My true true feelings: I have absolutely have all great feelings about the office. The staff goes above and beyond in not only doing his/her job but also being friendly and helpful. I know more than I ever needed to know about dental care and what procedures are done to help solve what problems. They don’t need to take the time to do that but they do that. I have my charges explained, my procedures explained with no issues or no “I don’t have time for this” attitudes. They ask me for updates too. About what I am doing, what trips I am taking. They don’t seem to care just for the sake of appearances.

Beyond dentistry compared to other dental offices, is exactly like comparing staying at the Four Seasons, versus a Holiday Inn. Well, I suppose you would never know what you are missing unless you actually STAY at the four seasons at least once. I have been to many dentists in my life (I am 46 years old) and I have NEVER considered the possibility that a visit to the dentist could actually be ENJOYABLE. From the waiting room design & the decor, to the way they make you feel while you are in the chair. I can honestly say that this was BY FAR the absolute best experience that I’ve had in my entire life. Dr Morgan was thorough, informative, attentive, patient and understanding. Not to mention spot on!! AMAZING! I avoid going to the dentist like the plague! If I was there is because I HAD TO. And even though they drilled on my mouth for 15 minutes, after I left I felt pampered, accomplished, safe and Oh so happy that I had chosen Dr. Herman instead of another doctor who was more main stream.

I switched to Dr. Herman about a year ago because I joined a dental HMO that my previous dentist wouldn’t accept. I’ve now had enough work done to conclude that Dr. Herman’s skills and experience are in a very high league. He’s got very good hands, and is self-assured, pleasant, and decisive when he works. Regarding the negative review of his business ethics, all I can say is that his office has honored all the pricing and co-pays of my plan, and there were no surprises. So, based on the past year I’ve been with him, about five or six visits, I can recommend him with confidence.

When I was a kid, the dentist I went to had an assistant who caused me so much pain I dreaded going every time and for years after. And I brushed regularly and never had cavities. I don’t know if she was incompetent or hated me. When I moved to New York about 5 years ago, I was looking for a dentist and chose one on my dental plan a few blocks from where I lived. That dentist was Dr. Herman, back when his offices were on 57th. And it has been the exact opposite experience of my childhood. He is always upbeat and the dental hygienists are great. Very gentle, with little bleeding and almost no pain. No pressure to get “additional” services, friendly srevice and my dental plan (cigna) covers all expenses. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I look forward to a cleaning every 6 months, but I always leave with a smile on my face.

The Herman’s have created a dentist office that is at first welcoming and then educating. They advised me of what the procedure would entail and then carried it out with precision. Dr. Morgan wouldn’t let me out of the chair until she was sure my crown fit perfectly. She showed more professionalism with a caring follow up call. I highly recommend their services

Following a bad experience with another dentist in NY a friend suggested this place and bingo they accept my insurance plan. The staff here are very friendly and the x ray was painless and quick . With x rays top hand and after an oral examination Dr Herman discussed his concerns and brought up a few ‘ to do’s’ . But other than that he was charming , informative and restored my faith in dentistry again . Now to the clean . I swear I floss every day , but never the less this hygienist went to work like a warrior and probably gave me the best cleaning I ever had . We now have a love hate relationship . I hate her for the duration of the clean and love her once she finished. Contrary to some bad previous press about this place I honestly enjoyed my experience and will be back in 6 months for another clean . Pretty swanky location on Central Park , be careful its dangerously close to Todd English food hall. I admit it i went straight from Dentist to Lady M next door . I am so weak . Oh and look out for the candy jar on the reception desk …see its not all bad !

The best dentist I’ve ever had. 5 stars is not enough for Beyond Dentistry NYC. I’ve had a lot of work done with Dr. Michael Herman, including 6 new laminates. Dr. Herman is exceptional, and a great guy. Christine is an incredible dental hygienist – she is gentle, yet thorough. Maddy is an excellent assistant. The team at Beyond Dentistry have all exceeded my expectations and I’m a client for life. Highly recommended for critical cosmetic work, as well as routine dental maintenance, cleaning and whitening. For the first time in my life, I look forward to going to the dentist. You will have a completely new experience at the dentist. Book a visit to Beyond Dentistry with confidence and great results.

I have been a patient of Dr. Herman for over 15 years. He always treated me very professional and with the highest respect. Some 1 and 2 stars reviews on this site are absolutely not tru. Is he a cheap dentist, no he is not. But he is no more expensive than other dentists. His senior office manager is a fantastic woman who tells you how and what it is and how much the cost will be if it is not covered by insurance. You either take it or leave it. For anyone who dislike Dr. Herman go look for another dentist.

I love this dentist.  He’s always listened to my concerns, examined me thoroughly, is fun, and never pushed me into procedures or treatments I don’t need.  He even talked me off the ledge about having my wisdom teeth out (previous dentist said it was necessary…10 years later, turns out I’m just fine as is).  His hygienists are super nice, and his staff is very very efficient and pleasant.  I always get an appointment quickly and have never been billed for anything unusual.

Compassionate and Professional dental office. Everyone from billing, hygienist and dentist are the best. We have been using them for years and had everything from Invisalign to major repairs. We have always felt comfortable (painless) !! Dr. Morgan saved one of my teeth that others would have broken. Dr.Michael has an eagle eye that can diagnose problems across the room. Highly recommend !!

I was accepted as a new patient a few weeks ago. Communication between the office and myself was instant (Carol called me immediately after I booked my first exam online). It had been 18mths since my last dental appointment and in the process I had done some damage. I had major sensitivity issues and I had been avoiding eating on the right side of my mouth for quite some time. I ended up needing 3 fillings AND some bond work. Dr. Herman’s daughter, the other Dr. Herman, took great care of me. She explained exactly what needed to be done and she took the time to educate me on the preventive care of my teeth and my gums. I try to avoid Novocain and although she didn’t believe me at first, she respected my wishes but let it be known that we could stop at any time and use it if I needed it. I had NO pain during my visit. That night I chewed on my right side again, and I ate ice cream, and I drank cold water…ALL pain free!! I followed up that visit with a general cleaning and Fluoride treatment. Again, I received wonderful care and more proactive advice. The text reminders and confirmations are very helpful and ALL of my appointments took place during my lunch hour so it couldn’t have been more convenient for me. I am a little surprised at the amount of chocolate available in the office but I guess that it is good for business, however they don’t need that to keep me coming back. They have a regular patient in me until I leave this city. Seriously, this place rocks!

Been going to him since I was 18 im 52 now if you want the best he is the best.. also unlike other places you may go to he doesnt have rude people at the front desk, they represent him well and know what it means to have good customer service. I left my primary drs office, I was also going to since I was 18 over the front desk being rude. Love me some Michael Herman.
