Probably the best dentist I’ve ever had. Super friendly, trusted service. Great staff, who call to confirm all appointments, which is awesome for someone as busy as I am. Love Mel! She is really friendly and nice, plus a straight shooter that tells you all options for any procedure. I trust her good dental work, and also importantly for a reasonable cost – in the past she quoted me a much better cost for cavity that another dentist told me I had…but that dentist was not good and when we did the check up, my teeth were fine! I’m sold. It’s a quick and easy process always, and she is always fair and trustworthy.

I really enjoy going to Wilshire Dental to see Dr. Schlang. She’s always really friendly and make me feel comfortable, even during the super fun deep cleaning moments. I trust her and am so glad I happened upon her as my dentist. Anther thing I love about her and her staff is they will call and confirm your insurance coverage and quote you on any procedures before they start the work. I love that I don’t have to ask and I’m never surprised w a huge bill at the end, which sadly has happened at other dental offices for me in the past.

A WARM & FRIENDLY environment!  From Doreen at the front desk to Angelina, The best dental hygienist ever!  Then meeting Dr. Melanie Schlang who is a very SMART & CARING dentist! The prices are amazing and AFFORDABLE too!   Trust me I’ve checked everywhere because I do not have dental insurance.  Now I can have everything done that I need to do at a great price and with great care!    5 stars plus!

I transferred to this dental office 2 years ago when my old dentist retired, and so far I’ve been pretty happy with their services. Office staff is amazing, their dental technicians are super friendly and always make sure my cleanings are pain free. Saturday appointments work great for my work schedule too..I honestly can’t think of anything bad to say about this place. They call me every time I’m due for a follow-up, and I truly appreciate their care.

I’ve been going to this office for few years now, and so far had a very pleasant experience. Never had to wait in reception for more than 10 mins, and that really works for my busy schedule. I had tons of dental work done at this place, as they worked out with my insurance to replace my ugly silver filling for the nice cosmetic ones. The dentist always takes her time to answer my questions and makes sure that all my visits are painless. I referred bunch of my friends and family to this dental office and strongly recommend this place to all Yelpers!

This place recently saved me! I recently went to a different dentist for an annual check up, and they told me I had 5 cavities. Not only that, but they tried to tack on $129 in additional fees per cavity (in addition to each filling). Due to how expensive it was, I decided to get a second opinion. The dentist at Wilshire Dental was that second opinion, and she said I have zero cavities! Finally, an honest dentist in Los Angeles. I will definitely be going back and recommending this place to my friends. The staff/reception were all lovely as well!

Dr. Melanie was recommended from a colleague of mine and I must say that I am very happy at this office. The entire staff is very kind and helpful. Argie is an absolute joy to talk to. Doreen is very helpful when it comes to understanding what will be covered by insurance. Jasmine is very kind as well! Dr. Melanie is awesome and will tell you exactly what is going on with your teeth. I had one dentist tell me that I needed to get my wisdom teeth pulled and that was the only information I received. I decided to get an opinion from Dr. Melanie and she told me exactly what would happen if I chose not to take them out, etc. She made me feel comfortable and basically understand the entire situation. I eventually got them removed by Dr. Elliott Schlang and he was great. The surgery was as fast and smooth as it can get. Overall, I feel very well taken care of at this office!!

Dr. Melanie is AMAZING!!! She took such great care of me and my teeth. Let me say this, “I’m scared of any and every needle!” I didn’t even feel the shot! Dr. Melanie does amazing work and she’ll definitely fix whatever’s going on in your mouth. I haven’t been to the dentist in about a year and I’m glad I’m back. I used to come to Wilshire Dental 10 years ago with Dr. Rotjman and followed him to village dental in Westwood, but found my way back here in Santa Monica. Doreen is also AMAZING! I’ve known Doreen forever, she’s been taking care of me and my billing needs since I was a minor coming in with my Mom to see with Dr. Rotjman. I come to Wilshire Dental knowing everybody here is going to take great care of me and my teeth!

Needed a new dentist and Dr Melanie Schlang came highly recommended, and for good reason. I did not have to wait long at all to be seen. They took X-rays and I had a cleaning done. The gentleman that took the X-rays and did my cleaning was Eudy; he was sweet and gentle when he was cleaning my teeth (we have all had those dentists that are so rough when they clean). Dr. Melanie Schlang  examined my X-rays and made sure to address all my concerns before Eudy did my cleaning. This dentist office was way more affordable compared to my last. Excited I was able to find a dentist I like. I also was reading some of the negative reviews below and I just wanted to mention that they did not try to “upsell” me on anything. I inquired about teeth whitening and Dr Melanie went over the different options I could do and then Doreen at the front desk went over the pricing. I did not feel at all pressured, I walked away knowing all my options if I did want to do the whitening in the future. Overall friendly, clean, quick and attentive service!

Wilshire dental is quite the upgrade from prior dental offices I’ve been too. Dr. Melanie, Argie (hygienist), and Doreen are all extremely nice and helpful leaving me question free after every visit. Scheduling is easy and flexible. You won’t have any surprise bills with Doreen as she will make sure you know how much you can expect to pay for cleaning and procedures ahead of time. I would highly recommend Wilshire Dental to anyone new to the area or looking to switch dentists!

I absolutely ADORE Dr Schlang!! She and her staff go above and beyond to make their clients comfortable and provide the best experience possible! I have referred her now to at least three or four of my friends and our family will never (really NEVER) go anywhere else! Thank you so much!!

I had NEVER written a Yelp review before, about anything, much less a Dentist and I say this because what you are about to read, you may feel is over the top and hyperbole, however, it’s only a scratch of the surface of how I truly feel about Dr. Melanie Schlang and Wilshire Dental in Santa Monica. That being said, here goes: Dr. Mel, as her patients call her, is my Dentist, I like saying that. And that’s because she is without question, one of the most knowledgeable, brilliant, kind, compassionate and genuinely nicest people I’ve ever met, period. I found her using Yelp and read some great reviews and wanted to see for myself, as I tend to not necessarily believe everything I read. 🙂 So I thought I would give them and call and see if Dr. Mel and her staff were half as good as what I had read and heard about them. Btw, the reason I was looking for a dentist was I had some extremely challenging and costly dental issues that I had to have taken care of immediately and I waned to have a combination of someone who was financially reasonable and also masterful as a Dentist. So I called Dr. Mel’s office on a Thursday and from that initial call, and every step of the way since then; from contacting her office, to interacting with her staff, to them making the time for me in Dr Mel’s busy, but not too busy schedule, to having her work on my teeth, every interaction was an amazingly joyful experience. I have rarely said that about many people much less about a Dentist, and truth be told, that’s an understatement! Dr Mel’s staff were all kind, thoughtful, personable and really good at their respective jobs. And I am in Awe of Dr. Mel’s thorough, thoughtful, caring and extraordinary level of skill as a Dentist, which is really a misnomer. She’s more like an artist who just happens to apply her talents and skills to Dentistry. And No, I’m not getting paid to write this, nor am I related to Dr. Mel or her staff at Wilshire Dental in Santa Monica, in case you were wondering! This is Fantastic Place to go for whatever your dental needs may be. And if Dr. Mel needs to refer you to a specialist, which she did with me, you can rest assured that that dentist, as was definitely true in my case, is also an extremely talented and caring individual. There really aren’t enough Empowering, Powerful and Authentically Compelling adjectives I can use to describe, Dr. Mel, simply know this truth, that if you truly care about your teeth and or know others that do, let them know about Dr Mel and Wilshire Dental. LOVE my pearly whites!!! I’m always amazed when I get compliments on my teeth, which happens a lot, and then I smile even bigger! I have to attribute my smile to this amazing team. Dr. Melanie is welcoming and warm. She is informative but doesn’t shame you for not flossing. I’ve had emergency’s and they scoot me right in. Like the time I broke a tooth eating Grape Nuts and they fixed it the same day!!  I’ve also done zoom whitening and cleanings. This is my go-to, one-stop shop for all things dental! I HIGHLY recommend this amazing dental team!

Great service, I have been coming here since I was 12. Followed them all the way from Westwood onto their new location in Santa Monica. The staff is nice especially Doreen. You won’t be disappointed. They have flexible times, which I need, I have the options of coming in early morning Saturdays or late afternoon on a Saturday which is convenient. Melanie Schlang DDS all the way!

I found this practice 18 months ago and the staff is friendly, professional staring at the front desk, to Argie, the hygienist who is helpful kind and well informed. The dentists I know are Dr. Schlang who took over the practice of her father and Dr. Roz who have been very effective , informed and quick in their assessments and therapeutic plans. I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a dentist with that Mom and Pop feeling. Thank you!

Dr. Schlang’s Wilshire Dental practice is a polished, polite, and professional dental operation that I have been very pleased with.  I have been coming to Dr. Schlang’s office for over 5 years and have had nothing but wonderful visits and results.  Wilshire Dental is staffed with friendly, excellent dental professionals and the office runs smoothly. I recently had to schedule an emergency visit with Dr. Schlang due to immense tooth pain and she was able to see me within a few hours.  They followed up extensively with me and were able to guide me through a major dental crisis.  I am very grateful for the fantastic dental service of Wilshire Dental!

I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Melanie at my work’s Health Fair recently. I wasn’t in the search for a new dentist, but the more I talked to her I was down to give her a shot. I was able to make an appointment for a Saturday morning very easily. The lady who I spoke to over the phone was super friendly, and she even told me that you can request an appointment time via their website. I also asked her how parking was around the office, and she said there is ample street parking on the side streets for two hours, as well as meters on Wilshire. The Santa Monica location of Wilshire Dental is clean, bright, and open. You can easily spot it from the street. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the front desk. Not too long after, Dr. Melanie came out to greet me and actually remembered my name! That was a pleasant surprise. I went in because I wanted to know more about Invisalign. It’s something I inquired about couple years ago, but never got around to committing. Wanting a reminder on the process, Dr. Melanie gave me a refresher and was very honest about what my treatment would be like. She never once pushed it on me, and told me I could contact her anytime for any questions/ concerns. On my way out, I was able to quickly observe a patient getting a cleaning. It looks like they have the equipment to do digital x-rays that shoots right onto a TV/computer screen in front of you. Also, I saw them using some kind of camera device that can show the patient his/her teeth, up close and personal. Pretty cool! Overall, I had a great experience with Dr. Melanie and her staff from start to finish. Highly recommend giving her practice a shot if you’re looking for a local dentist. I know the other Yelp reviews are discouraging, but I assure you my experience was anything but that.

Dr. Mel is a rare breed!  Before going to Wilshire Dental, I would see the actual dentist for about 1-2 minutes during each appointment and spent the other hour with hygienists and assistants.  I remember their names, but not the doctor’s! That’s only one reason why Dr. Mel is different – she spends almost your entire appointment with you. She’s extremely thorough but doesn’t dumb anything down – it’s so unusual to get this type of patient care! She uses what would seem to be the latest technology to ensure that patients (especially clueless ones like me) can SEE the problems – her intra-oral camera shows you clear pictures of the conditions of your teeth. I had my wisdom teeth taking out by Dr. Mel and while it wasn’t a fun experience, it wasn’t nearly as painful as I would have expected. It’s crazy to say, but I actually LIKE going to the dentist now. Trust me, you’ll find a lifelong dentist in Dr. Mel just like I did.  Can’t recommend her enough!

I used to take my family here when living in Santa Monica. Our first experience with Wilshire Dental was out of desperation for a second opinion. I had a chipped tooth on a back molar and was told I needed a $1,000 root canal by my dentist at the time. I decided to visit Wilshire Dental for a second opinion. Dr. Melanie was able give a indirect pulp cap. I am not a dentist, so I have no clue what that meant but I do know it saved me over $900 and I still do not have any issues. This was several years ago and whenever my family is in the California area our kids get their teeth cleaned. I can’t believe I would ever say we miss a DENTIST but we do.

I have been coming to Wilshire Dental for over 6 months now and I’m glad I’ve made the switch over here. Everyone in the office is always so welcoming and I especially love that the office is open on Saturdays.  It’s very convenient when you work a 9-5 Monday through Friday. The dentist is also very informative about the treatment you will be getting and they do a great good. I highly recommend coming here!
