My 4 year old was really nervous but Dr. Chu and staff were able to make him feel at ease during the cleaning. The office is clean, the ladies up front are really nice and friendly too. Dr. Chu and the staff have made the office fun. The tvs above the head really helped too, Lego Movie was on (that’s my sons favorite movie!). Definitely recommend Dr. Chu to all my friends, heard of her through other moms at my child’s preschool.

Excellent experience today. Due to COVID, the office has taken great precautions – plexiglass barriers to the office staff, masks and PPE for the dental staff, changable covers on the lights, all patients wear masks and were spaced out in the waiting area. Very impressed. Felt very comfortable. My son had his braces removed and all went well. Thanks again!!

Our son broke his front tooth in half – literally in half. A really bad break. Dr. Chu and her staff made what could have been a really difficult experience very tolerable with kindness, patience, and professionalism. His tooth looks good as new. Both my son and daughter see Dr. Chu. I have never seen children more excited about going to the dentist. Both of my children started to see Dr. Chu at 1 for a well baby check and to get them used to seeing the dentist. The staff is wonderful, the kids love the TV’s on the ceilings to keep them occupied while they are being worked on in the dental chairs. My daughter has needed some fillings and a tooth pulled without any difficulties.Dr. Chu has made my kids very happy and tear free. I highly recommend this office to all my friends.

If your looking for a dentist for your kid, look no further. Great place for your kids. Not like other dentist who try and use straight jackets to do the procedures. I walked out on a dentist office trying to do that to my son about 4 years back. Then I got recommended from a family friend to Dr. Beanca Chu. It’s a drive I had closer options but we’ll worth it. I will bring my son here for as long as I can. Super friendly staff all around. Satisfaction guaranteed.

I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with both Dr. Chu and her office. My youngest son has had a series of unfortunate events that have led to the two front teeth being extracted at ages 1 and 3. With the second extraction he did not even know it happened until he was on the way home in the car! Needless to say, I was traumatized by both accidents to his teeth and felt horrible, but Dr. Chu and her staff were so calming that I was able to get through both and my son was never the wiser! YOU WILL BE IN GOOD HANDS….

If you have come across Dr. Chu, consider yourself very blessed! Look no further, make an appointment and you will walk out a very happy parent! If you’d like details of a once worried mother of a child with cavities read on…————-My daughter (now 4) had cavities since she was 2.5. Despite the frequent brushing and limited sugar/starchy snacks diet. I went to 4 different pediatric dentists and consulted with several others, all which either wanted to strap her down and get the job done, or fully sedate with general anesthesia. Both I was firmly against. I knew that if the right dentist came along who was patient and comforting enough, my daughter would cooperate and be one of the their best patients. I prayed and prayed for that demist to come along, and finally the light came.A family dentist suggested I look into LASER to fix cavities. I quickly googled pediatric laser dentistry and Dr. Chu popped up. She was a 70 mile (round trip) drive for me, but totally worth it!I spoke with LISA to make an appointment and she ever so comforting. I felt like I was talking to a friend for a good 30 minutes. I was at that point just so frustrated, and she put all my worries at ease. *First appointment*, my daughter was a little nervous but Dr. Chu allowed me to remain with her the entire time, holding her until she received some laughing gas. Previous dentists kept telling me that it wasn’t going to do anything, and boy were they wrong! It helps a lot. Her assistant VERONICA was a Godsend! She was so kind, gentle and encouraging, and really raised both of our spirits during the entire procedure.Dr. Chu didn’t retake xrays like most dentists pressure you to do (despite already having them!). She fixed 2 cavities with laser, and it was so quick and simple I couldn’t believe it.No pain, shots, or numbing. My daughter walked out as if nothing happened and came back later that day to do cleaning happily without a fuss (something that was impossible to previously do). My girl’s heart was finally at ease, and I knew that I had found my forever dentist!*Second appointment*, Dr. Chu fixed two more, also with laser. *Third and last appointment* was the most nerve wrecking, we were to do 2 pulpotomies. This couldn’t be done with laser, but it was also surprisingly easy. My daughter didn’t flinch at the shots, but was only uncomfortable for a couple of hours later due to the numbing. Soon after she was back to normal, and I didn’t have to give her anything for pain. Dr. CHU: Thank you for being such a kind-hearted and skilled dentist! You truly do whats in the best interest of the child, and that is so hard to find these days.You are so talented!VERONICA: Thank you for being so kind and comforting, you held my daughter’s hand and comforted her as I would! You know your neighborhood dentist is doing everything right when your 4-year-old is EXCITED about her upcoming dental appointment! We have seen Dr. Chu and her staff three times now, and each visit is a delight for my toddler. The staff is so friendly, the office is so kid-focused, and Dr. Chu is so gentle. The best part? They are HONEST. No up-sells and no telling you to submit your child to procedures they don’t yet need. I was worried about how my daughter would handle the x-rays, because I remember them being so painful with my old dentist. I don’t know what magic they do, but my toddler took those x-rays like a champ! When everything is done, they give her a goodie bag and invite her to pick a prize (her favorite part). Dr. Chu has really made children dentistry enter the 21st century. Her equipment is start of the art, her facility is spotless, and the staff are very caring! My personal experiences with dentists has brought on tons of adult anxiety and I was really afraid for my son. Dr. Chu and her staff has made going to the dentist fun. As a mother of three I’ve been around the block with a few dentists, and as an RN I am very picky about the care, cleanliness, and knowledge of the staff. I am honored to write an excellent review about Beanca Chu and her staff. My children ENJOY going to the dentist, I love to chit chat with the staff, and I appreciate each time Dr. Chu comes and speaks with me after each appointment. She takes my insurance and I’ve never had any billing issues. The previous Yelper wrote about Dr. Chu being expensive…ALL medical care is expensive. If you don’t have insurance or the money to cover the treatment I know Dr. Chu would work out a payment plan. She trully cares about her patients and is a family woman herself. I really can’t say enough good things about this office. The girls upfront are warm and welcoming, Dr. Chu is amazingly kind and gentle, and the nurses are just outstanding! We absolutely love Heidi, she is so sweet and caring. We have never had to wait more than a few minutes for the nurse to call our name. My daughter has Down syndrome and has been going to Dr. Chu since she was 1. The technicians are so understanding and accommodating for her eccentricities and my daughter has become more and more comfortable attending her cleaning and allowing them to work on her teeth. My son loves the ladies there, and especially loves getting a prize at the end of session. They are on time, efficient, and a great team. You can tell the office is a great place to work, since it’s like watching a ballet, they just know what to do and when to do it. I’m very impressed with Dr. Chu and her staff. My 3 girls have been coming here since my oldest, now 14 was 2! The front desk staff is amazing, (Lisa you rock!!), all the gals in the back are wonderful, we’ve probably seen them ALL! They are very perceptive when one of my girls is a bit apprehensive and worried, super sweet and kind! I’ve never seen them be rough or rude despite really frightened and crying new patients, they have a million tricks up their sleeves to get your kiddos comfy! Dr. Beanca is sweet and kind, talks to me as the mommy every visit! There are benches for me to be back with my kiddo who needs me. TV screens on the ceiling. Dr. Shawn (sp) the orthodontist who shares the office on Fridays and Saturdays is also wonderful! I feel like he totally gets the cost and is willing to work with you for braces and is not trying to over charge or rush you into it! My one complaint: NO WIFI FOR ME AS I SIT AND WAIT FOR MY KIDDOS! I brought my computer today and have tons of work to get done and would have loved to get some done! Instead I’ll leave this review!

My girls have been coming here since they were 6 mouths and today we are still going and one is 14 and the other is 12 and they ask often WHEN are we going to see Dr. Chu and Lisa and the rest of the great people? Well in 6 months! I also should mention Dr. Sean since my girls now have braces we go every six weeks and now my girls are asking when do I get my braces I tightened? ( Ummmmm what kid asks to get there braces tightened)?? I know this sounds like a paid advertisement! I promise you it’s not! Brought my 4 year old daughter to see Dr. Chu. We had an amazing experience! First off, Lisa, the nice young woman, who took my call, was so helpful and sweet! I had lots of questions about insurance and coverage and she was so patient and knowledgeable–she really took the time to explain all the complexities of dental coverage. On the day of the visit, Dr. Chu did an amazing job to calm my 4 year old and make her feel relaxed. My daughter had two cavities that needed to be filled. Dr. Chu has a very calm, gentle, and kind persona. She soothingly talked to my daughter during the entire procedure, explaining things in a way that my 4 year old could easily understand. I believe this truly helped my daughter feel at ease! Dr. Chu is amazing! Working with young ones can probably be very trying and difficult, especially in the health field (and probably even more so in dentistry). What a relief to find someone as patient and kind as Dr. Chu! I will definitely be bringing my other kids to her!

We were referred to Doctor Chu after my 7 year old daughter developed an abscess tooth. My daughter had a traumatic previous dentist experience which was the result of said abscess along with an unnoticed cavity. Needless to say after the first visit doctor Chu recommended total anesthesia in order to do the work. This would have cost us a pretty penny and there is always risks associated with full anesthesia on a young person.
After a phone call doctor Chu offered to see my daughter and try to use different ways to calm her down and see if she would be able to proceed with the work without the anesthesia. Not only did it work, my daughter had actually two procedures done two weeks appart. I don’t ont say that it went smoothly but Doctor Chu and her staff were very good at calming my daughter, explaining to her the procedure and allowing her to take “breaks”. The work involved two cavities filled. Two extractions. And a spacer installed.
All done and if you have a child that suffers from dentist anxiety then you know how this may sound …. impossible. Well she did it and saved us a ton of money but most importantly took great care of our baby girl. And that’s priceless. I highly recommend Doctor Chu and her staff for there professionalism her diligence in explaining to us in detail all the procedures and for the way she handled it all.

The front office staff was kind and informative. The hygienists were patient and gentle with my kids and the Dr. took the time to explain current teeth health as well as her predictions of the future care my kids might need. My son also screamed the entire time and bit her fonger during the exam and she never shamed me and made me feel like it was ok and normal. I would totally recommend. The only thing they could improve is their waiting room activities for kids.

I’ve been taking my now 4 year old to Dr. Chu since he was 1. The staff is very friendly and made him feel comfortable right from the start. He really likes coming here. They explain the X-ray procedure to him and he likes sitting there chomping on the bite piece. He also lets the hygienist and Dr. Chu clean his teeth for however long it takes, probably because he’s watching the movies on the tv on the ceiling. And, of course, he loves getting the little prize at the end! We have PPO coverage and I haven’t had any billing problems. Once, when my son tripped at daycare and fell on his face I took him in to Dr. Chu, who reassured me that everything would be ok. I really freaked out and she told me what to look for and what the possible outcomes could be. Everything turned out fine because his teeth never turned brown or gray. But I wouldn’t have known this without her telling me.
I feel in very good hands with Dr. Chu and her staff. I will be taking my 11 month old for his first dentist visit next month!
A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR
My mission, and that of the office, is to create a fun, loving environment for every child to receive dental care. Going to the dentist should not be scary; it should be an experience in which the children feel comfortable and safe. I love watching my patients grow up and become healthy, happy young adults. I have many patients who were toddlers when I started the practice, and now they are high schoolers with great dental health. I feel accomplished to be a part of this success, and I am confident that the good dental habits we built will last for years to come. It is my sincere privilege that parents trust me with their children’s smiles, and it is always my intent to give them something to really smile about. I attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, then USC for my postgraduate pediatric dentistry program. I completed my residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Long Beach, and Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey. This training has enabled me to work effectively with children who have complex medical needs and challenges, as well as special needs children. A board-certified pediatric dentist, I am committed to staying at the forefront of technology to serve my patients’ needs. I attend continuing education courses that improve my clinical practice, such as Waterlase MD™ laser dentistry for shot-free dental restorations, silver diamine fluoride, and orthodontics for developing dentition.
