I have to second the motion that Dr. Hanko is the most gentle, accommodating dentist I’ve ever been to. I hate going for a filling and having my face numb for the rest of the day, so she uses a special anesthetic on me that wears off just about the time I’m leaving the office. Sometimes she is able to numb just the single tooth or area that she’s going to work on. It’s great. I have been seeing her for many years now, and since I became chronically ill, she has been very empathetic, accommodating to my needs, and really goes the extra mile to make it possible for me to keep up with my dental care even though it’s difficult for me to leave the house. (No, she doesn’t make house calls, darn). I have never been particularly anxious about seeing a dentist but that is especially true of her and all her staff. I love Dr. Hanko! So relaxing!

Dr. Hanko is more than “five-star” awesome! She is a wonderful partner to me in my dental care! For over 12 years, I have been fortunate to be one of her patients – to have her knowledge, skill, and concern focused on helping me. At one time, I dreaded the thought of seeing a dentist. Dr. Hanko has changed all of that for me. She takes time to clearly explain her treatment recommendations; she takes time to carefully describe each aspect of a procedure before she begins it; she takes time to monitor and address her patient’s comfort. I trust her professional care and never feel over-treated or over-charged. Whether it is a filling or a crown or routine check-up, I always feel that I am receiving care that is personalized – not a cookie-cutter, assembly-line approach. Linda, Debbie, and Dr. Hanko’s other staff members are courteous and professional. I don’t hesitate to phone her office, for I know her staff will respond to my needs and show genuine concern. The office suite itself is warm and friendly – just like the people there. Lots of smiles and kind words are present. The other day, I was very upset about chipping a front tooth . . . and my husband responded: “Relax . . . we have the best dentist ever!” Yes, I once dreaded the thought of seeing a dentist. But, Dr. Hanko has changed all of that for me. I have the highest admiration for her understanding of dental problems and her competence in delivering the care needed to address them.

So a little background on me, I have awful teeth from years of medical issues and I am also by nature TERRIFIED (generally beyond consoling) of the dentist. Any dentist. The smells of the office, the pain, the condescending remarks about my teeth, the anxiety about where the money will come from. Anything and everything about even considering visiting a dentist makes me want to take a double dose of xanax. After visiting a few dentist with no such luck in the past 2 years I asked my doctor who I trust immensely if he had any recommendations and he gave me Dr. Zora Hanko’s name/number. It took me a few days to finally call but when I did I was surprised that i was almost immediately put at ease by the incredibly kind receptionist. I briefly told her my concerns and the level of anxiety I generally have and she actually listened, took note and genuinely seemed to care. This morning I woke up 4 hours before my appointment due to an already increased build up of anxiety. It turns out none of this anxiety was necessary. After sitting in the waiting room for only about 5 minutes I was brought back to the exam room by the dental hygienist. I can not remember her name but she was so sweet and kind. Then Dr. Hanko came in and since she knew how anxious I was, instead of getting straight to work she sat down next to the chair and asked me to tell her about my self, what my concerns with my teeth are and what she could do to make my appointments easier. When I was giving her my information she listened, asked questions when necessary and not once made me feel judged. Then she asked if she could take a look in my mouth. Part way through her examining my teeth I realized for the first time ever I was sitting in a dentist chair and NOT shaking with anxiety. I left the appointment with a plan of action for my crazy teeth, another appointment and absolutely no anxiety in sight. Best. Feeling. Ever.

I have been going to Dr. Hanko for many many years.  She is one of the nicest and kindest people you’ll meet.  She is a wonderful Dentist, very compassionate, and always listens to what YOU (the patient) wants.  She is no longer in my health plan, but I continue to go to her regardless, as I will NOT allow my insurance to dictate who will provide service to me.  Her staff, from the receptionist, to her hygeniest’s and tech are also super nice and very personable as well as very well qualified at what they do.  Look no further, this is the dental office you have been looking for !

Holy Hay I can’t say enough about Dr Hanko! She is by far the best dentist I have ever been to!! She is SO nice and sweet. She is very gentle and makes you feel comfortable while you are there. My favorite thing about her is that she always tells you ALL your options and never tries to push anything on you. She makes sure that you know the financial implications of every procedure and its just such a relief to know that shes on your side. She submits paperwork to my insurance for preapproval and that way I can have a quote on what they will pay. I know its just going to the dentist but I LOVE her! Don’t hesitate to go see her!

My husband, sister, brother-in-law and myself all go to Dr. Hanko for years.  I am not afraid of a dentist but my husband can’t stand to go to the dentist, especially the teeth cleaning part.  He thinks Dr. Hanko and her dental hygenist, Diane, are the greatest.  They are very tender with him and he is comfortable going every 6 months.  Hard to find a great dentist – Dr. Hanko is tops!
