My wife and I have been patients for ~27+ years. We have implicit trust in Dr. Yarbrough and his caring staff. Our experience has been outstanding throughout. Dr. Yarbrough has a conservative, common sense approach. We have never felt pushed or pressured to have all sorts of unwarranted and costly procedures. In fact, it was this type of experience that led us to Dr. Yarbrough to start and we’ve remained loyal patients since. His practice treats their patients like they are family. Like a lot of others, I put off my regular visits due to the pandemic. However, I recently felt I needed to change that. My experience was very pleasant and positive. I was left confident that all protocols were followed and were effective. So, if you are a current patient or are looking for dentist, I certainly would endorse Westgate Dental.

Not only does Dr Yarborough set you at ease with his amazingly reassuring demeanor, experience, and expertise, but his staff is A+++. I’ve never EVER been so at ease with something I’ve feared so much! Ntm, that his procedures(and I’ve had plenty bc I avoided going to the dentist before) have always turned out top notch. I had been looking for the right dentist since moving to Austin 3 years ago. It sounds crazy but I had been with my dentist in Houston for 17 years and I would drive to Houston for treatment and cleanings since I have complex dental work with multiple dental implants, root canals, bridge work the lot! I really had a thorough cleaning by Melissa who made me feel at ease and knows what she is doing, and Dr. Yarbrough who is my dentist for the next 17 years for sure. Front desk staff was friendly, efficient, it was a great experience. Highly recommend.

I was that patient that I’m sure most dentists do not look forward to. Two words: High Maintenance. Two more words: High Anxiety. First thing on a Monday morning too, 15 minutes late for a root canal, in which I needed my hand held the whole time and a strong dose of sedatives. The staff at Westgate Family Dental and Dr. Yarbrough were so kind and supportive through the entire process. They did a wonderful job of putting me at ease. The root canal went as well as it could go and within two days, most of the tenderness and sensitivity was gone. With my torturous anxiety over dental work, I feel really lucky to have found them. Dr. Yarbrough has an authentic smile and laugh which puts me at ease immediately. The staff entertained my sedated dumb humor. The dental assistant was comforting when I started crying as if I was saying goodbye to a leg that was going to be cut off. I literally walked into their office and said, “I hope you don’t mind that I’m going to be a total and complete mess today.” Who says that AT THE DENTIST? I do. Cause I’m weird and lack social boundaries… but that is another conversation. I’ll be back and I’ll be better behaved next time. Promise. Thank you WFD!

Westgate Dental is a great dental office with a great staff. Dr Yarbrough was my first adult-life dentist. After moving out of Austin, I switched to a local dentist for a few years. After a couple procedures with my new dentist I decided to go back to Westgate Dental, despite the long drive for each visit. I just had my first return visit and am feeling very good about the return. The work and staff are a step above the rest. I would (and have) highly recommend anyone looking for an Austin dentist to visit Dr Yarbrough. My wife also sees Dr Yarbrough. She has an intense dental phobia. Of the three offices she has been to over the last 15 years Westgate Dental is the only one I can get her to make an appt with. They seem to do very well with those who experience that sort of anxiety.

How often can one say the best part of their day was my dentist appointment! Dr. Yarbrough and his team are fantastic and once you walk in the door you feel like you are just visiting a friend for an hour. Katie was awesome and truly does a great job. She is gentle yet thorough and her contagious positive energy allows you to just sit back and let her do her magic. Liz is always wonderful and boy does she know what she’s doing when it comes to all this new insurance stuff. Dr. Latiolais is a great addition to this AWESOME team! Dr. Yarbrough was our family dentist in college; was so glad to discover he’s in the same place now when we moved back to Austin. I’m low maintenance with dental care – having no significant dental problems. But there’s never much of a wait, and the hygienists and staff are top notch. My husband has had several fillings and crowns, and he says the work that Dr. Yarbrough has done has never caused him a problem or needed to be redone. If you want the best quality dental care from a team that treats you like a rock star, this is the place.

EVERYONE at his office is very nice (same people have been their forever- so you know it is a nice place to work). Everyone is very easy to talk to, they fit you in if you have an emergency, heck I can remember having a horrible toothache and calling th eoffice emergency line Dr. Yarbrough called me back and it was over a holiday break– he called in some pain medicine and fit me in for an appointment first thing the next morning. I can’t say enough good things about Westgate…they work with my ever revolving schedule and always manage to get me in ASAP when I need to be seen. Every staff member goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, and Dr. Yarbrough thoroughly explains your plan of care. Unfortunately my dental issues were so bad that I had to be seen multiple times throughout the pandemic, and I felt safe every single appointment. The staff does a fantastic job making sure everything is as sanitary as possible, and you constantly see them wiping down surfaces, changing gloves, etc. I drive 40 minutes to this office just for the insanely high levels of safety and patient care! Would 100% recommend, 5 stars all the way

I’ve been visiting Dr. Yarbrough for nearly 30 years. Even when I lived out of state, I would still keep my regular appointments with Dr. Y, because he’s just wonderful. The staff there are friendly and make a genuine effort to get to know you. Dr. Y is honest, lighthearted, and always goes above and beyond to not only provide you with excellent care – he has always tried to save me money – telling me honestly what he must do, and what he could hold off on doing if expense is a concern. I noticed a 2 star review here because someone’s insurance is out-of-network. My insurance has been out-of-network for 10 years with Dr. Y, and I still only pay $10-25 for my 2x yearly cleaning. Even though Dr. Y is out-of-network, his office still submits claims to my insurance provider (which isn’t required, but greatly appreciated). And, many dental insurances do provide significant out-of-network benefits (so visiting an out-of-network dentist is not as daunting as an out of network medical provider). Check your insurance benefits, and you will likely have no issue visiting Dr. Y. I’ve found his care to be compassionate, professional, fun (yes, fun), and very affordable!

You know how it goes – we sometimes take the ones we love for granted. No one likes dental work – sorry, Dr. Yarbrough. But you and your team have been there for us for years. You don’t have scary 1970s dental technology. You fix our teeth when they flare up out of the blue. You don’t lecture us even though we were addicted to soda and still don’t floss totally right. What a great staff. Everyone working at this office is genuinely very friendly, no fake smiles like I’ve experienced in other places. My appointment was with the hygienist (Melissa) and she did a great job. She has a sturdy hand and is obviously very experienced. At the end of my session I met Dr. Yardbrough who came in to do an exam (part of the cleaning cost, it’s routine for 1st time patients) . A real friendly doctor, very polite, and who took his time meeting me and speaking with me. usually dentists (in my experience at least) just come in and drill and then leave. A much different experience at this place. So all in all, I highly recommend it.
