The last time I saw an orthodontist I was in 7th grade. Now I’m 28 and–until recently–was walking around with the same permanent retainer I’ve had since then. The metal was starting to poke me, and one of the wires had come undone, so it was time for an upgrade. Dr. Tomblyn swiftly and painlessly removed my old retainer and took a mold of my teeth. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and put me at ease. It’s obvious that he is skilled, knowledgable, and passionate about his work. A few days later my new retainer was ready to go, and I look forward to maintaining my teeth sans decades-old metal. Bonus points for the beautiful office–especially the huge comfy couch and coffee bar in the waiting area.

What a fantastic practice! I had been seeing Dr. Zapalac, who previously owned the practice, for several years and loved him. When I found out about the transition I was a little skeptical…I don’t like change when I am already comfortable and I knew my son was very close to beginning treatment. Dr. Zapalac introduced me and my son to Dr. Travis Tomblyn and I was instantly reassured! Dr. Tomblyn is so kind and sweet. So great with my son. His assistants and office staff are just as great. Orthodontics can be scary for kids but they’re all so reassuring and comforting. They explain everything so my son knows what to expect so there is no apprehension. They take the time to listen to and address any questions we may have. I believe they all love what they do which makes all the difference in attitudes and level of care you receive. Office is well managed and very conscientious of scheduling appropriately for good time management

I have been extremely pleased with our outstanding experience at Westlake Family Ortho! The staff is warm, friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like a part of their “family”. Dr. Tomblin and his crew have been MORE than patient with my son’s lack of compliance in not wearing his bands. They are also a very punctual bunch. We rarely wait more than a few minutes in the waiting room-if that. I now have my two other kiddos in ortho with Dr. Tomblin. I would definitely recommend this practice!

Hard to believe but we have been patients at Westlake Family Orthodontics for over 5 years now and we have had nothing short of the best service! I agree with all the posts… our kids actually like coming to the orthodontist and that DOES say a lot! I came to Dr. Tomblyn by way of other happy patients, and we have been most happy with our experience! His staff is so kind and professional that my kids get excited to go there. They have games for kids and waters/coffee for mom; it’s the most peaceful 30 minutes of my month 🙂 Dr. Tomblyn is incredibly professional, smart and safety-oriented. I appreciate that he didn’t rush me to pull baby teeth to jumpstart, additionally, he has been semi-annually checking/reassessing my oldest and waiting for the right time rather than starting too early. He also notified me when we were unaware of an infected tooth that did have to go. I truly trust his judgment and advice. Even during COVID times, they have kept us feeling safe. And then today, my son got his braces off and his smile is straight and gorgeous! Thank you, Dr. Tomblyn and staff for providing top-notch service and for truly caring!

What a great experience. I may not love braces as an adult but they don’t show, people don’t notice them and there has been almost no discomfort. But the Staff and Dr. Tomblyn, well they are the best! Punctual, super nice, professional and really good at what they do. They could not be nicer to you! We absolutely love this place. Scott couldn’t be more helpful or kind. Connor, my 11- year old got his braces on about 4 months ago and we can already see such a difference. Dr. Tomblyn recommended the least invasive of treatments of any of orthodontist we visited. My son loves his visits and feels extremely comfortable in the office. Today, he left his punch card and Scott offered to hold onto it for us until the next visit. Such a warm, welcoming office.

If you’re looking for a perfect smile, schedule an appointment with Dr. Travis. He genuinely cares about making your new smile the best it can possibly be. The treatment was explained very thoroughly and I had a clear understanding afterwards. From the initial consultation two years ago to this unusual time given the virus environment we find ourselves in the staff has been helpful and extremely communicative. I stumbled upon Dr. Travis and Dr. Jen after calling the number of my childhood orthodontist, Dr. Zapalac. I found out the business had been bought by Travis and Jen and I decided to give them a try…I needed a nightguard…not rocket science. Wow! Dr. Travis blew me away with his expertise, kindness, and genuine care. Fast forward about a year and I took my oldest three children for a ortho check to see how things looked. All three kids saw him at least 3 times each for over a year and a half (while paying nothing) until he felt my third youngest needed treatment. The older two are still being monitored-“see you in 6 months” and the eldest (13) will be getting braces this winter. All that to say, he doesn’t have a set formula–it really is personalized and wanting the best for the kid/family both financially and developmentally. And then the rest of the staff…Scott responds to you in like 10 minutes via email and is so great and patient with questions/scheduling. The ortho techs (I’m sure they have a more professional name!) are SO knowledgeable. I can also tell that Dr. Travis treats them with so much respect because I like to observe that subtle interactions with a doctor and his staff. Having four kids and being a pediatric nurse, I’ve asked alot of questions regarding “early intervention” vs. “superfluous tinkering” vs. benefits of delaying treatment and he is grounded in his answers/methodology. I totally trust him. All in all, try them out. I think you find what you are looking for.

Wow! By far the most friendly and welcoming business I’ve ever encountered. Every single employee there always has a friendly smile with jokes and laughs. Every time I went back after my first visit just made me want to go back more and more. They are kind, caring, funny, lively, and just all around have a positive culture and energy. This is the kind of place you want your kids going to… I was in a tough situation having lost my retainer and they handled it so well I was amazed at how kind and understanding they were and how smoothly the process went. Not only is it an outstanding atmosphere to be a part of but the service is also extraordinary. They did my braces perfectly and really turned everything around. If I could give above a 5 star rating I would. Overall Westlake Family Orthodontics is filled with amazing people doing what they love extremely well. You can really tell when you walk into a business wether the employees get along with their boss and wether they work together or are unhappy, and from the moment you walk in here everyone is joyful and they love what they do. I called Westlake Family Orthodontics to get a new set of retainers as I lost mine years ago and noticed some shifting in my teeth. I was trying to find the orthodontist where I got my braces on, but couldn’t seem to and I’m so happy I called Westlake Family thinking it was them. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone be so kind and helpful to me over the phone just answering my many questions and hypotheticals. I had to get some veneers done before I was able to finish getting my retainers made, and they were so amazing at creating a schedule that fit around everything I needed done. I took my granddaughter for a consultation and examination and who would have guessed but she actually left with a full set of braces! I remember that feeling of dread I had knowing my kids had braces looming. We got recommendations from our pedi dentist to check a few orthodontists out. My daughter and I overwhelmingly liked WFO the best – and much to our surprise, they also turned out to have the best price (by a substantial amount). Dr. Tomblyn and his staff are so warm, friendly, and professional. They really go above and beyond to make their patients have both great care and a great experience. The office is cute, and it’s just a nice place to visit. I never seem to have to stay long though-they are so efficient with their scheduling. My daughter is now a year into braces, and I can honestly say, it has been no big deal. We went today, and my son had 2 baby teeth extracted today in preparation for braces eventually. Dr. Tomblyn didn’t even charge us for that procedure. And now, I don’t have to dread this whole process for my son- and he’s even looking forward to getting braces someday!

I was slightly nervous to see an orthodontist who doesn’t know my teeth like the one from back home but Dr. Travis made me feel comfortable and right at home! I came to Dr. Travis after my permanent retainer broke. My first visit, I had a tooth that was slightly kicked out and he suggested making a minor adjustment to my night retainer to push the tooth back in place before putting the permanent retainer back on. 1 month later, I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth again – fully straight! He went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. My second visit, he helped correct a slight awkward bite by shaving down the back of my teeth. No matter what you go in for, I’m certain Dr. Travis will take a holistic approach to your visit and orthodontic health. I will certainly refer him!

I highly recommend Westlake Family Orthodontics. I had Dr. T. Tomblyn and he was efficient but always took the time to explain what he was doing and why. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. I had Invisalign and I wasn’t always compliant with wearing them like I should but they never made me feel guilty. I love my teeth now and am very happy with my smile. The coolest thing is they have a candy wall so that after you get your braces off you get to fill up a cup of candy that’s off-limits while wearing your braces.
