10/10 would recommend Dr. Grella and his amazing staff! An accidental fall caused my upper two front teeth to be badly chipped and even with being a new patient they were able to get me in the day after I called! I went in for my consultation and they ended up fixing my teeth that day and did a fantastic job! They were very professional and aren’t in it for the money, they actually care about you and love what they do. If you’re looking for a dentist I would recommend Dr. Grella any day!!

I would give 10 stars if I could. I had a few fillings done with another dentist, and everything in my bite felt off the second I left. I went in for two adjustments, and still, nothing felt right. Enough was enough with that place, so I decided to call Dr. Grella’s office today in hopes he would be able to help. Kathryn answered the phone and was so pleasant. She told me the following Monday was the earliest available time, but she would call me if something opened up sooner. Two hours later, Kathryn does exactly what she promised. Called me and asked if I could come in today. Just this made me feel so confident that Dr. Grella’s office was the right choice. Thank you so much Kathryn. While filling out the paperwork, Dr. Grella came out to introduce himself, and already knew why I was there before I said anything. You don’t normally think “great customer service” with a dental office, but man….GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH THIS DENTAL OFFICE. I was brought back almost immediately, and Dr. Grella took his time and was patient in truly dissecting the issue. He looked over x-rays and explained where the problem might be. He then explained what he was going to do before he did it. After a few adjustments, my bite feels so much better now than it did before I went in. To top it all off, he didn’t even charge me for his time today. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t have a miserable weekend. I honestly can’t say enough about what a tremendous office Dr. Grella runs. I booked my next follow up with his office and immediately canceled all future appointments at the other dental office. I wish I would have given this office my business in the first place. Dr. Grella is the BEST!!! Dr Will is thorough and thoughtful, and his years of experience in the Navy have made him incredibly efficient. He has a ton of extra knowledge… for example, I’ve had numbing shots in the past, but he is the first to use his “grandfather’s knack” of wiggling the cheek so that I barely noticed the needle! The staff worked with me to get me in ASAP when an old crown fell out last week… I’m very pleased with the entire office.

Amazing service and staff! I don’t usually enjoy dentist visits because I have never felt included in the thought process or conversation. This place is different. Seriously the best dentist & dental team anyone could ask for! (And I don’t say that lightly.) TIME: Just wanted to add that Dr Grella actually offers flexible hours and alternative appointment times, which is a big reason I love this office. (Yelp doesn’t allow him to add this option, for some reason.) If you need an early 7 AM appointment before work, or a Saturday visit, they will accommodate you! You just have to call and schedule it. How amazing is that? I don’t think any other office I know of is so understanding of everyone’s various schedules. PATIENT COMES FIRST: Doctors say this but so few truly practice it, in my experience. Before seeing Dr Grella, two other dentists told me I would need a crown due to a crack in an old back molar filling. I got crown quotes from both of them and was feeling pretty miserable about the impending cost. Then a friend recommended seeing Dr Grella for a final opinion and I went. Dr Grella immediately went to work — no nonsense or dawdling, but still explaining his observations and reasoning every step of the way. (I asked *a lot* of questions about various types of crowns, even 3D printed crowns, and he always answered thoughtfully — never seemed bothered or annoyed by it.) While observing the crack in my back molar filling, he noticed that most of the tooth structure seemed to be intact. After drilling and cleaning out the old cracked filling, he verified that he was right about the tooth structure. Turns out I didn’t need a crown at all — just a new filling! He said nothing beats the original tooth; if it can be saved, it should. QUALITY: Michelle is the best hygienist I’ve ever had. She keeps comfort in mind (glasses to block splashes and numbing gel upon request), but doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to deep cleaning. I’m the type who doesn’t want a gentle cleaning, because that means not everything is getting dug up and scraped off. When Michelle is done, I can even feel how clean my gum pockets are. FRONT DESK: Kathy is incredibly nice and clearly makes customer service her priority. My dental appointments here rarely run late, but whenever they do, Kathy is apologetic and tries to get me in as soon as possible. LOCATION & PARKING: Note that Dr Grella’s office is on the second floor (external stairs), first door ahead. Street parking is available.

Old crown came off-Dr. Grella (and staff) to the rescue! Examined tooth base and suspected some decay(!) So had x-Ray taken w/o crown; yep decay! Temporarily cemented old crown on and I came back NEXT DAY to clean and prep for new crown. Now waiting on the lab to make the crown. I like this dental practice for a number of reasons. 1) They have a sense of urgency when urgency is called for. Katherine was persistent in getting me an appointment to have the prep work done. She had already put in an insurance claim to reduce my expense as much as possible. 2) Sophia, Dr.G’s assistant, personable and works to make you comfortable. 3) Dr.G explains what he is doing and WHY. 4) Dr. G is current on dental technology, the research on the newest/latest dental materials and techniques. He takes ongoing professional training. I have had dental issues for more than 60 years with 10 different dentists. Dr. Grella is the best of them.

I am so glad to have found Dr. William Grella and his great staff. I have had multiple cleanings as a patient and Dr Grella introduced me to a mouth guard to assist me with my sleep apnea. Thanks to Dr Grella, my wife doesn’t wake me up for snoring too loud at night and I’m getting more restful sleep. All have been comfortable, painless procedures with the utmost care. Not only is Dr. Grella a pleasant person, he is a great dentist. In addition, the staff at the office are friendly, accommodating and always willing to help with tough billing questions or scheduling. If you like A+ customer service then you will like this staff. I am a new patient in the past 6 months. Was very pleased with ability to be seen as needed based upon type of service ie broken tooth vs routine cleaning. Like the way he describes what he’s doing and why each step of the way through a visit. My wife was particularly impressed when he called about dinner time to make sure I was ok after the first visit to fix a broken tooth with a crown. Of course, I was fine as I was out to an event. The temporary work was terrific and he was able to work around a couple of scheduling issues for the follow up meeting. Having been in the military I’m inclined, when possible, to use someone with that background and training. Will is a Navy trained dentist and does a great job. His office communicated with my previous dentist to get records very well and his charges seem reasonable for the services. Highly recommend him and his staff.

Going to a new dentist can be scary. Recently my dentist has decided to enjoy retirement but his Dentistry was acquired by Dr. Will Grella. His staff has always been amazing and I did not want to lose them, so I thought I would give him a try. My first meeting with him could not have gone better. He took the time to get to know me and have a conversation before going to work 🙂 He and his team are extremely gentle (IMPORTANT), professional, and helpful. This is the best dentist, and team I’ve experienced in my 60 years. He found a problem with a crown that a nameless dentist installed, it was so bad that I had to remove the tooth. The new crown is in now, and it’s so comfortable and perfect that I’m not doing the crazy thing when my tongue is constantly exploring a dramatic change in my mouth. He even felt compelled to give me a break for the cost, he was embarrassed for the dentist that caused the problem (believe it or not, he found the other guy used a fiberglass post which eventually broke the tooth). I am so glad to have been referred to him, and I can happily state that you won’t find anyone that comes close as far as skill, training, integrity and even humor. The staff are all long time employees and even though we are in tough times with Covid 19 you can be confident that you are in capable hands. He recently expanded his practice in a time when some are struggling, I am so happy that more people will now be able to get expert care from a conscientious Doctor. Way to go Doc! Also a shout out to los Alamitos oral surgery center that did the extraction and implant to support the new crown. I never felt a thing except relief.

Just like you all .. I yelped the “Best dentist” in Long Beach and Dr. Grella popped up! He was awesome when I met him, UCLA grad, and actually does yourDental exam unlike most Dentist who just check your teeth for 2 min. He was so sweet and really cared about my Medical history and myself as a first time client! The two Ladies at the front desk were amazing and Kathy helped me set everything up! I had a newer hygentist, Jaqueline, and she made me feel so comfortable, and if I needed to take a break she would do so. BEST PART – FREE- teeth whitening if you check in on fcbk and I’m so excited to use it! Also, I had a filling on a SATURDAY !!!! The office staff is accommodating, knowledgeable, friendly, and competent. Even though today was my first visit, I am delighted! My previous dentist did not accept Delta Dental Insurance and was always a hassle to get reimbursed from my insurance, not to mention the outrageous prices he is (was) charging. Dr. Grella’s office team is a well-oiled machine and works with you to get the best outcome. I will add more details as time goes on, but for the moment, a well deserved five stars. Given only today, I can 100% recommend this office who is looking for a new dentist in the LGB area. Literally the best dentist I’ve ever been to. I recently became a patient of Dr. Grella and I joke that the cleaning was so good I haven’t had to brush or floss ever since! But seriously, though it was a regular cleaning, it felt like a deep cleaning because he is so meticulous and thorough, more focused on quality experience than getting you out as fast possible to see the next patient. He is also very friendly and full of stories and interesting conversation. I admire that he was a dentist in the Navy and is in the reserves, taking care of the folks who put their lives on the line for all of us. I recommend Dr. Grella to everyone in Long Beach and the surrounding area who can drive out to his office. I recently moved from Long Beach to Aliso Viejo and still drive out to Dr. Grella because once you found “the dentist”, it’s worth the drive.

I was thoroughly impressed and very pleased with my first time here. This is hands down one of the best dental experiences that I’ve had in my life. It was incredibly easy to schedule an appointment for a check up and cleaning. I was unaware that their office would be closed for two weeks due to the holiday seasons. The first day they opened was the only day I was available to come in. I was very happy that they were able to offer me a same day appointment due to some cancellations on the first day they were back in business. I spoke with Kathryn over the phone and she was super kind and welcoming. When I arrived, I was mainly taken care of by dental hygienist Michelle. She was warm, friendly and patient. She did a very thorough and detailed exam and assessment of my teeth and gave me a lot of helpful patient education and teaching on how to keep my teeth clean. She spent a good amount of time doing a cleaning and recommended that I come back for further treatment. I appreciated her attention to detail and willingness to address my questions and concerns. Dr. Grella was also very warm and friendly as well. He was quick and efficient but did not leave room for anything to be missed. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit here and will definitely be coming back! I’m so glad that my friend had recommended me to come here. I have no hesitations in recommending this place for anyone else who is looking for a great dental practice with exceptional service!
