Just moved to San Diego and got a great deal with Groupon with academy dental. Excellent and friendly staff. Knowledgable and patient doctor willing to talk with you about any questions you may have to help understand your dental profile. My checkup went great so I only needed a cleaning but I have had the worst time with the new high vibration scalers. My last experience at my former dentist was horrible and I had to ask them to go to the manual scaling. Not so here. Bree was my hygienist and I have to say she was the best hygienist I’ve ever had clean my teeth. She was fast, efficient, and conscientious of my past experience and made it a great experience. It was obvious that she is a master in her craft. I will be returning here in 6 months. Thank you to Academy Dental!

I visited this dentistry for the first time today, as I had purchased a Groupon for a teeth whitening. It was an amazing experience. Susie assisted me with the whitening – which was a very simple and painless experience. It was smooth “like butta”. She was attentive in making sure I was comfortable and entertained (she grabbed headphones and a tablet to keep me busy while we had to wait for the bleach to set). Typically, Monday’s are known to be awful. This is especially true when you can’t drink coffee (the only downside to getting your teeth whitened). The combo of: going back to work after a relaxing weekend, a lack of caffeine, and being at the dentist – that usually calls for a bad morning. But Susie’s wonderful sense of humor and wit made this Monday morning much better. And my teeth look great!  I can guarantee I’ll be back in the future.

I can’t say enough great things about this place. The staff is amazing! DDS Belderes is one of a kind! I have never had a dental experience that I can honestly say I felt like they had my best interest at heart. Suzy goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. I highly recommend them!

How pleasant! I hate going to the dentist, but I love this one! Dr. Belderes and her experienced staff made me feel welcome, comfortable, and earned my trust. That is no easy accomplishment with this perfection seeker! Sarah’s high attention to detail and time taken to explain each step of procedures made me so happy!

Listen… I didn’t feel a damn thing!  That’s a quote I kept on saying while sitting in the chair with Dr. Belderes.  She’s gentle and talks you through every movement she makes.  I was referred to Dr. Belderes from a oral surgeon who did two implants for me. Afterwards I needed to find someone to do the crowns and abutments.  I called several offices for quotes but when I called Dr. Belderes office she happened to pick up the phone. (Yeah I know!  extra points for that!!)  She made me feel so comfortable before even seeing her.  I made the appointment right away and I swear… I didn’t feel a damn thing! Her staff is just a friendly and Suzie, yes you take second prize for putting patients at ease and comforting them from being tense. Thank you again Dr. Belderes.. You’re the Best….

I did not think it was possible to be histerically laughing while having your wisdom teeth pulled but I was wrong! Dr. Belderes made that possible. This was by far the best interaction I have ever had with any dentist. Completely professional and fun at the same time. I would trust her work 10 out of 10 times on anyone I hold close to my heart!

I first heard of Sarah and this practice through a Groupon for whitening.  That process was very effective and they made sure to I was satisfied with the result.  I returned about a year later for 2 fillings and a tooth cleaning.  The attention to the customer is terrific, something I have found rare in the field of medicine.  There was absolutely zero wait and Dr. Belderes and Shelly made me feel comortable throughout the what is typically an extremely stressful process. In addition to the strong customer experience, the quality of dentistry is very high, I didn’t even feel the anesthetic, and the the cavatiies were drilled and filled quickly with zero pain. I strongly recommend Dr. Sarah and the entire team!

I never thought I would actually enjoy a visit to the dentist until visiting Dr. Belderes & Shelley at Academy Dental. Upon moving to San Diego I’ve had all of my major dental work done by them (from emergency tooth chip repairs to fillings) and have been so impressed by the warm and friendly welcome and service that you receive when you walk in the door, the quality of work, and the unbeatable price each visit. After having horrible experiences at previous dental facilities it was refreshing to have Academy Dental in the neighborhood to aid my dental needs . Dr. Sarah Belderes was not only professional, but charming and honest. I didn’t feel as though I went to get an oil change and the mechanic tried to sell me tires, filters, a new windshield etc instead of just fixing what was needed. She offered several options and was very knowledgeable and thorough with each of them. I am in good hands and will continue to go to Dr Belderes solely for any future work.
