist fast. I spoke with Sherri on the phone 2-3 times and she got me in fast and worked around my schedule (that is amazing!) The staff is friendly and professional. Dr Kaliher is polite, honest and efficient. He will discuss your treatment options with you in advance and suggests only what is necessary. Unlike many other dentists, I have NEVER felt that Dr Kaliher is “upselling.” Dr Kaliher has a calm presence and his methods allow as little discomfort as possible. The best dental practice in Texas, period. I was tired of taking my family to a dental practice where everything was “urgent.” I was also tired of flat screen TVs at every turn, and I was even more exhausted at the thought of paying for them. Enter Dr. Kaliher’s practice. It truly is the most cozy, professional, and honest practice I’ve ever visited. From the receptionist to the technicians to the doctor himself, everyone is wonderful to work with. A couple of years ago I had an implant put in. Recently, during a routine cleaning, I mentioned having issues with my #30. Dr. Kaliher proceeded to check it out and said he was also not pleased with what he saw — that a gap had developed that was allowing food particles to get stuck that could effect the teeth on either side of my implant. Instead of seeing dollar signs, Dr. Kaliher graciously offered to warrant his work. I returned yesterday to have my new gear put in. Dr. Kaliher was still not 100% satisfied with the coverage the crown would provide. What he did next blew me away. He picked up the phone and called the lab on 38th street. Then, he put on his coat, grabbed his car keys and was out the door with my crown. About 30 minutes later he returned with my original crown plus a bit more porcelain added to it from the lab. We were all very pleased with the new fit — and helping to preserve the teeth on either side of my implant. If you are shopping for a new dentist, please visit Dr. Kaliher’s office in Rosedale. The entire practice is just simply, “good people.”

So first I just want to start by saying I fall into the category of young adults traumatized by a bad experience as a child. If you’ve had the misfortune of swimming through similar waters, you’re in good hands here. All of Dr. Kaliher’s staff members are extremely polite and professional, so much so that I like missing work to come here. The office also has a beautiful view, and happens to be nestled in a cool part of town which makes it easy to eat good food, or shop after your visit. Highly recommend whether you’re new to town, or if you’re current dentist is kinda meh. P.S. The office has ample parking space.

I’ve been going to Dr. Kaliher’s office since I moved to Austin about three years ago, and I’ve had nothing but great experiences. I always feel kind of bad because, in between cleanings, my love of black coffee results in tough stains developing between my teeth, but they’re always incredibly nice and never complain, and the work they do is consistently fantastic. I would also like to add that the receptionist Sherri is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She always remembers me when I walk in the door and seems happy to see me. Things like that make a huge difference!

Great care all the way! It had been a couple of years since I had been back and, honestly, I was worried about visiting a dentist in the era of COVID-19. Like everywhere else, you get your temperature taken. Then you fill out a questionnaire about travel history and any possible exposure. When I handed the clipboard and pen back, staff immediately wiped both down with disinfectant wipes. Needless to say, everyone was wearing masks. Both the dental hygienist/assistant and Dr. Kaliher put new gloves on while you watch, something I was glad to see. Dr. Kaliher was wearing TWO masks. One appeared to be a N95 mask, covered by another standard surgical mask, very reassuring!

I have always been nervous about going to the dentist, but Dr. Kaliher and his staff make you feel so comfortable and welcome that it’s easy to forget any anxiety. Scheduling is simple and they send you reminders via text which I find convenient. The staff explains everything that’s happening during your exam and cleaning. The practice is located inside a very well-kept, super clean vintage Austin home. The comfortable surroundings of the waiting room really helped me relax and the giant picture box windows looking out to the atrium make the visit really pleasant. If you prefer to zone out watching TV, they have flat-screens mounted at the perfect angle when you’re laid back in the chair. I also enjoyed the mellow music playing in the background. Overall, I felt like Kaliher dentistry offered the perfect blend of professionalism and an easy-going, non-pushy environment. It’s evident they really care about providing you with excellent care. The pride shows through. Highly recommend.

Today was my first appt with Dr. Kaliher. I am a new patient and had a dental emergency due to an infected tooth. They got me in within a few hours and found the source of the problem right away. First of all, the receptionist/appt scheduler was as friendly and professional as I have ever seen in a medical office. The dental assistant got me back within 5 minutes of checking in and started taking xrays right away. Dr. Kaliher came in shortly after and thoroughly explained what was going on and a treatment plan. He was phenomenal. This was an emergency appt and not even my full initial check up, but he was in no rush at all and took his time answering all of my questions. I cannot wait to go back to him for my cleaning and begin all of my dental needs with Dr. Kaliher. I was recommended to him from my coworker and will definitely be recommending him to my friends and family. Excellent visit!

Seriously though, sometimes I get stressed by thinking of having to move away or get different insurance or other things that would cause me to have to find a new dentist. What I really like about Kaliher Dentistry is that it’s inside a large, classic old Austin home and centrally located in Rosedale. Easy access. Easy parking. You feel at ease there. And the staff is so friendly. But friendly in a genuine way, not a cheesy, we-just-want-your-business fake way. It’s the real deal here. Truly, your anxieties melt away. Very professional. They really put you at ease. And the facility is exceptionally clean. Hospital cleanliness, but with the warmth of a childhood home. Dr Kaliher is very knowledgeable and experienced and really takes his time with you. Whenever I hear people bemoan the loss of “the good old days,” and talk about how “things used to be in Austin,” I am immediately reminded of Dr Kaliher’s office. They still offer old school Austin hospitality, with an easy-going, yet highly professional, approach to patient care, but with all the modern machinery (their x-ray machine has 80% less x-rays than old machines) and advances in pain remediation. In the midst of a vintage hardwood floor waiting room, they check you in with a super easy to read and use iPad tablet so all your records are electronic and easily retrievable for you. It’s like the best of the past collides with the best of the state-of-the-art. This is the only place in Austin like it. A real diamond in the rough.

After my first visit to his office, I certainly understood and agree with every one of those positive reviews.
