I’ve been here for years and this group is amazing. Dr. Z really cares about your teeth and puts you and your health at the forefront of the decision making process. In addition, Ashley is wonderful and does a fantastic job cleaning my teeth. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Just a fabulous group who know how to care for patients. The secretaries are great too!

Pros: Have been visiting this office for over 10 yrs, and know Doc Z from the day he took over the practice. Always personal and explains the discoveries (!), and procedures well. He generates a high degree of trust. The front desk staff are also helpful and pleasant. Cons: the past few years seem to have seen a lot of changes in the hygienists, they are always good, but the personal relationship does not have a chance to develop.

Moved to Boston recently and hadn’t done a dental cleaning in almost two years. I would give these folks six stars if I could. Joanna at the front desk is charming and lovely, and each of their hygienists are not only friendly but also knowledgeable. This was my first cleaning with Jen, as she is new to the practice (previously having worked in western Mass). She was quick yet thorough. She provided recommendations for specific areas of my mouth where I can do a better job flossing, and of course, she did it with a smile and positive attitude.

Super modern dental practice with experienced and friendly staff. Dr. Z is excellent at explaining any issues I have with my teeth, what kind of work or treatment is necessary, and also providing me with options and the pros and cons of each and allowing me to decide what I prefer (although he does give his own recommendation). Other dentists I used to go to just did the work without much explanation and, on occasion, ended up doing the wrong kind of work for the issue I had. And this is one of the reasons why I trust Dr. Z and feel comfortable with his suggestions. I think that is one of the most important things to have a good relationship with your dentist. And I have to say that until I visited his practice I had not taken my dental hygiene seriously, but thanks to him I have been super diligent about it and have not had any problems.

I am a big fan of this dental practice. Dental Care is first call here. They are not “judgy” as some other dental practices I have been to in the past, for starters. They have the latest technology — zoom whitening, crowns in a day, etc. The dental office itself is very clean, ultra-modern, and staff are very courteous, attentive, and above all efficient. Like another reviewer, I came in as a new customer (I found BDD via amazon local deals) with a broken crown and some trepidation. And like that other reviewer I was greeted with warmth and friendliness, shown into clean facilities, and treated carefully by Dr. Z and his assistants. All parts of the procedure were fully explained to me, and Joanna and Lasha behind the desk were very helpful working with my insurance and offering multiple payment options. Friendly atmosphere, Clean, I got a second opinion with DR.Z regarding going with crowns or veneers. He was very upfront, gave his opinion, no pressure to proceed with the treatment plan whatsoever. Front desk ladies were friendly and approachable. Dr. Z’s assistant was awesome we chatted before the dr came in and helped me calm my anxiety. The work Dr. Zourdos has done is outstanding. I have gone to other dentists for cleaning and emergencies, since I live in NY and BDD is not exactly a quick drive, and they have all been amazed at the workmanship and aesthetic quality of my dental work. I have to say, the attention to detail is the best I’ve experienced anywhere. This is clearly a dental practice that takes pride in its work. And given some of the comments I have read here, I must note one thing: yes, Dr. Zourdos did recommend certain work that I should do, which did run contrary to what other dentists recommended. For example, he suggested I do an implant and two crowns, rather than replace a bridge I had that needed replacement. A bridge would have been cheaper and faster, but I felt his recommendation was the correct one, even though it was more expensive and would require several visits: by doing a bridge I would put more pressure on the two good supporting teeth and it would be more difficult to clean leading to potential issues down the road. So you can pay a bit more now and have the work done right (or the right work done), or much more later to fix problems. Another thing I have to note is that he never insisted I should do the work with him and even gave me tips of what to look for in case I decided to go with another dentist! I think that says a lot about the confidence in his assessment and it has given me a level of trust that I have not felt with any other dentist. For me that is one of the most important things and why I drive up all the way from NY to see Dr. Zourdos.

The work I had done on my four front teeth was outstanding. I had a chipped front tooth and another crooked tooth behind the other front tooth. Dr. Z crowned my four front teeth and they are straight and perfect. I never thought my teeth would look this beautiful. I found the price to be very expensive but worth it. He works meticulously and explains everything. The office is very professional and understanding and easy to get and change appointments. I also had a deep route cleaning to obtain healthy gums and thought the hygienist was meticulous as well. I would definitely recommend this office.

Dr z and the staff has been my lifesaver- I have severe anxiety as soon as I walk in the door after years and years of terrible dental experiences- this is literally the only place I have felt actually cared about the patients. The staff are always so kind and helpful and make me feel like I’m not the worst patient. I have seen a huge improvement with sensitivity and they have done an excellent job setting up a manageable plan for all the work I needed done. I did not see that my previous review got posted but I am offering a follow up review. I had a gum treatment/scraping last summer at Boston Dental Design and got a lot of advice about how to improve my gum health. I went again yesterday for the follow-up cleaning, had taken all the advice given and made a big effort to do what I as told. The health of my gums has greatly improved and the cleaning was very thorough. This dental office and all its hygienists, as well as Dr. Zourdos, are very professional and care about their patients. There is very clear evidence that they want to provide the best dentistry and improve the oral health of their patients. I always feel I am in very good hands when I go to this dental practice and plan to continue to go there and follow the treatment plan as they have laid out for me. The proof is in the big screen chart showing improvement on almost every tooth!

I went in last week with a Groupon and can’t remember ever having such a thorough dental exam! Marisol, the hygienest, took the time to explain the procedures used and to go over proper brushing and flossing techniques with me. Dr. Zourdos also spent a good amount of time with me and clearly explained his recommended course of action for my gum recession. Both Dr. Zourdos and Marisol were very friendly and patient in answering my questions. Although they did recommend a number of extra treatments, they weren’t overly pushy. The technology was impressive as well! I came away feeling much more informed about my oral health and motivated to care for my teeth. The front desk staff were also wonderful and even took the time to call my insurance company to check my coverage. I’d highly recommend Boston Dental Design!

I had an appointment for a cleaning with Emma today. She was gentle and friendly. Emma also took the time to go over home care recommendations. Dr. Zourdos did my exam and was genuine and friendly. He let me know which treatment is the highest priority and why. He even took a picture of the tooth that needed treatment to show me exactly what was going on. This is hands down the best dental practice I have ever been too! Dr. Z makes me feel safe and in very good hands. Especially with patients like me, that need a little extra TLC, they have been a life saver! I put off treatments (root canals, etc.) for YEARS until I met them. All of the staff, from the front desk reception (yes, you Johanna!) to their periodontist specialists make me feel like I am getting the absolute best care possible, and I believe it! They are all extremely knowledgable and although they recommend healthy practices, they make sure not to force treatments or practices on their clients. (Plus, their office is super sleek and modern, very pleasing to my dentally anxious mind, and) the attention that they put into everything they do is evident.

Let me start by saying that I have been looking for a decent dentist for 2+ years and I have had various bad experiences. I was exceptionally happy with my experience here. I had been looking for a good Dentist walking distance from my office in Seaport, and I am so glad that I found Dr. Zourdos and his amazing staff. Everyone was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The location was great, corner office on post office square, so each of the three cleaning rooms had nice views down onto the street. Very clean and bright office, brightened only by the smiles of the staff. They actually made me want to take better care of my teeth, and I feel lucky to have found this office and thankful it was in my AETNA PPO network.
