I was referred to Dr. Updike by a friend of mine who is a dentist. After visiting and comparing other orthodontists, I choose Dr. Updike for all my 3 children and I am extremely satisfied with my choice. Dr. Updike is a wonderful lady, extremely knowledgeable, professional, very detail oriented and caring. For all these reasons, I feel that she is really somebody that I can trust.The office and the staff are all very friendly and enthusiastic and my kids are actually happy to go to the orthodontist! Updike Orthondontics is a place that truly gathers to the needs of their patients and they are very accommodating if you have to re-schedule an appointment. I highly recommend this facility!

Dr. Updike is a wonderful orthodontist!  My daughter just finished her first phase of braces.  We were referred by her dentist.  I was very nervous and intimidated to start the process, but Dr. Updike and her staff are friendly, patient and professional.  The office is extremely clean, bright and fun. Like some other reviewers mentioned, we also let our daughter meet a few orthodontist and she overwhelmingly chose Dr. Updike’s office.  She never complained when we took her to her appointments because they were quick and always happy to see her.  She loved picking her flavors for her molds and colors for her retainers and bands.  Its those little things that mean a lot to them. My daughter broke her retainer 2 x and each time they were able to fix it quickly and cheaply rather than charging for a new one. The best part is: we NEVER had to wait more than 5 minutes!!  Seriously.  They have evening hours so you can work around your sports or work schedule

Started off coming in 2017, they are willing to negotiate prices depending on your own financial situation, they take very good care of you, and are very kind. They want the best for you and you’re smile, my daughter had her braces on for 28 months with them and her smile came perfect! I recommend them 100%, they’re amazing, very social and sweet, make it for not such a boring time at the orthodontist!

Dr. Updike has been our children’s orthodontist for over two years, and we couldn’t be happier. Dr. Updike has strong credentials, and came highly recommended , which is very important to us. She is kind, gentle and has a great sense of humor. The kids actually look forward to their office visits! Her office is very efficient, runs on time, and very accommodating. The staff are very professional and helpful, and the office is super clean and inviting. They even have video games for the kids to play when waiting to be seen or when one or the other is in with the doctor. Great idea! She tries her best to make the overall experience friendly and stress free, while taking care of business at the same time. I see my children’s smiles evolving and I couldn’t be happier! Five stars for Dr. Updike and team!

Updike Orthodontics has an amazing staff and they all work beautifully as a team.  When you enter the office you are always greeted with a smile.  Dr. Updike and her staff are friendly, professional and patient.  Their staff is gentle with their patients, always asking, “Does anything hurt?” Updike Orthodontics try to make their patients as comfortable as possible.  They tell their patients exactly what they are doing to your teeth so you know what to expect and not worry.  During consultations with Dr. Sophia Updike, she explains step by step the plan for your teeth. They also recently obtained a new office and it is amazing.  It is bright, clean, and organized.  Their office is also always decorated and they have guessing games you can participate in to win prizes.  My daughter had a great experience getting her bracing and would gladly recommend her to any of her friends.

I really wish there was a way to give Updike Orthodontics 6 stars! This is because the moment you walk through the doors you are embraced with warmth and kindness. When you sit in the chair next to Dr. Sophia Updike and look into her eyes, you automatically feel like you’ve known her for years and you trust her with everything. The beautiful thing about Updike Orthodontics is the fact that everyone in the office genuinely wants to help you on your journey to creating a beautiful smile. I could not be more happy and content with the results of Dr. Updike’s work. She is very careful and diligent, and she will for sure work appointments around your specific schedule. Dr. Sophia Updike is unlike any orthodontist I have ever met. I can tell that she truly enjoys her career, and she is very passionate about making sure each and every one of her patients are taken care of. I am so happy that I went to Updike Orthodontics, and I would have regret it if I went anywhere else. I want to say thank you to Sophia Updike and her whole team for creating a relaxing and enjoyable braces experience. You truly are the best of the best. I had an unusual situation: A relative visiting from out of town felt that his retainer was coming off one of the teeth.  I called Updike Orthodontics in panic.  They graciously gave me an appointment within 24 hours.  When we arrived, the staff quickly collected the information (since my relative was a new patient) and within minutes the orthodontist came to have a look.  She reassured us that, although some glue may have come off, there was plenty to hold the retainer in place until my relative returned home to be seen by his regular orthodontist.  Obviously this practice is not trying to push unneeded procedures – they just want to do what’s best for the patient.  The practice has earned my admiration for this uncommon combination of caring, professionalism, compassion, and efficiency

Our kids have been patients with Dr. Update since soon after she set up her practice here and we’ve been thrilled with the experience. The office staff and overall experience is friendly and inviting, and we really appreciate the level of personal communication we receive from Dr. Updike. She takes the time to build a relationship with her patients and to explain everything clearly with us. Our kids have always felt comfortable coming to appointments. The quality of care has been wonderful. Both of our kids have completed their main orthodontic work and are now dealing with retainers. The results are fantastic. Orthodontics is a long process, and it’s been very comforting working with a doctor and an office staff that makes that process welcoming and satisfying. I can’t recommend her strongly enough, not just for the quality of the dental work but the entire experience

I got my braces done at Updike Ortho and I could not have gone to a better orthodontist! Dr. Updike and the staff are not only caring, kind, and warm, but also professional and knowledgeable. When I was getting my braces on, I thought it would be a scary and painful experience. In reality, it felt like nothing, which just goes to show the expertise and skillfulness of the staff. Not only is Updike Ortho a great ortho office, but they are also caring about the community. I’ve seen Updike Ortho sponsor many jog-a-thons and other events which support our local schools and communities. In fact, I’m hosting a break through challenge to raise awareness of COVID-19, where students submit projects on the importance of social distancing or how to prevent the spread of COVID. Updike Ortho was more than happy to sponsor our prizes; they really care about the Irvine community. Thank you so much Updike Ortho; I can’t express my gratitude enough.
